With built-in templates, Smartsheet makes it easier to start with project management. This tool is very useful for collaboration, project management, and communication. If you can use MS Excel, you can easily master this software. Tableau needs more training to master and utilize since it involves some analysis skills, although many functions are built on Excel.

Which software we use for project management is often determined by the team we interact with or the client's choices. I prefer Smartsheet for process management due to the ease of setting up alerts and attaching necessary documentation. It was also fairly easy to set up and learn.

Smartsheet is very similar to Google Drive; but it does a better job of making sure everyone is held accountable for their contribution and their work. It makes the flow of work easier. It is organized and I can hold onto sheets of projects for years. I love that I can create my own templates to use and reuse. Overall, I recommend

It matches other platforms when it comes to overall project management needs. Permissioning and ways that you can limit access help, but its flexibility when it comes to using different types of overall project management really put it over the top. Being able to not use a specific style really helps their case as a top performer in their industry.

We chose Smartsheet over the other software because of its solid interface. An easy-to-use and very complete tool was necessary. In addition to the interface, the processes are quite simple so the training time of the software was shorter if we compare it with the other alternatives. This certainly allows us to save time and money and deal with problems more quickly.

Smarsheet was cheaper. JIRA is really expensive compared to Smartsheet. Smartsheet is also not just a checklist. Asana to me is just a checklist, which sometimes is not useful at all in project management.
I call it an Excel++. You can use it the same as Excel and also make Gantt charts and calendars.

Asana has a nicer interface but it expensive for what you get. Airtable works well. I would prefer Airtable over Smartsheet except it does not have the capability to fill out the DocuSign's we need. Otherwise, I would solely use Airtable for this. Google Sheets is great and also has many functions we need, I would use this over Smartsheet as well if it could integrate with what we need how we need it. Right now, Smartsheet is the only tool we can find that will save us the time and money or hiring someone for contracts.

Depending on your use of the software Smartsheet may be the perfect choice for you. If you use a Mac forget about MS Project because it does not support Mac. If you need for real-time collaboration Smartsheet excels at that. Smartsheet also supports sheets way beyond project management. It can also be used the way a spreadsheet may be used as well.

Considering the fact that the organization does not use email services, Google Sheets cannot guarantee high-level security for our files. Also, there are some other features offered by Smartsheet that are not offered by Google Sheets, such as attaching files to sheets.

This item is an extraordinary option to Microsoft Project, and better from numerous points of view. Simpler to utilize and increasingly adaptable. We likewise use JIRA for IT anticipates and keeping in mind that I see the similitudes. I think for Agile or Waterfall, JIRA may have the edge as it was structured explicitly for those reasons. I noticed that Smartsheet has a JIRA module yet have not utilized that usefulness right now.

Our design and dev team really enjoyed the look, feel, and flow of monday. However, from a project management and timeline approach I found it to be overwhelming and cumbersome. I needed a tool that could easily be replicable and client facing.

  • MS Project: Desktop standalone mostly, no online collaboration with other users, other functions are great.
  • IRA: Too complicated with too many options and functions with apps, not easy to have a whole picture of projects. It's too difficult of a web UI to enter or update data for a big project from screen to screen, training is not good enough.
  • MS Excel: Similar to MS Project, no project management functions, no online collaboration with other users.
  • Google Sheet: No project management functions, like Gantt chart, milestones timeline, etc.

We do not use Gmail as our company email service, so Google Sheets does not offer the same level of file security as Smartsheet. Smartsheet offers other features that Google Sheets does not, such as attaching files to a sheet. Although Google Sheets has a more modern look to it and offers more advanced spreadsheet equations and functions, these aspects are less important to us for most projects that we manage.

  • Aha! and Google Drive
Smartsheet has more features than Google Sheets but is more cumbersome to use. Aha! allows users to more visually apply tasks and tickets to corresponding topics and timelines.

Smartsheet is a happy medium of easy to use for fundamental timeline management with added features/functionality for more advanced users or complicated scenarios.

It is easy to share but there is some friction outside of the organization who do not use Smartsheet. Then it must be exported to Excel.

  • MS SharePoint
The functionality of Smartsheet really does not make this a fair comparison. Smartsheet has version control and not just within the sheet but each cell that contains data. This has been a game changer in protecting the integrity of information that we work with. Working across sheets and reporting across sheets has been incredibly beneficial.

This product is a great alternative to Microsoft Project, and better in many ways. Easier to use and more flexible. We also use JIRA for IT projects and while I see the similarities. I think for Agile or Waterfall, JIRA may have the edge as it was designed specifically for those purposes. I did notice that Smartsheet has a JIRA plugin but have not used that functionality at this time.

Smartsheet is the easiest to use solution for setting up simple- to moderate-complexity sheets for purposes like tracking a project (i.e., I have not used it for complex financial analyses before). I have used similar tools in work and personal life and Smartsheet has been the most flexible and intuitive for my purposes. At the surface it's a simple interface that's intuitive to anyone familiar with spreadsheets, but below the surface there's a host of other features suitable for many tasks, making this a pretty comprehensive solution for its purpose.

I am not a fan of how Google Docs and the associated apps format files. Google Charts also requires you to login with a Google account instead of using your work Outlook email address. Other than that they are very similar products in functionality. It really depends on what exactly you are looking for.

Smartsheet is so much easier to use than any other product. Because of how much it resembles and Excel spreadsheet, end users can pick it up and begin using it with very little to no training. The cost is also significantly less than the alternatives. Being a cloud solution was a requirement as well because we wanted easy access to our sheets without logging into a server. While Smartsheet does not have some of the features that the others have, it has everything that we need to manage our projects.

Trello is great for the visual person, but it doesn't have the simple spreadsheet capacity that Smartsheet has. If you are proficient in Excel, you don't need much training to use Smartsheet, whereas, Trello is a whole different environment.

I have preferred Smartsheet to Microsoft Project because it is more intuitive to use and better lends itself to collaboration. It also is more convenient to use because of the fact that it is accessible through the web.
In my experience with managing relatively small scale projects, there has not been an instance when I have not preferred Smartsheet to Microsoft Project for project planning tasks.
