Orders come into Brightpearl from Shopify and we ship the orders through ShipStation. It addresses business problems such as allocating inventory to orders, prioritizing orders, organizing dealer orders, making changes to orders and invoicing orders. We currently have three people using Brightpearl: myself for order processing, our accountant for accounting purposes, and our shipping manager.,Brightpearl makes it easy to manage orders. Brightpearl makes it easy to make changes to orders. Brightpearl makes it easy to manage inventory.,It's not possible to email more than 25 customers at once. Accounting Shipping,We have bundles were some products are pre-order products and will ship separately at a later date. It brings together all of our sales channels - multiple e-channels and traditional sales channels. We used to use a number of different systems for CRM, sales, stock control, and financial records. Pulls together lots of business functions allowing all functions to operate the same system. Accessibility from anywhere.,More customisation of dashboards and producing graphs, KPIs and reports. Finance department struggles with some aspects as it is not sometimes obvious how to do things. Easier to match up payments.,XeroBrightpearl - reasonably bright but could shine just a little more brightlyWe use Brightpearl as a CRM and a financial system combined. This addresses the problem of having two separate systems that can have problems in linking with each other. The good thing is that it's cloud based so our sales people find it easier to access when out and about to place orders, rather than try and connect through our server for access. The whole company uses Brightpearl.,It is easy to find a contact, product or anything you need without knowing the full details or sku code. It is easy to access for anyone off site. It is easy to see immediately if an order cannot be fulfilled in full.,The poor area is that it is not easy to see immediately which products need to be ordered if you wish to keep say 6 weeks of stock in at any time, and therefore this means from time to time we can run out of an item. This area is a real problem for us. Ideally you should be able to create a file that you can pull off easily showing the last 6 weeks sales and then what is required to cover the next 6 weeks. I don't like the fact that under a company, you can have several contacts, one is the primary (so far fine) but if an order is placed by one of the contacts and the order is not put through the primary contact then it will not automatically refer the sale / account number etc., to the primary contact. There is nothing that you can send with an order as a note to the warehouse with specific instructions about an order, - especially with retail customers who may have certain delivery instructions - ideally a note that is seen by the warehouse only would help. If you were to create an order, but it is not shipped immediately, it creates a payment due date against the order date and not against the invoice date so every order has to be checked and changed manually - this is ridiculous.,5,6,10,I cannot see that we have been able to increase turnover or lead conversion as we had good systems beforehand in this respect. I have managed to gain a lot of extra time with implementing consumer orders as Amazon and our own Website is directly linked to Brightpearl. It is easier and quicker for the sales team to input their orders.,Brightpearl - Our new hopeBrightpearl is used across our whole company from sales to inventory management to client management. It allows us to effectively track our inventory from both the front/sales end and the warehouse/back end. It has also been instrumental in tackling our main issue with managing client data and using if for targeted marketing.,We can very easily see inventory levels and therefore manage our client expectations. We love how you can see overviews from both the client perspective and a project perspective. It also is great how Brightpearl links different individual clients from the same organization.,Missing functionality - only two ccs when sending email estimates or receipts. We are in the construction industry and in most cases more thatn 2 people need to be in the loop on projects. Missing functionality - ability to subtotal in a sales order and have a line item discount. We need to be able to show our clients the true value of our products (subtotal) and then explicitly show them the discount that is being extended to them. Having the discount buried in the individual line item gives a false sense of the value of the item. We should have the ability to number the line items. Some of our orders have 40-50 line items. When we are making revisions with the client, it is MUCH easier to reference a line item rather than a product. No option for being able to show revision numbers for the estimates - many estimates will be revised 4-6 times and we need to be clear that all parties are working from the most recent revision.,8,5,5,Better tracking of individual clients' business and understanding of their needs. Better able to track and access client groups for marketing purposes. Inventory management - front end users are much more able to immediately assess inventory.,FishbowlReally enjoyed working with BrightpearlI did an internship for the company Goldie London (part of my educational program). While working at Goldie I used Brightpearl a lot. I really enjoyed working with Brightpearl because it is an easy, understandable program. Working with Brightpearl made my internship so much easier because it was easy to use, faster then other programs I used, and saved my a lot of time. We used Brightpearl for shipping orders so we didn't have to do it ourselves. It is also used to manage wholesale accounts and purchases. Brightpearl is a versatile tool and the core of our cloud ecosystem.,Receiving and managing inventory through multiple warehouses is straightforward. Fulfillment, partial fulfillment, drop shipping, and fulfillment from multiple warehouses adds flexibility to workflow. Invoices generated from sales orders are used for all wholesale accounts, saving time. Notes and tags for accounts enable us to consistently tailor the fulfillment and shipping of orders for each wholesale customer. Integration with Shopify, Shipstation, Brandboom, and a host of other cloud services enables us to fine tune our workflow for online retail, wholesale, fraud prevention, shipping, and customer service. Integration is executed well, especially considering the range of services that can be incorporated.,For larger sales and purchases, various Brightpearl functions become slow or inconsistent. Inventory transfers between warehouses could be simplified, particularly for warehouses that are not physically separate. Occasionally, online orders are not imported from Shopify, or payment is not allocated. If this is not caught in time it can lead to accounting and customer service issues.,8,,8,The overall efficiency of Brightpearl has enabled us to grow in many ways, including the number of accounts, quantity and variety of products available, rate of fulfillment, and accuracy of inventory.,Simple, easy to use effective finance and inventory systemBrightpearl is used across the whole organisation of one of the company's that I am responsible for, which is a telecommunications equipment distributor. Brightpearl addresses the issue of effectively and accurately managing stock levels as well as providing an effective platform to manage customer data.,Brightpearl is particularly good at managing our customer database. It's easy to access relevant data. Brightpearl has a user friendly interface which links well with many popular marketplaces, including Ebay and Amazon. Brightpearl provides quick access to product stock levels and has an intelligent search facility.,Brightpearl lacks aesthetically compared to some other similar software products. Brightpearl doesn't integrate with Ebay particularly well. It is the Point of Sale system for our shops, our accounting system, our stock control system for shops and e-commerce and our customer management and service platform. Its primary value is in managing stock across our shops and our web sites - so that both channels can share access to the same inventory. We will be adding Amazon and Ebay channels in the future and it integrates with them. We already integrate it with Magento which we use as our web platform and with MailChimp which we use to send customer emails. All financial transactions are recorded in Brightpearl and it provides the information we need to manage cash flow. All customer communication is recorded in Brightpearl.,Stock control - managing inventory across multiple channels so that items are not sold more than once. Sales Order flow - dealing with orders from multiple channels. Point of Sale for shop sales and despatch/customer notification process for web orders. Purchase Order Flow - adding purchase orders for future season stock orders. Booking that stock in and seeing at a glance what deliveries are outstanding.,We'd love to be able to create configurable products in Magento straight out of Brightpearl. For example, products that have multiple colour or size options have to be created manually in Magento and then linked to the individual items/skus sent form Brightpearl to Magento. Saving report options. Reports we run regularly have to be configured each time we run them e.g. options selected for the report. Not a major thing but it would save time if those options could be saved. Point of Sale - it would be good if we could continue to use the POS part of Brightpearl if our internet connection goes down. We have no IT department or outsourced IT support contract. Faster stock management & better stock control leading to almost maximum fulfillment. It is linked to our Magento website and to our email. We had intended to also