Companies can't remove reviews or game the system. Here's why

For bigger companies or companies with a need to integrate multiple systems with marketing automation, they will find Eloqua best suited. But if the need for marketing automation is smaller then the Eloqua can seem a bit too big for the system.

Marketing automation is a sweet spot for Eloqua. I think there are some weaknesses around changes to the UI but look and feel aside I think the automation capabilities are the best out there today. You won't find it in the competition.

Well suited for those who have a very customizable campaign; less suited for smaller companies who don't do much email or don't have large lists.

I would say 9 in the sense that if a colleague was asking for it, assumedly they already have marketing based use cases in mind that are appropriate for Eloqua. It has its learning curves but can not really think of a more standard alternative than using Eloqua so it really is almost a necessary component of any best practice marketing campaign program. Worst scenario is hard to say - if your use case is outside the normal positioned value prop that Eloqua has, forget about it - not for you. It's meant for specific marketing experiences & would highly recommend not trying to apply it to more flexible outside the box use cases.

Massive companies and corporations, with enough traffic and websites to hit the needed traffic volume for reliable results and winners. It can be tempting to act based on presumptions before the data hits the needed tipping point and is safely actionable. Too many sites will take too long and make it easy to assume the end results and make changes or move in a direction that turned out to be the result of an outside or some unidentifiable factor.

We also chose Eloqua because we were having trouble reading the digital body language of the customers we were emailing. We also had a hard time creating drip campaigns and hitting our target audiences in the most effective way. We use the Profiler and Engage features the most. Profiler allows us to see how the customer interacts with our content we're sending. Engage allows us to engage with our customers back and forth. It's been great thus far. We now have a database for our contacts and can include/exclude contacts as we need to for different campaigns.

Eloqua has suited our needs up to this point. I can't speak to our external Eloqua team because I am not involved in much of their work, but internally Eloqua has been a game changer. What we are struggling with now is getting users to follow our internal guidelines and policy, but the tool itself it working well.

Eloqua is great for large enterprises with technical staff that is not afraid to get into the technical aspect of digital marketing. If you are expecting the platform to just market for you or give you a few buttons to click when you want it to do something you may have some trouble. If you have a basic understanding of HTML and are technical enough to think through different solutions for problems your organization is facing, you should do fine with Eloqua.

For medium to large companies, Oracle Eloqua is well suited. It is easy to learn but complex to master. Don't take marketing automation lightly. Implementation is the first step. But the success all depends on the use of it and the level of adoption within the whole organisation, end-users should be well-trained. Great for B2B, also suitable for B2C. If you're looking for an easy way to quickly send out emails, this is not the tool for you.

Eloqua works best for companies that have a relatively long sales cycle, if it takes a while to convince your potential customer to buy your product, Eloqua will be the best fit on the market. You can set different campaigns and make sure those potential customers are only receiving the emails that are really valuable for them. In case you have a short sales cycle, the features can be a bit overwhelming and I would suggest you look at Oracle Responsys for example, which is the perfect solution in this case.

Brands looking to generate increased buy rate among current users suits Bluekai well.

Bluekai cannot assist on account-based marketing that targets a specific company list. In fact, Oracle, in general, is not the best option for ABM.

Oracle Eloqua is very well suited if you want to automate your marketing efforts, especially across many different channels. As I previously mentioned, it is also great for analysing the effectiveness of your marketing campaigns and then using that information to make the necessary changes to your campaigns to increase their impact.

Eloqua is well suited to an organisation looking for a multi-channel marketing automation tool which integrates well with Salesforce. However the CRM integration and some of the advanced functions require a lot of work and understanding, so an organisation looking for a simple email platform, or stand alone marketing CRM might be better looking elsewhere.

The big enterprise companies which can also invest in multiple Oracle products should use it. Small companies who just want to send out promotional emails should not go for this. It is really expensive compared to other marketing automation tools such as Marketo or HubSpot. Moving away from Eloqua is very difficult. You need a programmer and an admin if you want a smooth execution of the system.

Good enough for a huge company that has a big marketing ops organization that is transactionally focused and doesn't change much. It is not appropriate for lean marketing teams or anyone who believes in self-service tools. It is also not a good fit if you want to have fast and rich personalization on your site because their forms and javascript tools are very behind the times.

In my eyes it's the Ferrari of marketing automation. That means it's great at a lot of things and has a lot of options. That also means that it can be overwhelming for smaller businesses, and it's harder to get started with the platform. Small or large, I recommend organisations always find a trusted Eloqua partner to assist in implementation, setup and maturing of the platform within your organisation.

Eloqua Rises to the Top

Eloqua works great if you have your CRM properly integrated and have the ability to use custom objects. You can then sync customer data and fields appropriately, which you can trigger actions based on that data. You can easily load HTML and create email templates for those who do not want to work with HTML. The email template editor needs some work though. There is an ability to create these editable templates, but the UI could be easier. I have worked with Pardot and Marketo and those UIs are much better. The data segmentation is fantastic in Eloqua. I love how you can exclude certain lists, filters and other criteria. There are also a ton of decision steps to be used within a multi-step campaign flow. The visuals are great and it's very clear what paths a record can take. I do wish the wait steps could be less than 15 minutes though.

Oracle Eloqua is very well suited for companies that need to target different market segments and conduct large marketing campaigns. Oracle Eloqua is a very comprehensive program and if you take the time to learn the program you can greatly improve the effectiveness of your marketing efforts. Integration with sales programs is also very useful for lead creation.

I would really only recommend Eloqua to a colleague if they are looking to implement one marketing automation platform that will be used by their product team as well as their marketing team. I honestly would not recommend it any other time. There are so many add-ons with Elouqa that you will need if you are taking advantage of sales tools, all of which are standard capabilities in most other platforms.
