We use 8x8 X Series for all of our phone systems at 3 different office locations. It works well for us to be able to manage calls coming in and they are appropriately routed to the location/person the caller is needing. The system helps us manage a large volume of calls coming in from all of our employees. The ability to use the smartphone app has also made our company more efficient.
  • Call Forwarding
  • Smart Phone App
  • Ease of Use
  • Easier to use back office
  • Call quality at times
  • Texting
I haven't had any issues with the service and would recommend it to anyone with the same call volume.

We use it [8x8 X Series] across the whole company. It's a one-stop-shop for all phone, meeting, and fax needs.
  • Faxes
  • Mobile phone App
  • Meeting scheduling via Outlook
  • Often I pick up a phone, however, my computer keeps ringing for another minute or so.
  • Fax issue, where quality is not perfect or unsupported file, the whole thing doesn't go through...or actually keeps reloading and trying to send without actually sending.
It [8x8 X Series] works well for small size company that needs a one-stop solution. I think that really small officers or larger enterprises would be better served by a more robust system where they have an IT team and more control over the entire flow.

We run a small, single-provider, pediatric office, and we love using 8x8 [X Series] to communicate with our patients. It's so easy to use, and being able to take calls remotely has been huge during the pandemic and even before that. We like that we can have a single number that can be answered by anyone on the team from pretty much anywhere in the world that has an internet connection. We also use the fax services, and initially, we had some issues with consistency, but we haven't had any problems in the last few years.
  • Taking phone calls from anywhere (via mobile and/or computer/web app)
  • Customer service is phenomenal
  • Rock-solid reliability
  • Very affordable and flexible offerings
  • Set up can be complicated for the layperson, so you'll need someone who can handle that, but support is generally great.
8x8 [X Series] is great for unifying your communications across a team, department, or company. We use it at a very small pediatrics office, but there are tons of features for scaling, so it would be great regardless of whether you're a small team or a huge company. It's also great if you have a remote team because you can take calls from a single number from anywhere as well as set up individual numbers for each individual that can be answered from an app on your phone or computer.

I utilize my 8 x 8 [X Series] exclusively to communicate via phone to my clients. Everyone contact is initially via phone then later in person. My company does work internationally as well, so I love that out-of-state calls are just as clear as those I take initiated within the state of Texas, USA.

Used across all departments, used for employee-to-employee communication via instant message, used to communicate with clients via SMS. The phone app has made it possible to effectively communicate on the go. [8x8] X Series has progressively intergraded mobile technology including the ability to send and receive texts and photos from mobile to desktop. This feature alone has refined how we communicate with clients and the convenience is well taken.
  • Text
  • Instant message between users
  • Setting up away greetings for days we are closed is a complicated process, it would be nice to see this simplified and integrated into virtual office.
  • Caller Id and call history do not always work in real-time with the user interface. Some employees will see the missed/incoming/outgoing call history and others will not see certain calls.
  • Integrating the FAX to the same virtual desktop interface would be great. Having to log in to a different account to send a fax seems outdated and require[s] an extra step.
Great as a office communication platform.

We use 8x8 for our U.S. team. We have used it overseas in years past as well but don't anymore. It allows us to still have a virtual presence even though we haven't been in a physical office setting in almost two years. We use the auto attendant feature to route calls and the virtual interface to check voicemails.

It [8x8 X Series] works well for our company, scales both up and down, and it fits our budget well. I can see this working for a larger company as well as they have a lot of flexibility with their plans. We were able to transfer over our office phone numbers when we first started using them 21 years ago. It would also work well for a small office as there's a lot of room to grow.

We use 8x8 [X Series] as our primary telecommunication provider, including phone lines and fax lines. It is used by the entire company and assists with our calling and faxing needs.
  • Mobile App allows for flexibility.
  • Provides alternate forms of communication (calls, faxes, messaging, meetings).
  • Length of time for faxes to be transmitted (a little inconceivable for digital services).
In the current environment of uncertainty with job locations (working from home or the office), 8x8 [X Series} does offer the mobile app that can be used from anywhere with cell coverage and allows the users to text their clients through the app without having to divulge personal contact numbers.