use it for accounting but this proved impractical. We do, however, use it for generating quotes and invoices.,Unfortunately, Brightpearl does nothing well for our organisation. It has been a big disappointment.,Integration with email is poor. For the last two weeks no emails have been saved to Brightpearl due to a fault which they have yet to fix. Also, it used to be possible to see details of our customers (transactions etc.) on the right hand side of our Gmail using a package called Rapportive. However, this stopped working some time ago and Brightpearl don't seem to be bothered to develop an alternative. Also, Brighpearl smart forms (used on our website) do not work with Yahoo.com email addresses. I have complained about all these issues on a number of occasions but they show no interest to fix them. The accounting package is too complicated for laymen like ourselves to use. It may well be OK for experienced accountants. Integration with Magento (which was advocated by Brightpearl) is poor with limited functionality.,1,5,,NoneBrightpearl improved our business processes and efficiencyBrightpearl replaced a set of spreadsheets on the company server, and a part time employee. We have used it for many years to input orders (we call them projects), process those orders - payment, build, shipping, invoicing. About 2 years ago, we started using the full suite of BP's accounting functions, - P&L, balance sheet, aged debtors, and creditors, VAT returns and end of year processing. We are now totally reliant on BP!,Project processing - we hardly had to change our own internal systems when we started using BP. Because I am also an angel investor in many technology startups, I also use Xero, Kashflow, Clearbooks and I find that project processing is handled best by BP. BP has an eCommerce ability which we do not use, so I can't comment on that.,The accounting functionality is not as polished as dedicated packages such as Xero, but then BP does not claim to be. Editing custom forms is a bit clunky.,8,9,10,As I said, we saved probably £2K-£3K per year in employee costs. We handle quotations, RMA returns and customer service outside BP. We do not use BP as an eCommerce shop, hence leads are generated by ourselves.,Why We Love BrightpearlWe use Brightpearl to aggregate our sales from multiple internet channels into a single point and then forward on to a fulfilment company. To achieve this we therefore use Brightpearl to manage our inventory and consequently for all purchases and deliveries of stock. We also use Brightpearl to manage all our accounting functions. Therefore we use it for all business functions.,Real-time inventory updates across multiple internet sales channels is the core of what was required and what it does. Allowing access to the same data to different functions that have different functional requirements. For example the fulfilment company has different requirements to the purchasing function yet must work from the same raw data. Real time accounting is a great comfort when margins are very tight. Support information is very good. Individual queries are handled well. Incidents are visible online in realtime via status pages.,Reporting is limited, too many times I need to download to Excel data though at least I can do that. There may be some add-ons available but they seem very expensive for a small company. The search screen sometimes responds when you press enter and sometime requires you to click on the filter button specifically. All the filter screens should take action when enter is pressed (small point but it is my gripe). Automated processing of Amazon returns would save us a lot of time.,8,8,9,Ability to engage a fulfilment company became feasible. Speed of processing allows later cutoff allowing quicker delivery to customer.It keeps us movingAt 10ofThose, we use Brightpearl to manage all aspects of stock and finances across the whole business. We operate from several warehouses, buy from numerous suppliers, have thousands of products listed and require in depth stock and sales analysis. Brightpearl is used to manage all of these aspects on a daily basis.,Stock management - Brightpearl allows us to keep real time information on stock on hand, and stock allocated to customer orders. Sales analysis - it is easy to review sales across brands and publishers, and to filter as necessary. Customer order tracking - we have been able to set up a bespoke order tracking process so that we can give timely and clear information on demand.,Speed - Brightpearl can be slow at certain times of day, making it difficult (or even impossible) to complete heavy duty tasks like downloading large reports. Inventory transfers - this is a helpful tool but it can be cumbersome to use. We'd love to be able to remove one or two steps. Bank reconciliation - it would be useful to be able to sort these (e.g. by date, source) whilst keeping ticked items selected.,7,6,Customer service - we can track orders and process them rapidly. Team working - Pearl enables us to communicate information about products (e.g. no longer available, low stock, minimum sale prices) as well as customer orders (through the order history and pop up messages). Employee performance - it is fairly easy to keep a track of how employees are doing with sales targets, including sales totals and profit margins.Brightpearl is Best for Inventory ManagementBrightpearl is being used in our entire organization, in the USA as well as in our corporate office in Australia. It serves the purpose of organizing our wholesale and e-commerce contacts, orders and CRM.,Brightpearl is great at inventory management. Being able to allocate stock and see LIVE what is available and what is out of stock is perfect for our business.,Brightpearl's CRM capabilities are extremely poor. There is no way to bulk update calls or activities and they have to be done one-by-one if trying to move tasks around. There is also no way of filtering or searching through your CRM tasks.,6,,10,Increased efficiency, especially in regards to AP. The accounting software is brilliant and has already helped us eliminate costs we used to incur by having our accountant sort on Sage software. The App store is also a great feature and we have used a number of apps to streamline and improve processes not to mention the man hours some of the automated software aspects have made. We have been able to adjust/amend Brightpearl to suit our needs as a business to which has been great and we see it as an instrumental part of the business moving forward. Our last financial year was our best yet and we expect to improve on this again this year with the help of Brightpearl.,All aspects of the business can be run from one software package, not multiple packages/spreadsheets Cloud based so you can log in anywhere in the world if you have the internet! App store allows you to add features that suit and help your business. Some of these have been a real key factor for our business/,Ticket system has been poor so far and a disappointment. A re-launch due for March and we hope that is now going to help us. Emailing from Brightpearl is restricted to one address. So for example - if you sent an email from an employee named Jon to a customer and a separate one to another customer from Tom, both emails would show up in the customers inbox from the same email address. This can lead to confusion for both customer and employees,9,,8,The fact that all details of an order are saved for reference is great. This has helped us deal with any inquiries for orders (say if we have sent the wrong item) . Our last financial year was our best ever (increase of 15% year on year). Brigthpearl was used for 10 months of that. Our projections show that this year will be even better.,I dare you to use Brightpearl as much as me!We used Brightpearl in order to track inventory levels across three selling channels. These three selling channels are Amazon, eBay and our own website. It is used across the whole organization. Brightpearl allows live inventory levels across all channels which limits overselling on our part.,The strength of Brightpearl is the ability to have accurate live inventory levels on selling channels. Brightpearl's integration with Shipstation provides a pretty seamless order to ship process. The ability to distinguish customer sales between retail and wholesale for us is important. We can set pricing accordingly.,I have seen a lot of improvements over the last two years with the functionality of Brightpearl. I think some of their reporting functionality could be improved. I do not like the accounting module of Brightpearl and so I do not use it to product financial reports. I am not sure if it is because the backbone of Brightpearl is UK based. The document templates could be improved. The formatting functionality of the templates is limited.,7,5,8,I do not have any negative impacts. The most positive impact Brightpearl has had on our business is the ability to manage inventory levels. When you are not overselling items, this turns into better customer service since you are not having to contact customers to tell them you don't have inventory which in turns increases employee efficieny. We have a better control over what sells, how many units sell, what we need to reorder and up levels on and what we should stop selling due to no profit.,BEST OF THE BESTBrightpearl is used across the whole organisation. I tried different systems in the past but Brightpearl is easy to use. The software is cloud-based, the system is applicable to businesses looking for access anytime and anywhere. Well suited for buy-in and sell-on operations, especially web based businesses. Not so well suited for manufactueres or service companies. From a stock control perspective, it can only really handle complete finished products that sit on the shelf ready to be shipped. Struggles with buying in parts or materials and then assembling.

