Companies can't remove reviews or game the system. Here's why

Eloqua is arguably the most robust MAP solution out there in the market due to its tremendous flexibility around customizations. However, unfortunately, it also makes this platform a little bit more complex and less user friendly in comparison to few other MAP's. That being said, if the companies using Eloqua have appropriate in-house resources to make use of full potential of Eloqua, then it can be a blessing in disguise.

Creating email/campaign templates and allowing access based on members of a groups is an extremely important part of the tool. The ability to merge information captured in the database with your messaging is an important part of personalization, which Eloqua can easily do.

Oracle provides marketers with a robust network of over 500 partners, representing over 700 integrations. This empowers users to align existing enterprise applications to marketing automation for scalability and extension. Oracle Marketing Cloud provides a centralized canvas where marketers can orchestrate experiences across paid, owned, and earned channels including email, mobile, social, and web.

The solution is great for an enterprise marketing team. There is a ton of functionality and options, but the UI is slightly clunky and outdated. We use the solution to build our customer communication journeys and can highly personalize the journey/messaging for each user with the powerful filters, rules, and programs. The campaign builder allows us to build stunning emails that grab a users attention and convert well. The reporting is outstanding and allows us to see how our campaigns perform and where we can improve.

Eloqua is the 3rd marketing automation platform I have worked in, and by far the most complicated. While the platform contains a huge amount of available data, it's not practical for the average small or medium-sized business with limited technical resources. The "average" email manager or marketer has a very difficult time navigating the platform if they do not have the technical background.

Depending on the specific use case, Eloqua can be a great tool for a stable and consistent experience. However, without the proper expertise and certification, it is difficult to extract 100% of the utilities of the tool if we don't know what we are doing. Therefore, before implementing the tool, it is important to see if there are existing resources with the expertise to manage Eloqua to your needs and to take it to the next level.

The true value of Eloqua can be used if business scenarios are advanced. It is certainly not the tool for just sending out e-mails. Although we are not using it currently, it has an advanced lead scoring functionality and a lot of other different features. It is certainly a good tool for larger organizations.

Oracle Eloqua is well suited for running campaigns, email marketing, and maintaining active/valid contacts (hard bounces and unsubscribes). We're also able to maintain reusable filters for better targeting when running campaigns.

Well-suited for big marketing teams trying to email their subscriber base (less than ~500k subscribers). Easy to build campaigns quickly, using HTML designed templates, and build complex segments.
Not well-suited for marketing teams trying to email their subscriber base above ~500k subscribers as their click-through tracking/data starts to go awry after emailing larger segment sizes.

Eloqua is a great platform for sending emails. It's second to none. It's got a wide array of features for building and enhancing emails with dynamic content, and has excellent data processing and list building tools.

I wouldn't bother using it as a business intelligence tool. You can answer great questions with Oracle BI, but without a major custom build it's never going to be the kind of database that can be an all-in-one marketing orchestration tool. That being said, though, it's clearly not built for that anyway.
