8x8 is deployed across our entire organization and it helps bridge the communication gap between all of our offices across North America. The mobile applications also enable us to be mobile and continue to stay connected to our business by allowing us to take and make calls on it and not miss a beat.
  • We've received excellent support from our account manager, who is always attentive to our needs and always has a suggestion on how to improve our experience.
  • The service is always up when we need it and we have never experienced major outages.
  • The 8x8 support team is well trained and can give a resolution to most problems on the first contact.
  • The fax function on 8x8 Virtual Office Pro is not as reliable as I would expect. Sometimes it takes 2 or 3 tries to connect to the destination machine.
  • The Virtual Office app for Android will behave differently on different vendor implementations of the system. On Samsung phones running Android 9.0, the phone will ring but it will sometimes not pick up the call when the phone is locked.
  • I'd like the ability to switch external phone numbers from one device to another from the 8x8 Account Manager portal rather than to have to go through support to do this.
  • It would be nice to have the option to change Virtual Office plans on the fly and add Pro licenses to different extensions.
  • The web admin interface is a little clunky and looks outdated. It would look better if it followed the design guidelines that 8x8 uses for the application picker and the Virtual Office Desktop app
8x8 is a great solution for any business phone needs, from a single phone line to an entire organization. The virtual meeting rooms are useful as well to conduct meetings with clients or with other members of the staff. The implementation of the mobile apps on Android still needs some work (perhaps more testing against the implementation of different vendor skins for Android). One pitfall of the current implementation is that the 8x8 Account Manager portal is still limited and you have to make certain changes through support or the Account Rep.

Initially, it was purchased as a "we need a quick phone system" for a new building being set up after a corporate divestiture. After our initial experience with that building, we have now implemented it in two other facilities and have plans for at least 2 more as the phone systems reach end of life. In these buildings, it is the primary phone system used by employee's both traveling and local. It has also allowed us to give some remote employee's business phone extensions out of their home office.
  • Audio Quality: I've just never had a single complaint which is normally a concern with a VOIP service.
  • Mobility: The versatility allowed moving between desk-phone, cell phone app and or computer all working interchangeability
  • Available sales force: I have never once had difficulty getting in touch with my account manager when needed.
  • When things go right with a phone setup, they go very well and take moments. When there are issues particularly when swapping devices, the troubleshooting steps are not always clear.
  • Improved user documentation. While the technical materials are generally pretty good, the user documentation is not as clear on features as it might be.
  • Technical Support team (sometimes) feels like they are reading straight from a station book. After issue escalation the teams are fantastic, but sometimes the level of detail wanted to get to that point is a bit out of step with the issue.
For small offices in the 1 - 300 range, it is both cost-effective and easy to manage by one person. Beyond that, it may require a small team.

We use 8x8 as our sole phone/communication system company-wide. We are a private healthcare company with two separate office locations. Additionally, we have several employees who work remotely. 8x8 allows our employees to communicate seamlessly. We replaced our old traditional phone system with 8x8 about 4 years ago. When our phone system/power would go out, patients could not reach our office. It was the best decision we could have made, especially now that we are living in a pandemic and have shifted a percentage of our workers to remote, safe locations such as their homes.
  • Remote: Work from anywhere.
  • Meetings: Secure video chat with teammates.
  • Highly customizable
  • The new admin console is somewhat glitchy, it won't load certain pages correctly
  • The migration from Virtual Office to X Series was somewhat painful—many glitches that broke the system down and severely impacted our business.
  • Disappointed that extensions need to be 4 numbers instead of 1.
Any company that utilizes phones for communication should use VOIP. 8x8 X Series specifically is a very customizable product that is well suited for any such business. I can't think of a single scenario where VOIP 8x8 X Series would not be appropriate. It has plenty of bells and whistles

I have used 8x8 for 10+ years and find the services sound, robust, and exceptionally functional for the business need. Service has been stellar and the ability to meld the service to the employee function has never faltered. 8x8 rocks! America Insurance Brokers will continue to implement at our multi-office business, and for additional offices in the near future.
  • Fax service
  • Adaptability of use per device
  • Enterprise-wide call recording and accessibility to those recorded calls.
  • Sales process responds slow.
  • Cost for recorded call hosting is high.
  • Handset to bluetooth is not as strong as preferred.
In a non-centric office environment where you're working from home/library/coffee bar, the functionality is seamless. The call recording process for transferred calls does not follow well to find the recorded call. If an extension answers the call and hangs up, the call recording is well found. If the original extension answers then forwards that caller to another extension, the call is not found in the final extension's recorded call database.

