Conductor is a great tool, especially for people who work with multiple tools geared towards search analytics (Webmaster Tools, Adobe, SEMRush etc.). The ability to combine traffic metrics with along with site health factors and keyword opportunities is great to have in one place. It saves time, and helps streamline data to make its users more efficient.

Despite some of its shortcomings Conductor is an amazing platform for all parts of optimizing for organic search. It is also perfect for finding new ideas that actual web users are looking for and helping start the process of developing a content strategy. Where Conductor is less suited is true competitor comparisons. While it does do a great job in measuring your competitors rankings and market share for your keywords, it has a more difficult time drawing in other keywords they own and showing market share among the competitive landscape when factoring those kinds of keywords into the mix.

If you are managing multiple client accounts, Conductor makes it easy to monitor performance across all client accounts and quickly get a good handle on how those sites are performing. It is also a great tool for competitive analysis, as well as conducting SEO audits into new sites/prospective clients. Conductor has made significant updates to its UI, making it easy to screenshot good-looking, clear charts and add them to client reports.

Provides an excellent dashboard with key insights from the prior week - a great destination for a Monday morning quick read. By keeping your eye on keywords you've identified as "rank worthy" even if your site is in position 100+, is incredibly valuable and allows you and your team to plan long-term for pushing those keywords closer to your desired position.

If the senior manager is looking for some quick information before going into a meeting, Conductor is well suited to roll up that information very quickly. It's beneficial to group all of those needs in an easy-to-find place. The tools are also well suited to check on your competitors. Being able to see the keyword gap does wonders. Where Conductor is less appropriate is to determine which type of content is more appropriate for the audience you're trying to reach. That in and of itself is a catch-22.

If you're looking to keep up with your SEO traffic, keywords and trends, this is for you. The tools available to not only review your important information, but also to see how you stack up against the competition is immensely valuable. While the keyword insights here are great and can also provide guidance on paid search terms, I wouldn't license it for that reason.

It is well suited in combination with analytics integration and the ability to tie into sales. We currently use Workspaces and category reporting. I fought very hard at my company in early 2017 to purchase Conductor, and it's not a decision I regret. I think their tool offers amazing insight and super-simple workflows that make focusing on organic marketing a breeze. Their dashboard capabilities are impressive and something I try and share with my executive team as often as possible.

One issue we've struggled with at 451 this year is team downsizing and having enough time to devote to organic marketing in general (not just the platform), so I would caution anyone who's concerned about their inability to focus on organic from a bandwidth perspective. Conductor is a relatively expensive option compared to what else is in the market (with good reason, but expensive nonetheless) and for me, with less time to focus on organic, it's been hard to show our investment paid off this year.

The only time where Conductor could be less suited is if your team is not able to properly use the platform and all of its capabilities. I would say my team under-utilizes the platform, but it still provides a lot of meaningful insight and helps identify very meaningful trends.

Conductor is very helpful if you have enough time between first interacting with a potential client and when a Proposal is due. For quicker turnaround, other Conductor features are good, but you might be better served using a lighter tool.
