We use TriNet for employee management, i.e. payroll, benefits, personnel administration. It is being used across the whole organization. As a small organization we are not able to provide the benefits or other services TriNet does cost effectively.
  • Payroll - Easy to complete, always accurate and problem solving is always a breeze (when I input information incorrectly)
  • Regulatory requirements - All personnel regulatory requirements are handled, we don't have to be experts in those areas (I-9s, employment law, compensation, etc). Someone is always available to ask and answer questions.
  • Counseling and personnel management issues - TriNet is always a great source of information and guidance when dealing with those tough management decisions surrounding personnel management (hiring, firing, disciplinary and training as examples)
  • New computer program is hard to navigate. Previous site (which is still available) was easier for me to navigate and I always found what I was looking for. This may be more of a user issue than a program issue though as I had a lot of experience with the old system and I'm still trying to learn the new one.

TriNet takes a lot of the management worry out of our daily work life. Staff has ready access to their information (payroll, employment forms, etc), no one on staff has to negotiate/find benefit options for our employees, payroll is simple, the entire hiring and termination administrative process is seamless.

TriNet offers training to management as well as supervisory staff in a variety of pertinent subjects. All training I have attended has been worthwhile and helpful as well as professionally conducted.

It is currently used just by myself (HR manager) and our accountant for check & balances regarding payroll. All of our employees use it as a means to easily identify insurance offerings and payroll inquiries. But I am currently the only admin.
  • TriNet provides great consistent communication of changes being made both within the system, and your company.
  • The employee solution center is extremely helpful and provides great support for the team.
  • Payroll can be a bit difficult to manage when making changes.
  • Changes to employee profiles/work displays cant be difficult and slow to process.
If you have someone to admin the platform, someone who is in charge of the employee experience and all that comes with, TriNet is a great solution. If you are unfamiliar with PEO, it can be tricky to manage.

Trinet is being used across our whole organization - HRPassport specifically to meet our payroll and benefit needs.
  • Onboarding process with new employees is very easy.
  • Trinet does an excellent job of open enrollment each year along with producing cost reports of benefits.
  • Human capital at Trinet is very helpful and knowledgeable.
  • Feedback from employees regarding Trinet's new platform has been negative. Employees were very happy with old platform.
  • When onboarding with Trinet, worker's compensation was not offered to our company.
  • High turnover of human capital consultants.
Well suited for small to midsize companies because Trinet is able to provide a platform for seamless onboarding of employees.

TriNet for the teeny tiny

TriNet is used by the whole organization. We are a very small organization, so having a HR professional is too expensive and overkill for us. TriNet allows us to cover our HR needs at a reasonable cost and helps us get good benefits. We like the ability to access help via email or phone.
  • Payroll--nary a snag.
  • Provides benefits based on 300,000 people not just our 4--makes it affordable and we get much better benefits.
  • Good customer service--love our rep Matthew!
  • An administrator's handbook or cheat sheets would be grand (maybe there is one?). I had an employee go on maternity leave and I had no idea how to set that up in advance.
  • As a new employee who'd never used TriNet, I didn't understand what I needed to do or how to get my benefit info to make decisions. A step-by-step guide for new hires would be helpful too.
  • Would love to see how much vacation time my staff have--I can't seem to find that report now either.
Small companies are a great place to use TriNet. For all the reasons I listed in this review. It probably helps to have staff that are pretty tech savvy too.

If you have complicated staffing scenarios, technology averse staff or a very large organization with lots of turnover, this may not be the solution for you.

TriNet is only used for our US entity, even though we are a global organization with offices in Europe and China. TriNet is used for payroll, employee benefits, workers compensation, etc. I am the authorized account user who also enters new hires into the system, I9 forms, etc.
  • Ease of Payroll reporting, deadlines, invoice notifications, etc.
  • Appreciate the advance notice of holiday closings, reporting date changes, etc.
  • The previous TriNet representative for my company provided outstanding customer service, and responded promptly to my requests for assistance, especially when I first began working for my company and TriNet was completely unfamiliar to me. After she accepted a promotion within Trinet, I must admit that the response time from my new representative has decreased dramatically, and I find myself very frustrated by that. She is always very polite, professional and apologetic, but it does not resolve the fact that a recent email inquiry went unanswered for over 10 days, even after I sent a second email, inquiring about the delay. Unacceptable in my opinion. I tried to access the information I needed from the website, (TriNet passport) but was unsuccessful, and thus, was forced to wait for her response. I understand that unexpected issues arise in the workplace, but there should be a protocol in place to continue to address client requests while TriNet works to resolve internal issues.
1. Ease of access to payroll reporting, etc. and breakdown/ explanation of TriNet reports. New hire tutorial is helpful, but sometimes find other tutorials too lengthy/not as helpful.
2. I feel the website, specifically the newly launched website, is not very user friendly. It does not easily highlight where to locate specific sections, and I am frustrated by its layout.