8x8 is being used across the whole organization. Now that everyone is working from home, we only have a handful of desk phones.
  • Very easy to setup
  • Easy to customize
  • Audio is great
  • Rich features
With everyone now working from home, having the flexibility of having the app installed on laptops and mobile devices without losing functionality makes 8x8 a winner.

We are using the phone system across our whole organization. We like having the flexibility of working remotely through the app as if we were at the office and integration with Outlook for easy scheduling of video calls. We also like the flexibility off making changes to our phone system in real time that's user friendly.
  • Pricing is economical and many features are included in the standard package without having to piecemeal basic features to create a solution.
  • Customer support is great to work with and we have never had to wait to talk to a live person.
  • The admin portal is very user friendly & easy to learn [how] to use.
  • Occasionally there are minor glitches with the phones not syncing up with the Admin portal that require phones to be rebooted, factory reset or changes in the interface.
  • Would like to have more flexibility for customizations within ring groups.
8x8 X-2 series seems to be particularly well suited for smaller, simple phone configurations with higher packages being more well suited for larger organizations with more complicated structures. It is very beneficial in scenarios where staff are working remotely but need to keep the appearance of working in the office, and for offices that have multiple locations but need their phone structure to work as if they are one organization.

  • Easy analytics
  • More fun interactions on virtual meetings, such as backdrops etc.

It's been a great experience upgrading to IP phones, it is a pure technical feat of features and with the auto attendant blocks 99% of Robocalls. We use the service primarily because of their softphone application. We use a customer management system that integrates with 8x8 and our computer-based customer management system. This eliminates the need for bulky handsets. Their softphone application is easy to use and intuitive for us to learn. The softphone system also syncs with their smartphone app so we can receive calls, texts, and voice mail on our remote devices.
  • Softphone app
  • Remote device access to our calls and messages
  • The support app is cumbersom
  • The support app has real people available who solve this issue
The service is well suited for any situation where you need service people to integrate their customer support software with customer phone contact using headsets.

We are able to access the system and make changes seamlessly. We constantly need to make changes and 8x8 does the trick. The user portal is very helpful when making changes to numbers and call forwarding options. Tracking is another feature we use quite a bit to track trends in calling habits.
  • Track activity
  • Make changes in the system
  • Add and delete users.
  • Porting numbers
  • Assigned rep to handle any question.
The ease to make changes to the system seamlessly. We just had a change over of personnel and we needed to add someone as an administrator. All it took was one call to our representative and he was able to get the person set up and have the ability to make any changes right then and there.

We were using a product from Fusion which was difficult to use and lacked features, so at the end of that contract we looked into several vendors (Ring Central, Nextiva, Mitel, etc.) and 8x8 had all the features we were looking for and we could set it up ourselves easily. Our users love the built in conferencing which really helped us work when the pandemic hit and users were working from home. The online training and videos our users had access to really sold us too. All in all it's been great for us so far.
  • We love the conference calling since many users are working from home.
  • The fact that we can reprogram it on the fly without having 8x8 do it is a big plus.
  • Being able to take the phones with us using the app on our cell phones is a bonus.
  • It does take a some technical skills to setup and maintain the system, but 8x8 is always available to help out.
  • Some of the demo/training videos haven't ben updated to match the updated screens.
Having looked at the other major competitors, 8x8 does everything we need from it in our various locations and we haven't had any major issues that gave us downtime in over two years. The easy conference calling feature that doesn't require downloading and installing a program is a plus due to potential security issues installing software can cause. All in all, we have been happy with it.

