Iterable has made it very easy to automate and personalize our campaigns. We're able to use several user attributes, from first name to even how many or what type of products they recently purchased. For example, if a customer purchased a specific style of shirt, we're able to capture that data and send them future campaigns based on that criteria.

Iterable is also good for multi-channel campaigns. For example, if the customer does not open an email in a week, we can send them an SMS.

Iterable handles event data at scale extremely well and has a robust API system for sending in data to allow for near real time messaging. Without a tool of this nature, we wouldn't be able to run certain portions of our business, like rush and lottery for tickets on Broadway which is an essential business unit for us. Iterable's platform is the one that does this for us.

I know that it's been powerful, and that Iterable makes it easier, but that's an aspect that's handled by a different department. So, while I've seen the results first-hand, I can't honestly speak to the use of those tools, but I can attest that they get us results - especially when it comes to SMS and push notifications.

Handlebars logic allows us to serve dynamic content in our messages based on user profile attributes. The segmentation tools also allow us to quickly size audiences and look through event histories of users in our lists. The testing and proofing functionalities also allow us to feel confident in launching our experiments.

I am able to set up and decide on what channels I use and when. I can create segments, identify customer engagement and set up different timing and cadence messaging to customers without asking my data science team for a list or for metrics around engagement. Iterable also has a feature in the journey flows that allows me to test different channels and then make decisions in optimization based on the channels that a customer better engages with it has saved us time in building templates so we don’t have to do 60 versions of something we can have a handful of templates that dynamically populate images, URLs, and content based on user profile fields

Iterable built their platform on automation and segmentation. Most of our campaigns are automated and segmented through Journey. Our company is subscription based and we have 5 different welcome series that are segmented based on the type of subscription they have. We segment through user attributed to automatically put the user in the specific journey. We also use automation to communicate with our users through triggers - ie. no login in X days, never downloaded app, saved $ in 6 months, etc.

The customer lifecycle campaigns leverage the customer's enrollment date to trigger communications and using logic gates in these journeys helps take the guesswork out of the communication date when delays happen upstream. Being able to also send batch campaigns and ensuring comms do not overlap between the journeys and one time send is a major enhancement over our previous state endeavors.

We are currently building out all of our automated journeys. Iterable's catalog capabilities have allowed us to start building out highly personalized email journeys based on a customer's lifetime journey with our organization and how they used the financial options we provide.

We can build lists quickly and efficiently and use them to create journeys that we can see and visualize easily. We can rollout campaigns quickly, because they are easy to build. The automation platform has helped us automate the customer re-engagement process by allowing us to send out messages at specific intervals after the customer has purchased. For this, we have used the email and SMS functionality with customer journeys. It has also given us the ability to easily segment our customer base with the dynamic building tool.

At Comparis, we have only consumed the Email functionalities. Here are a few takeaways:
  1. Iterable offers numerous possibilities of automation - We often use workflows / journeys in Iterable to facilitate this.
  2. It offers reusable codes (snippets) that is super helpful for headers, footers and anything that works across multiple emails.
  3. Send Time Optimization allowed us to deliver the emails to our customers when they are most likely to interact with it.
  4. It allowed us to take personalization to the next level, whereby we not only personalize simply based on user name and gender, but also the entire content of the email leveraging datafeeds.

It has massively changed the game for us in terms of automation.
With the previous ESP, we could not be able to do any clever targeting, drip-feed campaigns or dynamic field event-based triggers. We now can!
While I think the journeys and documentation could be improved, it has provided us with a great starting set for all things automation.

Iterable's platform affected me in: - Email: Unify campaigns sent from tools like Hubspot, our own systems, and marketing team email accounts - SMS: I had to build a custom solution for it using a local provider due to costs (we lost some of the trackings but it wasn't complicated to integrate) - Push and in-app notification: I had to build some code to support Flutter.

Personalization has been a goal for us for some time, and we are at the point where we are using customer traits more and more every day. The trick is testing what works and what doesn't, moving on when necessary, and trying the next thing to continue to grow our email and SMS engaged list. SMS has kind of been the one stumble in that the integration with Twilio and the ability to have access to the tools we need instead of working through support or an account manager can be frustrating at times. For email and SMS, there are log files that do help provide additional information when researching an issue, but as an Iterable customer, I do not have access to those tools and need to work with support to figure out if there were any problems with a send.