We used 8x8 [X Series] to supply a remote office with telephone service. We needed to get telephone service to this office fast and the building did not have telephone hookup (and the timeline from the telephone company was 2 months) but we were able to get internet access installed. We decided to use VOIP with 8x8 and we were able to install the solution within 2 weeks.
  • Great service
  • Great technical support
  • Quality equipment
  • Voicemail settings can be confusing for some users, make some easy guides.
  • Offer warranty on phones while you have service.
  • Offer discounts on phone upgrades after 2-4 years.
8x8 [X Series] is great for small companies who have less than 100 users mostly because of costs and management. 8x8 has mobile working capabilities and makes it easy for users to work at alternative locations. Large business[es] may find it cost prohibitive because when you have that many users the cost of a phone system and infrastructure usually is less costly per user.

We used it to communicate by voice, text, meetings, and fax while in the office or traveling around the world. The 8x8 Virtual Office app on our smartphone acts as a cordless extension of our desk phone, so we can answer/make calls from anywhere. Sometimes we let a person without a desk phone extension use the 8x8 app on their cell phone to share the same extension with 2 users. It is great to make calls on the app to reflect the caller ID of our company instead of the caller ID of our cell phone. Texting with our company extension number is great since we don't have to give out our personal cell phone numbers for texting anymore. Our sales people love Virtual Office since their caller ID reflects their DID number, so their potential clients can call them directly instead of having to call the main number to have their call routed by the receptionist. Faxing is instantly received and stored for a long time on Virtual Office. No need to come into the office to check the fax machine for an important document. We have saved time and money using 8x8 Virtual Office.
  • Great for communicating with your company employees.
  • Convenient for having meetings through the conference bridge.
  • Powerful phone system with many features that can be modified easily to adapt the phone system flexible customer needs.
  • Has everything you need to communicate with businesses in one place: voice, fax, text, meetings, etc.
  • Need the ability to send text attached files or pictures to contacts.
  • Need an easier way to block callers with a block phone number button similar to cell phones.
It is a must-have for salespeople or people on the move. You don't have to worry about power outages bringing your phone system down. The 8x8 Work app keeps you connected to your phone system 24/7/365.

8X8 Virtual Office is being used by our entire organization for doing meetings, listening and reading voicemails on their computer screens, [and] looking up extensions. It is also being used remotely on people's cell phones when they are not in the office working. Virtual Office addresses our organization problems with COVID and having to work remotely. It is a very good product in my opinion.
  • Web Meetings
  • Seeing Voicemails
  • Looking up other extensions
  • Make it easier to connect to the person's calendar for meetings.
8X8 X Series is well suited for our organization as we have numerous sites and it shows you exactly who is calling you. It is very user friendly for all users. I find it particularly easy to change a person's name and if necessary their voicemail password as that is part of my job to make sure that everyone can easily access their voicemails.

8x8 X Series is utilized by our entire organization as a soft-phone option. We utilize it as the primary support telephone as well. While we have been with 8x8 [X Series] for over 10 years we have become increasingly frustrated with the product. Constant required updates and dropped calls have been an expected distraction at our organization. Unfortunately, our support documentation and infrastructure [have] maintained the relationship. There was a recent update which we hope will improve the performance issues.
  • 8x8 [X Series] is easy to install and pop up notifications work well.
  • Voicemail works well, and recording options are simple.
  • Controls are simple when using the app via phone or Mac.
  • Calls are frequently dropped, or connections are unstable despite quality wifi connection. Improving the parody between 8x8 vcc and soft phone would drastically improve our [functionality].
  • The recent update created multiple disruptions in service despite the email notification.
  • US based support, or people who speak english more clearly would benefit our company greatly.
8x8 [X Series] has consistently been a good option for internal calls, however, with daily dropped calls through our support line and constant needs for closing and restarting the application we've become frustrated as an organization.

