We run monthly phishing campaigns for our end users, with training included. Typical training includes videos as well as training based on the number of times that fail. We see a lot of spam emails come through since we deal with vendors from all sorts of countries. Dialing in our phishing campaigns to fit our use case is why we went with KnowBe4.
  • Training Videos.
  • Custom Templates.
  • Macro Enabled campaigns.
  • Integration with email filters such as Mimecast.
This product will greatly increase user interaction with their emails. Many of our users are careful to click on emails pertaining to sensitive information such as banking information, secure files, PII, etc. We get 4x the amount of submissions to our phishing email mailbox than before without knowbe4. This platform gave us great visibility into our users minds on how they treat phishy emails.

We complete our compliance to offer Security Training. We use KnowBe4 Security Awareness Training for general cyber awareness training and insider threat training for our employees. We run several phishing campaigns throughout the year. We have seen an increase in user awareness, especially with phishing emails, not only in the training but also from real phishing emails.
  • High quality video training
  • Allow us to add our own video training and documents like policies
  • Customer support is very good
  • For what we use, they are always improving and do things well.
  • They are always innovating new products.
  • They are always listen to customer needs for improvements.
Some of the best security awareness and phishing training and best phishing campaigns out there today. Also, they have very insightful and informational video webinars on different security subjects. The newsletter informs us of ongoing phishing campaigns and other threats. Our employees like the training and have asked how we can share it with others.

It's used by all employees in the organization to better understand online risks and be aware of steps to take in various situations. We deal with large amounts of data and numerous vendors and it teaches all employees how to protect that data and to be alert when a situation arises online
  • Videos
  • Simple explanations of the risks
  • Guides you through how to handle the situations and risks
  • Could address more about GDPR as it's becoming more common
  • Could provide more examples of phishing scams because they are evolving all the time
  • Branch out and include more examples of other security threats
It's well suited for any employees who use a computer at work. The training will provide good examples of phishing scams and how to spot them and what actions should be taken when you do encounter these situations. The training is less appropriate for company employees who don't touch a computer in their role within the company. Most of the examples in this video won't apply to those people.

We have been using KnowBe4 for our phishing campaigns on a periodic basis with phishing education. We will be using the social engineering campaigns for all associates starting this year in collaboration with our compliance department. Also thinking of using KnowBe4 for all of our compliance-related training if we can find the correct modules.
  • Super easy to use for an administrator.
  • Built-in ability to remind users to take training
  • New templates are always being added for phishing campaigns
  • Some functionality requires newer version of Office.
  • Number of training modules is overwhelming.
KnowBe4 is a leader in this space for a reason. They have nailed the phishing campaigns with ease of use, good selection of templates, and easy to manage follow-ups with users. It really has an upside for future training and will become the base of our information security training going forward.

In our environment, KnowBe4 is used to heighten awareness of phishing and spearphishing attempts as well as test our user base with phishing emails. We use this to train and retrain our employees to recognize the common tells in a phishing email and what they should do rather than click on a link. During a campaign, if someone clicks on one of the links, they are immediately made aware of their mistake and asked to take a quick microlesson to reinforce why the email was a phishing email.
  • Identify individuals that may need more training.
  • Encourage users to utilize the "fishhook" to help get clarity if they are unsure of an email.
  • Give our users comfort knowing that they can identify phishing emails and protect the company from threats.
  • Campaigns can be a little daunting to setup.
  • Some of the training is campy like the Hacker Christmas gift exchange.
  • If you have mobile users they do not have a simple way to flag a potential phishing email like a laptop user can.
This is well suited for users that have access to a desktop or laptop, less so for a worker that only uses a cellphone or small tablet. We had excellent results working in our environment and saw click-through rates drop dramatically by the second month of training. I think it is a good fit for our office workers but less so for workers in the field. There needs to be buy-in from management for this to be successful; as an IT project, it would fail because without management buy-in, there is no incentive to take time from everyday work.