We use Brightpearl as a CRM and a financial system combined. This addresses the problem of having two separate systems that can have problems in linking with each other. The good thing is that it's cloud based so our sales people find it easier to access when out and about to place orders, rather than try and connect through our server for access. The whole company uses Brightpearl.
  • It is easy to find a contact, product or anything you need without knowing the full details or sku code.
  • It is easy to access for anyone off site.
  • It is easy to see immediately if an order cannot be fulfilled in full.
  • The poor area is that it is not easy to see immediately which products need to be ordered if you wish to keep say 6 weeks of stock in at any time, and therefore this means from time to time we can run out of an item. This area is a real problem for us. Ideally you should be able to create a file that you can pull off easily showing the last 6 weeks sales and then what is required to cover the next 6 weeks.
  • I don't like the fact that under a company, you can have several contacts, one is the primary (so far fine) but if an order is placed by one of the contacts and the order is not put through the primary contact then it will not automatically refer the sale / account number etc., to the primary contact.
  • There is nothing that you can send with an order as a note to the warehouse with specific instructions about an order, - especially with retail customers who may have certain delivery instructions - ideally a note that is seen by the warehouse only would help.
  • If you were to create an order, but it is not shipped immediately, it creates a payment due date against the order date and not against the invoice date so every order has to be checked and changed manually - this is ridiculous.
I feel it is more aimed at a smaller business with less products. We have three brands and this may grow; one brand has over 400 products.