8X8 X Series is being used across the whole organization and is integrated to assist in customer relations using recordings for staff training and role playing. I also manage the agency using the system while away from the office. The virtual office system is strategic to managing and tracking agency activity
  • Ability to email, fax, and text
  • Ability to record and listen to converstions for training
  • Ability to make calls away from the office to work remotely
  • Ability to answer office calls away from the office
  • Occasionally we have bad connection service; however, technical support is always able to fix it.
I found 8x8 X series well suited for all facets of managing the agency in and out of the office.

We use 8x8 for two companies for all incoming and outgoing calls, starting in early 2015. We have a competitive priced global plan which allows for unlimited calls to approx. 40 countries which is very convenient for our international business.

The company offers several options to set-up calls queues. The service team has always been reachable and attended to any requests during the last five years. As a public company, 8x8 provides us with the confidence that they act in the best interests of all their stakeholders - customers, employees and shareholders.
  • Excellent customer service.
  • Very competitive pricing.
  • Convenient online, internet based phone menu to receive & make calls on computers & phones.
  • Public company status provides customers with added confidence in 8x8's operations.
  • The global unlimited plan could include perhaps countries in the Middle East in the future.
  • The global plan could perhaps include additional mobile phone numbers in certain countries.
  • Otherwise no complaints or ideas for improvement.
8x8 is great to consolidate several different phone numbers for different companies all in one 8x8 set-up.

8x8 is great when you travel since you can receive your calls worldwide.

When you need unlimited calls to many countries, 8x8 is a great solution, having researched many available options.

8x8 is used for all of our conference lines at work in each room. Anytime a client needs to call in, they use the number provided by 8x8. All of their numbers are set up on our Polycoms (VoIP phones) and it's flawless! Great service for a growing startup; once it's set up, you can forget about it!
  • Setup
  • Customer Support
  • Managing platform
In a business environment where you want a phone setup with a number, or a virtual setup on a desktop, 8x8 is the way to go. The virtual app is really great! It has a Do Not Disturb (DND) mode for when you're busy and you can just use the computers config (mic and sound) to run it. Awesome!

It is being used to aid in communication between locations, to integrate and make available multiple applications to all users and to replace old phone systems.
  • Easy to set up.
  • Easy to manage.
  • Easy to communicate with other users.
  • Easy to manage numbers.
  • Admin Console - it would be nice to be able to sort by more fields.
  • It would be nice for agents to have a portal with access to all accounts.
  • Ring Groups should be able to forward directly to another voicemail box.
8x8 X Series is suited for small to large offices. It is easy to setup and manage. I haven't run into a situation where it's not suitable unless it becomes an issue of cost.

This application is being used company wide, but of course not everyone chooses to use it. It address[es] the issue of being reached virtually anywhere, depending on how you have this application setup.
  • Transfer calls.
  • Send SMS texts.
  • See who's online.
  • Chat features.
  • Setup/Hear voicemails.
  • Doesn't tell you when you need to upgrade your software
  • SMS sometimes doesn't work and no one knows why
I believe this application is very suited for everything. You can send text messages from a number that's not your desk phone, receive, and transfer calls. Setting up is super simple and integrating SSO is super simple as well. There's multiple ways to logon and multiple ways to receive calls/access voicemails on site as well as offsite.

My biggest complaint is when they upgrade their software they don't notify anyone, but you'll get an error message stating you don't have permission to use the application. This is misleading because all they have to do is download the latest version from the website.

In addition to providing 8x8 X Series services to my clients, I also use it as my in-house system providing a better means for my customers and prospects to stay in touch with me via voice, text, or video conference. I am a certified Sales Engineer for 8x8 with the ability to perform full Network Analysis testing to confirm the viability of adding a voice application to the users current network.
  • Their Desktop and Mobile apps are well thought out and easy to use.
  • They include all the features into the basic X2 extension that most companies need.
  • They have an excellent migration path into the product as well as growth within the product.
  • Add the voicemail transcription function to the mobile app.
  • Allow admin without X License and phone access to capability to record auto attendant greetings - this was lost between account manager and config manager.
  • Set up "Super User" access to accounts I've setup - one login and select account to work on...
I haven't come across a scenario where 8x8 was not well suited - Over the past year, I have not installed any premise based PBX's - 8x8's service has been less expensive to implement, maintain, and has features the older PBX's don't offer. I work in several vertical markets and have been very pleased with how well the product fits all needs.

