Payroll, HR, Training, time management and general record keeping. It is being use across the entire organization. Payroll and time management and HR data.
  • I like the fact that are dashboards that report a screen shot of what is happening
  • I like the notifications that are tied to various processes
  • Customer support. I do not like the idea of not being able to call someone with a quick question without adding a case. Waiting for someone to call you back is not helpful at all. Chat line is mostly off-line
  • SMA is relatively new to Kronos's Platform. I really felt like we were not fully trained on the system. We were not able to train our staff well either. I would really like to see short clip videos that we are able to share with new employees. I don't have time to read long documents which I find is a lot of what is on the training portal.
I would not recommend UKG Ready at this time. Again, we are new customers and I feel, we are on our own. I've added cases and I have met a few people who have been very helpful. I often asked for someone to give me a call, but I keep forgetting the help desk does not make calls, they will email you most of the time. I am a person who likes to have the customer support via phone. Had we known we were not going to receive this type of support, we probably would not have selected UKG Ready.

We use it across the entire lab and have 700 personnel. We purchased the following modules: Time and Labor Management, Performance Management, Compensations Management, and Leave of Absence. We have complex timekeeping needs because most of our work is on sponsored projects from government agencies. We need the ability to charge and affirm time entries across different contracts with varying requirements.

  • Compensation management: Cannot bulk approve or reject.
  • Time Entry: Approval process for cost center managers requires multiple steps: approve, then submit. Doesn't make sense from an approvers perspective.
  • Lacking parallel approval workflow. i.e. Cost Center managers and supervisors cannot approve time concurrently.
UKG Ready is well-suited for time entry and timesheets in general. It becomes inhibitive on the approval side. The workflows do not allow for concurrent approval by supervisors and cost center managers. This puts a big strain on getting payroll in on time. UKG's help desk is communicative when working on cases, but we have encountered several bugs that they cannot help us with. No movement or feedback on resolutions around bugs. Their HR modules are underwhelming. They need more development and flexibility.

We use Kronos for time and attendance, payroll, benefits, HR, recruiting, and performance reviews. UKG Ready is used across the entire company, and it has helped us become nearly paperless and more streamlined. Employees use UKG Ready for employee self service and benefit enrollments.
  • Easy to build and automate reporting
  • Kronos Global support is great when system issues arise that we cannot take care of ourselves
  • The Kronos App allows employees easy and convenient access to their timecards, vacation, pay slips, etc
  • FMLA doesn't always feed well into timekeeping so information is entered multiple times
  • While we appreciate the wish to continually improve the system, a lot of major changes have been taking place so it is hard to keep up and keep supervisors trained on modifications to processes they are used to - HR spends a lot of time trying to keep up with the changes
  • Many of the changes taking place are to be compatible with tablets and cell phones, while company administrators (the ones that use the system most) don't use tablets or phones, making regular tasks more complicated and time consuming
  • Cannot print tax reports directly out of UKG Ready - must use BSI or Payroll services to do this - both costing additional money to use
Having Timekeeping, HR, and Payroll all together is great. For the most part, everything syncs together, and we don't have to use interfaces to get the data from one system to another. So, for someone looking for the whole package, UKG Ready is great. Once downfall for Payroll is that UKG Ready does not provide tax reporting, so we do have to use a separate system. Companies can either pay UKG Payroll services to do the tax reporting for them, or they can use a stand alone system called BSI to print the tax reports that are needed. BSI leaves a lot to be desired.

We are a UKG licensee, processing payroll for about 100 entities—small to large in various industries. We have accounting and payroll departments within our office, about 2/3 accounting, 1/3 payroll. We pay about 12,000 people in a given month.

I'm happy with the product and think it is superior to other platforms on the market. My complaint would only be related to the constantly evolving look and functionality and not always feeling like I'm abreast/knowledgeable about those changes. The system is so wide, it's hard enough to become an expert, but with how things change, it's always a moving target.

UKG Ready is used by the whole organization in North America. We manage timesheets, time off requests, payroll, [and] signing onboarding documents in UKG Ready. Last year is was very easy to transition from in-person onboarding to online onboarding. thank you for such a great product!

