We left Meltwater for various reasons including aggressive sales teams and a lackluster product. Cision (Trendkite) was 100% transparent, helped address any questions or concerns I had and worked with us as we evaluated the product. One of the best decisions we made and I don't regret it one bit (still getting chased by Meltwater to this date and don't plan on going back).

We evaluated the newer version of Meltwater, Mention and Cision/Vocus (pre-TrendKite acquisition) for our PR monitoring tools. Considering that we had come from several years of Meltwater, we were looking for a tool which had similar capabilities with even more digital marketing integrated. We were also interested the shareability of reports and strong customers focus from the vendor. While our incumbent had a newer version, the equivalent advertising value was still inaccurate, the support staff the same and no real focus on our industry and business needs.

Cision (post-TrendKite acquisition) is far superior. It provides the tools you need and makes it EASY to access and report on data. Cision saved me HOURS of time on my reporting and now this time can be spent on creating content and pitching. Other competitor tools are fiddly and not attractive. Some of these competitors have had the same dashboards for more than 20 years!! Others have old and outdated information. Cision Communications Cloud is best in class and it is very clear that the product excellence starts from INSIDE the company. They had to have a great product in a crowded space and they succeeded big-time. BIG FAN.

Cision has the best team - friendly, helpful without being pushy or aggressive. Their platform has the best UI, and ramp up time was very short. They pulled from more publications and social sites and had the metrics we were looking for when it came to measuring PR impact.

Cision Communications Cloud (with TrendKite)* is simple and customizable and doesn't try to throw in too many unneeded features. The reporting is quick, intuitive and shareable. The search terms are easy to edit and there is no "man behind the curtain" falseness to how they do things, meaning they act as a partner and quickly work to get what you need. It's so much better than meltwater or Cision (pre-TrendKite)* in that respect.

We also use Cision (before they added Trendkite) and Meltwater. We see each service providing slightly different things. Meltwater just introduced a much better social media coverage capability which we need. Cision gives us the confidence in media databases for list building and identifying digital influencers. It would be nice if we didn't have to buy all 3 services, but at this time we need them all.*

We have used Meltwater and TVEyes. We had to pay for both of those services separately and we had to use them separately. Cision allows you to have all the info you need in one place. Also, Meltwater was providing basic info of media and internet mentions. We love that Cision provides the comparison, share of voice and sentiment which are all very important to us.

Cision (pre-TrendKite acquisition)* is definitely the so called leader in the PR reporting and monitoring space, but their extremely difficult to use platform and lack of support (and high cost) makes Cision Communications Cloud (TrendKite)* a much more viable option. Ease of use is a major factor in who clients choose and I think that is why we chose Cision Communications Cloud (TrendKite)*.

Each of the above platforms had strengths and weaknesses in their own right, but each one had one or more critical components that others did not (including good customer service). Cision Communications Cloud seems to have more of what I need in terms of measuring various metrics combined with functionality in one easy-to-use platform, than any other.

We use other platforms and we have found that Cision Communications Cloud (now with TrendKite) meets our needs over Cision (pre-TrendKite) and Meltwater. The customer service with Cision is superb compared to these two platforms. Additionally, Cision Communications Cloud is very user friendly and the reports it generates are high level and what we're looking for when reporting to our senior staff. We pair Cision Communications Cloud with Sprout Social for a social media monitoring platform as Cision does not have a robust social media function. It would be great to be able to use one service. However, we found this combination works well for our team.

The support staff and training we received with Cision was so much better than what we received with Meltwater. Cision Communications Cloud (TrendKite) is clean and easier to work in. The reports are great, and the dashboard gives us more information such as the social amplification. The sales team with Cision was also great! They offered a competitive price and shared with us the differences between their platform and their competitors without tearing them down (which is much more than I can say for the Meltwater team!) I was surprised at the sales tactics I experienced with the Meltwater team when I told them I was looking into Cision. They lied about the functionality that Cision Communications Cloud has and when I confronted them about it they were very rude and off-putting. Cision was able to give us a great deal and I will say it has been worth every penny for the great service and user-friendly platform.

I like the visual interface of Cision Communications Cloud, but the chat function is why I choose Cision over Meltwater. It's nice to know that if I'm compiling a report, someone on the back end can help me set up dashboards while I work on other things. It saves my agency and our clients a ton of time and money.

Cision's media monitoring doesn't catch as much as Meltwater (we currently use both to create redundancies at Tech Image), but its reporting interface and customer service is by far superior. I simply add the missing media placements to Cision that Meltwater picks up, and it's a best-of-both-worlds scenario.

Cision Communications Cloud gives us the ability to tailor or reports to get exactly what we are looking for. One of the key differentiators is that Cision allows us to use a publication list, which helps make sure our results pull credible publications that our clients care about. Other platforms don't allow that type of flexibility.
