It is being used across the organization in different departments (sales, marketing, training, references, etc.) As a B2B company, it helps us identify members who can advocate and vouch for our company, uncover new references, and stay ahead of our competitors. It also helps us address any problems we have with feedback, as it acts as a focus group that we can get instant feedback on whether it be products, a process, or how we are doing as a company.
  • Identifying new references
  • Social amplification
  • Instant feedback from customers who are passionate about your brand
  • Reporting - inconsistency on how they measure engagement
  • The option to have various languages
  • Integration with other CRM platforms that are not Salesforce
It is well suited for: uncovering references, getting testimonials, quotes, social amplification, instant feedback, promotion of events, engaging with customers at a managerial level or below.
It might be less appropriate for executives. Although a main goal of our platform was to engage with and find executives to be references, the platform is more of a fun tool for customers at a managerial or lower position. It is more difficult to get executives engaged and in these ways, customers using the platform need to be mindful of how to engage with them as it might not be so easy.

We are using AdvocateHub to provide additional value for our customers. Through AdvocateHub we share product development information, offer opportunities to network with peers, provide professional development and recognition and offer fun opportunities to learn more about our product and industry. In turn we gain brand loyalty, increase product engagement and support our renewal goals.
  • AdvocateHub does an amazing job of offering a variety of ways our customers can get involved, from challenges to discussions to referrals and more, there is something that appeals to everyone.
  • The AdvocateHub team does a phenomenal job of onboarding and helping to ensure your success through all phases. They have a fantastic system and an enthusiastic and knowledgeable staff.
  • The developers at AdvocateHub are always looking for ways to improve and I love how they provide direct insight into their roadmap. What's more, we even have the opportunity to provide input and share our excitement for features on the horizon.
  • There are occasional stability issues in the AdvocateHub, primarily stemming around targeting groups. They do a wonderful job of providing immediate information if an issue arises and when the issue is resolved.
  • I would like to see greater visibility into some email reporting. If an advocate leaves your hub an email is sent after a specific period of time. Responses to this email are not available, except through your customer success coach. Likewise, the content of the email is only available if you ask.
  • I would like more control over some of the messaging that goes out to our advocates as well as the timing of that messaging.
AdvocateHub is very well suited to supporting your customer marketing or customer advocacy initiatives. They offer a wide range of creative and effective methods of engaging your customers in your brand and your product. The AdvocateHub is also well suited to employees. It's a great way to boost morale, build teamwork and promote your brand.

We use Influitive AdvocateHub across marketing, sales, and our product teams to engage with customers at multiple levels. With so many customer-focused teams, it was difficult to manage multiple concurrent initiatives and track the performance of each. We also didn't have a good mechanism for recognizing and rewarding our best customers, who contribute to the company through product feedback and marketing support. Influitive AdvocateHub gives us a tool to do all of these things in a scalable, trackable, reportable way with comparably little HR investment.
  • Influitive AdvocateHub is great at generating customer feedback and insight, but also enabling marketing and product teams to build fun, rewarding engagement points that scale.
  • Influitive AdvocateHub is a great platform for amplifying demand generation campaigns, from referral drives to supporting social campaigns to generating customer-driven content for blog posts, landing pages, and more.
  • Influitive AdvocateHub provides engagement channels that go beyond email communications. By highly segmenting advocates in the hub, you can provide an experience tailored to advocates by company size, industry, job title, or whatever vector you wish.
  • The mobile strategy/UI isn't all the way there
  • Advocates who are already members of other hubs find it difficult to sign in -- especially if they can't remember their other logins (or don't remember that they have one)
AdvocateHub is great for scaling customer marketing activities, and provides a simple platform for activating your best customers. For companies with multiple product lines, small customer bases, or who are much more focused on reference management than other advocate activities, Influitive might be a complimentary option to something else.

My company uses AdvocateHub as a way to interact with our customers (mainly HR Managers). Through AdvocateHub we are able to determine satisfaction with our program, determine things our users would like us to add/include/exclude in our program, and identify potential customer case studies and customer speakers interested in joining us at events.