Brightpearl is used across our whole company from sales to inventory management to client management. It allows us to effectively track our inventory from both the front/sales end and the warehouse/back end. It has also been instrumental in tackling our main issue with managing client data and using if for targeted marketing.
  • We can very easily see inventory levels and therefore manage our client expectations.
  • We love how you can see overviews from both the client perspective and a project perspective.
  • It also is great how Brightpearl links different individual clients from the same organization.
  • Missing functionality - only two ccs when sending email estimates or receipts. We are in the construction industry and in most cases more thatn 2 people need to be in the loop on projects.
  • Missing functionality - ability to subtotal in a sales order and have a line item discount. We need to be able to show our clients the true value of our products (subtotal) and then explicitly show them the discount that is being extended to them. Having the discount buried in the individual line item gives a false sense of the value of the item.
  • We should have the ability to number the line items. Some of our orders have 40-50 line items. When we are making revisions with the client, it is MUCH easier to reference a line item rather than a product.
  • No option for being able to show revision numbers for the estimates - many estimates will be revised 4-6 times and we need to be clear that all parties are working from the most recent revision.
It seems to be less appropriate for use in the construction industry - functionality does not allow for the conventions necessary for this industry.

I did an internship for the company Goldie London (part of my educational program). While working at Goldie I used Brightpearl a lot. I really enjoyed working with Brightpearl because it is an easy, understandable program. Working with Brightpearl made my internship so much easier because it was easy to use, faster then other programs I used, and saved my a lot of time. We used Brightpearl for shipping orders so we didn't have to do it ourselves. Brightpearl sent a notification to our warehouse when we did get a order.