We use Trinet for processing payroll and providing benefits to our employees. It is used by the whole organization. Both functions are critical to our operation, since Trinet provides them in a cost-effective and competitive manner. Before Trinet, we had an extremely hard time procuring health care coverage that was cost-effective.
  • Cost effective health-care options.
  • Excellent support, very easy to get in touch with.
  • Timely payroll.
  • New online dashboard is buggy and missing functionality, needs work.
  • Sometimes information is difficult to find and is stored in multiple places. It would be nice to have a single place in the online dashboard where all the relevant PDF info sheets reside.
  • It would be nice if there was some sort of a live chat on the dashboard.
Trinet works well when there is no need for an internal HR department or where there is a desire to take advantage of their scale.

Our company uses TriNet for all HR, payroll and benefits needs. It allows us to consolidate previously separate systems and software out there into a single sign-in option for our employees. The entire company uses the product and the general feedback has been great. We have a dedicated account manager that helps navigate us through the process, and takes the administrative load off.
  • Administrative HR type things like new hires, terminations.
  • Benefits selection and pricing.
  • Compliance and reliability.
  • The dashboard software is a little bit buggy.
I think that TriNet is well suited for small or large organizations. It takes the guesswork out of benefits and HR. Payroll and reimbursements are a breeze with the Payroll dashboard. I think that TriNet should support contractor ACH payments & year end 1099 support. That would make the product more well rounded.

We use TriNet to manage payroll and benefits for the company. In my role, I also use TriNet for information around HR policies and guidelines.
  • Automatic payroll for full-time salary employees.
  • Dedicated Sr. Human Capital Consultant.
  • Customer Support for employees, especially during the open enrollment period for benefits.
  • Updates on policies and laws.
  • New website needs to be faster, less back and forth from old system to new system.
TriNet has worked well for employees under 100 and is cost effective for the services provided. Might not be a fit as companies grown beyond 100 people.

I have a small law firm. I use TriNet to manage payroll and benefits. It simplifies all the of the administration associated with these two critical functions, from setting compliant policies, to seamlessly processing payroll with correct withholding, to having a menu of benefit options to offer/select from. It's turn key and saves time so I can focus on my clients and growing my business.
  • Offers quality health insurance plans to select from. This is major benefit and a significant challenge for businesses to research and negotiate.
  • Administers payroll seamlessly with all withholding and forms handled properly.
  • Provides a framework of HR practices and policies so that time is not wastes reinventing the wheel.
  • The online interface is difficult to navigate. It could be much more intuitive.
I use TriNet as a small business and it is very well suited to my needs -- it saves me time or money I'd need to spend on administrative assistance in this area, which for a small business is not the best use of internal administrative skills. It is trustworthy, meaning that I can rely on it to ask the right questions at the outset, help me set everything up properly annually, and then not worry about it. Through clients I have also seen it used by larger organizations with hundreds of personnel across multiple jurisdictions. For these organizations it allows in-house HR to focus resources on strategy and talent acquisition/development while leaving the detailed administrative work to a service that has a purpose built HR/Benefits infrastructure rather than try to build and manage in-house HR administrative services.

We utilize TriNet for our small company. It handles our HR and Benefits.
  • They respond to our questions.
  • They correct problems.
  • The site is user friendly.
  • We've had glitches in the cloud options - mostly Expense.
It's a good cost saver for our start-up company so that we do not have to hire a HR department.

TriNet is our PEO. They handle all of our HR functions including payroll and benefits for the entire company.
  • Payroll is handled flawlessly.
  • The benefits selection is very good. I have not received any complaints about the benefit options.
  • The new web site is a bit cumbersome.
  • It would be good to have more flexible customer reporting.
TriNet is well suited for small to medium sized companies where god HR functions are important but they don't want to hire the expertise in house.

We use TriNet for on-boarding, payroll and benefits, as well as consulting for Human Resource matters. With the buying power of TriNet we were able to provide terrific benefits for our employees while still controlling our costs. Their customer service is outstanding.
  • When I send an email to our Client Service Specialist I hear back very quickly. If she is not able to resolve my problem on the spot she follows up until it is resolved.
  • We had a tricky HR matter and TriNet arranged a phone conference with an expert to help us resolve the matter, reducing risk to the organization.
  • TriNet provided an Implementation Specialist who made sure we got up and running successfully.
  • As much as I like TriNet I'm not a fan of the new Beta website. The old site was just fine. Fortunately, I can still link to it.
TriNet is perfect for small organizations who do not have the budget for a full HR department.

