I am the administrator, so I set up new users on UKG Ready and showed them how to use UKG Ready. I really like how user-friendly it is and how easy it is to access reports! It is so much better than the previous company we used!

We use UKG Ready to support our Payroll processes. We are a growing organization, and this helps us to automate a lot of our processes. UKG Ready helps to support all our Payroll needs, reporting, timekeeping, etc.

  • I would like to see the balances for PTO described and grouped differently. Employees continue to be confused with the "Projected balances" section. Maybe this can be worded one way for the users and another for the admins.
  • The Passwords to access the system, plus the need for a verification code, is a huge pain point for our deskless workers. We have a lot of frustration around accessing the system to clock in and out, request time off, etc. The increase in user adoption is a struggle.
  • It would be great to have UKG Pro and UKG Ready in one application on the mobile app; having access to areas to simply punch in and out for your daily shift is counterintuitive.
UKG Ready is a great time keeping system, it is user friendly and employees that do use the application, do not have many complaints. Its the access and maneuvering around the application to get to where they need to go, or find what they are looking for or accessing the application that is the issue. Once they find the location on where they need to be in order to submit the request, it is quick and easy. We are finding that we are utilizing resources to sit with these employees even after providing in person or virtual training to help navigate to what they want to do.

We use UKG Ready for Payroll, Human Resources, Recruiting, Time, and Accruals. The great thing about UKG is that it easy to customize to your situation. The problem is if it is not set up properly it can be hard to track down why. The only area that is difficult is the recruiting module. It is not user friendly for applicants. We use it to post jobs to Indeed, but then have to make changes on the Indeed site. We also use ZipRecruiter and it is not integrated. It is clunky to have applicants go directly into Kronos to apply and there is a significant drop off percentage if you sent applicants directly to Kronos.

  • The Recruiting Module is not applicant-friendly.
  • Too easy to customize. Not enough questions are asked when making changes to make sure what you need is being accomplished.
Make sure whoever is on your implementation team fully understands your company policies, payroll, and HR law.

We use it for recruitment, onboarding, timekeeping, payroll, benefit management, evaluations, and document storage. It has allowed us to go almost paperless and has increased the self-service for employees, allowing our HR staff to attend to less admin work. I am in the program multiple times a day.
  • Reports - they are so easy to customize on the spot, create from scratch, share, and easy access on the dashboard. Best I have ever had!
  • Employee Self-Service - there are so many options; we have rolled things out slowly and are always finding new things to allow employees to self-serve.
  • Payroll - simple and easy to access and update on the backend when needed.
  • Recruitment - Too clunky to maneuver for supervisors and employees, needs to be streamlined.
  • Onboarding/Checklists - The layout can be confusing, and documents go missing.
  • Job Descriptions - Need easy storage/access/editing.
You need to be fully committed to the implementation and take your time to customize the areas to get the full benefits of the system. It is very robust, which could be overwhelming to some, but if you take your time, it can really be worth it.

  • Reporting is probably the best feature of WFR, it is easy to create and modify your own reporting needs while filtering the data and exporting.
  • Using FMLA, ACA, & Points helps us manage our associate data effectively.

  • Attendance(points) process could use some improvement. Setting up and maintaining I find easier than WFC however we lost some functionality in the automatic processing as well as document generation.
  • FMLA module has a lot of restrictions on setup and has to be handled manually.
  • Not all fields for data entry are effective data which cause some issues in changing associates profiles in a timely manner.
This product was very user friendly and easy to teach associates.

We use UKG Ready as a tool for our employees to clock in and out for their shifts, as well as access a self-service platform to view and manage their HR- and Payroll-related information, such as timesheets and paystubs, W4 management, W2s, paid time off balances, etc. We also use UKG Ready to run reports to look at analytics with respect to employee headcount and turnover. We can run reports to look at our payroll operating costs, as well as run reports to acquire data driven analytics in order to forecast growth and determine critical talent placement, engagement levels, and retention probability.