Brightpearl is used by the operations and accounting departments, primarily for inventory management and invoicing. It is also used to manage wholesale accounts and purchases. Brightpearl is a versatile tool and the core of our cloud ecosystem.
  • Receiving and managing inventory through multiple warehouses is straightforward.
  • Fulfillment, partial fulfillment, drop shipping, and fulfillment from multiple warehouses adds flexibility to workflow.
  • Invoices generated from sales orders are used for all wholesale accounts, saving time.
  • Notes and tags for accounts enable us to consistently tailor the fulfillment and shipping of orders for each wholesale customer.
  • Integration with Shopify, Shipstation, Brandboom, and a host of other cloud services enables us to fine tune our workflow for online retail, wholesale, fraud prevention, shipping, and customer service. Integration is executed well, especially considering the range of services that can be incorporated.
  • For larger sales and purchases, various Brightpearl functions become slow or inconsistent.
  • Inventory transfers between warehouses could be simplified, particularly for warehouses that are not physically separate.
  • Occasionally, online orders are not imported from Shopify, or payment is not allocated. If this is not caught in time it can lead to accounting and customer service issues.
In general, Brightpearl is better suited to smaller orders, with workarounds required for larger ones. For example, when importing large wholesale orders it is often necessary to split it into separate orders. For our purposes as a clothing brand, it would be helpful to simplify sales orders, using entries by style with size and color variants.

Brightpearl is used across the whole organisation of one of the company's that I am responsible for, which is a telecommunications equipment distributor. It is a very user friendly system and allows the company to seamlessly convert a sales quote to sales order to sales invoice.

Brightpearl is used to manage stock, raise invoices, raise purchase orders, raise purchase credits, raise customer credits, pay suppliers and is used as a database for customers and suppliers. Brightpearl is used by all members of staff across the organisation. Brightpearl addresses the issue of effectively and accurately managing stock levels as well as providing an effective platform to manage customer data.
  • Brightpearl is particularly good at managing our customer database. It's easy to access relevant data.
  • Brightpearl has a user friendly interface which links well with many popular marketplaces, including Ebay and Amazon.

We Use Brightpearl every day throughout our company I am very impressed with the Brightpearl package. We have been able to add some specific plug ins that suit our needs and brightpearl seems to be a good system from this perspective.

  • Web retail side we have had to use several plug ins to get it to talk to our web sales side

Wholesale side is where my experience lies and its a good system for that. I do not have much experience of it on a retailing level. Cloud based systems like this are the future as I can log in from any machine.

We use Brightpearl across most areas of our business. It is the Point of Sale system for our shops, our accounting system, our stock control system for shops and e-commerce and our customer management and service platform. Its primary value is in managing stock across our shops and our web sites - so that both channels can share access to the same inventory. We will be adding Amazon and Ebay channels in the future and it integrates with them. We already integrate it with Magento which we use as our web platform and with MailChimp which we use to send customer emails. All financial transactions are recorded in Brightpearl and it provides the information we need to manage cash flow. All customer communication is recorded in Brightpearl.
  • Stock control - managing inventory across multiple channels so that items are not sold more than once.
  • Sales Order flow - dealing with orders from multiple channels. Point of Sale for shop sales and despatch/customer notification process for web orders.
  • Purchase Order Flow - adding purchase orders for future season stock orders. Booking that stock in and seeing at a glance what deliveries are outstanding.
  • We'd love to be able to create configurable products in Magento straight out of Brightpearl. For example, products that have multiple colour or size options have to be created manually in Magento and then linked to the individual items/skus sent form Brightpearl to Magento.
  • Saving report options. Reports we run regularly have to be configured each time we run them e.g. options selected for the report. Not a major thing but it would save time if those options could be saved.
  • Point of Sale - it would be good if we could continue to use the POS part of Brightpearl if our internet connection goes down. Fortunately this does not happen too often.
Brightperal is well suited to multi channel retail e.g. web, shops, Ebay Amazon etc. It is well suited to fashion - copes well with brands, colour and size options for product. It is well suited to businesses without high levels of IT expertise. Users without much computer experience can pick it up.

