Black Bear Design utilizes SharpSpring as our Customer Relationship Management platform. Every department uses it in some form, whether it be the sales team reaching out to new leads, our internal marketing team creating a newsletter, or web developers building a new website and embedding SharpSpring forms on the pages.

SharpSpring allows us to combine multiple different points of our sales funnel into one easy-to-use platform. We're able to easily capture data on leads before they submit any info to us, and then after they fill out a form, we're able to keep them engaged with regular touchpoints that are set up in automated workflows.
  • Lead Scoring - SharpSpring offers a service known as Lead Scoring, which utilizes rules that you create to better determine if someone visiting your website is an ideal customer for your company. Each lead is given a number based on the actions they take while visiting your site. The more items that they check-off, the warmer the lead is likely to be. The best part is that the lead is unaware that this is going on behind the scenes.
  • Email Builder - SharpSpring has an easy-to-use email builder. You can work with templates or build your own emails in a drag-and-drop manner. These emails allow you to add in Dynamic Content as well, which makes the emails custom to the person that you're sending them to. It makes the email seem more personalized than most email blasts.
  • Visual Workflows - Automation is king, and SharpSpring allows you to create a workflow for just about anything. Visual Workflows allow you to create journeys that your customers will go on, and then you can set it and forget it. Customers will be taken down branching paths and journeys that you've already created for them, but you won't need to lift a finger to keep them engaged.
  • Instagram: SharpSpring is currently lacking the feature to post on Instagram. The other major social platforms are available though.
I think that SharpSpring is tremendously helpful for any business that wants to better manage their sales funnel and keep customers and potential customers engaged with their business. It comes at a much lower price than many customer relationship management platforms, but still offers all of, if not more, of the features that you'd want. The marketing side of the platform is able to handle all of your digital marketing needs, and the sales side of the platform makes it easy for a team of 1 to 100 salespeople to bring on new clients.

We use it for our own business in lead generation, existing customer engagement (for support and communication), and reporting. We are a SharpSpring Partner, and our clients sign up through our agency to make similar use of the tools provided. The number and quality of tools have grown steadily, so there is higher engagement across the board, with our clients becoming more and more interested in automation, landing pages, sales pipeline management, and other features.
  • VisitorID is one of the most valuable features. Every morning, the account owner receives a personalized email message listing the key visits to their website(s), identifying the company visiting, and all pages viewed, in what order, for how long, and capturing any email or opt-ins sent from the site. When a person sends a form, his or her name and email become part of the data saved in SS, and every visit is identified in real-time, from then on, making it easy to engage that visitor in ways that are valuable for both the company and the visitor.
  • The email marketing system is integrated with VisitorID and analytics, so it's not necessary to collect mailing data from a 3rd party mail service and match it up with site traffic from another analytics program.
  • Every lead received can be automatically categorized, assigned to a list, sent auto-replies, and assigned to specific sales or support staff. Every non-lead visitor can be scored based on traffic, identified business or carrier (provider), and easily reviewed for future attention or action.
  • The email marketing template system is improving all the time but still requires additional testing to make sure mailings work well with MS Outlook, for example.
  • Some menu systems and site navigation have a higher learning curve than others, but again, the service is continuously improving and is focused on agency success, so we're pleased with the overall improvement in usability.
SharpSpring is ideal for a business that is focused on site performance, user traffic, inbound marketing success, and growth. It's ideal for a business already investing in landing pages, content marketing, social media marketing, PPC, conversion tracking, email automation, etc., but doing it all with separate tools that need manual integration and laborious reporting work to make sense of it all. It's not appropriate for businesses focused only on having a website at a low cost, who are not interested in SEO or other performance elements, or have no marketing plan, nor budget for one.