AdvocateHub is primarily used by our Marketing Dept. Business problems addressed include (as mentioned above) getting real feedback from our users and in identifying people who are happy with our product and who would either be interested in speaking with us at an event, or doing a case study with us. We've seen great results & success-- very happy with AdvocateHub!
  • Customer Service! AdvocateHub is extremely responsive to any questions we have and are always happy to hop on a call with us to make sure we're all set.
  • Easy to use interface. The product itself does a great job of being intuitive. Little technical skill is needed and it doesn't take long to upload challenges, approve challenges and pull reports.
  • The concept behind the program is so well executed -- its a very clean interface which uses gasification very well encouraging users to complete more challenges and is fun to use.
  • Could make archiving challenges a little easier
  • I would like users to be able to see completed challenges and how many points they earned per challenge in a little bit of a better layout. (It's there, but its a little confusing and feels like its missing some info)
During a selection process, I would come to the meeting knowing how many users you have that you would like to use AdvocateHub; then ask for your industry, what percentage of them you could expect to become an active user.

This program really is perfect for B2B companies because it's fun for users to use and the capabilities are pretty limitless--it's all and anything you can dream up, though AdvocateHub is there to recommend some best practices and tips too. We've had amazing results; absolutely achieved a quick ROI and would recommend it to pretty much anyone.

We're using it for customer advocacy and have rolled it out to around 30 customers to start with. It helps us engage customers with the help of gamification; get them to do content marketing for us and we hope to increase references and referrals via the Hub. Eventually, we would like to launch it for employees as well and give a strong push to our content marketing strategy.
  • The Hub integrates seamlessly with Salesforce.com and helps you request references from Salesforce itself. Also referrals can be tracked via the integration and only when the referral converts to a customer, the referral challenge is considered successful.
  • It is a great tool for content marketing efforts. You can get your advocates to write blogs, do video testimonials, and even appear at events via the challenges.
  • It is a cool way to reward your best advocates by giving them perks and rewards for their efforts in helping you get new customers or just market your product to their peers.
  • The customer support is unbeatable. Ask them a question within business hours and they will reply to you in minutes.
  • AdvocateHub needs to add more challenge templates so that admins don't have to spend too much time in thinking what to write for a particular challenge.
  • Would be nice to see a customizable Hub to have a look and feel in sync with the company website.
  • They should have a daily report for admins to track the progress of the advocacy program.
How many advocates do you have? If less than 200, would recommend not going for the solution because ideally 20% of the people will be active on the hub and 50-60% of the total people might join the Hub. You don't want just 25 active advocates, do you? So, my advice is if you are going for a customer advocacy only, you should be at 200+ customers.

AdvocateHub is being used by the entire organization to drive employee and customer advocacy. We are looking to increase communication, improve education and knowledge, share trends and best practices, and have some fun while doing it. This is an excellent tool to collaborate and communicate with all groups.
  • Drive customer retention and loyalty
  • Grow revenue within existing customer base
  • Simpler management & mobilization of customer references
  • Higher quality referral leads and new customer logos
  • Better brand recognition & improved reputation
  • Ability to segment administrative work by department
  • Requires daily followup to ensure advocates get feedback quickly
Ensure you have a resource who can manage the program and add challenges/community topics on a weekly basis.

AdvocateHub is currently being rolled out internally within the organization with the intent of centralizing and maintaining all internal communications, removing barriers between departments and incentivizing participation.
Currently, it's being built out to incorporate partners & customers, as well.
  • It makes active participation a lot of fun.
  • It dramatically improves awareness of market initiatives/collateral, product, sales, industry, etc.
  • Encourages and fosters creativity.
  • Their customer services team is especially good to work with, and very quick in their response.
  • The reward program helps gauge interests of your advocates.
  • Social is centralized and extremely simple.
  • Needs an android app.
  • There are many bugs and they can be very annoying.
  • May not be a negative, but my users say it's very addictive and keeps them away from their work for much longer than they would like.
The answer to this largely depends on the need. Our company is looking for a centralized location for internal communication and awareness, as well as a chance to have some fun and reward extra work. From an externally-facing perspective, fostering awareness/sharing and getting inside-reviews of your product by customers/partners would be very easy.

We use AdvocateHub to connect with our clients. We have made our hub exclusive to our users letting them know about product ideas, webinars and different resources that are available to them. It is specifically used among one department and we have a specific administrator who works on this. It has allowed us to get on a more personal level with our clients. It addresses many business problems and allows us to use our users as resources for referrals and prospects.
  • Personal level of interaction.
  • Allows them to be aware of tips, new, and other events going on in the busness.
  • Resource for them to learn more.
  • More customization features.
  • I like that they are doing more functionality and options when it comes time for users to answer questions.
It all depends on if you want to offer your users/clients an opportunity. I feel is has been very beneficial and they have a great support team to help you get your hub up and running. Whether it is well suited or not is a personal preference depending on what clientele or product you may be working with. For us personally it has allowed us to really connect with our users.

