Companies can't remove reviews or game the system. Here's why

The main benefit we've received lies within the increased collaboration between the office and the field. Our designers work out of the office, while our construction supervisors (CS) work in the field. Often times, in the days before Procore, we were finding that the CS was solving issues on site—For example, equipment clearance, conduit collisions, incorrect elevations, etc.—and this information was not making its way back tot he designers. When design issues or questions would subsequently come to the design team, they were working with out of date information because they were unaware of the changes that had occurred in the field. With Procore, most of this pain has been eliminated.

We have definitely benefited. The field has really jumped in with the mobile app and used the field reports, drawings, and submittals as well. It seems really helpful for them to be able to go into the project they are currently supervising and be able to get everything they need. It is also beneficial that you can see what other people have added and it all goes to the same place so there is less confusion. The cloud-based access is great. I also love the submittal process where everyone involved in that submittal is notified when a response is submitted, distributed and closed. It takes care of time-saving and sending emails individually.

We have benefited. Our superintendents like being able to access the most current drawings. Our subcontractors are pleased with the pay application process. Owners like being "in the loop" with RFIs and submittals.

We've definitely benefited from the cloud capability, we were constantly upgrading our servers and needing more space. This has allowed us to feel up considerable space on our servers. Also, being a cloud-based system it comes in handy while out of town to be able to answer most questions pertaining to a project without being at my work station. We're hoping to get more of the field guys using the mobile app as we know that would allow even more time saving and consistency through the course of construction.

Absolutely. Our organization has large projects with large teams that require a lot of communication. The subcontractors being able to join into the conversation for free has benefited us greatly. It means that on each of our projects, each subcontractor receives communication in the same way, it is all documented and there are no questions about that. It also means that if personnel on projects are interchanged, they know where to go to find information, because it is always in the same place.

We use the system across multiple locations and to collaborate between stakeholders. There is a small learning curve for individuals that have not used it before, but that has been relatively easy to overcome. It definitely helps remove the friction between stakeholder and the field.

This is very beneficial in making sure everyone is on the same page. One great feature of Procore is the drawings tool. When you pull up a drawing, you know you are looking at the most up to date drawings. This prevents people working from older drawings, which can cause a lot of problems down the road.

Absolutely, the program is very proficient in sharing information to multiple users seamlessly. We have seen a big buy in from our subcontractors, especially since they are not charged to use the program. The mobile apps are free, cost is not incurred to use the program through our companies subscription, and it is a user friendly system. We have seen our productivity and efficiency increase since implementing this program. I believe this is mainly due to the ability to quickly distribute vital information to the program team and eliminates the field guys waiting on hard copies of drawings, submittals, etc.

Having the cloud based access is very helpful in getting real-time updates from the job site while several of the team members are stationed in the office or traveling to other locations. This allows the PM to manage the various projects and find out what is happening without having to be at each site all day. Accessing reports, documents, drawings is so important and not having to be in the office or at a laptop to obtain this information is so valuable.

We have started to allow access externally but on a very limited basis. Full access is provided to our internal staff whether they be in the office or field-based. However, we are taking baby steps in implementing access to owners, architects, and subcontractors/suppliers. We need to be 100% comfortable with the Procore system and its use to ensure will do not allow external users access to items we feel should remain internal. We understand that until we fully implement the external collaboration of a project, we will not see the full benefit of the Procore system.

Yes, especially on our South Dakota projects, the owner is able to review photos and reports on job activity, and we've used it often with subcontractors to make sure they're up to date on their portions of the project. We've also started using the assigned task functions, and that is working well for us.

The cloud-based software has its own set of problems. We have recorded many "downtime" instances with Procore over the past couple of years. But, the benefit is certainly there with cloud-based software.

This has been a big disappointment with Procore for us. While we have our subcontractors on board for billing - Procore needs to improve the functionality here to make it really useful.

Owners and architects all have their own software packages and most do not want to take the time to learn another. Despite our efforts, most prefer to have e-mails sent to them (with pdfs generated from Procore). We have had a handful of architects that approve submittals, and some owners that log in to see photos. The ones that make the effort have given some positive feedback

Having the capability of giving direct access to the owner of the project has been a great advantage since it keeps them informed of what is going on, and when their involvement is necessary. In our business, sometimes only the owner can put pressure on the design team. Procore has helped us in keeping the owner informed of when a reply from the design team is overdue or about to be, triggering immediate responses.

In construction you are always working from remote locations and that being said, cloud based applications are the right direction. We have found other ways to access our server however, if you want a secure way to share and view documents, it works well.

The unlimited user licenses are very handy when the same users may need access across a few projects on Procore. Most of the site supervisors need access in order to view the drawings. If these were tied to limits it would reduce how Procore could be used on site.
