I am using Oracle Eloqua as the marketing automation tool. It helps us automate our customer journeys, nurture them, assign lead scores and send the qualified leads to the sales team. We run all our product promotions, event promotions etc through Eloqua itself and it has been serving the purpose pretty good for us.
  • Lead Nurturing
  • Automation through Program Canvas
  • Lead Scoring
  • Integration with native apps
  • Custom Data Object Management
  • Real time based email triggers
  • Customer Support is very bad
  • Initial setup is quite complex
Eloqua is one of the best platform for your marketing automation journey, email marketing, lead nurturing etc but when it comes to real time event based email marketing then it still lacks behind as there are some other tools in the market which provide us that feature.

Our marketing department has become dependant on this tool in a very short span. Starting from its analytics, which provides us with the multiple graphs that support analysis and tracking and this ultimately leads us to analyze the performance and visitor’s behavior as well. We can find new and potential clients and allow many customizations. Data collection and sharing are other major important factors that lead the business.
  • We are managing marketing via emails using it and hence I can claim that its email marketing is transcendent.
  • We can interpret and analyze data as well.
  • The insight it provides and analytics are quite helpful for us.
  • The level of Flexibility.
  • Mobile access.
  • Sometimes it starts working automatically and installs the data which is incorrect and I really need the Oracle team to get it fixed.
  • It hasn’t provided any update for long.
  • Not a user-friendly marketing automation tool.
I would highly recommend this software to business owners who desire to have managed marketing processes. It is flexible, provides insights, and helps in analyzing data. marketing departments of almost all the companies either huge or small can get the advantage of it and I wish they get their future endeavors and this tool will help them for sure.

Oracle Eloqua is being used in our marketing and sales department for almost a year and this has been a wonderful experience of campaign management. My team and I have found it highly flexible when it comes to data management. Moreover, it is amazing for lead management and gives us leverage to track the online behavior of the clients and we can do their segmentation as well.
  • Automated email responses provide supports in creating a better relationship with the clients.
  • The way it allows the tracking of online behavior is extensive.
  • It is amazing in handling the bulk of data and records as well.
  • It facilitates us with the graphical representation of the performance of our campaign which helps in better understanding.
  • Reports need to be more detailed and equipped with all the nitty-gritty detail in a precise manner.
  • The cost is quite outrageous and I am not satisfied with such a high price as it is the highest among all its competitors.
  • A complicated tool that demands brainstorming.
Oracle is a credible name for us as we have heard massively about it and Oracle Eloqua stands out among all other such tools. Campaigns can be easily managed using it and it is great for all companies irrespective of their sizes. The features like lead generation, data management, and enablement tool, all are helpful for marketers.

Oracle CX Marketing is used by specific departments in our organization. The platform helps to unify all prospects and customer marketing signals in a single view. It helps with gauging real-time performances and also helps in retaining customer loyalty.
  • Real-time performance measurement
  • Cross-channel marketing
  • Critical campaign can be handled smoothly
  • The price is expensive as compared to other options
  • Long implementation process
  • The sync time between the platform and the CRM is slow at times
Oracle CX Marketing platform is well suited for organizations that require better campaign management with better segmentation and lead creation.

Oracle CX Marketing is used as the primary marketing engine at the company - to drive all marketing campaigns and programs. It was used for lead scoring and orchestration, list segmentation, customer journey mapping - and connected to Salesforce to provide end-to-end visibility into the customer journey. We also used it for content creation, publication, and insights from our web properties.
  • Campaign management is very easy and intuitive to send out email campaigns and build workflows.
  • Support for multi-channel campaigns not limited to emails - works well as a CDP that provides a 360 view of a prospect/customer.
  • Good integration with CRM (Salesforce).
  • Implementation and roll-out wasn't very easy and had some hiccups
  • Lead scoring is not as intuitive as other similar programs
  • Onboarding and training lacked resources
Some scenarios where Oracle CX Marketing is good at:
1) Providing a 360 view of the customer/prospect
2) Accepts 1st and 3rd party data to build prospect profiles
3) Easily integrates with most major SaaS MarTech products

Some scenarios where less so are:
1) Automating Ad Campaigns wasn't very easy to manage.
2) ABM campaigns faced challenges due to how the interface is set up.