We use AdvocateHub within marketing, to communicate with our existing clients better, to collect feedback relating to our products and releases, and most importantly we use AdvocateHub as a lead gen tool, promoting referrals. Our company wanted a more structured referral process in place, to generate more leads from our existing, and happy, clients. We also have been able to establish stronger relationships with our clients, to help reduce churn rates.
  • Lead Gen tool
  • Client Communication
  • Product Feedback
  • Requires constant maintenance (to collect feedback)
  • Is completely seperate from our product offering and requires a seperate sign in
With a system like AdvocateHub, you get what you put into it. If you use it everyday, and create a lot of challenges to collect information and generate engagement and referrals, you will see action, but it's not a set it and forget it solution. If this is something you can integrate into your business it can be beneficial, if not, it could be a distraction.

We use the AdvocateHub to really build our relationships with our customers and develop a symbiotic relationship with each other. The value that Bomgar provides our advocates and the value they provide to us complement each other perfectly in the Hub environment. The Marketing department uses it most, but our technical team and product team also use it to get great ideas for new improvements from our advocates as well. Finding brand love is made possible for us (since we aren't a consumer good) with AdvocateHub!
  • Manages the customer relationship in an organized and easily accessible way.
  • The interface is intuitive and easy to navigate.
  • Challenge and reward templates inspire great ideas to get advocates involved.
  • They could find a way to get the Hub to react to changes a little faster.
  • I would like more company personalization in the Hub.
Make sure your have a customer base that is able to interact this way and wants to take advantage of it. Some companies don't allow this kind of incentivation of employees.

The AdvocateHub is used for Mitel employees (3000+) currently and we will be adding partners and customers over the next few months. I am responsible for growing Mitel's perception, increasing revenue and employee engagement. I needed an easy way to identify and mobilize our advocates.
  • The product is solid. As an admin I was responsible for creating challenges, coming up with point amounts and some other things. Influitive manages the software. I did a three month pilot to build and test our Mitel Champions Hub and didn't encounter any problems with the software.
  • The staff at Influitive is rock solid! I was assigned a success coach, Eli, who met with me weekly to set goals and work through action items in Basecamp. This was the highlight of my experience having someone guide me to build the best Hub I could! Anytime I had questions the team at Influitive has been stellar!
  • The folks at Influitive get marketing! This Hub is brilliant and is going to help us grow our social selling initiative and other marketing initiatives so much that we are thrilled we found the product!
  • Add support for other mobile devices like Android and Blackberry for our global users who prefer those.
I think one challenge is some companies haven't got the concept of "advocacy marketing" yet. Advocate marketing encompasses many different marketing departments. First and foremost, I see that it's a demand generation opportunity because you can get referrals from employees and customer advocates for new business. That's really powerful and Influitive already has templates and training on how to do this. Second, I think it's a major social media initiative. Every Friday since January 2014 I've sent out customer success Fridays with a new customer success. This includes suggested tweets but then employees have to cut and paste the content. With Influitive it's so easy for advocates just to click a button! The other ways you can leverage customer advocates are for online reviews, customer references, identifying customers for press/case studies/videos and so much more! There are so many opportunities to leverage our advocates and I think of new ways every day!

As the manager of advocacy at Applause, I currently manage our AdvocateHub powered by Influitive full time. Since I began using Influitive and receiving the guidance and support from the Influitive team, I have been able to gain numerous product reviews, over 15 referrals, and fulfilled multiple sales reference requests. But most importantly, I've been able to interact with our customers on a whole new level. It has allowed me to communicate and learn about them personally and professionally in a fun and engaging way. I could not be any happier with Influitive and look forward to future product releases and advocacy offerings in the future.
  • Customer success
  • Customer engagement
  • Some of the more recent releases of the product (AdvocateHub) have been tougher to use, more than beneficial.

AdvocateHub is being used by my company in order to garner online reviews, engage customers, collect testimonials for marketing initiatives, and receive product feedback. The software is managed by the Marketing department, but the benefits are felt by the Sales, Customer Success and Product Development teams.
  • Visually appealing user experience, with gamification components that help with engagement.
  • Great support team that answers technical questions quickly.
  • Challenge library is great for providing ideas, and pre-made challenges to send out to your advocates.
  • Hard to see different segment perspectives from the back-end (i.e. there isn't a way to see the Hub from an employee perspective vs. a customer perspective while you are logged in as an admin).
AdvocateHub is great for companies looking to engage their customers more closely, grow reference groups, collect feedback, and gather reviews.

