- Social media listening
- Instagram posting (multiple images)
- Instagram and Facebook Stories
- Adding TikTok
- Post scheduling. I loved scheduling posts in Sprout Social and the recommended post times were great.
- Reporting. I loved the customizable reports of Sprout Social and the visual way it shows data.
- Social listening. The ability to aggregate conversations across major platforms was helpful to see what was trending each day.
- The price tiers were pretty high for a smaller company. I would love to see the capability to add more channels for a less steep price.
- Paying per user was also pretty expensive. It would be nice if you could add more users for free, or if the lower tiers included more users to start. Obviously, a small department could share passwords but it would be nice for collaboration if you could have a couple more for less.

Sprout Social Soars
- Sprout is one of the easiest social tools to use on the market without sacrificing capabilities and analytics.
- Sprout's reporting capabilities require little to no customization for most reporting needs.
- It's also handy if you need to export social calendars to non-Sprout users in a format that's visually pleasing and easy to understand.
- I'd love to see more robust tag reporting capabilities, but they mentioned that this is something in the pipeline for improvement.
- I wish it was easier to batch content and shift it to approval or draft mode. Sometimes clients can change their mind and moving through each post individually can be a bit time consuming. This is a very minor thing.
- I'd love to see more customization options come to its reporting feature so we can insert graphics. Currently it supports the insertion of text only.
If you need heavy automation/rule building, it may not be the best tool for you since these capabilities are limited. For most businesses' Sprout's capabilities should suit just fine.
If you're not a fan of boolean-based social listening, Sprout builds off of keyword queries, which will save you time and possibly your sanity. The trade-off is that you may have to do a bit more tweaking without that conditional language. Also, their social listening doesn't cap off at a certain amount of mentions per month for its cost.
The Sprout team is one of the easiest groups of individuals I've had the pleasure of working with during my 7+ years in the social biz. They're always eager to help and produce informative publications that serve their community well.
Use Sprout Social for Your Team's Efficiency
- Let's you schedule posts across multiple platforms
- Provides a quick snapshot of the social engagement for your clients
- Allows my team to work more efficiently and manage social media for multiple accounts at once
- Sprout hasn't quite figured out how to let you schedule posts to Instagram
- Helps us understand our audience
- All-in-one management platform
- Allows us to welcome clients to improve their social channels
- Posts aren't always approved because of glitches
- Number of users is limited depending on the paid plan
- User interface takes some time to learn/understand
- Reporting - I love how easy it is to generate a weekly, monthly, or quarterly report for the social media channels we mainly use (LinkedIn, Facebook, and Twitter).
- I very much like the tagging feature in Sprout. Tagging each piece of content we schedule helps us monitor the volume and type of posts we share with our clients.
- Saving evergreen content in the Assets Library has been a game-changer for us. Now, it's so easy to reuse and reshare content directly from the Assets Library into the calendar.
- I'd like to be able to add thumbnail images to the videos uploaded via Sprout.
- When scheduling the same post at the same time on multiple channels (LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter), I would like to have the option to edit them individually without modifying the posts for the other channels.
Turn your sprout of a social media account into a massive oak
- Schedule posts across multiple social media accounts and platforms.
- View detailed analytics.
- Certain social channels scale back exposure on social posts stemming from third-party platforms. This needs to be resolved to maximize effectiveness.
- Mobile app lacks the full functionality of browser version.
Excellent tool for social media listening
- Easy to set-up.
- Great benchmarking.
- Good looking charts and reporting for presentations.
- During a trial, there was a lot of automated outreach from the sales rep.
- Hashtag analysis isn't great.
Sprout Social: Trending in the wrong direction.
- Visual reporting. Providing graphs and charts of data.
- Publishing to some platforms (still working on development).
- This is not a great platform for teams. Their basic $99 plan includes a single user, and charges quite a bit to add more.
- This is not a great platform for agencies that have more than 5 accounts or less than 100 without paying a hefty price tag. Their deluxe plan is $149 for only 10 accounts. My team has access to more than 30 pages, and we'd have to disconnect a profile, then connect a new one, wait for it to load, and then produce a new report for our clients. It was too cumbersome to be effective.
- Value overall. Other competitors are offering more users and the same amount of pages for less money.
- Technical support. Our team spent about $2,500 with this company across 2 years - we published our final reports, made a single request for support with 3 different team members, and it was denied four times.
- You can share posts across social media channels. So you can take one post, select FB, LI, and Twitter for example, and then customize it for each. Pretty easy to do that.
- You can choose if you want someone to "approve" the post before it goes into the queue. If someone has that power, it makes it easy for them to have control over what's posted.
- You can repeat posts that performed well. To see how posts did, you can pull a report. Then you can choose to re-use that post. You can customize it or just set it up to go again.
- I struggled even after lengthy conversations with the support team to use the images that were posted with a client's blog posts. That was a major issue. It took a lot of extra time to select images to go with the posts. Never solved that issue.
- They have a queue—can't remember what it's called—that you're supposed to be able to load with posts that you want to repeat at various times each month. This was difficult to use. Again, in spite of asking for support's help, we couldn't figure out how to use it effectively.
- It does a lot, maybe TOO much. It's a little overwhelming. They probably need to do more training to help you understand how to utilize all the features. It's too complicated and may be overkill for many.
Sprout New Ideas + Strategies with Sprout Social
- Quick ramp up (very user-friendly)
- Powerful reporting and trend identification tools
- Location-based hashtag searches
- Brand monitoring
- The cost was too high for us - I couldn't sell it to the CEO to build into our marketing budget
- Missing Pinterest and YouTube integration at the time, so this limited us in terms of visually sharing different forms of media across all of our social channels
- No LinkedIn Group publishing ability - this was big for us as we had at least two active LI Groups at the time that we wanted to nurture and grow.
- Dashboard didn't show everything all in one place, and I liked that about Hootsuite's social media management tool. Having the ability to see our entire digital, social footprint in one place was helpful to us at our early stage.

