Bullhorn ATS & CRM

Bullhorn is only appropriate for staffing/recruiting agencies, or internal corporate recruiters. It is made to track jobs, candidates, placements, and is not well suited for any other scenario. Bullhorn integrates with other, more robust software for sales and leads gen, but itself is not a sales or lead gen tool. Bullhorn works best when you integrate with the other services you're already using, like your background screening vendor, phone service, or other analytics tools.

It is fantastic for our division that focuses on scientific staffing. We have many clients, but we're not a staffing agency and still hire full-time employees directly. It's not too simple like other systems- we appreciate all the options and how robust it is

I have been using it for the last four years and in most of the cases it worked amazingly. There is no scenario where it was less appropriate. I really like reporting and hot list features. It helps me to save a lot of time and effort. Moreover, there are such instances where my company needs to fetch the data of hires and it works amazingly well.

  • Candidate Management- it is very easy to track and search your candidates. Candidates are the heart of your ATS in staffing and Bullhorn does a great job of making those candidates accessible.
  • Job Order Management-Being able to keep your job orders managed in a way that keeps you closest to money is a one of the best parts of the system. You can filter your lists, schedule your followups and keep on top of the orders that are the most urgent.
  • Configuration- the ability to configure the tool to the look and feel that matches your business.
  • Bullhorn CRM allows Account Managers to do their prospecting without cluttering the Company and Contact List with Company and Contacts that are not buyers or individuals that do not using staffing, not decision makers, etc. Leads allows AM's to pursue those individual within a different entity until they are vetted as buyers. The opportunities allow you to track those longer range opportunities versus storing them in a notebook or on an excel document. They become company IP for down the road.
  • Configuration of the CRM is huge asset. We have changed and configured our workflow several times over the past few years until we have decided on the workflow we want to move forward with. The tool allowed us to make these changes as we saw fit and without the time and cost of having to go through a PS channel.
  • The Lead and Opportunity dashboards help to keep you on track in a visual way so you can see the time cycle of your leads and opportunities.

  • Profiles are highly customizable.
  • Once set up properly, its approval processes are quite easy to operate by all users.

  • JobDiva has excellent integration with outside tools. For example it syncs with Outlook and Google Calendar. We also use a text messaging tool called TextUs and it is totally seamless and painless to set up.
  • JobDiva continuously adds new features to help our organization. Even small changes can make a world of difference! For example, it indicates for us when a candidate has "opened" one of our email merges! So we know when a candidate has read our email but has not replied or responded to our communications. It allows us to create Hotlists so we can build better pipelines of candidates.
  • Templates are also easy to create in JobDiva! We can customize messages and communications that we send out to candidates and workers.

  • If there is a chain of commands that need signatures, it would be nice to be able to push the document through instead of a hard copy.
  • Sometimes the drop-down functions don't match exact scenarios, it would be nice to be able to edit OTHER with an explanation.
  • It would be nice to connect the Recruitment side, to match when a candidate is added to the database by another recruiter but is actually a skill match for a requirement that you have been assigned to as the primary recruiter.
  • Being able to assign who is the Primary Recruiter, especially if working on a team of Recruiters

  • Auto-launch options could more clearly defined, they are difficult to set up.
  • The social distribution could be more configurable as far as the ad content instead of a boring standard template; needs to have the capability to add graphics and images to create attractive ads for social media.

  • Finding Junior Candidates. It becomes a tough task when we get the requisitions from client that are of lower level.
  • The JobDiva harvests resumes after 1-2 days they are uploaded on the job portal. I personally experienced it when I was using Careerbuilder simultaneously and saw a few candidates which appeared on the portal which came 1-2 days later into JobDiva's database.
  • There is no option to look for resumes at two different Zip Codes simultaneously. For example, if a job accepts candidates from local to two particular cities (in different states), there needs to be an option to enter the zip code of the respective cities.

We have about 2 years left on our current contract; It would take a major change in the ATS marketplace for us to strongly consider opting out of renewal given the time and effort we have dedicated to building our our Bullhorn system. I will take the time to revisit with some of the competition down the road, but Bullhorn acquired our runner up, MaxHire, about a year back and continues to offer a solid product suite for our current and future needs.

