There is no shortage of HR Management software solutions, and figuring out which one meets your business needs best can be a difficult task. HR professionals on TrustRadius use reviews written by software end-users and product comparisons to help them make better-informed purchasing decisions.
In the past quarter more than 39,800 professionals used TrustRadius to evaluate Human Resource (HR) Management products—at least 5,579 of them were from enterprise companies with more than 1,000 employees. Visitors evaluating HR Management products were most curious about reading product reviews and comparing different products —59% read reviews and 31% compared at least two products.

From Ultimate Software, recently acquired by private equity firm Hellman & Friedman, UltiPro is an HCM Suite that offers companies a comprehensive human resource management solution. It includes traditional HR modules such as payroll administration, benefits administration, local and global compliance, employee record keeping, and employee analytics. It also includes strategic HR functions such as talent management, learning management, employee engagement surveys, and workforce management. A majority of UltiPro users (51%) on TrustRadius are from enterprises. Reviewers highlight UltiPro’s user-friendly UI, ability to generate customized reports, and easy-to-use employee self-service.

BambooHR is an HR Management solution ideal for small and medium businesses. It offers a month-to-month pricing plan and includes human resources management, hiring and onboarding, and employee service modules. Some of the features incorporated in these modules are employee records, benefits tracking, document storage, time-off management, an employee directory and organization chart, mobile app, ATS, onboarding & offboarding, and training tracking. BambooHR also offers performance management and time tracking module add-ons. A large majority (70%) of BambooHR users on TrustRadius are from midsize businesses. Reviewers value BambooHR’s hiring & ATS module and the way the system calculates and communicates time-off requests.

Workday Human Capital Management (HCM) is a comprehensive HR suite focused on serving medium to enterprise size companies. It includes standard human resource management capabilities (e.g. payroll processing, benefits administration, workforce analytics, employee tracking) and strategic HR modules such as talent management, recruiting & ATS, and workforce management. The majority (63%) of Workday HCM users on TrustRadius are from enterprises. Reviewers comment that the leave & attendance management module and employee self-service capabilities are two of Workday’s strengths.

Namely is an HR, payroll, and benefits administration platform ideal for midsize businesses. It includes traditional human resource modules such as payroll processing, benefits administration, and HR management. Some of the features encompassed in these modules are an employee database, organization charts, workflow management, and a mobile app. Namely also provides users with talent management and time & attendance modules. A large majority (81%) of Namely users on TrustRadius are from midsize businesses. Reviewers highlight that Namely has an easy to navigate user interface and robust onboarding features.

The platform includes HR management, payroll, benefits, talent management, and workforce management modules. Ceridian Dayforce offers a particularly robust talent management solution that incorporates recruiting, onboarding, learning & performance management, and compensation and succession planning capabilities. Almost half (48%) of Ceridian Dayforce users on TrustRadius are from enterprises. Reviewers note that Ceridian Dayforce has a strong customer support team and an intuitive and easy to use UI.

TriNet provides businesses with a centralized way to manage their core HR functions, and enables employees to access and update their information from multiple devices. The majority (71%) of TriNet users on TrustRadius are from small businesses. Reviewers value TriNet’s simple onboarding process and appreciate the wide variety of benefits options available for smaller organizations.

What is HR Management Software?
Human Resource (HR) Management software provides users with the tools needed to conduct traditional back-end HR functions such as payroll, benefits administration, employee tracking and record keeping, workflow transfers, and employee self-service. These products may also be called ‘Core HR’ or ‘Human Resource Information Systems’ (HRIS). More recently, vendors have started attaching additional ‘strategic’ HR modules to their solutions and referring to them as Human Capital Management (HCM) suites. Talent Management, also still a software category in its own right, is one of the recent additions to many HR Management solutions. It typically includes talent acquisition and retention, recruiting & ATS, onboarding, learning management, employee engagement tools (e.g. surveys), succession planning, and performance management capabilities. Workforce Management is another ‘strategic’ HR module that many vendors have integrated into their HCM suite offerings. It generally includes workforce tracking and analytics, time tracking & attendance, and leave management capabilities.