  • UKG has robust reporting that also can be fine-tuned and tailored
  • UKG has easy to read and understand dashboards of HR data
  • To be able to customize more of UKG's generic fields would be nice
  • Overcomplicated on some processes; could simplify processes or steps on many things.

  • Would be beneficial to have a dedicated Solutions Manager or Account Manager.
I'm more well suited using the HR functionality rather than the Payroll processing of UKG. I am an HR Director; I have a Payroll Manager that processes the payroll.

We use UKG Ready for scheduling, time tracking, HR, etc. Because of the personnel shortages, we had to become more flexible with scheduling, which meant our pay calculations differed from ordinary 6-2:30 type shifts. Our union calculations were quite different as well. UKG is working with us to build a deduction based on the calculations we need to use.
  • UKG is constantly updating its Software to what the customers' needs are
  • UKG has knowledgeable staff in all areas of its software to help customers
  • UKG continually offers training to its customers
  • Better support when onboarding new customers. My experience was receiving enough education to get UKG up and running. I did not learn all that UKG can do for me as a customer.
  • The new Company Hub page took a lot of work to format. I would have liked to have templates to utilize the setup of the Company Hub better.
  • Projects take forever when requested from UKG
For the most part, UKG can accommodate our company's needs as a whole, but to utilize UKG and all it has to offer beyond the initial setup costs more money and 1:1 for the customer. I have stumbled upon most of UKG's software abilities by searching the Kronos community or learning when you put a case in and follow along with their technicians/customer service reps.

We use UKG Ready for time, payroll, and HR. We have both direct hire and contract employees, who are full-time and part-time, and manage their time with UKG Ready. We do payroll for direct hires with UKG and manage state and local taxes in over 20 states with UKG. We just competed our first Open Enrollment for benefits with UKG.

I would think that it is probably too much system for a small, straightforward company set up. As a complicated company with locations in a number of states and many different employee situations, it is flexible enough for our needs.

Most significant challenge is within leave accrual module. As most UKG customers in the civil engineering industry, we do not use time and labor module. Rather, we import an hours file from a separate system. We designed our set up to include leave accruals in UKG and we have encountered numerous, repeat challenges with hours not properly deducting, especially from calendar year to calendar year. After 6 weeks of conversations with various customer support staff, we found the resolution after being told there was no way to resolve or correct it.

This experience demonstrated that not all customer support are prepared to address customer situations and some are actually misinformed of Ready functionality.

Compliance reporting functionality makes our job easier.

UKG Ready is not a solution for companies that don't buy time and labor management, and support is not equipped to address situations the arise from this circumstance.

The UKG Ready app should be modified to fit a phone screen. Our field staff do not use it because they cannot easily navigate app functions.

We use UKG Ready on a daily basis. I use it to run reports, help internal customers, uploading documents. The big issue we have is getting straightforward answers from UKG reps. In my experience, simple reports that should be available are not, and based off the community learning, multiple users have requested the same or alike reports YEARS ago, and they are still not available. In my opinion, the two-app login is very unnecessary; why can't it be integrated? I also feel the 15-character password is inconvenient. In my experience, communication broadcasts are always down and vague.

We use UKG Ready for all of our personnel recordkeeping and payroll. It has eliminated the need for any paper based records for onboarding and employee tracking, and has cut the payroll process turnaround from 5 to 2 days. The self service, web based interface has reduced the time that HR has to commit to help with employee questions and issues. It has also streamlined the 3rd party vendor relationship through EDI interfaces.

I think the platform is great however the setup can use some improvement. I've found that If the system is not set up properly it takes a long time to get it corrected. In my experience, Tickets for service can take a long time. In my opinion, Interfaces with third party vendors can take forever, since they do not communicate with each other. Uploading information from other HRIS system is also an issue, most of the history was uploaded incorrectly, or missing information.

