Companies can't remove reviews or game the system. Here's why

Part of my ongoing role is to update forms, tables, dashboards, or reports as new business needs arise. This has proven a very easy task thanks to the intuitive design of Quickbase. I honestly don't know what else to say except that it's quick and easy to add or change functionality within the application.

Almost every day I am asked to make updates to the applications I look after. I have setup an easy workflow in QuickBase so that people can request updates through that and I can assign one of my junior developers to implement the change if it is easy. If it is more complicated, I either implement it myself, or guide a junior developer on how best to implement the change. These changes are seamless for the end user.

For the really big changes, I make a copy of the app to test the changes before I implement them. This would be easier if I upgraded to QuickBase "Platform" to get a Developer Sandbox, however, it's not worth the money for me.

Quickbase allows for inplace updates or lateral updates. For high use apps, we typically do lateral updates in which we duplicate the app with a right click and then perform the edits on the copy. Once we are certain, we make the changes on the live app.

When we first built the system it focused on on-boarding. After implementing the system, another department saw the successes and asked if they could be added to the system process. We worked on their process flow and added them to the application. It was a beneift to everyone to add the department and decreased issues and mistakes with handing off work.

I inherited a QuckBase from an individual who left the company. I was able to easily maintain and update it. I did require some further assistance when it came to formulas, etc., but with customer support and a manual, I was able to tackle that as well. Overall a great experience.

It takes no time to update a QuickBase application. It is good to have an idea of what you want to build before you go into it. Setting up tables and importing data is a breeze. Copying applications to help with maintaining original applications before changes is quick.

We have new questions, stats, and other datapoints being added several times a year and it is always easy to add them in Quickbase apps. It's usually simply adding a new field and report that uses it (or adding to an existing report). Adding new options for existing fields is even easier and can be set up dynamically, which is great.

We are constantly updating and changing our Open Public Records Request tracking system. As new and or different requests come in we have to adapt the system to handle the back and forth between at least 10 different departments.

Due to a new platform being launched, we needed to add a new field that would help us track requests for the new and old platform. We added that field, rule and dependency within an hour. After that, it was just a question of finish the final tweak to the reporting and the customising the app homepage.

We are constantly updating and improving our Quickbase applications. Once people start using them they have lots of suggestions for new features and improvements. Since it is so easy to build them out the users are very happy and feel like they are part of the process.

My first quickbase application took about 3 days to develop as I wasn't familiar with the tool and could not find resources or tutorials to understand it. I felt that quickbase had several options, but it was difficult to understand how best to apply them.

We have created an app to track things like judges participating in a competition over many years. We send invitations to some of the same judges year after year, but other judges are new. We have several people managing the invitation list and tracking response status of our judges. We have found QuickBase to be a great solution for keeping a central record. I can quickly go in to update our invitation status, draw reports of confirmed judges' expertise, and see who participated in which years. It's been great!

I often need to change certain features within our apps, such as form fields for data entry. Occasionally field placement can be optimized. Using the form editor and the ability to drap and drop these changes are easy and quick and make every user's experience a little bit easier.

One of the most underrated but powerful features of Quickbase is the ability to rapidly update or change applications as your business needs change. As an example, when we expanded the usage of one of our primary applications into a different market, we were able to update the application to serve both markets in a matter of a few days. There have been instances in training sessions for applications when users have brought up concepts that we were able to implement during the meeting right in front of employees to get feedback.

As our markets had changed, we needed to update the database with new fields that provided the new segmentation we needed - this change was easily accomplished and likewise, to update the existing information with this new field was easy.

We have often needed to update our contracts application. For example, adding numbers of documents that can be stored, or fields that we need to call out for sorting. As I mentioned earlier, the flexibility of QuickBase is fantastic. We have never felt constrained in our ability to expand the system and our usage of it.

Application updates are always possible but sometimes there is a bit of a re-learning curve as we dig into areas of the application config that have not been viewed in many months. Luckily it is not easy to "break" the application when making modifications.