We currently utilize UKG across our whole organization. We use UKG to resolve TLM, HR, and payroll business problems. We have solved timesheet issues by implementing specific rules and thus limiting overtime costs due to inaccurate punching. UKG allows our company to be completely paperless and we have implemented many checklists for many happy clients.
  • UKG offers an enormous amount of documentation, training classes, and opportunities to increase knowledge of the system.
  • The customization options are endless.
  • User friendly interface.
  • Definitely takes a while to get familiar in the system.
  • Certain mass editing options could be improved.
  • Ability to configure certain defaults sometimes seems limited.
I find that UKG is not the best system for using a scheduler engine. It is very complicated, hard to follow, and not very much support available on this topic. UKG is great for turning your company paperless. All onboarding, documents, trainings, reviews, recruiting, etc. can be done through the system, stored in one place with one password.

It is great for keeping electronic information on employees.
  • Employee information. It is very helpful to be able to pull up one screen and see all the demographics. Also very easy to report on.
  • Time keeping. Access is great from employees to managers to HR. We can edit if someone needs to change time and push it through for them. Although we don't like to do this, I like to have the option. Very easy to see historical time as well.
  • Performance management. The tools set up is great even though we had some hiccups. I like the fact that we can build the tool to what our organization needs and have a few different ones for different populations. We did not use the merit increase tool as this was our first time doing online performance management but I'd like to use that feature this year.
  • Historical records. I appreciate when an employee leaves our organization that all the information remains for me to see, it doesn't just wipe them out of our system and make it more difficult to find. It's the same as pulling up an active employee which is easy.
  • Yearly training. I like that we can track when an employee took New Hire Training or other training that we offer. I think there is a better way for us to utilize this but we just haven't gotten around to it. Ideally, I'd love that when someone is a year old, that particular employee gets an automatic email. I haven't even looked into it, but perhaps that feature is already there.
  • Room notes - something better than we have today. More of a list, with dates, etc.
  • Room for LOA notes, again, list sorted by dates so you can follow someone's leave.
  • Termination screens should in there in the employee record, shouldn't have to do a different search for it.
I wish it had more features where you can add notes and follow someones performance history or employee actions. There are only small boxes. I wish it had the ability to list notes by dates (under LOA for example.)

Kronos has a good response rate when reaching out. I love the live chat. It is quick and easy rather than going through the trouble of putting in a whole ticket.

Although it has a good foundation--when you're using it for larger companies like ours (6500+ employees), we basically need to use every module to its fullest. Unfortunately a lot of the modules within the system aren't very developed and only allow basic functionality.

The UKG Ready platform is extremely robust and configurable. It's its own pro and con, Catch 22. The system can be complex and not user friendly at times. In other situations, I have seen where companies really embrace the platform and utilize as much of the system as possible. There are many "modules," so it depends which ones you have enabled; the modules are HR, Payroll, and TLM. Benefits and other sub-modules mainly fall under the HR Module; Accruals under TLM -- there is another module that is able to be added alongside TLM, called "Advanced Scheduler." Setup is very hands-on, but once all of them are configured/implemented, and up-and-running, it's overall a great platform.

  • Heavy detail-specific configurations.

UKG Ready is a fantastic solution for employers with 1 - 10,000 employees, especially for employers operating in various locations/states/countries. Because the system is highly-configurable, security permissions are also able to be tailored down to specific items in each "area" of the system.

We are currently using UKG Ready (formerly Kronos Workforce Ready) for Time/Labor, HR, Performance Management, and ACA preparation. We are using it for all three companies across two islands, and every department utilizes the product. The majority of our users are on the mobile application, but we do have a small group that utilizes a time clock.

We use UKG Ready (formerly Kronos Workforce Ready) as our full HRIS, with timekeeping, payroll, and benefits. We will be implementing other modules for talent acquisition, performance, and compensation. This is an improvement from our old system, which was clunky and not user friendly. The whole organization is using the system for timekeeping and employee self-service functions.
  • The HR module is fairly intuitive for users to navigate.
  • The homepage and dashboards are easy to read.
  • Employees can review their own information using ESS functions.
  • Employees can submit changes to their information using HR actions and forms.
  • As an administrator, many areas of the system are hard coded and we are not given the ability to edit them, while other areas allow any employee to make changes and edit what all others see.
  • There are a lot of small enhancements that need to be made. Judging from the ideas section of the help community, some ideas sit for three years with hundreds of people upvoting them, and they are still not implemented.
  • The system seems to be intuitive, but its easy to get lost in the navigation.
  • The system tries to be agile and customizable, but when we try to change something, we are told its hard coded and we can't change it, but we're encouraged to submit an idea to the help community in hopes that it gets noticed.
Employees could not use our old HRIS for employee self-service, and most functionality was completed on paper forms and keyed into it. This system is a step in the right direction, but it's evident pretty quickly that there are a lot of enhancements that need to take place to make the system more intuitive and user friendly for both administrators and employees (e.g., open enrollment processes, adding dependents and beneficiaries, etc.).