Every employee annually must go thru the training; it's a great tool for us! we have an annual process which employees must complete the training, and any new employee is prompted to complete the KnowBe4 training. KnowBe4 training exposes new and veteran employees to threats both external and internal.
  • Security awareness for employees.
  • Security training for new employees on company policies.
  • Makes employees more vigilant to security issues.
  • Exposes employees to both external and internal risks and how to mitigate
  • Maybe a little more in depth training.
  • Focus on cyber security threats.
  • Additional employee engagement.
Very well suited to educate our employees on the risks/dangers of security issues and threats. Annually our employees must take the KnowBe4 Security Awareness Training. New employees are prompted when signing on to the network via email to complete KnowBe4 training.

We use KnowBe4 with the simulated emails, training, and most recently the addition of the PhishER function. It has for sure helped our staff be more mindful of the emails they receive. With the way, cybersecurity is today having that line of defense in our users is a top priority. Having the simulated tests sent out on a schedule that is completely random is very helpful. I do not have to sit in the console and manually pick or create emails all the time. Being able to train them on what to look for in terms of phishing, training on how to be secure with working from home, and all the other training modules are very helpful. Finally, add in the PhishER piece with the Phish Alert button. This way a user can click a suspicious email, the phishing alert, then put it into a place where IT can investigate it with PhishER. Love every bit of it!
  • Simulated Email Tests
  • Quick Phishing training modules
  • Customer support is very quick and responsive
  • Easy to use
  • Can set it up and not have to micromanage
  • Seeing what users activated the PhishAlert button would be handy
The phishing training games to help train our users have been very helpful. The 5-minute phishing training games have been super helpful, especially as just a quick reminder on what to look for. As a company that has a lot of shop technicians working on tractors and mowers, it would be helpful for some training modules to have videos similar to this and not always in a corporate setting.

Phish awareness campaigns for the organization to improve user awareness of security issues. This automates the training process and identifies users that fall short in their awareness of security risks, and provides user-friendly training that is also effective. Training is adding good value for our users and their security awareness.
  • Good training modules
  • Good Phishing simulations
  • Good statistics on the results of the phishing tests
  • user friendly training
  • configuration of campaigns could be improved by allowing for more detailed configuration
  • More training simulation variety
  • make applications compatible with more platforms
Well suited for all sizes of companies as it is adaptable. It is appropriate in all scenarios. I have implemented it effectively in both large and smaller organizations. I have used competing products and the KnowBe4 training is superior in many areas, including implementation and maintenance.

We use KnowBe4 Security Awareness Training to provide cybersecurity training to every employee 4 times per year. We also use it to do monthly phishing tests (emails) to every employee. We believe these satisfy questions we sometimes see on cyber liability insurance and IT audit questionnaires and therefore help us to comply with various standards or other requirements.
  • self-paced security training for every employee
  • Phishing emails
  • overall organizational score based on results of these activities
  • easy administration
  • I am not aware of a mobile app, and many people would probably use it if there were one (or if I knew about it and could tell them)
  • Sometimes the videos try to be "cute" and perhaps that works for some, but I don't find it to be my preference. I suppose having that option is fine... and the admin just doesn't have to include in the "menu" for their employees.
Companies that don't currently have a method of providing cybersecurity training to employees should take a look at KnowBe4 Security Awareness Training to satisfy this need. Cyber liability insurers will certainly ask if a security training program is in place. Fully and properly implemented, KnowBe4 Security Awareness Training is a great and easy way to say "yes" to that question.

We use KnowBe4 Security Awareness as our mandatory annual, organization wide security training. Our staff (users) don't have much tech savviness and it's hard to find a training that is both thorough (in quality and scope) and entertaining so that people don't just click through it to comply with the policy.
  • Entertaining and interactive
  • Large variety of information security topics
  • Role based training modules with the Level 3 tier
  • ADA accessibility (usability) is not 100% on some of their flagship products
It's well suited to engage an audience that has a limited attention span and not a lot of tech savviness. So far we have received excellent feedback regarding the training modules.