- Social media management/Scheduling - My team and I love how simple it is to manage our client's social media account. We really appreciate that we are able to schedule posts for multiple accounts from one single interface, even if we want them to say the same thing. Scheduling social media posts makes our life much easier.
- Great tools - The platform is user friendly and easy to understand. We've learned that Spout Social offers tools we didn't even know we needed or existed.
- The interface is user friendly once you get used to it. But in the beginning, it may be a bit confusing to use. I had some issues at first but then I was able to use it faster and more efficiently.
- There is a lot going on in the platform, it's very busy, and sometimes I forget about all the tools available. Sometimes the amount of tools can be a bit overwhelming. Especially for someone who is just starting to use the platform.
- The cost can be a bit pricey, especially for a new agency or small business.

Sprout Social Review
- I love the UI and UX design of Sprout. It is so easy to use and visually pleasing.
- Sprout creates visually pleasing reports that wow my executive team.
- Also, all the data is available via CSV files, so I can upload it to Anametrix via the Anametrix Excel Plugin. This is great because even though sprout does not have a connector to Anametrix, it does not prevent me from accessing the power of Anametrix web analytics
- There is no much I dislike about sprout, but there are a few things that would make it better. Instagram and Pinterest connectors would be a great addition.
- I would love to see the addition of a connector to a Linkedin company page.
- Overall the Analytics could be more comprehensive and include connector to the ad networks from Facebook, Twitter, Adwords, and Linkedin.

- Makes it easy to research and evaluate competition
- Dynamic search functions within twitter allow you to reach your target audience better than any other program on the market.
- Easy to use, but if you ever get stuck there are helpful customer service reps to help clarify and optimize whatever task you are attempting.

- The Reporting feature has be completely essential in tracking efforts in social media with gorgeous graphs and fantastic metric information. I would recommend Sprout to EVERYONE!

Sleek, easy to use, provides premium data
- Sprout Social was maybe like the second platform to come along to streamline social media management, but I love the ease of navigation within the SS platform, & it provides far better [& detailed] analytics.
- Ease of social engagement is the easiest, I think, of all of the social media cross-platform management systems.
- SS is more sleek & appealing, aesthetically.
- Appreciate the flexibility of choosing which data is relevant in managing analytic reporting.
- Maybe this is a FB issue, but I sure would appreciate being allowed to manage my FB Business page directly from SS. [Always get that obnoxious "you are currently posting as (business page login) & you must post as (personal log-in) to continue" message.] Can only access my personal FB pg which is a direct portal to my business page, which leaves my FB business posting at manual status currently.
