I used Sprout to manage all of our agencies social media clients.
  • Dashboard.
  • Support team.
  • Ignored after the contract ended, debited account with fees even after cancellation.
I have been with Sprout for 5 years and have recently decided to cancel due to their poor service, posts failing and high prices. After contract cancellation they continued to debit my account and are now ignoring my emails for a refund. Had to go to my card supplier to dispute the charge.

We currently use Sprout Social to organize, manage and post our social content and respond to messages specifically on Facebook. We also use it to look at social analytics. Our social and customer service department uses Sprout Social the most. We sometimes use the assigned task functionality as well to divide up work.
  • Schedule content
  • Post content at a later date
  • Provide social analytics
  • Create a dashboard for social listening
  • Area to respond to DM directly
  • Wished they connected with TikTok
  • Wished they connected with Youtube
  • Offered a shopify plugin for more visibility to ecomm
  • Offered a GRIN plugin to link to Influencer tools
Sprout social is useful for brands that are trying to streamline their processes and have a small headcount. It allows you to schedule content in advance, get analytics about your social accounts, and makes it easier to respond to consumers on the platforms they integrate with.

We have four staff involved in ten company social media accounts and Sprout makes it easy for us to draft, review, and schedule posts all in one place. We love the integrations with other apps we use that make it so easy to do our jobs well. We also love the additional learning opportunities Sprout Social provides at no extra cost. I recommend Sprout to everyone in similar positions at companies of any size. I also especially love all of the reporting features. Over the past year, we've learned more about our audiences and have grown them along with engagement rates exponentially across all of our channels. I'm not aware of any other product that compares to Sprout and don't believe we would be seeing the success we have without using it.
  • Content draft, review, and scheduling process
  • Useful app integrations
  • Easy-to-use and insightful reports
  • Publishing to stories isn't the easiest
  • More report customization would be nice
It's a really great all-in-one package for teams and organizations of any size.

Sprout Social is our main program for social media management and analytics. By allowing us to house all of our content distribution in one application it saves us time across the board when it comes to social media scheduling and analytics. It also allows for us to engage on each platform with potential and current audiences for each of our clients.
  • Social Media Scheduling
  • Social media analytics
  • Social media listening
  • Instagram posting (multiple images)
  • Instagram and Facebook Stories
  • Adding TikTok
Are you on all of the major social media platforms? Sprout Social is your scheduling tool. It makes cross-platform posting simple. They give you peak times and character counts and now that they’re integrated with Canva, you hardly have to leave the application. The analytics can be as simple or as robust as you choose.

In a previous marketing role, I had the privilege of using Sprout Social. The only reason we don't use it at my new company is that there are not enough accounts I can add without it being too over budget, and we plan to manage over +20 accounts in the future. Our main use cases were for scheduling posts, returning analytics, building reports, and social listening. It was used only in our Marketing department, however, the nice reports were sent out to other departments for review.
  • Post scheduling. I loved scheduling posts in Sprout Social and the recommended post times were great.
  • Reporting. I loved the customizable reports of Sprout Social and the visual way it shows data.
  • Social listening. The ability to aggregate conversations across major platforms was helpful to see what was trending each day.
  • The price tiers were pretty high for a smaller company. I would love to see the capability to add more channels for a less steep price.
  • Paying per user was also pretty expensive. It would be nice if you could add more users for free, or if the lower tiers included more users to start. Obviously, a small department could share passwords but it would be nice for collaboration if you could have a couple more for less.
Sprout Social is great as an all-in-one post scheduler, reporting system, and listening tool -- if that is what you're looking for. The price tiers feel more suited for a larger company though compared to others on the market who offer similar products at a lower price. Sprout Social's usability is great and the look and feel of the platform were enjoyable to be in every day, compared to other platforms we tried, if that matters to you. Since working in smaller to midsize companies, I have also had a hard time justifying why social listening is important, especially since it is often pitched as a way to see what others are saying about your brand. As a small company, not many convos were happening as compared to a huge name brand. However, it was a great tool to see what people were saying about a general industry or product. Overall, I would recommend Sprout with these notes. I loved using it but it wasn't the right fit this time around for the reasons above, including we needed a product that could scale as our company grows without being too expensive. One of my favorite things about Sprout Social, though, is the customer service. Every interaction I had from beginning to end was pleasant and helpful!