Our company uses TriNet as a payroll provider for our employees. It is an easy platform to navigate and it addresses our payroll needs with the good selection of benefits that our company can offer to employees. An all-in-one solution is what a small size company such as ours requires, with the paperwork and compliance is handled by TriNet.
  • Quick customer support is TriNet's strong side - whether it is through email or phone.
  • All the headaches of quarterly and annual filings are gone - this is professionally handled by TriNet.
  • Online reporting, onboarding of new employees, any employee changes are easy with the TriNet's platform.
  • Recently TriNet has updated the online platform - the new design is wonderful but just like with any change it takes some time to get used to.
TriNet's solution is perfect for a small to mid-size company without a separate HR department because it is easy to handle. All compliance changes are efficiently communicated via email and cannot be missed. It is a wonderful platform!

It is used by our entire organization. We use it for payroll services, as well as for HR management and compliance. We also use our TriNet reps for advice on HR issues and policies.
  • Efficient, consistent execution of the core functions of managing payroll and HR compliance
  • Great customer service from our HR and technical reps, who are very responsive and provide useful advice and/or technical solutions to our questions
  • Relatively easy to access all necessary info and reports online
  • We briefly had our technical support representative switched. The new person was not responsive or effective. Within two months, he had left the company and we had our original rep back, and have been very happy since.
  • The new website interface is cleaner and nicer to look at, but it's a little more challenging to find some of the information or pages I am looking for. I may just need to spend some more time getting accustomed to it.
For small to medium-sized businesses, TriNet has been a great solution to help us access much better insurance rates. It has also helped us feel confident in our HR compliance, policies, and practices without having to hire an expensive FTE with that specific background to build and administer our processes, etc.

We use TriNet as our payroll company, human resources manager, and benefits supplier. We also use it for performance reviews.
  • Support is outstanding
  • Benefits package rivals large companies
  • TriNet doesn't receive commissions on our benefits so they are working in the best interests of the company.
  • I would like to see them offer payroll budgeting software to assist the employer with budgeting.
  • I would like to see improvements in their PTO tracking system. We currently don't use it.
Excellent for payroll, and HR support. Benefits package is good too.

Repsly has 2 offices: Product Management and Development in Croatia (not using TriNet) and Sales, Marketing, Customer Operations in Boston (Using TriNet). Trinet is used for all HR related functions, including payroll administration.
  • Signup and management of heath benefit options. Straight forward and easy
  • Payroll administration - again, straight forward and easy
  • Compliance with HR Rules & Regs. We have had to spend ZERO time on thinking about this; TriNet takes care of all of it for us
  • Navigation and resources available on the employee website. I always have a difficult time trying to find out what my current coverage is, and what options are available to prospective employees. I would love to see a simple to navigate employee portal that shows clearly what options that employee selected, and links to easy to understand summaries of the options. Also would love to see a simple 'Kit' that could be shared with prospective employees to give them an idea of the breadth of coverages/services available to them.
Perfect for early stage companies that need to focus on growing the business.

I provide human resources consulting services with a small start-up biotech company, and utilize TriNet's services for all employees. Primary services are payroll processing and benefits administration. TriNet assists with compliance issues, but the most important business processes are benefits offerings for employees, managing benefits enrollment, and ongoing carrier accounting, and collecting/remitting payroll taxes.
  • TriNet's client service team is their best asset. They are for the most part very helpful and knowledgeable, and are willing to go the extra mile to assist with resolution of issues, whether initiated by TriNet or me. Gaby Lopez-Rizzo, Specialist, Client Services – Passport, is assigned to our account, and I have never dealt with a client service representative - in any industry - who is more knowledgeable and professional, and who truly cares about taking care of her clients.
  • TriNet's CRM seems to work very well. No matter who I speak with, they can access my company's records almost instantly and answer my questions or resolve problems.
  • Automated benefits enrollment, although there are occasional glitches, tends to work well and is relatively easy to navigate.
  • Self service portal for employees also works well and is easy to work with. I rarely get questions from employees regarding information available on line.
  • Complex issues that can't be handled at the CSR level and must be escalated to the various operating departments are, as a rule, not handled in a timely and proactive fashion. There are times when open issues continue for several weeks without resolution, and multiple follow-up calls are necessary.
  • The Beta site recently released remains "buggy". It would be better to work out as many issues as possible before release. For example, last week I completed a simple status change, and the system accepted part of the information but failed to load other fields. My CSR had to complete the change for me.
  • In general, for a company TriNet's size, report availability is underwhelming. The list of available reports has not changed materially in several years. Although most reports provide the ability to download to Excel, the download does not provide a user friendly means of organizing, sorting, and customizing the data. I would expect more customization options on the front end, and at least a download process that allows for easy manipulation in Excel. This is an area that needs a lot of work.
TriNet is well suited for a small company in start-up mode, as it provides multiple benefits options not available to smaller companies, and takes care of all the payroll accounting needs. It can even be of benefit to larger companies with multiple locations, especially if they are in more than one state.

