Sage Intacct is a cloud-based financial accounting software system with functionalities for small to mid-sized businesses. Sage Intacct delivers an array of core accounting applications such as a general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash management, and order management to any accounting department or finance team. It also supports functionality for built-in dashboards, real time reporting, time and expense management, project accounting, revenue management, and global consolidations for multiple entities.

With an open API structure, Sage Intacct’s accounting solution also provides integration with any CRM, payroll, POS, or ERP system such as Salesforce, and ADP.

Ultimately I think this depends on the other software you are using. Intacct has some limitations when syncing with Salesforce. We cannot use sync to update transactions between the two the way we would like. This creates some manual work that is time-consuming.

The integration of Intacct overall was pretty smooth. We had some hiccups with some of the reporting and having multiple currencies and bank accounts. The turnaround time on resolving those issues could have been improved

We hired a consultant to help us implement Sage Intacct. It was a lot of work designing the dimensional chart of accounts to meet our needs and planning each aspect of the configuration, but it was well worth the time and expense when the finished product rolled out.

The support representatives we've been working with to implement 606 and Contracts module appear to not be as familiar with Contracts module functionality as we'd have hoped. They have been receptive and helpful trying to help work with our implementation company to implement Contracts module, but there have been some limitations based on the gap in understanding of both accounting workflow and Contracts module itself, as well as communication issues between all three parties.

Going from QuickBooks to Intacct has been quite the ordeal. With an integration time frame of 2.5 months, it was not enough. The differences between the two softwares are not detailed and key functionality differences were missed. There needs to be more of a specialized integration for when customers are coming over from QuickBooks in order to cover everything and set it up properly.

As a NFP, we started the implementation with a lack of internal resource, which was an oversight on our part. We were reliant on consultants and underestimated the complexity of implementing this type of solution over a multi-entity organization without having first worked through much more pre-implementation planning before commencing the rollout. If we did this again, we'd engage consultants earlier to guide us through the pre-implementation planning and do more internal process review / re-engineering prior to implementation. We would also do more work on identifying best practice especially around consolidations and budgeting prior to rollout.

The integration was not the best. The company that provided the integration (I won't list the name) was very new to Sage Intacct and had us set up some things incorrectly. We are now unable to go back and fix them. It's not Sage Intacct's fault but their reseller's fault in my opinion since we are not able to purchase directly from Sage Intacct. The consultants that re-sell Sage Intacct need to be up to better speed on integration.

Our integration was a little difficult. We were passed off to an outside integration company and the person doing our implementation was new. We were his very first implementation. It was a bit rocky but ultimately we were able to get everything completed and up and running on time.

If you use a partner product who has developed the link, integration is relatively painless. However, it is somewhat limited in the multi-entity environment. For example, we can only link to one Salesforce instance, so for our other entity, we are forced to do a backend data transfer. And, for our bill paying system, it integrates to multiple entities but it was a bit of a complex process.