Brightpearl is used as a customer relationship manager. It is linked to our Magento website and to our email. We had intended to also use it for accounting but this proved impractical. We do, however, use it for generating quotes and invoices.
  • Unfortunately, Brightpearl does nothing well for our organisation. It has been a big disappointment.
  • Integration with email is poor. For the last two weeks no emails have been saved to Brightpearl due to a fault which they have yet to fix. Also, it used to be possible to see details of our customers (transactions etc.) on the right hand side of our Gmail using a package called Rapportive. However, this stopped working some time ago and Brightpearl don't seem to be bothered to develop an alternative. Also, Brighpearl smart forms (used on our website) do not work with Yahoo.com email addresses. I have complained about all these issues on a number of occasions but they show no interest to fix them.
  • The accounting package is too complicated for laymen like ourselves to use. It may well be OK for experienced accountants.
  • Integration with Magento (which was advocated by Brightpearl) is poor with limited functionality.
For us it has been a huge disappointment. When we first started to use it it was ok, but they keep making it worse.

Brightpearl replaced a set of spreadsheets on the company server, and a part time employee. We have used it for many years to input orders (we call them projects), process those orders - payment, build, shipping, invoicing. About 2 years ago, we started using the full suite of BP's accounting functions, - P&L, balance sheet, aged debtors, and creditors, VAT returns and end of year processing. We are now totally reliant on BP!
  • Project processing - we hardly had to change our own internal systems when we started using BP.
  • Because I am also an angel investor in many technology startups, I also use Xero, Kashflow, Clearbooks and I find that project processing is handled best by BP.
  • BP has an eCommerce ability which we do not use, so I can't comment on that.
  • The accounting functionality is not as polished as dedicated packages such as Xero, but then BP does not claim to be.
  • Editing custom forms is a bit clunky.
I suspect eCommerce companies will find the most benefit of Brightpearl (BP). Camdata (developing, manufacturing and trading of electronic sub-systems) finds it an essential part of our business, which although small, is reliant on business processes (like anyone else) and BP saved us thousands of pounds per year on implementation.

We use Brightpearl to aggregate our sales from multiple internet channels into a single point and then forward on to a fulfilment company. To achieve this we therefore use Brightpearl to manage our inventory and consequently for all purchases and deliveries of stock. We also use Brightpearl to manage all our accounting functions. Therefore we use it for all business functions.
  • Real-time inventory updates across multiple internet sales channels is the core of what was required and what it does.
  • Allowing access to the same data to different functions that have different functional requirements. For example the fulfilment company has different requirements to the purchasing function yet must work from the same raw data.
  • Real time accounting is a great comfort when margins are very tight.
  • Support information is very good. Individual queries are handled well. Incidents are visible online in realtime via status pages.
  • Reporting is limited, too many times I need to download to Excel data though at least I can do that. There may be some add-ons available but they seem very expensive for a small company.
  • The search screen sometimes responds when you press enter and sometime requires you to click on the filter button specifically. All the filter screens should take action when enter is pressed (small point but it is my gripe).
  • Automated processing of Amazon returns would save us a lot of time.
For a small business such as ours it seems well suited. Some tasks seem quite laborious and on a larger scale could be difficult. Also for a smaller business with only one internet channel it may be a bit overly complicated.

At 10ofThose, we use Brightpearl to manage all aspects of stock and finances across the whole business. We operate from several warehouses, buy from numerous suppliers, have thousands of products listed and require in depth stock and sales analysis. Brightpearl is used to manage all of these aspects on a daily basis.
  • Stock management - Brightpearl allows us to keep real time information on stock on hand, and stock allocated to customer orders.
  • Sales analysis - it is easy to review sales across brands and publishers, and to filter as necessary.
  • Customer order tracking - we have been able to set up a bespoke order tracking process so that we can give timely and clear information on demand.
  • Speed - Brightpearl can be slow at certain times of day, making it difficult (or even impossible) to complete heavy duty tasks like downloading large reports.
  • Inventory transfers - this is a helpful tool but it can be cumbersome to use. We'd love to be able to remove one or two steps.
  • Bank reconciliation - it would be useful to be able to sort these (e.g. by date, source) whilst keeping ticked items selected.
Brightpearl does not seem well suited for handling a large number of incoming payments, as it is very difficult to find information about specific transactions in payment records. It also struggles to handle large orders with over 100 lines, which we have to process on a semi-regular basis.