We are cautiously optimistic that the latest update will resolve our struggles. In the event that we continue to utilize 8x8 [X Series] for our VCC and soft-phone option moving forward and see what we've come to expect, we will likely pursue another solution.

This is the primary telephonic communications format for the legal practice. It is a VOIP phone system, that can be accessed via VOIP desk phone, and AP on my PC for when I am operating remotely or by an App on my smartphone. It communicates with my contacts on outlook, so it records callers' names, phone numbers, and then the number of times called and the duration of each call. It also serves as my fax machine sending faxes by uploading scanned documents and it receives faxes primarily via a PDF attachment to an email. Records of calls in, calls out and faxes, and an out last for a significant period of time.
  • Handles multi party calls vi its bridge/conferencing capability.
  • Voicemails are retained online, are accessible via the desk phone, via the online app and are delivered by voicemail that can be saved as a permanent record.
  • Sending and receiving faxes is easy and can be done at your desktop, the PDF attachments of each fax can be saved and filed in the appropriate cleint document file.
  • The PC app, the smartphone app and the desk phone all readily connect to Bluetooth hearing devises.
  • I sometimes have difficulty accessing my admin folders to change certain information; generally, communications via support easily resolve this issue.
For me as a solo practitioner, it [8x8 X Series] is well suited for all telephonic and facsimile functions.

Our organization uses 8x8 X Series [(Formerly Virtual Office)] to manage incoming calls to our Client Support team.
  • Daily Reporting
  • Incoming calls
  • Calls are frequently dropped
  • Calls will frequently come in but when answered, will fail to connect
  • Internal transfers result in dropped calls
8x8 [X Series (Formerly Virtual Office)] is fairly easy to use, as the UI is fairly user friendly. However, the actual functionality has varied results. Oftentimes, when a call is answered it will fail to connect fully, and either the caller or recipient is not able to hear the other party. Additionally, calls are frequently dropped. Users are forced to restart the program on a regular basis.

The 8x8 [X Series (Formerly Virtual Office)] is being used by one of the smaller sites in group, as a Unified Communication platform. It is being used by the whole site staff and factory. It helped us address working from home through COVID-19 it allowed our staff to still take business calls from any location. Our team used phones, phone app and the desktop app.
  • Desktop App
  • Easy to Deploy
  • Flexibility
  • Pick Up Groups need to simpler

  • Online Management portal [laid] out better

It is well suited to flexible business that allow flexible working from home and in the office. It is a perfect system for people on the move with the mobile app.

The 8x8 platform is being used across the entire organization. We are routing calls to local showrooms and then rolling over to our customer service queue in Illinois. Since changing from our old UCS system, employees have had the flexibility to work remote. Also, the IT department has started to use it when providing support to end users at remote locations. Being able to start a video meeting via our cellphones by one click is very helpful.
  • Faxing is straight forward
  • VM notifications
  • Directory is easy to navigate
  • Customer support needs some serious changes. The inability to email a ticket in is extremely frustrating. 60% of the time support technicians are quick to blame the customers environment for issues without adequate troubleshooting or review from the engineering team.
  • Updates to the VoIP client need to be QA'd better. Making an update available that breaks features such as call forwarding, warm transfers and parking calls in unacceptable.
  • Maintenances on 8x8 X Series infrastructure need to be done off-hours or on weekends. Pushing an update midday and causing an outage for either desk phones or the 8x8 app is unacceptable. We had several instances this quarter where one or the other would stop working only to have it resolve on its own 2 hours later.
  • 8x8 mobile app has call echo more than 50% of the time. This occurs whether or not we are on wifi.
8x8 (non contact center edition) is well suited for smaller businesses that do not rely heavily on calls. If you need heavy reporting on queues or extension usage the basic x series licensing is not for you. Even with the x4 call analytics license assigned I find myself needing more when reporting.