I joined Yoga Joint about a year and a half ago, and upon hire, I immediately worked on pulling away from ADP and into UKG Ready. I had years of experience with UltiPro and was excited to see they had merged with Kronos to form UKG. We needed a full-suite solution for HR; Time & Attendance, Payroll, HR, Talent/Recruiting, Performance Management, Compensation Management, and more. To date, we have implemented 4 modules, and I am currently working on implementing our 5th as we speak. The efficiency with how their implementation team works is amazing. They are very hands on, organized, detailed and professional. I was very pleased with the implementation of each portal and how the UKG team kept me on track to meet my deadline to Go Live. My HR Department at this time only consists of myself and my Payroll & Benefits Manager, but the level of output we receive from UKG in managing close to 175 employees makes our job manageable. The reporting features throughout their system are fabulous. Easy to use, filter on, and report on in various forms, and have built-in several workflows within each portal as well as built alerts throughout the platform, which allows UKG Ready to push out communication to staff and management very easily. Their Time and Attendance portal and mobile app is easy to use and allow our workforce to easily clock in and out and request PTO. This funnels easily into their Payroll portal, making processing payroll very seamless and smooth. I am very pleased with our choice of partnering with UKG Ready as we are a local company about to take off with massive growth, so we needed to find a solution that was able to address our needs today and scale our growth ahead.

  • Customer Service - By the click of a button, I can open a case or chat request, and UKG is very prompt in reaching back out to me. If it is regarding payroll processing, the response time is almost immediate.
  • Talent/Recruiting Portal - The application process can use improvement throughout, especially their resume parsing feature.
  • LMS Portal - This is a somewhat new feature inside UKG Ready, so may need more time to build and develop here.
UKG Ready offers a solid full-suite solution at a reasonable price that addresses our growing company's needs. The platform is very user-friendly, and their mobile app was well received throughout our workforce. They offer robust reporting capability throughout the portals, which makes it easy to report on. My sales rep was quick to address my needs, and their implementation team is very hands on and easy to work with. We recently rolled UKG Ready out to our company, and the adaption rate of our employees to grasp clocking in and out and navigating the system was exceptional. All in all, from an ROI perspective, I am very pleased with my choice in partnering with UKG and feel this solution will carry us for many years of anticipated growth ahead.

We started in 2017 with time and attendance and have expanded in 2022 with payroll, benefits, onboarding, and accruals.

  • Dashboard experience to quickly see birthdays and anniversaries of employees
  • In depth reports showing department and position
  • Employee lead personal and payroll changes, no second entry
  • Having an employee reset their own password if they forget or get locked out vs having to call the admin
As mentioned prior, we had issues with buddy punching and time theft. By transitioning to UKG Ready and the biometric hand scanners, we can avoid those issues. UKG Ready also gives the manager a quick view of who is working and when they punched in (and if they did for lunch).

We use a suite of UKG Ready solutions including payroll, timekeeping, performance, accruals, etc. It has allowed us to reduce the amount of paper we use and to automate many processes, which frees up the time of my HR staff and managers to focus on things like driving revenue, training, development, etc.
  • Functionality, in particular, is very strong. I was able to completely customize my performance reviews, including content and approvals.
  • Applications can be customized. For example, we had a stretch where we needed a high number of applicants, so we [were quickly enabled] to apply, which provided a measured increase in applicants.
  • The data storage provided is good. Though we are still converting to more digital documents, we have been able to convert paper documents into eDocs and have them stored inside UKG Ready.
  • I would appreciate it if they could add geofencing via a tighter radius or even better, with coordinates for mobile clock-in.
  • I would like it if they could allow custom document security access to be programed via the Customs Form creation and not have to enter each and every security profile to update.
UKG Ready is a strong contender for [companies] under 750 or so team members with not many security profiles. Security Profiles drive a lot of who can see what and when you start having many security profiles, it becomes cumbersome to update everything and keep access where it needs to be.

We use UKG Ready for 7 EINS in a skilled nursing facility/personal care setting and use the Payroll, HR, ACA, TLM modules. We are currently implementing Advanced Scheduler to better track employees approaching OT and to avoid using another system for scheduling. It has worked very well for us over the past 3 years.