We use UKG Ready primarily as our timekeeping and leave-keeping system, as well as our scheduler. It addressed problems that paper timesheets had of faulty and often missing records of time.

We went live with UKG Ready in October 2019 across our organization. It addressed our immediate needs: to update our technology, fully utilize mobile capabilities, and have a system that was agile and could quickly adapt to changing business needs. We would not have been able to complete the many needed tasks due to business closures in 2020 with our old technology.

We are currently using the time keeping feature, but the rest of the features have not been configured correctly, so the rest of the system is worthless.

If a company only has to worry about basic employment laws, no convoluted union contracts that change the way time is calculated, it's pretty straightforward and easy to use. If you work for a company with 10 different employment contracts and pay ordinances, configuration and maintenance will be difficult.

We are using Workforce across our organization for timekeeping only.
  • Timekeeping.
  • Lots of difficulties with implantation.
  • Had lots of issues that has required assistance.
  • When fixing one issue, it seems to upset several other things.
  • Sometimes slow turn around on needs.
  • Counters are difficult to set up, and to get in the exact right order.
  • Reports are horrible.
  • Viewing layout is not great. Requires too much scrolling.
We only use UKG for our timekeeping. Timekeeping is OK. We have several counters, and that is where we have had numerous issues. The reporting side was used as a sale point, and unfortunately the reports are not as great, as we were made to believe. We have been live since around the first of June, and I don't think I have had one payroll to process, without having to involve Global Support because of something not working correctly.

Happy with Kronos

We use UKG Ready across the whole organization. We use it for Time & Labor, payroll and HR.
  • Quality support
  • Great reporting capabilities
  • Products are seamless and work well together
  • Too many constant changes to the product, it's hard to keep up with
  • Some of the items that were available in the former UI are not offered in the new UI
  • Correcting the semi-monthly weighted-average overtime calculations to reflect what Wage and Hour requires
We are really happy with the time and labor and the payroll features, I would recommend that to other companies or a colleague.

We use UKG to process the payroll in our organization. We have a cumbersome timesheet system that we use and it interfaces smoothly. We have only been using this system since 7/1/2020 and it's mainly used by the support personnel. Our staff only looks at the pay statement online.
  • The support staff is AWESOME.
  • Our implementation team was great.
  • The system is very user friendly.
  • We dislike the function of forcing employees to consent to electronic W-2's.
  • Our transition rep (between implementation and total support) was not good.
  • Can't think of anything else - it's only been 5 months.
Workforce Ready is so easy to use. It took a while to set up but it's great. We had a payroll person that retired and opted to use UKG and saved a ton of money. And the system is way more accurate than a human would be.

The whole company uses it to track time. We track time via clocks, PCs, mobile app. Everything except phone and biometrics. We auto drop hours for exempt staff. We used to use the ACA module but do not any longer. We also had a division that used schedular but they are not active at this time.
  • Time tracking is straight forward.
  • Audit trails are very helpful and easily accessed.
  • Provides data for separate payroll module outside of WFR.
  • Automating the building and maintenance of employee profiles is a bit cumbersome.
  • Although online learning is great, sometimes a searchable manual could help our managers.
Scheduler is very cumbersome and takes a lot of work.
Mobile access is great!

We are using UKG across our public schools and school board. We use the biometric time clock to record time in and out for all staff for auditing purposes. We also use UKG to request and record time off requests for all employees. The district was using sign in sheets beforehand, which was not sufficient enough for the auditors.
  • UKG keeps an accurate log of time for employees.
  • UKG is easy to use when requesting time off.
  • UKG has many features available to use for a variety of businesses.
  • UKG support has been very helpful for any issues or questions we may have.
  • The biometric does not always catch every finger print, but I believe that is not directly a UKG problem.
  • The live chat is not always available when I need it.
  • Mass editing could use some improvement, like allowing to replace a holiday already populated with another day.
UKG is well suited for all the employees who work on the campuses. The time clock is a great way to record all the faculty and staff for time in and time out. UKG does not really suit our needs for the bus drivers who start driving from their homes.
