Our organization primarily used VNC before purchasing, but I've used Symantec PC Anywhere, GoToMeeting, ChromeRemote, TeamViewer, and LogMeIn. While Symantec was useful and LogMeIn has decent organization, ScreenConnect has by far been the most impressive regarding its interface and features. It's incredibly easy to use and customize if needed.

We feel that ConnectWise works better and faster than the above products. I was a big user of LogMeIn, but with their price increases I had to find a better way to handle my remote control needs, and ConnectWise came in and took care of the issues easily and allowed me to run my own server over the more expensive methods that these other solutions use.

ConnectWise Control (formerly ScreenConnect) is way more secure that Microsoft Remote Desktop Services. Using Remote Desktop Services from the internet leaves you wide open to hackers. ConnectWise solved the security issue right out of the box and had great up-time/availabilty stats.

Selected screenconnect because we only use it for remote connection and transferring files. It was a lot less expensive and allowed us to replace LogMeIn Central and LogMeIn Rescue subscriptions saving us thousands per year in fees.

We selected ConnectWise based on the recommendations of a key contractor and used it in comparison with several other interfaces. It seemed to be the simplest and most effective solution for the problems we were seeing with remote access. We don't have dedicated support personnel or even an IT department, so it helps to keep things simple.

While the Bomgar appliance has been quite reliable and only requiring an occasional reboot, ConnectWise Control has been 100% reliable. Bomgar was complex to set up, however, the ongoing management isn't overly complex. ConnectWise Control can integrate with Office 365 for login purposes which saves time when managing Control users. They both offer admin privilege escalation for the remote Windows workstation which is crucial. Control is much better priced than Bomgar.

I cannot add RemotePC to my list above but we looked at it, too. We used LogMeIn for several years but they kept on increasing the prices until we had to find a more cost effective solution. ScreenConnect costs less than one third that of LogMeIn with better functionality and support.

Before choosing SC, we reviewed TeamViewer (one time, large chunk of money, up front pricing was not palatable to partners), as well as GoToMyPC and RemotePC. Both of these options were much more expensive than SC for our access needs, although I see that RemotePC has revised their pricing.

ConnectWise Control offers more for less in all aspects compared to the competing platforms, plus features and services that would normally be unavailable otherwise and require the purchase of an overall package, which may include a lot of functions/services not required.

LogMeIn was a very good product with excellent features. Our biggest problem was cost and limitation on number of devices in a price range we could afford. Price instability was a concern as well.

We also reviewed Bomgar and liked a lot of the features. However, there was a known issue with server support that was a deciding factor in not selecting Bomgar.

We have used Zoho, LogMeIn and GoToMyPC. ConnectWise Control is much easier to use than these, more cost-effective, and handles remote printing like a champ.

LogMeIn was once a good piece of software to use. Although it was too clunky to be able to get clients to install the client onto their machine. Price skyrocketed through the roof which also didn't help. The performance of the actual remote control session was actually pretty slow compared to ScreenConnect.
