UKG is used to pay the employees and report on this data. We have the HR portal, but it is not helpful at all, and the support to get it going is not great.

UKG Ready is used to submit timesheets and time off requests. This allows our HR department to analyze timesheets and time off data while processing payroll to ensure no errors.

UKG Ready is the timekeeping/PTO system we use in the warehouse. We had custom work done with UKG Ready to also calculate piece rate/minimum wage adjustments. One of the few software that has this capability.
  • Mass Editing - Moving jobs and positions from one production line to another
  • Reporting - Easy to make reports and email them on schedule to Managers
  • Custom work - Ability to calculate piece rate and upload piece detail
  • The connection with UKG Core. Updating profiles in UKG Core sometimes doesn't sync with UKG Ready. It is super annoying. Such as status (active, term), Clock numbers, etc. Need more detail on why things don't sync on the import menu option.
  • Schedules - We have rotating schedules every week and it always gets messed up when you select a start date on the schedule. Also, it's hard to select the correct schedule when a new employee starts. Not sure of a solution but it would be a redesign. Also, it would be nice if we could select the schedule in UKG Ready and push it to UKG Core. UKG Core doesn't allow mass updates which means we have to go through each employee and change the schedule. Too much work.
The biggest win was being able to create custom calculations with cost centers. This enables UKG Ready to calculate piece rate and minimum wage based on a specific job. We can import the number of pieces per employee which will show on their timecard. UKG Ready then completes the calculation and passes it to UKG Core. Saves us a bunch of time.

We use UKG Ready on a daily basis. I use it to run reports, help internal customers, uploading documents. The big issue we have is getting straightforward answers from UKG reps. In my experience, simple reports that should be available are not, and based off the community learning, multiple users have requested the same or alike reports YEARS ago, and they are still not available. In my opinion, the two-app login is very unnecessary; why can't it be integrated? I also feel the 15-character password is inconvenient. In my experience, communication broadcasts are always down and vague.

WuXi is bio, pharma and manufacturing. We use it for all HRIS and payroll with a feed into PlanSource for benefits. Benefits did not have a good implementation and still very difficult time with the two systems. On the HRIS and payroll side it is OK. For payroll they have many outstanding tax issues. UKG is transforming the the way they take care of tickets and it has improved slightly.

We use the product for time and attendance. It helps us keep employees schedules, calculate their PTO, and organize our employees clock in and clock out times. It helps us keep in one place their extended leave and FMLA calculation. Before we had to do it manually. It has been a lifesaver in leave calculation.

We use to calculate extended leave cases by hand. It was a very tedious when you had more than one employee out with a company our size. We use UKG Ready for all of our personnel recordkeeping and payroll. It has eliminated the need for any paper based records for onboarding and employee tracking, and has cut the payroll process turnaround from 5 to 2 days. The self service, web based interface has reduced the time that HR has to commit to help with employee questions and issues. It has also streamlined the 3rd party vendor relationship through EDI interfaces.

We use UKG Ready along with UKG PRO. Our employees utilize the web mobile punch as well as the desktop. The current problem we are facing with UKG Ready is: 1. Accruals- updates when staff changes accrual policies, rehires, terms holiday not being removed for future dates that were pre populated. 2. Reporting -on 2nd jobs, auto reports 3.Payroll Export- Accrual update procedures 4. Time-sheet changes- updating a closed time sheet, and the ability to add in an adjusted time sheet for a closed period 5. Time off requests and changes- hard to find where they went once submitted 6. Export- doesn't notify you of hours not exporting , resulting in staff not being paid.

I think the platform is great however the setup can use some improvement. I've found that If the system is not set up properly it takes a long time to get it corrected. In my experience, Tickets for service can take a long time. In my opinion, Interfaces with third party vendors can take forever, since they do not communicate with each other. Uploading information from other HRIS system is also an issue, most of the history was uploaded incorrectly, or missing information.

I joined Yoga Joint about a year and a half ago, and upon hire, I immediately worked on pulling away from ADP and into UKG Ready. I had years of experience with UltiPro and was excited to see they had merged with Kronos to form UKG. We needed a full-suite solution for HR; Time & Attendance, Payroll, HR, Talent/Recruiting, Performance Management, Compensation Management, and more. To date, we have implemented 4 modules, and I am currently working on implementing our 5th as we speak. The efficiency with how their implementation team works is amazing. They are very hands on, organized, detailed and professional. I was very pleased with the implementation of each portal and how the UKG team kept me on track to meet my deadline to Go Live. My HR Department at this time only consists of myself and my Payroll & Benefits Manager, but the level of output we receive from UKG in managing close to 175 employees makes our job manageable. The reporting features throughout their system are fabulous. Easy to use, filter on, and report on in various forms, and have built-in several workflows within each portal as well as built alerts throughout the platform, which allows UKG Ready to push out communication to staff and management very easily. Their Time and Attendance portal and mobile app is easy to use and allow our workforce to easily clock in and out and request PTO. This funnels easily into their Payroll portal, making processing payroll very seamless and smooth. I am very pleased with our choice of partnering with UKG Ready as we are a local company about to take off with massive growth, so we needed to find a solution that was able to address our needs today and scale our growth ahead.