Influitive has helped us take our referral program to a new level. It's given our team the ability to engage more frequently with our partners and understand their preferences, needs, and motivations.
  • Frequent product updates you didn't even know you wanted. Their product team is incredible and the entire company is always looking out for ways to improve their product and incorporate customer feedback and requests.
  • Smart platform that is easy to use, and allows program administrators to be extremely creative.
  • Great people, platform, customer service, community engagement, best practices and other helpful resources.
  • Slightly difficult to accommodate a program that is not primarily intended for customers.
  • Analytics and CRM integration capabilities could be stronger.
AdvocateHub is great for customer referrals, references, and overall customer advocacy and engagement. It could be challenging to use for complex programs with technical requirements, but their product team is incredibly helpful and they will most likely find a way to accommodate needs.

It's being used mainly in the Customer Success department, but Product, Sales, and Marketing have input. It addresses customer engagement problems, as well as builds pipeline for Sales.
  • Their staff is the most pleasant I've ever worked with. Support is responsive. Our advocacy coach is great. The team really cares about the product and they take pride in it.
  • The product itself is great. We've seen an increase in engagement.
  • Transparency. Software is glitchy, but the team at Influitive is transparent about any issues they may be encountering and how they're solving those issues.
  • The reporting capabilities are a little basic. There are a ton of reports, but I think customization would be nice.
  • Some of the processes for segmenting can be a little manual.
  • Sorting/viewing in admin view can be overwhelming unless you're on top of your organization.
I think every B2B SaaS, PaaS, IaaS company could use a product like Influitive's. There are no cases where it is "less appropriate". We thought it wouldn't work as we have a unique customer base, but if you listen to your customers and adjust the community then it'll be a success.

AdvocateHub is the main tool used by the developer relations team within BlackBerry in order to stay in touch with the different developer communities we manage, the Enterprise Developer Groups and the BlackBerry Developer Elites.

The Hub allows us to keep the community members engaged and aligned to the global goals of the company. We create different challenges in order to collect important information about the community members, to keep them busy with activities that bring benefits to both them and the company and, last but not least, to recognize who the best advocates are.

For us, the top 10 advocates are those who will be involved in special activities, invited to events and so on. Using the hubis mandatory for the members of our developer community. For example, if you are part of our Developer Elite community and you have not been using the hub for three months, you'll be demoted.
  • Collect information
  • Keep the community engaged
  • Assign a "rank" to the advocates
  • information at a glance, like getting the list of top advocates etc. Need to use the reports for that
  • quickly get info about not-active advocates
  • visual information for advocates who are doing particularly well in a certain period of time
When you have a community you would like to keep engaged and whenever you want to collect important information from that community, information that allows you to make decisions, the Hub is the best tool you can think of. The Hub allows you to achieve your goals helping your advocates to help you.

  • Allows administrators to easily set up levels, badging (gamification platform), communications, etc
  • Provides seamless integration with rewards vendors like FirstGiving for charity disbursment, and Printfection for on demand schwag fulfillment - makes it so easy for the administrator & allows for the company to not have to store inventory, etc.
  • Would like to see more of an analytics dashboard integrated with the tool
We scoped out exactly what we wanted and what it would take to build it internally before we landed on Influitive. We were so pleased that nearly everything we planned for was included in the solution and would be much less expensive to implement with Influitive than building it ourselves. Not only that, but the team is always looking for ways to improve the client's experience with the tool and how we can reach out to the audience we are interested in in a more meaningful and impactful way. They are concerned with the advocates' experience, the stickiness of their interaction with the client through the solution, etc. This is clear in everything they build and in the way they coach clients in how to engage their advocates during the set up process. We reviewed several other off the shelf solutions and none of them came close to comparing to what Influitive offers in terms of features for value.