I love Sprout! I used it at a past job and loved it so much that I have recommended it to everyone I know in the industry. As soon as we brought in enough clients at the company I founded, our first business expense was starting to work with Sprout. Is going to provide so much to our clients and make both my life and the life of my employees so much easier. I can't wait to continue using this software!
  • Suggested posting times
  • Tracking capabilities
  • Easy to understand graphs and analytics
  • Their onboarding process
Great for any company managing 10 or more social accounts that wants to take their work to the next level. You clients will thank you for this!

We use Sprout Social for social media monitoring, listening, reporting and posting. We use it across the organization. We like it because it's easy and we have all the tools we need in one place. They keep enhancing features without nickel and diming you for every item they add on.
  • Ease of use
  • Ability to duplicate, edit and repost content.
  • The design tools that easily allow you to crop photos according to the sizes for each social channel in a click of the button.
  • New added features in photos to help with SEO - alt text, descriptions, etc.
  • Like the new tagging and campaigns
  • Listening tools are easy to use.
  • More integrations
  • ability to monitor more than one competitor
  • Better audience demographics
Sprout [Social] is great for small businesses, small agencies and those who need a platform but don't want to spend a fortune. If you need multiple user log-in's, the cost will add up. This is great to share a log-in for different people to use or add one or two users.

We currently use Sprout Social for drafting and publishing content, community monitoring, community engagement, reporting and social listening on behalf of our clients.
  • Sprout is one of the easiest social tools to use on the market without sacrificing capabilities and analytics.
  • Sprout's reporting capabilities require little to no customization for most reporting needs.
  • It's also handy if you need to export social calendars to non-Sprout users in a format that's visually pleasing and easy to understand.
  • I'd love to see more robust tag reporting capabilities, but they mentioned that this is something in the pipeline for improvement.
  • I wish it was easier to batch content and shift it to approval or draft mode. Sometimes clients can change their mind and moving through each post individually can be a bit time consuming. This is a very minor thing.
  • I'd love to see more customization options come to its reporting feature so we can insert graphics. Currently it supports the insertion of text only.
Sprout is great for people that need a social tool that is robust and easy to use. It checks all the major boxes at a lower price than some of the larger providers on the market, which I have worked with in previous roles.

If you need heavy automation/rule building, it may not be the best tool for you since these capabilities are limited. For most businesses' Sprout's capabilities should suit just fine.

If you're not a fan of boolean-based social listening, Sprout builds off of keyword queries, which will save you time and possibly your sanity. The trade-off is that you may have to do a bit more tweaking without that conditional language. Also, their social listening doesn't cap off at a certain amount of mentions per month for its cost.

The Sprout team is one of the easiest groups of individuals I've had the pleasure of working with during my 7+ years in the social biz. They're always eager to help and produce informative publications that serve their community well.

We use Sprout Social to manage and curate social media posts for multiple clients. Sprout makes it easy for my marketing team to schedule posts for each of our clients on multiple social platforms, preview them, make changes, add other media, etc. Sprout also gives my team an overview of how well their posts are performing with regards to demographics, engagement, shares, impressions, etc. Using Sprout makes my team more efficient and productive.
  • Let's you schedule posts across multiple platforms
  • Provides a quick snapshot of the social engagement for your clients
  • Allows my team to work more efficiently and manage social media for multiple accounts at once
  • Sprout hasn't quite figured out how to let you schedule posts to Instagram
Sprout is an efficient way to manage social media accounts for multiple clients at one time. Having all of your social platforms connected in one seamless software system and being able to schedule out posts in advance makes it easier for my team to juggle multiple client's social media content calendars.

We use Sprout Social to manage all of our social media accounts, track data, and collaborate about creative assets. We also offer it to clients to post content, follow through on strategy, and review analytics. This platform has enabled us to make our campaigns even more profitable. We'll never go back!
  • Helps us understand our audience
  • All-in-one management platform
  • Allows us to welcome clients to improve their social channels
  • Posts aren't always approved because of glitches
  • Number of users is limited depending on the paid plan
  • User interface takes some time to learn/understand
Sprout Social has enabled our team to reimagine how we manage our social media accounts and listen to our audiences. Our ability to organize, schedule, and review our content has taken our accounts to the next level. The user interface is not intuitive initially, but once you spend the time to understand it, it'll become second nature.