SharpSpring is our in-house Marketing Automation tool. Although it's an all-in-one tool, we mostly use the Marketing function of the product. We use this tool with regional marketing teams, globally. It addresses our need for an agile, easy-to-use automation and email marketing tool.
  • Ease-of-use: SharpSpring is very user-friendly and intuitive. It's easy to edit or create an email, set up workflows, and navigate around the platform.
  • Versatile: SharpSpring is an all-in-one tool that you can use for your email program, sales pipeline, CRM, marketing automation, and social media.
  • Customer service: I often frequent the online help center that has a lot of easy-to-understand solutions to many questions that come up. If this doesn't solve the issue, tech support is very responsive and the account management team is also very accommodating.
  • Reporting: There are some basic reports that you can pull from the data in SharpSpring, but I would love to see some more robust reporting overall, especially with the sales feature. Aggregated reports across multiple pipelines, for example, would be great to have access to.
  • Customer segmentation: The platform could use a bit more in-depth customer segmentation features. I sometimes feel the list-building is not as intuitive as it could be.
  • Visitor ID: We have a multi-site with several language sites. It would be nice if we could track them separately vs a single root domain.
SharpSpring is great for marketing and sales teams looking for automation solutions. Although we currently run a separate CRM, it's nice to have the built-in functionality to house all the data under a single roof and across multiple teams.

My organization uses SharpSpring for sales and marketing. It does so much for each department! From tracking lead activity, to use as an RSVP tool for marketing events, to helping the sales team prioritize their calls and activities. SharpSpring is an integral part of our marketing team's success and the sales team's success.

  • SharpSpring does not sync with many CRMs that are applicable to my industry.
  • The automated emails with lead activity could visually be more streamlined or user-friendly.
  • It could be easier to automate ongoing multiple list uploads.
There may be some scenarios where SharpSpring would be less than appropriate but I'm not sure what those would be because I see it being used in so many possible ways! SharpSpring is well-suited for healthcare orgs looking to target emails and mailers for patients in the market for a new doctor or new to the area. SharpSpring can be used for financial institutions looking to engage with accountholders. It is even a great tool in the higher education sector for engaging with prospective students and alumni.

SharSpring is really an easy-to-use tool for marketing automation, meaning that it's easy to understand how the product works and navigate within the system. SharpSpring comes with various functionalities in not only automating processes but getting insights on what's happening on our websites and how to set up actions based on this. We use it in a B2B environment when its lead nurturing processes are critical and very useful.

We use it inhouse to track our customers as well as handle all data, social listening, and marketing automation. We also integrate and incorporate our clients into the umbrella underneath us to increase our service offering and ability to help.
  • Their team is second to none. You aren't just getting use of the software, you are getting an entire "marketing automation" department on your staff.
  • It does a remarkable job of covering everything. It was clearly built and designed for certain things, but there is nothing in the marketing/automation/strategy field it doesn't natively do, or seamlessly integrate.
  • The interface is simple and intuitive after an introductory break-in phase. Unlike some of its competitors whose interface feels like you need an MIT engineer. This is a simple portal, but remarkably powerful.
  • There are a few (not many) places where something that absolutely should be customizable, isn't. The main page dashboard is setup with a sales focus. That makes sense, but I don't use revenue as my KPI 80% of the time. However, my main dashboard doesn't allow me to change what it features or where. Additionally, things like client photos are handled by an external data scraper, they aren't customizable. I have a photo of every client, they didn't integrate as they are my photos and they aren't from the web. SharpSpring won't allow me to customize/add/modify certain fields, such as a photo.
  • There are dozens of social media in the world, they follow 3. I understand that they are working on the 4th. But even with it, they will still be at 1/3 of the socials I track daily.
I don't see a downside for anyone. If you own, operate, maintain or administer to any organization with an outside messaging strategy, SharpSpring is for you.

We switched from Pardot to SharpSpring and are very happy. It offers just as much functionality, possibly more, for a fraction of the price. Not only that, but with the option to resell, we are able to cover our own SharpSpring and then some. The Salesforce integration is nice, but it's unfortunate that the CRM isn't robust enough to be able to switch entirely to SharpSpring.

  • The CRM is week. We still have to use Salesforce and pay an additional $100/month for the integration, which does not work perfectly.
SharpSpring is excellent for selling marketing automation to clients. The license is cheap enough to sell, but expensive enough to easily cover our own SharpSpring costs and become another valuable service we can upsell our clients on. It's also nice that the clients get a decent CRM included as well.