We will continue to work towards configuring other modules that need to have their set up complete

  • I can see all employees in one database.
  • New enhancements have made some tasks easier to complete.
  • Pay calcs can be a bit overwhelming. I would like to see them a bit more streamlined.
  • "New" looks is not user-friending for smaller monitors. Having to scroll right or left to find an action button can be time consuming.
  • Sometime the amount of information on new releases is a bit overwhelming.
  • Would like to see "effective dating" for GL settings (the same as for pay calcs).
Well suited for multiple EINs not only for administrative use but also the fact security can be set for multiple user levels. The multiple modules that are available can also be tailored for company specific uses. It does take some extensive setup at implementation.

We use the core function suites within the system - HR, Payroll, and Recruitment. This has allowed us to move from a 100% payroll and recruitment process to everything being electronic and at our fingertips. We use this across the organization. Previously, managers could not access any employee information in our system. Now, there are so many insights they can use on their computers or phones.

I have used many different HRIS systems and UKG Ready is a fairly robust tool. What sets UKG apart for us is their core values align with our own. We love their employee culture and know that trickles down to how we are supported as users of their software. We also appreciate the constant upgrade and really taking user feedback into account.

The whole organization uses UKG Ready for timekeeping, payroll, benefits administration, and leave of absence tracking and we will soon use its performance management. It allows us to have a majority of our data in one place while making our processes more efficient. Users are able to be more hands-on and serve themselves.

UKG Ready is used across the entire organization. Having security access levels that allow staff to review their timesheets, accrual balances, etc. saves time for our payroll team in answering these questions for staff. Had we figured out the imports feature sooner, it would have definitely created more efficiencies for us, but now that we know, we're using them more regularly in a time when staffing levels are low.

Having employee self-service functionality as well as account access has really improved transparency for our payroll department as well as reduced the amount of questions payroll staff are asked about employee leave balances, etc. Additionally, having the ability to import accrual balance updates and time entries has made us more efficient as opposed to our previous manual entry process.

Our entire hospital system uses UKG Ready for our HR and Payroll needs. All employees are responsible for recording their time, completing reviews, and reviewing their pay data within the system. UKG Ready streamlines the process between HR and payroll and allows us all to see everything and work much more efficiently. Our auditors also love the audit functions and security management between departments.

  • Training for end-users-it would be helpful if UKG had training materials for things like timesheets, reviews, and reviewing data within the system.
UKG Ready is easily accessible - I love that it's web based. No need to use the VPN network. This really helps managers when they are on vacation, but need to do work. It's also helpful for employees to have a streamlined view between the desktop at work and at home. The system in my opinion is pretty user friendly. I love the audit trails - it really helps you keep track of possible errors and find information that may have accidentally been deleted.

We use the full suite to manage our external contingent workforce. The customizations on time and onboarding are critical to the services we sell to our clients. We do have some system limitations due to our unique staffing needs. Most have been resolved by customizing the system, but we have not been able to resolve processing past pay period timecards and bypassing logins for our external timecard approvers.

  • I would like to be able to process past pay period timecards. In staffing, we need to be able to process a prior pay period timecard with the current timecard. This is impossible.
  • Modernizing onboarding to include video tutorials, and a better UI as workers get stuck a lot [...] requires a lot of IT troubleshooting from my HR team.
  • I would like it if it could modernize the branding opportunities. We have to use noreply@kronos.com in order for our reports to be received. We can't include images in messages/notifications unless they have a URL from an image hosting site [that] is outdated.
The system is great if you need to automatically assign different onboarding packages. We have to segment our workforce on several levels and the cost centers allow us to do this easily. Reporting is very user-friendly so an HR admin can do a lot in the system without needing to have IT coding experience like other HRISs. This system is good for a standard client company that is not super cutting-edge. A cutting-edge company would not be satisfied with the outdated system functionality as updates to the system are mostly [aesthetic] and do not address a lot of California compliance ideas that have been submitted in the community for years.

  • Training on how to create reports and this feature is not as user-friendly as other options
UKG Ready has provided excellent service for our payroll and other areas of our manufacturing facility compared to other Human Resource software programs that we have used and/or investigated.