We are using Sprout Social across the whole organization for all our clients. It helps us schedule our clients' social media content, monitor their social feeds, as well as create reports.
  • Reporting - I love how easy it is to generate a weekly, monthly, or quarterly report for the social media channels we mainly use (LinkedIn, Facebook, and Twitter).
  • I very much like the tagging feature in Sprout. Tagging each piece of content we schedule helps us monitor the volume and type of posts we share with our clients.
  • Saving evergreen content in the Assets Library has been a game-changer for us. Now, it's so easy to reuse and reshare content directly from the Assets Library into the calendar.
  • I'd like to be able to add thumbnail images to the videos uploaded via Sprout.
  • When scheduling the same post at the same time on multiple channels (LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter), I would like to have the option to edit them individually without modifying the posts for the other channels.
If your organization is managing the social channels for multiple clients, Sprout Social is the best platform on the market right now. However, if you're a small shop, it can be expensive.

Sprout Social is a definite time saver for any company that’s heavily invested in its social media presence, especially marketing firms that manage numerous accounts. It allows users to post across multiple social platforms and also view detailed analytics. Analytics also help users to determine what social strategies are effective and adjust accordingly.
  • Schedule posts across multiple social media accounts and platforms.
  • View detailed analytics.
  • Certain social channels scale back exposure on social posts stemming from third-party platforms. This needs to be resolved to maximize effectiveness.
  • Mobile app lacks the full functionality of browser version.
Sprout Social is ideally suited for organizations posting in high volumes and across multiple social media outlets. Sprout Social allows users to post entirely from within one platform and schedule posts in advance, thereby saving significant time. For organizations only making occasional posts in one or two social channels, they may be better off posting directly within those social channels. It’s cost effective and, depending upon the outlet, allows for higher engagement.

I use Sprout Social to run an overall view of my clients brand to help them understand who is following them online, and how to best reach their audience through social media and content marketing strategies.
  • Easy to set-up.
  • Great benchmarking.
  • Good looking charts and reporting for presentations.
  • During a trial, there was a lot of automated outreach from the sales rep.
  • Hashtag analysis isn't great.

Our team used Sprout Social for more than 2 years to publish on pages and profiles, schedule content, monitor, and report effectiveness on social media.
  • Visual reporting. Providing graphs and charts of data.
  • Publishing to some platforms (still working on development).
  • This is not a great platform for teams. Their basic $99 plan includes a single user, and charges quite a bit to add more.
  • This is not a great platform for agencies that have more than 5 accounts or less than 100 without paying a hefty price tag. Their deluxe plan is $149 for only 10 accounts. My team has access to more than 30 pages, and we'd have to disconnect a profile, then connect a new one, wait for it to load, and then produce a new report for our clients. It was too cumbersome to be effective.
  • Value overall. Other competitors are offering more users and the same amount of pages for less money.
  • Technical support. Our team spent about $2,500 with this company across 2 years - we published our final reports, made a single request for support with 3 different team members, and it was denied four times.
Sprout Social is suited for teams that want to publish, monitor, and track social media that have few social accounts (but like data) or for large teams that don't have a lot of cross-platform usage needs (ex: You only do social media management as a service and don't pay for automation, social media marketing software, billing software, etc.)

I've used SproutSocial for a couple of clients. One client selected it (even though I was interested in using a different solution) because it allowed the client to approve each post before it was added to the queue. Another client had already implemented it. They didn't seem entirely happy with it but were in a contract.
  • You can share posts across social media channels. So you can take one post, select FB, LI, and Twitter for example, and then customize it for each. Pretty easy to do that.
  • You can choose if you want someone to "approve" the post before it goes into the queue. If someone has that power, it makes it easy for them to have control over what's posted.
  • You can repeat posts that performed well. To see how posts did, you can pull a report. Then you can choose to re-use that post. You can customize it or just set it up to go again.
  • I struggled even after lengthy conversations with the support team to use the images that were posted with a client's blog posts. That was a major issue. It took a lot of extra time to select images to go with the posts. Never solved that issue.
  • They have a queue—can't remember what it's called—that you're supposed to be able to load with posts that you want to repeat at various times each month. This was difficult to use. Again, in spite of asking for support's help, we couldn't figure out how to use it effectively.
  • It does a lot, maybe TOO much. It's a little overwhelming. They probably need to do more training to help you understand how to utilize all the features. It's too complicated and may be overkill for many.
Perhaps it's better suited for larger teams? Most of the clients I work with are smaller. I feel it's overkill for them.