Eloqua was great for our users! The stars and chili peppers really allowed our sales team to understand hot and cold leads. Sending emails was easy.
  • Lead scoring
  • Email engagement
  • Not as user friendly
Oracle CX Marketing is very handy when it comes to keeping your contacts engaged and your sales reps informed. It’s appropriate for micro marketing

We are using Oracle CX Marketing (formerly Oracle Marketing Cloud) within our marketing department for segmentation by preferences, location, requests, and other criteria. Also, planning and automating email, demand generation, and content campaigns. And, seeing a summary of customer behavior and online activity, and receiving real-time website visitor alerts. It is connected to our CRM so other departments get all the relevant information regarding campaigns and leads.
  • Campaign management is very easy and intuitive to send out email campaigns
  • Possibility of working with various channels
  • Synchronization with CRM; new contacts are added automatically
  • Lead scoring could be more robust
  • Setting up the platform is not easy
  • Long implementation process
Oracle Eloqua could be good for B2B marketers to track customers through all phases of the buying cycle. Marketers can create targeted campaigns through multiple channels, such as email, social, mobile, web, and search. They can also track and analyze the results of their campaigns with built-in analytical tools.

Oracle Marketing Cloud is best suited for medium, large, and enterprise companies.

We use Oracle Eloqua to create marketing campaigns to send our B2B clients marketing emails. Multiple departments at our company use Eloqua globally to serve their digital marketing purposes. We integrate Eloqua with Salesforce to allow our account executives to view our clients' digital journey and to allow them to follow up with the potential clients to complete the buying cycle.
  • Oracle Eloqua has powerful functions and features that allow our campaign designers to implement the campaign flows the way we need to achieve our complex business processes.
  • Oracle Eloqua provides lots of integration points with other B2B products, such as CVENT, Linkedin, ON24, Salesforce, etc. Once the integrations are connected, the data flows directly and systematically between multiple systems. It eliminates a lot of manual process and human errors.
  • Oracle Eloqua also provides rich reporting capabilities for marketers to view their campaign performance.
  • Some people found it hard to get started using the tool as it does take a bit of training to get used to.
  • It's not cheap.
  • Some people don't like the user interface.
Oracle Eloqua is well suited for our B2B marketing functions as we need a lot of integration points to other B2B products in the market to fulfill our full customer journey. Oracle Eloqua is less appropriate for B2C marketing as it can become very expensive when the number of accounts grows.

Oracle CX Marketing (formerly Oracle Marketing Cloud) is being used by our marketing department to automate our marketing operations and strategies. It helps us to execute our email marketing and lead nurturing processes while integrating with our SalesForce CRM for effective lead management.
  • It has an amazing A/B testing mechanism, which helps to test different assets
  • It provides features such as dynamic content and progressive profiling for personalization
  • Easy creation of landing pages and web forms
  • The platform can be a bit confusing; the same is true of the process for setting up segments
  • The platform is expensive as compared to similar products that offer similar features
  • Customization is difficult after a process has been automatically scheduled
Oracle CX Marketing (formerly Oracle Marketing Cloud) is well suited for an organization that wants to practice lead nurturing and automate their marketing efforts while saving on investments. Also it is effective mainly in organizations that have a technical marketing specialist in house to manage the platform as data and workflows, as they can be complicated. Organizations that just focus on one-to-one email sends would not be able to fully utilize the platform, especially considering the high cost of the tool.

