Cvent offers their comprehensive event management platform to those organizing conferences of various kinds, as well as equipment rental, shuttle services, hotel booking, and other services associated with managing events. Cvent’s registration handling is a part of its services, praised for its intuitiveness and ease of use for a variety of purposes by event organizers across industries. Its registration features include a branded event website with online registration, on-site registration with badging, secure payment processing, as well as room block management, seating arrangement handling, pre-event engagement, and rich analytics for bookings success and revenue tracking. On TrustRadius, a large portion (40%) of Cvent users come from midsize companies. Reviewers praise Cvent’s robust feature set for hosting multiple large and small events, conferences, or for high volume bookings (e.g. higher ed). TrustRadius users enjoy the ease with which they were able to build and deploy online registration portals and event pages in Cvent, and the overall intuitiveness of using Cvent to complete a wide range of tasks, despite the platform’s great feature breadth and functionality.

What is Event Registration Software?

Event registration software provides event organizers with an online or mobile solution for selling event tickets, sending out invitations, live guest registration, as well as conducting pre- and post-event communications. Users include event organizers across verticals and marketers or promoters of corporate events.

Beyond electronic guest registration, these software may include tools to attract and track registrants. This include advertisements and promotional messaging, reminder messages (via email or SMS), and mobile guest check-in at the event. Analytics included in most event registration software allows event organizers to measure attendance and track event capacity, measure event earnings, and track revenue across multiple events. Creative and marketing features include newsletters, landing page templates and web personalization, custom online registration portals, and event promotion templates. For one-off events, event registration software may be bundled with an event website.

Event registration is generally a feature of event management software, but event management platforms may be more costly and contain unnecessary features that are designed to support large conferences. At the most basic level, event registration software provides an inexpensive and convenient means to sell tickets, manage guest intake, and log attendee data.

Top Rated Criteria

Products included in the 2019 Top Rated Event Registration Software list must have been in the top tier of their category TrustMap as of June 3rd, 2019. To qualify for the Event Registration Software Top Rated Award, products must have at least 10 reviews written within the past year, a TRScore of at least 7.5 out of 10, and must receive at least 1.5% of the traffic in their category.  Every reviewer is verified and every review is vetted before publication. Products are plotted on the TrustMap based on end-user data, including users’ likelihood to recommend scores as well as buyer research patterns.