We used Sprout Social to begin experimenting with social media management tools as we scaled our voice on multiple social platforms. It was utilized by the market department (a small one - usage was mainly by 2 users, max). Usually in tandem, as we explored the product. It allowed us to get ahead of ourselves in terms of planning and scheduling so we were able to develop a social plan in real-time, as we explored a tool that is meant to allow us to do just that. As a small team, we were short on hands, literally, and ideas, so having the ability to schedule across platforms, as well as utilize hashtag trend tools to generate ideas was very helpful.
  • Quick ramp up (very user-friendly)
  • Powerful reporting and trend identification tools
  • Location-based hashtag searches
  • Brand monitoring
  • The cost was too high for us - I couldn't sell it to the CEO to build into our marketing budget
  • Missing Pinterest and YouTube integration at the time, so this limited us in terms of visually sharing different forms of media across all of our social channels
  • No LinkedIn Group publishing ability - this was big for us as we had at least two active LI Groups at the time that we wanted to nurture and grow.
  • Dashboard didn't show everything all in one place, and I liked that about Hootsuite's social media management tool. Having the ability to see our entire digital, social footprint in one place was helpful to us at our early stage.
Great for small to medium-sized teams with a reasonable enough budget to fund the investment in SS. Best for brands looking for a strong Twitter presence, ideally, a social presence focused more on interesting text-based content, as opposed to brands with more visual and varied forms of media.

Sprout Social was an amazing agency partner for us as we grew over the past five years. It allowed us to navigate multiple channels and multiple client accounts with ease. The overall ease of use and UX was great and most features worked flawlessly. As an agency, you are tasked with managing a lot of moving parts for client campaigns and having reporting, publishing, engagement, and tasks consolidated to a single view was very helpful in our agency workflow and processes.
  • Scheduling content
  • Research and overall visibility of a social community across channels
  • Reporting
  • Engagement
  • Instagram
  • Live and story-based content
  • Additional social channels
If you are an agency or run a large social team, Sprout Social is perfect. For a single man shop, it is too robust and expensive to turn an ROI unless you are a social media die-hard. I would also recommend this to any organization that is working with an agency to run social. You can keep your hand on the pulse, assign tasks and keep the entire engagement in an easy to manage interface.

We are a digital marketing agency, so most of us in the organization use the software with the exception of the web programmers and graphic designers. We use Sprout Social for social media management. It helps us keep track of our client's social media accounts and gather analytics and reports for our clients. The reporting is phenomenal and it makes it easy for my team and I to show the client the results.
  • Reporting made easy - Fast and easy reports and analytics. It makes our life simpler because it helps us show our clients the reports, especially the clients who don't understand social media or how it works. We enjoy using Spout Social for scheduling as well as analytics reports.
  • Social media management/Scheduling - My team and I love how simple it is to manage our client's social media account. We really appreciate that we are able to schedule posts for multiple accounts from one single interface, even if we want them to say the same thing. Scheduling social media posts makes our life much easier.
  • Great tools - The platform is user friendly and easy to understand. We've learned that Spout Social offers tools we didn't even know we needed or existed.
  • The interface is user friendly once you get used to it. But in the beginning, it may be a bit confusing to use. I had some issues at first but then I was able to use it faster and more efficiently.
  • There is a lot going on in the platform, it's very busy, and sometimes I forget about all the tools available. Sometimes the amount of tools can be a bit overwhelming. Especially for someone who is just starting to use the platform.
  • The cost can be a bit pricey, especially for a new agency or small business.
Sprout Social is a very useful tool for social media management. It has made my life easier because now I'm able to schedule posts and generate analytics and reporting for my clients. The only issue is the navigation of the interface, and how overwhelming the platform can become. Other than that, I could recommend it to anyone who handles many social media accounts.