We are using Oracle CX Marketing (formerly Oracle Marketing Cloud) to acquire and nurture our B2B leads. We are using Eloqua for our marketing automation. We have integrated it with SalesForce (CRM)
  • Built-in integration between Eloqua and SalesForce
  • Tableau for reporting
  • Integration with sales cloud or other CRM systems is a great feature
  • Excellent lead scoring abilities. You can create custom models using weight-ages
  • Simple and easy-to-learn user experience to build campaigns, launch them, and monitor them
  • Reporting and dashboarding capabilities can improved; now they are shallow and difficult to use
  • Sometimes we face hurdles in using email designer
  • Data export capabilities are limited; not everything can be exported
  • APIs to export data REST mechanism are confusing
Oracle CX Marketing (formerly Oracle Marketing Cloud) Eloqua is a best of class platform for B2B and B2C email marketing and lead nurturing. It allows the creation of custom objects to adapt to your business needs. Further it is device agnostic and cloud based.

I've used Oracle CX Marketing (formerly Oracle Marketing Cloud) with several freelance clients who use it as their CRM for things such as (but not limited to) email marketing, marketing campaigns, and lead generation. Most of these clients have also integrated the tool with SalesForce for better data organization. Overall, it's helped my clients get things launched much faster and has some nice automation features when communicating with prospects.
  • WYSIWYG editor--Most of my clients do not feel comfortable working with any HTML, and this tool made it super easy for these types of users. They always pick it up really quickly and don't need much help with it.
  • Campaign Tracker--As a data nerd, I love the fact that there are so many different metrics that can be analyzed when running your campaigns. They make it very clear how areas of your marketing are performing, which ultimately makes it easier for people to understand what they are doing right and wrong.
  • Overall Community--You'll have an easy time getting up to speed if you're a new user. And the community is very receptive to folks who need help.
  • Best for enterprises, but I always find many SMBs that ask me about using their tool, but the hard truth is it would be too robust for their needs
  • They need to improve the way the tool looks. I'm a big HubSpot user and the difference in UI is night and day. It's too clunky is some areas.
Oracle CX Marketing (formerly Oracle Marketing Cloud) works well for enterprise-level companies who are looking for semi-robust integration between creating email campaigns, launching landing pages, and collection and structuring some data. The tool is fairly easy to use but could do with improving some of its reporting. I've always found it to be a little "skinny."

We used Eloqua to manage our internal and external communications, across the full life cycle of our student body (from recruitment through to Alumni engagement). The use of the platform was centralized in our Marketing department, with support from our Partners in IT. Prior to purchasing Eloqua, we used multiple decentralized systems and processes to execute our electronic communications which presented challenges in terms of consistent branding and messaging strategy.

Prior to Eloqua, we also did not have a mechanism that allowed us to score and prioritize leads for follow-up, which we were able to do after implementation to a good deal of success.
  • Execution of email campaigns.
  • Lead management and scoring.
  • Landing page management.
  • Customizable levels of access to the platform.
  • Security.
  • Template management.
  • Unintuitive interface.
  • Requires a good level of technical knowledge to leverage fully.
  • 3rd party implementations.
  • Expensive.
  • Lengthy onboarding process.
Eloqua is well-suited to large organizations that are able to dedicate multiple marketing resources towards the management of the platform. This is not a turn-key solution that one person can effectively manage and execute - we found that we required a technical marketing specialist to help with the data and workflows, which was complemented by a campaign specialist who ran the actual campaigns and execution.

We are using Eloqua for our marketing automation. It's used across the whole organization. It is used to acquire and nurture leads, and integrate with Salesforce.
  • Automate event registration process
  • Utilize third party connectors like ReadyTalk for the complete webinar process
  • Dig into our prospects with offers and track the entire process of lead conversion
  • User friendly interface, which can be easily picked up without deep technological skills.
  • Many features that are powerful for lead nurturing like dynamic content, custom object, segmentation
  • CRM integration is seamless, which is very important to our organization. This integration mapping is also easy to audit.
  • Tracking on user activities such modifications to programs and campaigns
  • Bulk-creation in dynamic content setup
  • More date tools that can be used for Segments
  1. What training programs are available to get new users up to speed?
  2. How emergency situations are handled like system crashed?
  3. How feature roadmap is introduced, tested and implemented?
  4. How responsive the vendor is responding to service/issue request, as well as the wish-list?
  5. Are the basic features of marketing automation exist: email, landing page, form, program, segmentation, and integration?