I use it to manage my offices when I had multiple offices. Within the last 12 months, it appeared that 8x8 upgraded its services, as well as how "available" customer service was available. These changes are difficult and cumbersome whereas the original interface was very user-friendly. Then, in order to attempt to get help from customer service, it takes between 30 minutes and an hour just to get results. Finally, without warning, I have been "canceled" for the better part of 2 months—for no reason. My account is fully paid and However, whatever changes made by the company were terrible. It is cumbersome and I cannot get customer service. Despite being paid up and having a credit on my account, my account has, and continues to be, canceled. Now I cannot even accept customer service as the telephone number refuses to get me to a live person and when I do "chat", I cannot get help because my email is "not recognized." Finally, twice now I have been in contact with a "cancellation specialist" who now refuses to respond to me.
  • None
  • Customer Service needs to be competent and accessible.
Zero. There is no chance that I will recommend any 8x8 product. At the height of my business, I spent $278 per month. Now, I still spend $156 a month and get extremely poor customer service. If a business has time to spend on dealing with administration rather than focus on the aspects of business, then one can spend the money and time to deal with issues.

8x8 X Series (formerly Virtual Office) is used at my company primarily as traffic control to steer clients to the correct area of the services we offer, that best will benefit what they are seeking. It also serves as a buffer from unwanted, time consuming calls from solicitors and automated dialers.
  • The Auto Attendant
  • The ability to have my office follow me wherever I go.
  • Having a virtual fax number for those businesses still using 20th century technology.
  • The learning curve of using the Auto-Attendant.
  • The online manual does not cover some aspects of using all functions.
  • It can be difficult searching for the answer needed to a question using the online resources.
This is a great service for businesses on the go or those which capitalize on virtual interaction with clients. A conventional company, in which a live person needs to answer very specific questions may not be the best option, unless the auto-attendant is primarily used to placing callers into the correct department or queue.

We use 8x8 as our phone service. Without 8x8 we would not be able to function because we need to make calls. 8x8 is actually a terrible service, and I would not recommend this to anybody to be honest. 90% of our issues stem from 8x8's application (8x8 Work). The VCC seems to be okay until it starts to take random options away from you.
  • Good call quality
  • Stable
  • App works
  • Everything
  • Random call drops
  • Lower tiered customer service reps are not helpful
Honestly, I would suggest going with Cisco, or Avaya. Dealing with 8x8 the past 2 years has been stressful to say the least. Our chat system (Microsoft Teams) is constantly filled with issues such as (calls dropped, 8x8 randomly putting me on break, 8x8 accept/reject box doesn't show up) I could really go on for hours. I guess 8x8 could be well suited for smaller companies (10-50), but when working with a larger quantity, you will go through many, many issues.

We used 8x8 across the whole organization. The platform itself wasn't bad, however to companies 8x8 customer service and sales support was absolutely terrible. I can't tell you how many of my calls to them were 2 hours long because the company units couldn't talk to each other. Our company tried to cancel with 8x8 in June of 2020. It took them almost an entire year of calling, and calling back with no follow-up from them to get our account fully canceled. Each time we called it was a "oh you owe us $6,000 because your account just renewed" followed with a fight on our end because we had attempted to cancel already with 0 help or effort on their part. I would never work with this company again.
  • Platform and app work well....until they don't.....then it is a fight.
  • Customer service / sales support / employee training within 8x8.
  • Follow-up.
Terrible customer service, terrible sales support, terrible follow-up. I would tell anyone I met that was thinking about using them to save themselves the hours of pain and just go with Microsoft Teams. 8x8 has been the worst service company I have ever had to deal with. • LOVE the transferring options and listening in on others' calls to learn/training/development.
  • It's super confusing when I'm texting someone and there's no caller ID associated with it and it's too many steps to create contacts for all my prospects and connections.
  • Sometimes it's finicky with hold and transfer options.
It's always well suited. I love it. Some of my coworkers complain at times that it's 'not working' and for me rarely but sometimes the green call button just has a 'spinner' and doesn't allow me to perform outgoing calls but usually resolves quickly.