I don't see any real scenario where PEO services would not be appropriate.

We use TriNet across our US organization to manage benefits and payroll. TriNet also helps us with compliance issues that arise with our business being in many different states.
  • Helps us to understand different state regulations in regards to compliance.
  • Manages our payroll and necessary deductions.
  • Works with our employees to address individual needs like short-term disability questions, healthcare benefits, and leave.
  • I have issues with their website logging me out when I try to access the Payroll screen. This has only happened since switching to the new version.
  • I would like to have the ability to remain logged in longer than 45 minutes.
TriNet is well suited to handle different requirements when it comes to state laws for leave, benefits, PTO, etc. We have benefited from their knowledge and it's nice to have one contact person to go to when questions arise.

The entire company uses TriNet. We have several employees working out of state as well. We have not encountered any problems. It is user-friendly and easy to navigate. All of the information I need for my company and myself are easily accessible. If I have any issues or need help, I am able to contact my representative and they walk me through what I need every single time.
  • Affordable Insurance Rates for employees - with good options for providers
  • Excellent Customer Service
  • Payroll processing, state taxes, etc are all handled by TriNet
  • Email delivery of Payroll reports would be great! If I didn't have to go in and get them, it would save me time.
Any company that is offering insurance benefits to its employees should look into TriNet. The rates are affordable for employees and the cost to the company is minimal. TriNet handles the payroll as well as all HR functions, with everything our employees need accessed through the employee site. Onboarding and legal documents are handled by TriNet as well. The whole organization. We have employees in two countries. TriNet helped us find one solution to handle payroll, taxes, etc. in both countries. We have a small staff (4). Access to benefits in the US is essential. TriNet gave us access to good benefits at a good rate. Also, assistance in managing payroll and taxes. Benefits are less important in Canada, but we were able to give our employees additional benefits, as well as gaining payroll and tax assistance.

  • Payroll reporting function

We use TriNet for all of our associates information on new hires and terminations and also payroll. They keep all reports on the associates and issue payroll and W-2's at the end of the year. TriNet is always there to help with HR questions and they also keep us updated on all our OSHA posters.
  • They are always there to answer questions.
  • If our rep. is not available there is someone that will answer our questions in their absence.
  • Our employees have full access to talk to someone to help them.
  • I can say that I did like entering "Special payroll" before the new system was updated. That has been taken away now.
TriNet is well suited for a company that doesn't want to maintain information on their associates to be in compliance, and do not want to be responsible for W-4's at the end of the year.

  • They are always available to assist with any issues our agency may have related to employees.
  • They need to look at their rate scale and how they increase their rates annually.

We use TriNet for payroll and HR inquiries. Note, the initial window which shows my secondary business (Interior Design) is not correct as the use of the product. Currently, TriNet is used for the Research and Development company (Akonia Holographics) for which I operate as their finance and office administration manager. Employees use it to see what their PTO balance is, but other than that, I'm not sure they use the website to the extent that I do.
  • Assist me with HR situations.
  • Ease to process payroll and access reports.
  • Ease to review employee statements, PTO balances and the myriad of inquiries I need to review.
  • I have received feedback from the employees that there are long wait times when accessing the Solution Center. There appears to be resistance when it's necessary to contact the dept.
  • The process to understand their health care options seems to be a bit challenging. Given I am a part time employee, I have not used this portion of the website, therefore I am conveying the input from our employees.
Others and myself have used other services and are actively contacted to transfer to other payroll/HR services. However, I am familiar with some of them and I feel that although TriNet make not be "perfect" it still outshines its competitors, such as ADP, ZenFits (spelling?), in addition to others of whom I am unable to recall their names have also contacted me.

TriNet is used across our whole organization as our payroll and benefits provider.
  • TriNet is a great solution for compliance, payroll and benefits.
  • TriNet is responsive and trustworthy.
  • TriNet creates cost savings for our company.
  • TriNet's user interface could be more modern.
  • TriNet's client reps are inconsistent. Some are fantastic, others are not.
Great for a small startup.

It is being used across the organization. They have a great support system and are always available during the working hours. They also offer great health benefits etc. for our employees. Our main reason for ever considering to stop using their service is specific to how much the service fee is per employee. As a small nonprofit, it takes away about $25,000 of our yearly budget on their services specifically. That is an amount we were hoping to not pay.
  • Their support from 9am-5pm Monday-Friday is second to none.
  • They have great benefits.
  • They file all required legal documents and take that headache away from us.
  • Being available 24/7.
  • Help demo how to use their portal better, always tough to navigate.
  • Trying to get requested items back to us in a shorter period of time.
I think everything is very good on TriNet's end, honestly the only reason why I would tell others to do look into PEO's elsewhere is if they can find a more cost efficient provider. It has been tough on our budget, but, they have been great and I am happy we decided to work with them.