We use KB4 for security awareness training throughout the entire organization. We test users monthly, along with using one of the awareness training modules as our annual training for all users. We use their monthly newsletter - Security Awareness News as a monthly newsletter to share with our users.
  • Offers a "lot" of templates for training emails.
  • Offers a "lot" of training aids - media, newsletters, etc.
  • Excellent customer support.
  • Integration with Google Workspace Enterprise.
  • Maybe some better reporting features.
KB4 training is suited for any level of user. We use templates that are fairly easy, as well as those that even make a seasoned IT person stop and really think. There training modules are excellent and we use several of them in our ongoing training for computer security awareness, handling sensitive information and PCI-DSS training.

We use the security awareness training module to provide consistent training across the organization to meet our compliance requirements for our security plan. It's being used to help avoid potential problems by making our users keenly aware of the dangers that can affect our organization through phishing and other email scams.
  • You can track each user or group's compliance so you know if everyone has been trained or not.
  • The software offers a customized setup for each campaign including custom email notifications.
  • The library offers a wide range of videos that cover many current topics of interest.
  • User management can be difficult to maintain.
  • Phishing campaigns can be thwarted by Gmail's internal security features.
  • My users appreciate the training videos with some user interaction so more of those would be nice.
The training videos are easy to understand, even for non-technical users, so everyone benefits and gets something from the training.

KnowBe4 is mainly being used for Assigning AUP and awareness training for new onboarded users. The Phishing tool is also heavily used for reporting suspected spam emails. We have been using KnowBe4 for monitoring awareness among users through various multi-lingual campaigns and for different regions. This tool has been great in monitoring user behaviors.
  • This tool helps in building multi-layer security not just by tools but also through training employees.
  • This tool has various language support for awareness trainings.
  • KnowBe4 is not just a training tool but also helps in keeping employees motivated through a vast collection of videos.
  • Reporting of Non Compliance through aggregated reports is not easy to set up.
  • Integrating with SOAR tools can be a functionality.
  • Option to auto-monitor SPAM email and action/quarantine them may be another functionality to be added.

We utilize the training as part of our staff onboarding and then utilize the phishing module to send test messages to keep users engaged and aware of the security issues. We also utilize a weekly educational email to educate staff.
  • Ease of use
  • Comprehensive solution
  • Effective training
  • More robust policy management
  • Engagement/integration into MS Teams
This is a "must-have" product for any organization. Do not underestimate or rely too heavily on technical solutions - your best defense is the education of your users. It is also the most difficult to do but it will pay the largest benefits. Reward proper behavior of users and keep them engaged. This system makes it easy.

We currently use KnowBe4 for Security Awareness training of all employees on a regular basis. We also use their various print materials around the office as reminders. We use the phish simulation testing to help gauge the learning of our employees and help define follow-up testing when needed. The phish-alert button for Outlook has been a strong tool for employees to report suspicious emails for our review.
  • Strong choice of training materials.
  • Excellent phishing test campaigns.
  • Easy to use phish reporting capabilities.
  • Their phishing campaign would benefit from the ability to save progress when creating the campaign, should you find the need to make changes in Group membership, prior to deployment.
  • Their phish-RIP system, while powerful, is not easy to learn, and could be enhanced with more automated features.
KnowBe4 training is suited to ALL employees from the CEO on down. Training covers email phishing, voice phishing, text phishing, social engineering, etc. There is no one in a company who should not be fully educated on all of these topics, as every single person represents an area of risk. More specific training can also be aimed at certain groups, such as Accounting or Executives.