It is downloaded on each computer and the staff uses headsets either wired or wireless. It is also used for video chats for employee education and instruction. There customer support is very accessible, it is offshore, but they usually fix my issues the first time I call.
  • Frees up desk space since an actual phone is not required.
  • I can see who is on the phone or available when needing to transfer a call.
  • I can text message via the Virtual Office.
  • I can record calls when difficult circumstances arise.
  • Customer Support is very professional and helpful
  • I would like to be able to share my screen with others outside the 8x8 platform.
8x8 X Series works well in any standard business or service office including medical and counseling offices.

It’s great for using to organize conference calls with internal staff and with leads. It has lots of great features and makes life and business very easy. 8x8 customer service is also amazing and is very courteous and friendly with listening to the situation and coming up with a fast solution. We have different offices in different states and 8x8 makes conference calls and transferring calls super easy! I know that my company has used 8x8 for a long time and is very satisfied with it.
  • Great IT support.
  • Great features. I really enjoy how easy it is to navigate each feature such as fax, text, missed call. I also love the feature of being able to see all past calls/faxes/texts so I can trace anything back for reference.
  • Great communication tools.
  • I would like a way to receive an email when I have a new incoming text message on my 8x8.
Suited for great conference calls due to easy connecting and easy setup. It allows us to be on time for our
internal customers and our external customers who are joining a call/conference call. 8x8 also has amazing

I've used 8x8 for my home-based business for more than 10 years. Because my business had an artist that traveled world-wide, I found 8x8's service internationally as well as domestically to be advantageous. I particularly like the ability to capture texts and turn them into text files. There are many other aspects of 8x8 that I haven't discovered yet--many solutions to problems that haven't arisen yet await.
  • Long distance calls
  • The ability to reference call records easily
  • The ability to use contacts
  • Remote answering and texting using ad-hoc wireless connection with my mobile device
  • The system dies without power unlike a copper-based phone.
  • The user billing/interface is VERY clunky.
  • I'm not clear on transferring or picking up second calls (in other words, a call that occurs during one that is being made on the same line).
8x8 X Series is well suited for cheaper international calls, the ability to send and receive calls and texts remotely, and an easily accessible record of calls placed.

We are currently using 8x8 as a company-wide solution for our phone system. It addresses our need to have mobile solutions whereas we are always on the go. With 8x8 we can answer the office phone no matter where we are. Additionally, we can easily forward, monitor, and address all phone needs with ease. It also provides a fax solution for us that alleviates the need for us to have an additional line for the very few times we need it throughout the year.
  • Ease of Programming
  • Versatility
  • Ability to be mobile yet still answer the office phone
  • Programming of individual phones
  • Setup, while easy, can be cumbersome.
I believe 8x8 X Series is well suited for a small to medium business where the key players are always on the move. The capability of having the phone system at the ready no matter where you are is wonderful. Additionally, calls can easily be forwarded from one user to another or outside the organization if you wanted to forward to another person.

I'm not sure it would be so well suited as an enterprise solution for a large organization, though admittedly, there may be options within the program that I'm unaware of that make it the right solution for these customers.

We use 8x8 throughout the organization. We have two locations and both are managed by the IT team. We use ring groups, and it has helped us to use our internal resources more effectively. We can communicate between sites very easily. We can support this through the web management portal and do not have an on-premise PBX.
  • In the last 3 years, I can only remember one brief outage.
  • I have found the support to be faster than many other providers.
  • It has been easy to manage the system through the web portal.
  • It can be difficult to reconfigure the Polycom phones, as we have several models.
Any LAN drop can be used, so it is easy to add the phone, but if not a POE switch, you need the AC adapter, which can be limiting. There are areas on a production floor without a nearby receptacle.
