These tools help salespeople view overall email engagement by tracking metrics such as open rate, click through rate, and how far down an email prospects are reading. Sales email tracking tools are typically very easy to use and integrate with the user’s email application to provide email engagement information from inside the user’s inbox. They also don’t require any action either from the email sender or recipient in order to track an email and thus run ‘noiselessly’ in the background. Common sales email tracking tool features include email engagement metrics tracking, email templates, automated sales email cadences, email A/B testing, sales email recommendations, follow-up reminders, click-to-call, sales email scheduling, and campaign management. Most sales email tracking tools also integrate with the user’s CRM and can provide sales intelligence information about subscribers’ and prospects’ engagement history and engagement with content inside or attached to the email.

Conversica is an automated virtual assistant software designed to help salespeople and marketers find and manage new leads. It helps identify high-quality leads, engages prospects over email and live chat, determines when there is a sales opportunity, and provides sales representatives with relevant contact and engagement information. Conversica also has integrations with marketing automation and CRM software such as Salesforce, Marketo, and HubSpot. The majority (60%) of Conversica users on TrustRadius are from midsize businesses. While Conversica is more of a sales intelligence and lead management tool, it is also used to reach out to prospects via email and track their engagement level. Two things reviewers say Conversica does well are starting up conversations with old leads that have gone cold and engaging prospects in 1-on-1 conversations that flow easily and naturally.

Outreach is a sales engagement platform that provides sales teams with a wide range of email tracking metrics to help gauge prospect’s interest and pinpoint optimal email delivery windows. It includes features such as open and click rate tracking, Gmail integration, ability to design email sequences and cadences, Salesforce integration, email templates, automated email responses, email alerts, and the ability to group emails using lists and tags. A large majority (76%) of Outreach users on TrustRadius are from midsize businesses. According to reviewers, designing sequences and generating reports are two of Outreach’s strengths.
“With [Outreach] we are able to create ‘sequences’ which are a series of outreach touch points primarily consisting of emails, calls, and activity on LinkedIn. The semi-automated, semi-manual sequences allow us to drop a prospect into a pre-planned sequence and their interface facilitates us doing daily ‘tasks’ which are the touch points I mentioned. It helps our sales team move a lot faster and with more consistency.”

Groove is a sales platform that enables salespeople to reach out to prospects, record interactions with leads and customers, automate sequences and workflows, and track sales performance across metrics. Groove includes sales email tracking capabilities with features such as open-rate and click through tracking, recording what time of day emails were opened, email templates, automated follow-up reminders, scheduled sending, and automatic syncing of inbound and outbound email records in Salesforce. The majority (67%) of Groove users on TrustRadius are from midsize businesses. Reviewers note that Groove has very strong email tracking capabilities and helps them ensure that all communications are logged in Salesforce.

SalesLoft is a sales engagement platform that provides sales teams with email tracking, sales dialer, meeting intelligence, and sales analytics capabilities. Along with traditional email tracking metrics such as open rates and click-through rates, SalesLoft also records what time of day an email is opened, indirect and forwarded email reply tracking, ‘how’ an email is being read with user behavior tracking, and where an email is being read. Over half of SalesLoft users (58%) on TrustRadius are from midsize businesses. Reviewers highlight that multi-channel (e.g. email and phone) cadences and data sync with their CRM are two benefits of using SalesLoft.

Drift is a conversational marketing platform that includes sales email tracking capabilities. One unique feature Drift offers is ‘smart sequencing’, which is designed to guide leads through a cohesive conversation rather than multiple different email, live chat, or phone conversations. Drift uses natural language processing to opt individuals in or out of receiving future emails in the sequence based on their response. It also helps eliminate redundant emails or offers so that prospects are not asked if they would like a demo three times in the same week. Reviewers on TrustRadius call out customer service and the user-friendly UI as two things Drift does especially well.

HubSpot offers users a sales hub platform with a wide range of capabilities including sales email automation and email tracking. The platform includes features such as email open and click rate tracking, email templates, email scheduling, meeting scheduling, Salesforce integration, email notifications, and customizable reports. The majority (54%) of HubSpot Sales users on TrustRadius are from small businesses. According to reviewers, two things HubSpot Sales does well are email tracking and customizing email workflows.

It includes features such as open rates, click through, and email attachment tracking; email templates; email tracking reports; email reminders; and CRM data synch. Reviewers highlight the email notifications, Salesforce data sync, and email tracking dashboard with metrics like open rates and download rates as one of Yesware’s strengths.

From InsideSales, Predictive Playbooks is a sales cadence tool that includes sales email tracking capabilities. It includes features such as tracking email open rates and link clicks, real-time email notifications, email cadences with automated follow up reminders, integration with LinkedIn Sales Navigator, email delivery window recommendations, email templates, and CRM data sync. The majority (62%) of Predictive Playbooks users on TrustRadius are from enterprises. According to reviewers, the ‘neural send’ feature enables them to see what the best time of day is to contact a prospect and the ability to schedule different email or phone cadences (or ‘plays’) facilitates pipeline management.

Also from InsideSales, Predictive PowerDialer is a sales acceleration tool than enables salespeople to spend more time reaching out to high-quality leads that are likely to convert. Even though this product is a sales dialer, it allows sales reps to engage prospects across multiple channels, including email. Features include intelligent lead prioritization, single-click dialing, performance reports, call recording and monitoring, email templates, and Salesforce data sync. Over half (55%) of Predictive PowerDialer users on TrustRadius are from midsize businesses. Reviewers note that the dialer-to-CRM data sync and automatic call logging are two of InsideSales Predictive PowerdDialer’s best features.
“You can really hit a lot more leads in a day. With a prioritized seek list and pre-recorded voicemails, I could easily call 120+ leads per day, and get a lot of touches on these contacts whether through just a call, a VM, or a templated email.
