I use the system in a financial capacity running financial reports for internal and external users. In addition I manage the costing process for the company and maintain fixed assets and budgets.
Business problems the product addresses are easily run reports and customize as needed to get the data that is needed.
  • Journal Entries
  • Breakdown of detail in each transaction
  • Ability to add fields to help increase available data
  • Reporting - we have multiple classes where we would like to allocate indirect expenses.
  • Tax reporting. Suite Tax is limited so a 3rd party is involved
  • The use of 3rd party options tends to be overwhelming.
Scenarios where NetSuite works well is in the ease of transaction data flowing into the financials. The ability to set up multiple classes, departments, locations, and accounts and then get the data into where we need it is important.
Less appropriate would be the reporting functionality. Great for basic reports to see a company overview, but when you need to break down to other classes the reports are lacking.

We use
Order to Cash modules (Order Management, AR)
Procure to Pay (PO, AP, GL)
It is our main financial system for the end to end ERP process.
  • Order creation, Approval, Invoicing, Apply Payment
  • Create a vendor PO, Approve PO, Create Vendor Bills, Approve Bills
  • GL process
  • AP automation
  • Recurring Billing
  • Transaction Approval process
NetSuite is most suited for most of the financial processes.

We use NetSuite to manage all our data from multiple platforms. We needed a centralized platform to manage financials, inventory, transaction data, and more. NetSuite is great for that as it is a large sandbox that allows customization to for your needs. We have integrated multiple channels such as Shopify, Amazon, eBay, and various other apps and services that we use.
  • Financials
  • Inventory
  • Data management
  • User management
  • Freedom to more customization for built-in modules such as Inbound Shipments
  • WMS needs some improvements
NetSuite is well suited for companies needing a centralized platform for all their data. If you have multiple channels and services that are not interconnected, NetSuite helps with that. If you are a small company that does not have a lot of channels or data, NetSuite might be a bit overkill.

We mainly use NetSuite EPR for financial reporting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, financials, billing, commissions. It provides accurate reporting, billing and payables. We have built several customizations for automating commissions, billing and overpayment adjustments
  • Ability to customize forms, fields, lists, records
  • saved searches
  • user interface
  • Integration with other systems
  • integration with data warehouses
  • reporting
It works great for businesses that are growing and outgrowing Quickbooks and Quicken. In my opinion, it is too expensive for smaller businesses that could benefit with the functionality but cannot afford it

  • Financial coding

  • T&E
It is good for reporting on financial statements. In my opinion, It is difficult for financial coding due to segments and lack of easy integrations when have more than 3 segments.

I use NetSuite to build roles forms and processes that facilitate our customers journey throught the erc tax credit while keeping them up to date on the process. The customization is great for supporting all of the intricacies of the program as well as implementing complex workflows to handle a variety of cases. The roles is especially helpful in customizing the interface for the many stages of the credit.
  • Roles
  • Permissions
  • Workflows
  • customization.
  • Communication between different record types
  • Analytics tools are lacking many standard functions.
  • Documentation is lacking in many cases.
Wherever many different roles or complex processes are involved, it is great. If your processes are quite simple, I'd probably recommend more of an out of the box solution. It requires too much time overhead for many businesses that handle less volume. I'd recommend this to groups with the capacity to support a full time it user.

NetSuite is our ERP. We use AR, AP, Fixed assets and the general accounting modules.
  • The AP process is very smooth, especially with the addition of bill capture.
  • The accounting process is very straight forward. Easy to customize if needed.
  • The fixed asset system with respect to leases. Lease modifications don't work well, depending on the modification.
NetSuite is easy to customize if needed and really easy to learn

In general I am a superuser for NetSuite ERP and recommend it to most companies no matter the size. There are so many modules you can use to get everything you need out of one system without going to external vendors. If NetSuite ERP doesn't have the solution there are hundreds of vendors that connect directly into NetSuite ERP and sync seamlessly.
  • Financial Statements
  • Planning and Budgeting
  • OneWorld
  • Fixed Assets
  • Expense Reports
It is an all in one system that can solve all your financial and company wide operations. Between native NetSuite ERP and add on modules there is everything you could need to run your business.