Our AdvocateHub is used by the Software Evangelism team as a means to promote software developer advocates for our product. We began by selecting the topmost contributors to forums, technical articles and code, and expanded the program later. As an open source offering, our goal was to get developers to talk about the software with other developers and then expose them to our commercial products when they download software and visit our web properties.
  • AdvocateHub is easy to administer and monitor. Bringing new advocates on board is also made simple with AdvocateHub and people generally get up to speed and become productive advocates quite quickly.
  • Advocates choose engaging challenges to complete which provide "points" typically based on the time and effort required. These points are then used for recognition and rewards. The challenges can take the form of anything from providing referrals, reading or commenting on articles, providing feedback on new products, or just fun stuff.
  • The gamification element is very well engineered. Earned points, leaderboards, badges, rewards, perks and ample opportunities for feedback make AdvocateHub an enjoyable experience for administrate and advocate alike.
  • The support staff is incredible. They often respond within an hour or two after I ask a question or report a problem; and they are always ready to help me find a workaround when an issue comes up that isn't easily fixable.
  • The field of Advocacy Marketing is relatively new and its application is still being explored. Influitive listens to its customers and often incorporates their ideas into their frequent product update releases. Sometimes a feature may take a while to be completed and it may not be in exactly the form one desires -- but I've always been impressed with the care and thought that goes into each release.
  • I'm a programmer at heart and I would love to see more complexity in how badges, challenges, and groups (of advocates) can be manipulated and displayed. The good news is that Influitive has made great strides lately in this area and created user interface logic that should be straightforward for almost any administrator. I'm pleased.
  • In spite of the fact that AdvocateHub does a lot of the heavy lifting, I find that the personal touch via an e-mail or phone call often helps in moving advocates along. Being a successful advocate administrator is not a part-time job. My biggest frustration is not having the time to keep on top of all the things I want to do for the advocates.
  • You need a steady supply of new advocates coming into your program because people occasionally get overwhelmed with other things in life and may disengage for periods of time, or their interest wanes due to passions in other things. Constant recruitment of exciting new advocates is an important and necessary job. Without new blood, an AdvocateHub can become rather lifeless.
Obviously it is important to build your AdvocateHub around a specific set of goals. Running an Advocacy Marketing program should also have high-level corporate buy-in with Sales, Marketing, Training and PR all on board. Without this support, it will be difficult to keep the level of interest high and the pipeline of new advocate recruits full.

We're using Influitive's AdvocateHub to power our Cvent Advocate program. Customer marketing (my team) is driving the program, but we're working alongside sales, client services, and technology to make sure we're making the program as good as it can be. AdvocateHub solves a number of problems for us: 1) creates user-generated content (quotes, testimonials, case studies) 2) gives us an audience to gather product feedback 3) provides a path for our best customers to submit referrals.
  • Activity targeting (by product, title, engagement level, location - you name it!)
  • Training and Advocate Marketing Onboarding (you have an onboarding specialist with you for 1-2 months needed to launch your program). They provided tons of helpful tips and tricks.
  • Technology team is constantly updating the technology, based on advocate input.
  • Activities could be more easily displayed (but they're working on it!)
  • More advanced reporting (they have a ton of reporting capabilities, I'd just like the option to save reports within the system instead of exporting)
  • More advocate: advocate engagement through the ability to tag other advocates in responses to community posts.
I don't think there are any scenarios that come to mind when AdvocateHub isn't appropriate. I do think you need to know the answers to these questions though:
1. Who is your targeted audience that you want to engage with your organization? (i.e. employees, partners, customers?)
2. What are your key goals of the program (do you want more referrals? Better employee satisfaction ratings? More social media activity?
3. Does your CRM system sync with AdvocateHub? (This isn't a requirement, but I think it's an essential feature)
4. Do you have someone in your organization who will manage your AdvocateHub? (If the answer is no, then you have a problem).

We are currently implementing and launching our AdvocateHub and are very excited about the product! It is easy to use and always improving. Influitive offers a lot of support and tools to ensure you are successful. With past examples and templates it's easy to understand how to be successful in your own hub. We are using it for external customers but will be using it for internal employees as well in the future. With a team of two we are currently managing the hub ourselves. Overall it's a great product and something that is necessary for any B2B business!
  • Support
  • Ideas
  • Innovation
  • Some features are missing depth
AdvocateHub is definitely catered towards mid-sized B2B software companies.

We use Influitive to interactively engage with our customers and turn them into our best advocates. The Marketing and Customer Success teams use it extensively. Before Influitive we did not have any formal channel for interacting and engaging with our customers. Influitive solved that problem for us!
  • Interactive and fun platform to engage with your customers
  • Helps you identify your active supports and turns them into your best advocates
  • Helps you spread the word, and everyone knows the potential of WOM marketing
  • Great tool to generate referrals and references
  • Amplifies your social media presence
  • Chat functionality to interact real time with customers
I'd say it would depend on the number of customers you have. If the number is greater than100, going ahead with Influitive would make sense.