  • Customer Service - By the click of a button, I can open a case or chat request, and UKG is very prompt in reaching back out to me. If it is regarding payroll processing, the response time is almost immediate.
  • Talent/Recruiting Portal - The application process can use improvement throughout, especially their resume parsing feature.
  • LMS Portal - This is a somewhat new feature inside UKG Ready, so may need more time to build and develop here.
UKG Ready offers a solid full-suite solution at a reasonable price that addresses our growing company's needs. The platform is very user-friendly, and their mobile app was well received throughout our workforce. They offer robust reporting capability throughout the portals, which makes it easy to report on. My sales rep was quick to address my needs, and their implementation team is very hands on and easy to work with. We recently rolled UKG Ready out to our company, and the adaption rate of our employees to grasp clocking in and out and navigating the system was exceptional. All in all, from an ROI perspective, I am very pleased with my choice in partnering with UKG and feel this solution will carry us for many years of anticipated growth ahead.

We use UKG for Payroll, HR, Benefits, and timekeeping. The problem that we have right now is we are a railroad and we tax differently (unemployment and taxing come from the railroad retirement board. Sometimes we have to customize our needs or make a workaround.

We started in 2017 with time and attendance and have expanded in 2022 with payroll, benefits, onboarding, and accruals.
  • Biometric time entry, avoids buddy punching and time theft
  • Dashboard experience to quickly see birthdays and anniversaries of employees
  • In depth reports showing department and position
  • Employee lead personal and payroll changes, no second entry
  • Having an employee reset their own password if they forget or get locked out vs having to call the admin
As mentioned prior, we had issues with buddy punching and time theft. By transitioning to UKG Ready and the biometric hand scanners, we can avoid those issues. UKG Ready also gives the manager a quick view of who is working and when they punched in (and if they did for lunch).

We use a suite of UKG Ready solutions including payroll, timekeeping, performance, accruals, etc. It has allowed us to reduce the amount of paper we use and to automate many processes, which frees up the time of my HR staff and managers to focus on things like driving revenue, training, development, etc.
  • Functionality, in particular, is very strong. I was able to completely customize my performance reviews, including content and approvals.
  • Applications can be customized. For example, we had a stretch where we needed a high number of applicants, so we [were quickly enabled] to apply, which provided a measured increase in applicants.
  • The data storage provided is good. Though we are still converting to more digital documents, we have been able to convert paper documents into eDocs and have them stored inside UKG Ready.
  • I would appreciate it if they could add geofencing via a tighter radius or even better, with coordinates for mobile clock-in.
  • I would like it if they could allow custom document security access to be programed via the Customs Form creation and not have to enter each and every security profile to update.
UKG Ready is a strong contender for [companies] under 750 or so team members with not many security profiles. Security Profiles drive a lot of who can see what and when you start having many security profiles, it becomes cumbersome to update everything and keep access where it needs to be.

We use UKG Ready for 7 EINS in a skilled nursing facility/personal care setting and use the Payroll, HR, ACA, TLM modules. We are currently implementing Advanced Scheduler to better track employees approaching OT and to avoid using another system for scheduling. It has worked very well for us over the past 3 years.

We will continue to work towards configuring other modules that need to have their set up complete

  • I can see all employees in one database.
  • New enhancements have made some tasks easier to complete.
  • Pay calcs can be a bit overwhelming. I would like to see them a bit more streamlined.
  • "New" looks is not user-friending for smaller monitors. Having to scroll right or left to find an action button can be time consuming.
  • Sometime the amount of information on new releases is a bit overwhelming.
  • Would like to see "effective dating" for GL settings (the same as for pay calcs).
Well suited for multiple EINs not only for administrative use but also the fact security can be set for multiple user levels. The multiple modules that are available can also be tailored for company specific uses. It does take some extensive setup at implementation.

The business problems that UKG has addressed include: Inconsistent platforms between our U.S. and Canadian locations as UKG has centralized all data into a single source so that we can have more accurate analytics of everything related to our employees. Lack of reporting features as UKG has allowed our reporting capabilities to wildly increase and helps our Central Office Directors as well as our Community leadership to monitor labor. We were able to reduce overtime significantly since we set up labor reporting dashboards. Paper-based processes as UKG have allowed us to move away from archaic processes that reduce the administrative burden on our Central Office as well as our on-site managers.