It isn't the best ATS out there. It lacks on both the recruitment and sales side. There is no way to differentiate between prospects, candidates, and clients. There isn't a way to merge accounts and names, so there are many duplicates. Too may paid add ons. I had a much longer review written up and the page just deleted it, but I wouldn't recommend Bullhorn first or even third. It feels like it hasn't been fully realized yet. There are certainly some good things about the product, but more areas where they can improve.

The program has a very steep learning curve, especially for those who have not used an applicant tracking system previously. But once your team begins to learn the product, it seems that there is no limit to what it can do. We have been using the system for almost three years and we are constantly learning new things that help streamline our work.

Its easy to use for me. but a few of my recruiters having difficulty using it. They have problems with mail merge, opting out from mail merge. They are also unable to find other options like applicants, doing some basic settings, sending mail merge again and again for the same job, avoiding sending emails to uninterested candidates etc.

There is always ample advance notice before the software goes down for maintenance and this is usually done at off-peak hours. As for system failures - I can't think of any that have effected us in over two years od use.

Over all I think JobDiva works well. It has some issues from time to time, but the support staff seems to handle it quickly. The major issue is the email merges getting black listed as spam. That takes away a very important JobDiva feature. That is our major functionality complaint these days

It's been a nightmare experience. The initial sales team were brilliant, and the customer service is great from the tech team - they get in touch with you quickly. However; I was often finding workarounds myself, or being advised workarounds instead of having issues resolved (example - The DPA/Non DPA issue - an Excel spreadsheet can do this, yet a CRM cannot?).I was debited on the incorrect date & then when I requested they refund until the due date, I was re-debited again on the correct date. The communication was poor - their billing team are based in the US and there was no acknowledgement of the mistake. My initial consultant chased them down for me, and advised me of their error. Lucky. The product was oversold. For example; I was advised their 'merge docs' feature would allow me to pull data directly from the 'Overview,' 'Work Histories' which later proved to be false. Finally, when I requested to end my contract & transfer my data (I advised a specific date I needed it, when my CRM would be ready) they advised it would take 15 business days & I was to put no further data in my system during that 15 days, and then gave me my data after 3. I now have no CRM for 4 weeks

The support during the design and implementation was nothing short of amazing. We were able to design an easy to use but data robust system. Post-implementation we have bi-weekly calls with our account manager and technical account manager which ensure we are not "setting it and forgetting it." We are continuously improving the system.

I would rate the JobDiva support on a good level as they contact the customers without a delay but don't have much to assist when it comes to features and reports. I worked on an enhancement request with them and the back & forth communication was great but the result was not achieved. Still waiting for a resolution on the enhancement request (a good 6 months have passed by).

Bullhorn has a complete integrated feature where it speaks with Outlook; makes parsing candidates who submit their data and resume simple. This is effective when you are running a 360 desk as it saves time and helps you focus on prospecting for clients and candidates. Often times when the software is hard to navigate through or requires many steps to complete one entry, it becomes discouraging and you're less eager to enter the data properly.

We looked at ZipRecruiter as well, but decided on iCIMS due to how they met our requirements and their price point. I also liked their templates, automated notifications, and reporting better than ZipRecruiter. However, ZipRecruiter wasn't a bad option. It was a close call ultimately decided by senior management. I think we would have been fine either way.

JobDiva is a bit more detail-oriented rather than just being ambiguous. JobDiva, in my opinion, is more user-friendly than the rest of the ATS solutions I mentioned. Search results vary from requisition to requisition, and JobDiva may be slightly behind the rest of the ATS solutions (but it makes up for it in other areas).

  • The adoption of iCIMS across our business has provided a great deal of visibility into our processes. The integrations we've made with vendors (pre-employment screening, assessments, WOTC, etc) have provided us with the opportunity to use this technology as a way to reduce process variance across the enterprise and the benefit of that to an HR function cannot be overstated! Process consistency means better workforce analytics, improved compliance, easier system administration and training, and a better end user and candidate experience. iCIMS has been the vehicle by which we are improving our HR processes.

  • When used it adds value in so many ways; time saving, money saving in that once information is pulled in or entered in - it does not have to be researched again - it is there for future
  • The old if someone gets hit by a bus scenario, JobDiva allows for the bus to keep going.