I'm a very satisfied SharpSpring partner! We have been using it ourselves as CRM and automation and with our clients for about 2 years. SharpSpring does two things really well. It's a solid platform that's priced well for small and medium-sized clients, and they are constantly adding features based on partner feedback. I can only see using it more in the future.
  • Solid CRM and pipeline management.
  • Solid automation and integrations.
  • Priced well, and most alternatives are very weak.
  • Good partner model - They really value partners and want to help us improve our business.
  • We have gotten into 'spam jail' a couple of times from SharpSpring. I know they have to do it but sometimes it's our client's lists and out of our control. A bit irritating.
SharpSpring is better suited for smaller companies and tighter budgets.

We recommend SharpSpring to all of our clients. Our clients needed a CMS that could help them organize their distribution lists, watch leads from the websites, and send communications via email. We provide a short training for many of them to use it themselves and provide them custom, designed branded templates for their emails. Its easy interface is just what our clients need. The analytics are comprehensive and provide real-time data for our marketing initiatives.

We use Sharpspring as our primary marketing automation platform that we use to develop automated email workflows for our clients. The low cost, diverse features, and friendly support are perfect for our agency and our clients. We've certainly pushed the limits of the platform with some of clients and the Sharpspring team has always been very responsive with helping find the right solutions.

We use Sharpspring as a CRM system to score inbound leads and get insights into their user journeys that led them to becoming a prospect. We also heavily use the email automation functions to keep engaged with prospects, creating different sequences for different types of leads. Sharpspring is used by the entire sales and marketing team and addresses the issue of prospects dropping out of your funnel and not staying engaged with your business.
  • Email automation is very easy. You can create different sequences and then apply them to any contact within the CRM.
  • Being able to track actual leads to Google Ads is incredibly useful. It allows us to work out our true Return on Investment from the marketing channel as a whole but also gives us insight into keywords that generate the best quality leads.
  • Lead scoring is a simple and effective way of prioritizing leads.
  • It would be good to have more options on reporting, to be able to create reports you can easily customize with the data you want.
  • Perhaps I just don't know how but it would also be good to be able to add fields into the CRM to capture additional data on users.
Perfect for Sales Teams who want to view pipelines, score leads and keep engaged with them. For digital marketing teams its crucial to be able to understand where leads come from and in particular on Google ads many people don't track the quality of leads back to keywords that generate them.

We have improved the quality of leads. We have also automated the digital sales process effectively to be able to sell products and services with the satisfaction of our customers. The implementation of SharpSpring was very fast and very easy; in record time we were getting leads of excellent quality.
  • Cost versus benefit: Better support, same features to others. It has support throughout the implementation and helps sales to other customers.
  • Actually for our company it's better software for these key points: Excellent price and Benefit, Advanced automation features, Excellent support at the right time, Easy to use and easy customization and Scalable for any company size.

We use SharpSpring for our own agency as well as re-selling it to our clients. It addresses the problem of having a single portal that we can use to manage all of our marketing automation clients. The pricing is also very agency friendly so it leaves plenty of room to be able to sell it to clients at a very fair price.

We have been using SharpSpring for our website and Customer Relationship Management for 2-3 years. Not only do we find it very user-friendly, but it is very cost effective compared to competitors. In addition their tutorials and customer service is excellent.

We use SharpSpring both internally and with our clients. It has been a great solution not only with its CRM capabilities but also with the marketing automation. It is extremely user-friendly and has enough features to streamline our workflow, but not get lost in all the bells and whistles. The customer service team has also been very responsive and helpful! We are a small team and have to be very strategic about where our energy is focused and SharpSpring has allowed us to complete and track tasks improving transparency and communication across ur team.

