Basically, you can set up your store and walk away except for checking on the orders daily, print postal labels that have correct and discounted postage. Notifications appear on your dashboard for various maintenance such as the number of products in inventory and email messages. The statics are easily available for daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly activity. You can also see where your traffic originates, such as social media, advertisement, or search engine.

Well Suited:
In a B2B environment, this seems to be the best option available vs. a platform like Shopify which will require much more customization out of the box to get it to function as a true B2B site. If you're selling on multiple channels this is also a great platform to work off of. Google shopping/Facebook integration is great.

It's easy to get started with Big Commerce, and the price is right at the beginning. Once I realized how detailed I could make all the listings I didn't really have a good plan in place. It's fairly difficult to change the pricing on each listing, the way I have things set up, but it does allow me to tack on extras, and charge the correct amount.

We list globally on our website and Amazon, as well as eBay and quite a few other marketplaces. BigCommerce helped us save a lot of time by immediately listing all the products on all the platforms and synchronizing across all of those marketplaces is also very quick making BigCommerce well suited for an e-commerce company. The SEO tools are also very nice to make companies appear more on google search results.

BigCommerce is well suited for selling specific items. It is easy to add and change prices. It is very hard to create packages where customers can bundle items that naturally would go together. BigCommerce does not have an easy to use subscription plan and any customization is very hard to do.

I can't really think of any reason BigCommerce it is not suited for any person or business. We have had great success with it for sales via the phone or web, and with user-friendly systems for the customer and our sales staff. No plans to change from them and have been very happy. They also check your website frequently and offer free advice!

I think at the moment I would recommend it for businesses looking for a solid platform to host their e-commerce site on. It has great features to manage customers' accounts and orders. If the subscription of products is in the future, I would avoid the service since it doesn't currently offer that. I wish it would but you will have to resort to costly third-party vendors which may not always be the most reliable.

BigCommerce is easily implemented and you can have products and your website up in no time. It has a wide app base as well that has multiple solutions for many issues you may face with your business. Having access to those extra app tools gives you an edge on keeping your business e-commerce running smoothly while improving it.

It's great for companies that have a large, diverse inventory. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone who has less than 100 products. The cost is a bit concerning though. I don't think the platform is as developer centric ala Magento, but it can appeal to less skilled users.

BigCommerce is well-suited for scalability. As our company and SKU count grow, we know that BigCommerce will be there to support us and give our customers a top-notch buying experience. Since the bulk of small and mid-size businesses do not have the capital to invest in development, I'd like to see BigCommerce spend more time building out their core feature base. Interfacing with experienced retailers (brick and mortar, catalog, and e-commerce) which will help determine the core feature set that BigCommerce should have.

Well suited to eCommerce teams that are the ones who primarily update the site. They should have a limited amount of technical knowledge, but by no means need to be developers. The platform is great for small to medium-sized businesses that are growing. It works well for businesses that want to have plug-ins and best-in-class features, but not for companies that are so big that they would be better suited to build solutions in-house.

Well suited for e-commerce. The ease in which it allows the addition of new products and the ability to edit existing products makes Big Commerce especially will be suited for my e-commerce business. Also, since Big Commerce is such a well know platform, it's easy to integrate with platforms like Google Shopping.
Probably not as well suited for a lead gathering or information only business.

BigCommerce works really really well for us being an online retailer. It is easy to use, integrates well with third-party apps for integration into accounting, shipping, etc. However, for anything other than product catalog and retail, it is maybe not the best option. For example, if your company offers services and not simple products I don't think this would be the best option.

BigCommerce is well suited to get you the tools and contacts to create an amazing website. I have been put in contact with some amazing contacts to help customize my template. However, I noticed that is getting harder to get support from BigCommerce on the phone at certain times.

For a small business, we have so many areas of concern that are taken care of with BigCommerce that we do not have to worry about. The platform is constantly changing, being upgraded and modernized. We reap the benefits of continuous improvement in E-commerce and do not have to worry about having the latest and greatest. By having an open architecture, there are many different solutions that we can choose from to make the site better, improve our business and grow our position in E-commerce. The integration of Amazon has been great and runs seamlessly in the background, integrating into all of the apps that we use in our business to make it easy for our staff to process orders in one place without having to take additional steps to process the order.

I believe that it works very well with ecommerce stores but I'm not positive how it would be that useful for a blog or standard company website. I believe that there are probably a lot more cheaper options out there if you needed something simple. It also allows for a large item and online library and categories, something we also needed.

So far it has carried us from mom and pop to the rising industry star stage in style. When we reach enterprise level we'll have a better idea if we can stay with BC for the long haul or go the route of a completely custom website. So far so good.

For keeping things simple and having something that just works, BigCommerce is a no-brainer. Intricate customization is still quite possible but a bit trickier given moderate lockdown of the platform, which is a security plus. For very specialized and fine-grained control of the entire ecommerce pipeline, though, using BigCommerce will eventually take a toll if another platform (perhaps self-hosted) isn't considered.

I think for a small, mid or large size business without much customization that BigCommerce is a great out of the box solution. It has a lot of value for the price. I think that there are cases where BigCommerce is not as well suited. It seems like in the help forums that people struggle with presenting different options to different users and sometimes come up with the solution of purchasing multiple storefronts for subdomains or for a wholesale vs retail site. I think that the more customization a customer wants the more they need to hire outside help to find a solution.