Oracle Eloqua is solely being used by our demand generation, sales, and marketing teams. We are using Oracle Eloqua to manage marketing campaigns, sales lead generation, and sending marketing emails to increase the number of conversions of potential customers. In addition to just sending marketing emails, we are also using Oracle Eloqua to track whether or not a customer has opened the email, and their activity on our main website.
  • Unrivaled integration with WeChat. Many of our customers are based in China, so built-in integration with WeChat has really helped us.
  • Abundance of integrations. Based on past experience, Oracle Eloqua offers more integrations than any other marketing automation software.
  • HyperSite Builder is simple and easy to use, allowing us to create customizable sites based on each customer.
  • Harsh pricing and contract. Oracle Eloqua isn't accessible to businesses of all sizes, and the long-term contract requirement makes Oracle Eloqua a burden on the company's budget.
  • Lack of integrations with Google Adwords. We have yet to see this feature be added to Eloqua.
  • Implementation takes a long time. Due to the number of features that are available, it took 4-5 months for us to fully integrate Eloqua into our workflow.
Oracle Eloqua really only makes sense if your organization is going to use the unique integrations that its other competitors don't offer. It is priced higher than most of its competitors in the market, so it may only be a plausible solution for large companies. Transitioning marketing platforms will also be a burden as configuring Eloqua tends to be a lengthy process. If you need to use Eloqua-specific features and don't currently have a complex workflow to convert from (and if your budget allows it), then Eloqua is well-suited for you.

We use Oracle Eloqua to convert our site visitors into leads for our sales team. We take real-time notifications from Eloqua and based on the information that the contact provides, we delegate the appropriate member of our sales team to reach out to them. Since our business has several different stakeholders, we have salespeople for each type of stakeholder. It's very important for us to receive this information with each lead notification in order to create the most productive initial outreach.
  • Aggregating data.
  • Creating weekly reports.
  • Allowing plenty of fields to be filled out for MQL calculation purposes.
  • Less technical issues with email deliveries.
  • Sometimes the weekly reports don't seem to align with the daily ones.
  • I didn't receive contact information for several leads that told us they previously submitted our form.
Website activity to lead activation is where we've seen the most success using Eloqua to date. Our business is entirely B2B so it's valuable to get in touch with the appropriate contact within each respective organization. I haven't had many situations where I would not advise a B2B company to use Eloqua.

Every business-to-business organization needs a marketing automation solution. We use it for lead management, lead scoring and implementation to Salesforce. Being able to properly manage leads and process them to the right sales contact is critical for our business and Eloqua helps us solve for this. Our whole organization is using this product either as an end-user or for reporting.
  • Lead Management
  • Email Marketing
  • Lead Scoring
  • Reporting
  • Better UI for list builds
Oracle Eloqua is great for mid-marketing to enterprise businesses. It has all the features and functions for a marketing automation solution and can scale for growth. It seems SMBs stick to smaller solutions like Marketo and HubSpot.

Eloqua is currently being used by multiple business segments across Optum. The vast majority is marketing to B2B client segments and lead generation (multiple instances based on US vs EU) for segmenting, tracking, scoring and then sending to Salesforce for sales team followup. We also have a smaller B2C instance of Eloqua we use for a section of OptumCare for communications.
  • Detailed segmentation using contact attributes, account attributes, or custom data object attributes.
  • High level of integration with other systems via apps or custom-built integrations using the Eloqua API.
  • Detailed contact scoring based on activities, fit, custom objects, or account info.
  • Multiple CRM integrations - Eloqua works VERY will with singular integrations with a CRM system, but has trouble when integrating with multiple CRM systems simultaneously.
  • Making social sign-on and progressive profiling available using Eloqua forms outside of Eloqua landing pages, so we can get those features on Eloqua forms that we put on company pages built outside of Eloqua.
  • Easy contact transfers between Eloqua instances. This would greatly improve the usability when we need to have contacts transfer instances for legal reasons (separating out our GDPR contacts to our EU instance for example) or for transferring contacts from production to the sandbox environment for testing purposes.
Eloqua is a wonderful tool if you need a large scale marketing automation platform and have a team with the skill, size, and knowledgebase to implement it properly. It is worth its value if you are using all of the tools/advantages it provides. This really can only be done if you have the resources for multiple power level users as well as at least one full-time administrator. It would not be appropriate for a company who is implementing smaller-scale campaigns/efforts (just "batch and blast").