We utilize SharpSpring to help in our lead generation and nurturing processes. We also use it to see how effective our marketing campaigns are. We use it on our website, we send emails through it and we use it to post our social media content. It is use in both our marketing and sales departments.
  • I really like their content calendar for social media, email campaigns and blog posts. It makes looking at what you have posting the entire month at a glance. When using it for clients, it makes it easy for them to see what you are doing for their company as well.
  • I like their meetings function that was just recently released.
  • I like that the features above are built into the same price. You don't have to purchase separate versions, or "hubs" if you will in order to get the functionality you want.
  • I'm not a big fan of their media upload section - specifically you can't upload videos to it. You can only link videos to it that were uploaded to other places like YouTube. While I understand the basic purpose of being able to track clicks better the way they do it, I want to be able to schedule video uploads to Facebook through Sharpspring and have the video native on Facebook as opposed to sharing it from YouTube.
  • While they have a lot of third party plugins through Zapier, I would like to see more native plugins.
  • The biggest native plugin I wish they had is a good message bot. I really miss that with my last software.
SharpSpring is very well suited for a local business. Their price points are fantastic considering the functionality you get from it. I don't know how well it would scale for a large corporate business. Since I don't work with large businesses, I could be wrong about that.

Our small marketing team of six uses SharpSpring to manage leads, and create and automate content. It helps our sales team stay organized and remember where leads are in the sales process. Our content development team uses the email tools to send monthly newsletters and uses the automation tools to send out lead magnets on our company website.
  • Customer support is fantastic. Whenever I have a question or run into an issue, they are always so quick to respond with a helpful answer.
  • Lead management and tracking tools are helpful. Knowing who is on your site, on what pages, and for how long has been really nice. Also, the ability to customize the sales pipeline makes organization a breeze for our sales team.
  • The automation/workflow feature is really easy to use and makes life so easy.
  • The landing page development tools are a bit difficult to navigate during the first few page builds. The landing page development is also pretty basic, unless you're savvy with coding.
  • The form builder doesn't have the ability to do conditional logic.
SharpSpring works well for our sales team, who manages leads and business coming in. I, as a part of the content development team, personally avoid using the landing page builder. For one, we have to create a subdomain for the landing page, so the URL looks a bit weird, especially when using for PPC campaigns. And secondly, the landing page development tool is very basic. Unless you know how to code, your landing page is going to be fairly plain. I enjoy the tool for sending out emails and building automatons.

SharpSpring is being used as a sales tool to engage prospects, keep on top on activity, and nurture these through to closed sales. It helps us as a business to ensure that no opportunity is missed and that we are speaking to new business prospects at the right time and with the right messaging. It is very easy to use and so it has allowed us to run mini-campaigns targeting different sectors and the reporting and analysis tools are exceptional. Since we stared using it it has made our sales and marketing operations a lot more efficient and allowed us to keep on top of activity.

We use this as a tool for our business and also for our clients. As part of our business growth system, we advise clients need to set up the tools and systems to achieve maximum results. SharpSpring is like a swiss army knife of marketing tools and systems.

We have leveraged the tool for clients to assist with Lead Generation, Automated Responses & Drip Campaigns. We have also utilized the CRM component and Lead Scoring and SMART emails to nurture relationships.

More recently we utilized the event and calendar functionality to promote local events and online webinars. The ability to set up the system once and have it customized dynamically based on user behavior is very helpful and time-saving. While there are a lot of other companies out there that offer similar services, we recommend SharpSpring as a solution for businesses who are serious about taking their marketing to the next level. We appreciate the company and its team. They do a great job for their clients.

As a marketing and communications professional with over 25 years experience, I have a good intuition for creative campaigns that work, however refining the message to the target audience and fine-tuning my communications skills to suit that particular audience adds value for my career prospects as well as my customers' campaign effectiveness.
  • Targeted communications - Segmented audiences for finely honed communication tone and language.
  • Automation - Automated trigger responses and passive actions on my behalf.
  • CRM managing sales through the pipeline - Reminders about actions and provocation material for the sometimes dreaded sales follow-up.
  • Pricepoint - There has been some feedback on more cost-effective competition in the market.
  • Not a fan of the name.
  • Diversity of the scope of functions is sometimes overwhelming for clients - A more graduated learning curve would be more readily adopted as people are averse to change.
SharpSpring would be more ideally suited to SMEs or larger corporations. Startups are not really in the price bracket. I would also recommend that the user have a marketing division or even part-time person dedicated to marketing and social. If there is not a very talented or full time creative or writer on board, it is less effective.