We use NetSuite as our overall ERP system, running all departments and integrating with a third party manufacturing company. The system allows us to better analyze and house all our data and functionality in one ERP solution.
  • Detailed reporting tools
  • Security in roles and permissions
  • ease of use
  • integration possibilities
  • The manufacturing portion could be more robust and customizable
  • Better support, reps with more knowledge
  • The HR and payroll modules
While there are areas of improvement, you will have that with any system. NetSuite offers endless possibilities

We use NetSuite sale orders for bookings which are integrated from sales force. We use sales orders to generate invoicing records and collections. We use NetSuite ARM for Rev Rec allocations. In addition to Open Air for our Professional services organization to bill T&M consulting hours and recognize revenue. We use NetSuite for GL and consolidations. The Product was chosen as it was flexible during the time of company IPO in 2011. We have evolved it over time as we needed a system that can handle 606 Revenue allocations in 2017. Scope of the use cases is Order to cash and record to report workstreams on training, consulting services, support and licenses. I work in NetSuite on a day to day basis to review and approve orders, generate financial reports for Income and balance sheet, generate reports for revenue waterfalls, deferred revenue, GL postings, Journal reviews, Create save searches, create reports. NetSuite has been a great system for our company, we have some complications around Deferred Revenue postings at month end related to new updates which we hope to be solved for in future updates as currently we have to delete automated entrys NetSuite posts to our systems due to a recent update.
  • Save Searches are still awesome
  • Revenue SSP Allocations
  • Easy to use compared to oracle and sap
  • UI has not changed for years where as competitors have updated UI to be more modenernized
  • cash applications not alot of automation in the collections process
  • re-occuring monthly billings is difficult as it requires setting up schedules manually
  • some of our save searches for revenue waterfalls are getting to big and have slow run times. not sure if there is a way to improve performances but 24month waterfalls take a long time to generate as business grows and number of lines increase
  • reporting of backlog is not easy as data is not easily merried to data in NetSuite for ARR reporting
NetSuite is great for new companies starting out, its easy to learn and use, Users can build and customize there own reports easily. I think it would be cool if chat gpt can build my save searches for me as its difficult to remember the formulas in the searches overtime, unless that is your only role.

NetSuite has allowed us to consolidate financials for multiple locations, analyze our data on an ad hoc basis, and provide strong board reporting. It has also allowed us to customize many different modules so that it will work for all aspects of our business, including mortuary, cemetery, and property inventory.
  • Financial statements.
  • Reporting
  • Customer service.
  • Upgrades.
NetSuite has worked for our business, especially for our trust accounting and the different types of customizations. We need the custom records. The custom record function has allowed us to get flexibility and reports on all aspects of our company. We also really enjoy the dashboards and the KPIs.

Consolidate Financials, multi-location, multi sub, multi currency. CRM, WMS. We use the full suite, order to cash, procure to pay, reporting and analytics. We also leverage CRM, inventory management, and advanced manufacturing to manage our work orders, advanced BOMs, and routings. We also leverage the MRP.
  • Reporting
  • Dashboards
  • Consolidation
  • Support and the frequency of enhancements instead of actual fixes.
  • Pricing of products.
  • Strict framework of intercompany.
  • Management of complex assemblies and viewing multi-level BOMs.
Financials and reporting are very strong. The largest pitfall is poor implementation and special use cases not being fully proven during the demo and sales process to know that NetSuite will be a good fit. Reporting and general ease of use are very high and easy to promote user adoption.

We use NetSuite to do all of our accounting and Financial tasks. MTU sells Engineering hours to its customers, and Netsuite captures the time employees spend on Projects and collects their time in time sheets. Those hours are then the base for our invoicing to the customers. We utilize workflows and purchase orders for purchases. I also use the built-in amortization schedules for month-end close. The system helped us to move on from Excel spreadsheets, and we had all the data in one place.
  • Creating Financial Reports like Income Statements and Balance Sheets.
  • Memorized Transactions for automating tasks.
  • AR invoicing.
  • Training on how to use the system.
  • Finding the right fields in saved searches.
  • Updating Fixed Asset records after creating them.
NetSuite has a very user-friendly interface and it in general easy to use compared to other ERP systems like SAP. I love the fact that Journal Entries in an open period can be edited. NS can be customized to fit your company's needs but finding the right answers can be cumbersome. I find a lot of my answers on Google or YouTube.

We use NetSuite for everything from purchase order creation to sales order fulfillment. Because we are such a heavily regulated industry, there are a lot of rules that need to be followed when it comes to what materials can be used in manufacturing. Our order processing and management are done on NetSuite - sales order/cash sale, fulfillment, invoicing, billing, purchase orders, and inventory control. NetSuite congregates this order process in one place, which is nice.

  • Performance/speed.
  • Usability for casual or new users.
Since I am in the operations department, NetSuite is a good tool for us to be the liaison between warehouse/fulfillment and sales/marketing. It communicates effectively between the two - it is easy to manage specific customer requests and communicate them to the warehouse team to make sure orders are fulfilled in a timely manner and to the customer's specifications.