We are using Oracle Responsys for digital and email marketing to run different campaigns and leads to target customers and prospects for products. All the leads are automated using using Responsys. Email Marketing is run using Responsys to decide which customers to contact and which to opt-out based on criteria and legal requirements by state and laws. The software overall is very scalable and easy to use for any new or existing users.
  • Email Marketing
  • Lead Automation
  • Ok2Contact Criteria
  • There is a room for improvement for mobile marketing.
  • Interface is not very great or user-friendly. It's not intuitive and some of the tags on the website are misleading.
  • Some part of automation requires you to do the same steps and processes again and again which is cumbersome.
Overall Oracle Responsys is a good product for email and digital marketing to run campaigns and leads but the user interface and automation can be improved to make it more user-friendly.

Oracle Eloqua is managed and primarily used by Marketing, but we enable other departments within the organization to use it. Other departments that use Eloqua primarily use it to build their own emails (which we send for them) or pull their own reports. Eloqua is our core marketing program that we use to create emails, forms, and landing pages, manage contacts, and score sales leads.
  • Visual campaign canvas that allows you to map out your marketing campaigns and automation, ensuring there aren't any gaps.
  • Easy-to-use, responsive WYSIWYG email, form, and landing page editors.
  • Robust Cloud Marketplace with lots of apps that make setting integrations up quick and easy.
  • The clunky reporting user interface has a steep learning curve.
  • Lack of customization for email design systems: unable to create and save your own drag and drop WYSIWYG modules.
Oracle Eloqua is a powerful B2B marketing automation software that is great for enterprises running large scale, multichannel digital marketing campaigns. There is a way to do almost everything you want to do in your marketing program, or you can integrate with a partner software that does things that Eloqua itself can't. I will say that it is not the easiest or most intuitive marketing automation software I've ever used, and it's best suited to experienced users if a company isn't willing to invest in the Oracle Education Pass.

Our marketing team uses Eloqua as our master database and email platform. Several other parts of our business leverage Eloqua to send emails.
  • Provides a canvas to create multi-step campaigns.
  • Allows for robust segmentation based on characteristics, behavior, demographics.
  • Allows for customized workflows to process and route marketing contacts, both within the Eloqua platform and to external systems.
  • The CRM/Salesforce integration is very clunky to use. There’s a new app that was recently released to help alleviate this well-known pain point.
  • Reporting. Eloqua was in an unstable analytics platform with consistent performance issues for several years, but the transition to a reporting platform hosted by Oracle Business Intelligence has been disastrous, as the new platform is very user unfriendly and still struggles to reach parity with the old version.
  • Release management. Each release seems to take one step forward and two steps back as new functionality frequently breaks existing functionality, and communication about newly introduced issues that impact customer operations are slow and inaccurate.
If you have a need to customize workflows and support complex data cleansing and integration requirements, Eloqua is a good match. If you’re a lean marketing team, Eloqua can be difficult to manage because its customization options introduce complexity that a small team may not be able to manage without dedicated resources.

Eloqua is being used primarily by the marketing department to support email communication, form and landing page automation, sharing of data and web analytics and tracking as well as social integration. The tool is used both for B2B and B2C communications to get nurses to fill jobs and to get hospitals to open jobs with us.
  • CRM integration and customized automated processes like sending working nurses an automated reminder each week to submit their time sheets (this is unique because our nurses in "working status" changes every single week, so it's a dynamic integrated campaign)
  • Notifies us when leads from our website do not successfully go into our CRM
  • Automates several of the manual recruiting follow up and paper work processes
  • Would like to be able to put a form or video content into the body of an email

Eloqua is a fantastic tool when it comes to holistic campaign reporting and automation, when you include functionality of forms, landing pages, and other Eloqua plugins like social connectors and things like GoToWebinar.