The organization I previously worked for used Sprout Social to do a variety of things. The social tool was used to schedule and manage social posting. We used the social listening tool it has, and the analytic reports Sprout Social allows you to export as PDF files. All of this was done to help manage our clients' social media accounts, and help track their social progress.
  • Sprout Social has an easy to use interface that allows non-tech savvy people to easily maneuver their way around the tool.
  • Sprout Social allows team collaboration, task management, and progress tracking for your social teams.
  • Sprout Social combines social listening, engagement, and management all into one platform.
  • For the features and functionality Sprout Social offers, the platform is a bit pricey.
  • While Sprout Social tries act as a one-stop shop social media management tool, it doesn't excel in two of its key features: social listening and social analytics.
  • Sprout Social is a great tool is you're not tech savvy or social savvy. It's easier for you to manage, but that's about it. Creating the value is up to you.

  • Very easy to reply to mentions and view who retweeted your content
  • Can't export scheduled posts from calendar view into excel
  • Wish there was an export to view all your Twitter followers
I would absolutely recommend this dashboard to anyone in my network. I already have mentioned it to several of my friends and they all want it! I can't tell you how many times people stop and ask me how I was able to gain over 20,000 followers on Twitter (in 2 years) and tweet on average 400 tweets per month generate over 600 engagements. There is no way I would have been able to achieve this kind of success without Sprout Social.

Sprout Social is solely used by our Marketing Department, and we only have one primary user at the moment. It helps us stay on top of our social engagement, while remaining efficient.
  • Ability to monitor incoming messages from Twitter
  • Ability to schedule tweets efficiently
  • Easy access to detailed reports on our social engagement
  • It would help if Sprout integrated with more 3rd parties
  • Sprout seems a bit limited in what it can do with LinkedIn
Does it integrate with all social platforms?

  • I love the UI and UX design of Sprout. It is so easy to use and visually pleasing.
  • Sprout creates visually pleasing reports that wow my executive team.
  • Also, all the data is available via CSV files, so I can upload it to Anametrix via the Anametrix Excel Plugin. This is great because even though sprout does not have a connector to Anametrix, it does not prevent me from accessing the power of Anametrix web analytics
  • There is no much I dislike about sprout, but there are a few things that would make it better. Instagram and Pinterest connectors would be a great addition.
  • I would love to see the addition of a connector to a Linkedin company page.
  • Overall the Analytics could be more comprehensive and include connector to the ad networks from Facebook, Twitter, Adwords, and Linkedin.
I would make sure to know exactly how many people and how many networks will be using Sprout. It is easy to upgrade after, but knowing this will help you decide what package is right for you.

  • Great for managing and scheduling social media tasks
  • Makes it easy to research and evaluate competition
  • Dynamic search functions within twitter allow you to reach your target audience better than any other program on the market.
  • Easy to use, but if you ever get stuck there are helpful customer service reps to help clarify and optimize whatever task you are attempting.
  • Honestly, I was able to perform all the functions I needed with Sprout Social. I worked better than any program I've used in the past, so I can't think of any room for improvement at this time.
I think as soon as you sign up, poke around the program on your own, then hop on the phone for one of their training sessions. They will cover everything you need to know in an easy to understand and straight forward way.

  • I love how easy this tool is to use, it has really taken our social media efforts to the next level.
  • The Publisher feature is helpful in posting simultaneously to LinkedIn and Twitter.
  • The Reporting feature has be completely essential in tracking efforts in social media with gorgeous graphs and fantastic metric information. I would recommend Sprout to EVERYONE!
  • I haven't gotten in the habit of using tools other than the Reports and Publisher. Perhaps it's the feed that we have, but the other tools haven't been as useful.
I've recommended this product to all colleagues involved in social media as an invaluable resource for tracking what we are doing that is successful and less so. I love its ease of use!

  • Sprout Social was maybe like the second platform to come along to streamline social media management, but I love the ease of navigation within the SS platform, & it provides far better [& detailed] analytics.
  • Ease of social engagement is the easiest, I think, of all of the social media cross-platform management systems.
  • SS is more sleek & appealing, aesthetically.
  • Appreciate the flexibility of choosing which data is relevant in managing analytic reporting.
  • Maybe this is a FB issue, but I sure would appreciate being allowed to manage my FB Business page directly from SS. [Always get that obnoxious "you are currently posting as (business page login) & you must post as (personal log-in) to continue" message.] Can only access my personal FB pg which is a direct portal to my business page, which leaves my FB business posting at manual status currently.
Definitely contact a vendor, as SS has excellent customer service & reps who are very patient & helpful.