  • Consistency of UI across each different area of the program, makes learning easier.
  • Support has been effective, quick, and they actually teach you HOW to do things so you don't need to ask for help the next time! The recaps that support provides after walking you through anything (for me this was building shift incentives) are extremely helpful.
  • Communication and training about updates.
  • A better review of community ideas that have hit high points threshold. When we go out searching for a solution and see an idea that would solve the solution and it has 500-1,000 points from 2 years ago, it's sad.
  • Adjust the last remaining report screens that don't match the updated UI so it's consistent across all.
  • Allow dashboard layouts to be reset without adjusting managers' customizations of their dashboards.
UKG Ready is well suited for multi-location companies that are in jurisdictions as it provides a great platform for company-wide communication while also still having very clear options for location-based customizations that are required legally. I would say that it's been extremely effective for us as a company that has grown from ~400 employees when we implemented to over 500 in the past year, and it's been instrumental in giving us the ability to grow. I think UKG Ready is not well suited for small companies that have fewer than 50 employees due to the high PEPM cost.

UKG Ready is where our time off, payroll, and timesheets are managed along with limited training and employee information. For training (and tracking it), I feel like it did not meet our needs and we purchased another program. I feel like the navigation is clunky for non-regular users. The views and filters are nice, but I believe the permissions can be clunky and difficult for users. In my opinion, this means that our users in general are reluctant to log in to look up information, check timesheets, or track things.

I feel that the overall user experience was clunky enough that most of our staff didn't use UKG Ready beyond what they absolutely had to. More often than not from what I've experienced, users would ask a leader or someone else to do it for them. While this is obviously an opportunity for coaching, it speaks to the software and ease of use as our users spanned from teenagers to advanced workers.

It is being used as our HRIS system. We use it for recruitment, onboarding and have developed the performance management process in it. Additionally, we track all of our employee training in the system. It is great for reporting as it has a lot of flexibility in how you can develop your reports.

  • Workflow process for recruitment could be smoother
Some features are good but the recruitment module doesn't flow as easily as it should. The workflow is clumsy and requires extra steps...it doesn't automatically move a candidate through the workflow and it needs to be manually done in multiple places, making it more challenging for both the recruiter and hiring manager. If this was more automated, it would be so much easier.

  • Accommodates licensed staff to check in & get extra pay
  • It does not allow EEs to submit a timesheet that has incorrect data.
This is hard to answer; we went live March 2021 and I believe our setup needs to be reviewed. We have a consultant coming to see us soon to help. I know the difficulties we are having should not be. I am excited and encouraged to get this fixed after the networking at UKGworks. :)

UKG Ready is the best payroll solution I've used, being in finance/accounting/payroll for the last 15 years. I've worked with a number of other payroll processing and HR platforms, and UKG Ready (previously Kronos) blows them all away. Reporting is so customizable, making it super easy to create the exact reports you need, in whatever order you need to see them in. Your dashboards are customizable in terms of what you see and how you see it (charts/graphs, data, or both), and you can decide how many columns you want, how you want it organized, etc. The security access is unlimited as far as what you can do with it. Who can see what information, or whose information, approval workflows, auto-generated and emailed reports, uploading documents to be fully electronic with your HR files - for all of that you can decide how much that specific person or specific group can see, and whether they can just view or make changes as well. Benefits open enrollment is super easy with UKG Ready. It's all online, and it syncs with Everything Benefits, so once the employee submits and you approve it, it automatically goes to the various benefit carriers. Payroll processing takes very little time. At my current company, I run two payrolls per month, for two locations. It takes less than an hour, and that's with manually entering commissions and bonuses. At my prior company, where I also implemented UKG Ready, I was running payroll for 16 separate locations every two weeks. Payroll was in-house through our accounting system and it would take two days to process all payrolls. With UKG Ready, we got that down to about 4 hours, with minimal manual entries. Overall, UKG Ready was exactly the system I was looking for. After switching companies a few years ago, I worked with their choice of payroll software for about 6 months before implementing UKG Ready. The other system, though widely known and accepted, just couldn't compete with the capabilities that UKG Ready has. If you're looking for something that is going to majorly simplify your payroll, time off, benefits, and HR processes check out UKG Ready. I bet it's just what you need!

We use the Time & Labor Management, Accruals, and Leave Modules to track employees' time, time off, and leave of absence. We track all time for all staff (Classified, Licensed, Administrators, and Temporary), hourly and exempt.

Compared to the past solution we had, UKG Ready is much easier to manage and is more adaptive to the school system. Enhanced transparency allows all staff to know exactly what they will be paid for and why.

We are currently using UKG Ready across the whole organization. It has helped to streamline our processes and give us a one-stop shop for our employees. It has also been very helpful to our managers as they are now able to manage their employees' timesheets from their mobile devices. Other benefits include workflows to get proper approvals, checklists to help track required items, and benefits enrollment all in one system.

  • Better connectivity between different modules - For example, when adding positions, it's a manual step to add matching skills and scheduled cost centers for scheduling.
  • Certification tracking - The basics are covered, but there are many nuances that become challenging to handle.
  • Position Management - Our organization's employees often have multiple positions at different pay rates. Again, the basics are covered, but there are so many ways this area could be enhanced.
UKG Ready provides great flexibility to build [its] product to meet the unique needs of our organization. It's very important to invest time and resources to fully utilize the system. We are about to complete our second full year and continue to add new features as well as [improve] our current features.
