ADP SmartCompliance

ADP SmartCompliance is a great resource for users of the ADP suite of products. I don't have any real negatives. I think it's one of the best third party resources that my company uses, and I've seen a number of them. Also, the continuous improvement of the website and it's offerings keeps me coming back to see what else I can do on the site. I've used SmartCompliance since it's creation, and other ADP resources prior to SmartCompliance and I am thoroughly sold on it.

Paylocity Web Pay

As far as payroll and ATS systems go this is the best I have used. It does have it flaws of course but they seem to be adaptable to changing client needs, up with the industries and times, and good agents. We run a group of restaurants and use them for ATS, HR, payroll and time clocks for 2/5 concepts now- they are leaps and bounds ahead of ADP. The only thing they could improve on is their biometric time clock; it needs to be hooked up to a computer 24/7 to effectively function. The former is not adaptable for a restaurant setting so we had to switch to another time clock solution- although we like it we would have preferred the biometric clock.

Paylocity Web Pay

  • Customer service. We're assigned a dedicated account manager, but there is also a broader team that is aware of our account and can assist with the Account Manager is not available. I've always found them to be very knowledgeable and helpful.
  • User friendly. Both our management team and employee users have found the platform to be more user friendly than our past systems. I have to answer very few questions about how to access areas of the site.
  • Many options. We started with Web Pay's base services, but were able to add advanced HR functions, performance management, and onboarding within the same platform. It's nice to have a single solution rather than multiple vendors pieced together.

  • It would be great to have How To guides more easily accessible. (maybe within the sections that they pertain to). For example, a how-to guide on how to add a new state to the within the set up the screen.
  • I think that being able to download the quarterly tax filings that ADP filed on our behalf are missing. We do not know what was submitted directly to the agencies.
  • A built-in Quarter end / Year end checklist or workflow that is directly in ADP SC would be great. Currently, I reference a spreadsheet that is outside of ADP SC to ensure that I have checked the necessary reports and reconciled. If this could be a step by step task (with the due dates) within ADP SC and if you could mark it complete within the system instead of having to scan and fax the sign off sheet for the quarter... that would be great and would help keep me on track.
  • Reminders within ADP SC that would let me know when it was time to submit my Monthly file for Illinois would be great. I currently have a calendar reminder to remind me to send the monthly integration file.

  • An example would be the PM (Performance Management) System within Paylocity. It is not very customizable in particularly with communication settings, launching PM Evaluations and also notifications are poorly able to be used.
  • I also think the Web Benefits module is very poor, and feel that the representatives that oversee it aren't that confident in the system, as well. To my understanding, it was a newly acquired system that wasn't fully executed (in my opinion) with integration of WebPay.
  • I think (this may be a cultural piece), but having more functionality within the WebPay system would be great, and logical corrections could be incorporated, for example if someone wants to add a checking account number into their account, the system would be able to identify if missing digits were not there or the proper state routing number was also there.

  • Our Payroll department has been able to move to a 100% electronic payment requirement in the four states we operate in, eliminating approximately $6,000/semi-monthly for postage, packaging and stop payment fees associated with live check processing. We've also been able to reduce the fraud risk in our 64 buildings by eliminating the need to keep a payroll check book in each for emergencies
  • We have been able to reallocate three head counts from manual tracking and entry of garnishments. The Garnishment Service Center has taken the responsibility of answering and tracking orders, issuing copies to employees and handling general inquiries from agencies and employees from our in-house staff.