Eloqua is less appropriate when trying to create large scale forms and surveys, as it does not include benefits like skip logic.

Eloqua is currently being used within our marketing department only. We run our marketing campaigns and lead automation through Eloqua. Currently it is integrated with SFDC and few other third party applications. We execute email campaigns and host majority of our landing pages and lead gen forms within Eloqua.
  • Custom Data Objects: Eloqua CDOs are one of the key factors that distinguishes it from other MAPs. The ability to store and process data in custom tables, provides a ton of flexibility to the users.
  • Reporting and Insights: Eloqua reporting and analytics engine is pretty strong and powerful, which crunches data and provide all types of custom reports quickly and with relative ease.
  • Ability to handle large databases: One of the main reasons why Eloqua is looked upon as "Enterprise" grade marketing automation solution is because of its ability to handle and process large databases i.e. 5M+ records.
  • DB Management: Eloqua should look into providing more flexibility and user friendliness around DB management tasks i.e. field and assets deletion etc. currently any such tasks requires tremendous time and resources to be performed due to complications related to "dependencies".
  • User Friendliness around "Testing": Eloqua should provide some native functionalities for testing different assets i.e. Emails and Landing Pages on various platforms (different browsers, email clients etc.).
  • Assets 'back-up' functionality during maintenance hours: There are many business that build their web landing pages entirely on Eloqua. When Eloqua goes down and is not available during maintenance hours, these businesses suffers tremendous loss of opportunity due to unavailability of their assets. Eloqua folks should think and plan around provisioning a 'back-up' mechanism to support such activities without making their customers suffer.
Eloqua is arguably the most robust MAP solution out there in the market due to its tremendous flexibility around customizations. However, unfortunately, it also makes this platform a little bit more complex and less user friendly in comparison to few other MAP's. That being said, if the companies using Eloqua have appropriate in-house resources to make use of full potential of Eloqua, then it can be a blessing in disguise.

We use Eloqua on the marketing team to upload leads and nurture them through the funnel. We also have integration with Salesforce for our sales and business development teams.
  • Database segmentation is streamlined and easy to understand.
  • Lead scoring and setup is helpful across multiple teams (marketing and sales) and able to segment into different business units/target audiences.
  • Automation for our sales team provides real-time followup.
  • The look and feel could be improved. I've used HubSpot in the past and it was more user-friendly with colors, inviting messaging, etc.
  • More in-app instructions would be helpful. If I am a new user, I would appreciate tutorials or instructions in-app.
  • More timely help. Without designated support, if issues are pressing I would appreciate quicker followup.
The lead scoring and database segmentation are helpful and easy to access for multiple teams. My marketing and sales organization look at these tools for different purposes.

Eloqua is being used across the company, and we use it to support marketing activities across departments for activation and nurturing purposes. We are also using the intelligence within Eloqua to score, segment, and automate the engagement process with online and offline contacts we want to market to.
  • Enterprise grade solution built for big companies who need a robust Marketing Automation Solution
  • Excellent customer service that is able to solve complex issues with the clients and work with them to customize tools
  • Global support community of users and experts who beginners can approach for questions and bring up to speed on
  • Available tools and resources to self-direct and self-educate before going for a P2P consultation
  • You need to be Eloqua certified in order to use their tools it's that complex
  • Minimal customization for SMB if they have tailored needs. Big clients get all the attention
  • Eloqua is built for enterprises, not so much for SMBs; I wish their tools could fit a broader spectrum of audiences and not just to the big guys
Depending on the specific use case, Eloqua can be a great tool for a stable and consistent experience. However, without the proper expertise and certification, it is difficult to extract 100% of the utilities of the tool if we don't know what we are doing. Therefore, before implementing the tool, it is important to see if there are existing resources with the expertise to manage Eloqua to your needs and to take it to the next level.