Birhgtpearl is well suited for handling large product portfolios - it helps us handle thousands of lines and differentiate between them to a more than satisfactory standard.

Brightpearl is being used in our entire organization, in the USA as well as in our corporate office in Australia. It serves the purpose of organizing our wholesale and e-commerce contacts, orders and CRM.
  • Brightpearl is great at inventory management. Being able to allocate stock and see LIVE what is available and what is out of stock is perfect for our business.
  • Brightpearl's CRM capabilities are extremely poor. There is no way to bulk update calls or activities and they have to be done one-by-one if trying to move tasks around. There is also no way of filtering or searching through your CRM tasks.
Brightpearl is well suited for companies/organizations that are looking to have better control/visibility of their stock in real time. It's especially great for organizations that have multiple warehouses. If an organization is looking for software to replace their CRM capabilities, Brightpearl is not the one.

It is well suited to businesses with multi-channel strategy, who need integrations. Accounting is not always as valued as it should be, but just my opinion.

Brightpearl has made a huge difference to our business. Having our sales, CRM, Accounting, stock management all in one system allows us to see the business in real-time and make decisions quickly.

It allows us to easily look after our customer base and see which customers are buying what and how often, which in turn helps us tailor our service. The accounting software is brilliant and has already helped us eliminate costs we used to incur by having our accountant sort on Sage software.

The App store is also a great feature and we have used a number of apps to streamline and improve processes not to mention the man hours some of the automated software aspects have made. We have been able to adjust/amend Brightpearl to suit our needs as a business to which has been great and we see it as an instrumental part of the business moving forward. Our last financial year was our best yet and we expect to improve on this again this year with the help of Brightpearl.

  • All aspects of the business can be run from one software package, not multiple packages/spreadsheets
  • Cloud based so you can log in anywhere in the world if you have the internet!
  • App store allows you to add features that suit and help your business. Some of these have been a real key factor for our business/
  • Ticket system has been poor so far and a disappointment. A re-launch due for March and we hope that is now going to help us.
  • Emailing from Brightpearl is restricted to one address. So for example - if you sent an email from an employee named Jon to a customer and a separate one to another customer from Tom, both emails would show up in the customers inbox from the same email address. This can lead to confusion for both customer and employees
If you run a business that has stock to manage and dispatch, courier services to arrange, or if you run e-commerce stores of your own or on Amazon or Ebay, then Brightpearl is a great product. You can have all of your sales from various channels dropped into the same software and that really helps save time and reduces the chances of human error.

We used Brightpearl in order to track inventory levels across three selling channels. These three selling channels are Amazon, eBay and our own website. It is used across the whole organization. Brightpearl allows live inventory levels across all channels which limits overselling on our part.
  • The strength of Brightpearl is the ability to have accurate live inventory levels on selling channels.
  • Brightpearl's integration with Shipstation provides a pretty seamless order to ship process.
  • The ability to distinguish customer sales between retail and wholesale for us is important. We can set pricing accordingly.
  • I have seen a lot of improvements over the last two years with the functionality of Brightpearl. I think some of their reporting functionality could be improved.
  • I do not like the accounting module of Brightpearl and so I do not use it to product financial reports. I am not sure if it is because the backbone of Brightpearl is UK based.
  • The document templates could be improved. The formatting functionality of the templates is limited.
If you are a company selling your products over several different platforms and need to have live inventory levels, Brightpearl is a good choice.

We use Brightpearl to manage our orders from third party eCommerce sites such as ebay and Amazon; in particular the postage with Royal Mail.
  • Fast importation of orders from eBay and Amazon.
  • Quick exportation of shipping from Brightpearl to Royal Mail.

  • Easy to set up new orders and take payment with credit cards such as SagePay.
  • Complicated accounts package set up more towards medium and large businesses.

Brightpearl is used as part of our accounting, as well as managing our customer details both for the organisation and for the contacts we have within that organisation. We started to use it over the last year to oversee yearly maintenance for our customers which means they have a different pricing scale to other contacts.