Day after day, like most of us are, we are bombarded by phishing threats. Most of these our users catch, however there are the occasional ones that even I have to do a double take on. The attacks are getting more sophisticated, and therefore our alert levels must rise. KnowBe4's training allows me to focus on security and not on training the users. I can easily get a list of users that clicked on a phishing test link and then send them some supplemental training so that it doesn't happen again (or at least as often). An organization's security is only as good as its weakest link and KnowBe4 helps me harden the chain.
  • Easy to understand.
  • Easy to send to users.
  • Instant feedback when training is completed.
  • Make them more fun.
  • More variety.
  • A few designed for very low-tech skilled workers.
Overall, KnowBe4's training is a great thing. They really get to the heart of the issue and allow me to issue training to users that need it. It lets me focus on keeping my organization safe and not on training the users how to spot a phishing email. However, there are cases where it is not as useful. Some people learn better in person rather than online so this doesn't work quite as well.

KnowBe4 Security Awareness Training has been a major benefit in helping all our users be more aware of the dangers of phishing emails. While we, of course, continue to experience ups and downs with people successfully passing phishing simulations, our overall security posture has dramatically improved throughout the years of using KnowBe4. We recently introduced it to our international staff, leveraging the multi-lingual capabilities of KnowBe4's training.
  • Better educated staff, in the context of security.
  • The Inside Man series has generated a lot of excitement and attention on security awareness.
  • Incorporating quizzes into the video content is a great way to help ensure users are really paying attention.
  • Our global presence has presented some challenges in managing the content across multiple countries - creating some improved structure around that would be helpful.
KnowBe4 Security Awareness Training is well-suited to users of a broad range of technical acumen. People from entry-level acumen up to expert-level are challenged by phishing simulations. KB4's ability to tie into your Active Directory environment, which enables it to create more complicated phishing simulations, is very beneficial to escalating the complexity level. I do not see any scenarios where KB4's solution is less appropriate/inapplicable.

We use them for training videos and phishing tests. We hope to help people think before they click and slow down and really read before they click on anything or take any actions. We also hope to use the data to inform managers and upper management how important it is to think before you click. We send all new employees some new hire training and quarterly training for everyone. We also send out at least 2 phishing attempts per month. We send anyone who fails phishing tests to additional training with the understanding that after 4-5 failures, HR involvement will take place with possible termination.
  • Providing tools for the user to use on a real life basis
  • Provides real time feedback on who needs support or additional training.
  • Allows the user to check status of training and phishing tests
  • Allows managers the ability to check on status of employees.
  • Admin tools are clunky and not always clear on how to use or how it works
  • I would like to see the auto archiving which happens when an error occurs, email or notify the admin.
  • I would like to have a better understanding of how smart groups can be better utilized.
  • AIDA optional learning would not select pre selected (or future use) trainings but would allow past used trainings.
Security awareness is well suited to our US employees because of the training, which is geared towards US cultures and understandings. I think the cultural differences in the videos and trainings, as well as any local colloquialism, may be harder for other cultures and groups to get the most out of them. The humor, understandings, and general thoughts about a lot of things are very different for our Asia partners.

KnowBe4 is used by the entire company. We use it to promote security awareness, for regular phishing campaigns and for training modules.

Our employees tend not to be able to recognize phishing e-mails, that is, they often cannot tell the difference between phishing and real e-mail. We use KnowBe4 for phishing simulations, awareness training and reporting of phishing messages using a button in Microsoft Outlook. Training employees is not a project but a returning activity and this is where KnowBe4 shines.
  • Create real-looking phishing e-mails with easy to use templates
  • Track user progress and offer related modules
  • Automatically add a user to a training module if they fail a phishing test
  • Don't send phishing simulations to employees that are on (sick) leave
  • Integrate PhishER SSO timeout with the main KnowBe4 SSO settings
  • Offer localized training modules more quickly, we often need to wait for the translation
It is well suited for those that are comfortable with designing their own training programme, or have this done by a partner. Those who expect it to run by itself will find out that you need to select the modules from the library and then create the training with them.
The phishing simulations however can be created in such a way that they keep running for a longer time and learn from the user's activity.
