I have been using ZoomInfo now for the past few years. It allows me the flexibility to identify key employees within an organization along with their titles, and a brief profile of the employee. I am also able to see at a glance revenue, employees, industry, and attributes as it helps with being able to identify potential clients within certain industry criteria.
  • I like how you are able to search by Company Name, Industry Keywords, and location
  • You are able to refine your search by key job functions, management levels, and additional filters
  • You are even able to pull up partial profiles
  • I would like to have the option of being notified of updates
  • I would like to have the option of being notified if a company has been added to a certain industry
  • I would like to have the option of being notified if a C-Level, or VP-Level [employee] has been added
In sales, we are to list 50 potential clients to target on a monthly basis. Having the option to visit one site that is able to provide not only location or phone number but also the company background and description, as well as the number of employees within a single click is extremely valuable. This cuts down the time of having to go to each company website and navigate to get the required information. The only issue is if there is a similar name of the company you are looking for that has the same name as part of another company it pulls up all profiles.

We were using WantedAnaltics to be able to identify companies hiring for a specific role. 9 out of 10 times, the same companies would appear on the daily list and there was not a filter to select new companies. With ZoomInfo we are able to narrow down the search and save time and effort when trying to identify potential clients.
I am currently not utilizing the reports as it is not something that I require at this time.

Zoominfo is being used by our business development and research teams to gain business intelligence and contact information directly for a prospect. We use it to cut down the time it takes to dig for this research organically, or call organizations directly and probe for this information. Often times, you'll be faced with the fact that a gatekeeper won't connect you to a decision maker within the organization you're prospecting without a direct name or per their own guidelines, but Zoominfo provides what I have found to be the most accurate and largest list of direct lines and emails for your targets! This makes our resources way more effective and efficient, and saves us time (which is money!) in between developing prospect lists.
  • Data Integrity - their contact information is usually VERY accurate, especially the direct lines of executive and c level suites.
  • Customer service - they are always pleasant and efficient when dealing with any questions or issues you may encounter, and have very fast turnaround times on resolutions.
  • Multiple price points - their package choices allow you to enter as a customer at a price point based on your anticipated monthly usage of the software. This is nice for justifying their software as a supplementary tool for gaining direct lines of management , and not break the bank for doing so.
  • Sometimes you will see "direct line available" and you will use a credit to unlock it, and it ends up being the same main line you could have simply searched for on any search engine. That can be frustrating, but usually you can email support and let them know and they'll credit you back (even though that can be a little annoying if it happens a lot).
The data integrity of direct lines ranging from entry level employees to c-level suite and ownership is amazing, and far more comprehensive than any other provider we've seen in this industry. We have been able to have many good conversations with decision makers and develop substantial business reaching these contacts when we wouldn't have likely had that opportunity leaving a voicemail or being stopped by a gatekeeper who isn't willing to connect you / deliver a message when they say they would.

  • Increased efficiency for resources - drastically cut down the time spent researching or calling for contact information
  • Faster lead conversion - aided us in reaching decision makers fast, and cut out the typical middlemen needed to relay messages to them.
Zoominfo had the most comprehensive database of direct lines available, where the competition rarely had more than email available attached to the main line for a specific company. In their software, you also find great background information on companies you are prospecting to including recent publications or online news about them, allowing you to have a greater understanding of their organization and identify areas where you can be a value added partner or solutions provider rather than just a company selling them something.
We use reports within zoominfo to generate call lists, basically a compilation of the data gathered to make calling more efficient and easier for our inside sales and business development resources. They are pretty primitive in nature and sometimes redundant when they are appending the same info into our CRM to track activity there, but some prefer it and think it's a little more sleep appearance wise so we dont judge! I'm sure there are features in their reports we miss out on not utilizing, but we're pretty happy with the reporting by the other providers and our crm that we use.

Our Sales and Marketing Teams use ZoomInfo for qualifying leads in the sales process. This allows us to verify information given to us via white paper downloads and other reports we are involved with.

We also use Zoominfo to find additional contacts and information when working with large companies. This is extremely useful to our executive team and customer success team.

  • Ability to update all fields in Salesforce from one click. Currently each field must be selected individually with a lag-time between each one as the browser refreshes. (12/17/2015 - this is still an issue)
We did a head to head comparison with Data.com and determined that Zoominfo had better data 75% of the time. For that reason, we went with Zoominfo even though Data.com is fully integrated (native) inside Salesforce.

In the past 2 years, we've been approached by Data.com more than 5 times and we still choose Zoominfo.

  • Without zoom info, some leads would never have been converted. Folks often fill out landing pages without correcting mistakes. A phone number can be off by one number. Zoominfo allows us to find these mistakes and reach out to potential customers who are engaged with our materials.
  • Our ability to find missing contact info from industry lists is incredible with "Enhance". Had to put an ROI on this, but we use zoominfo on nearly every deal we win.
Data.com - Zoominfo had better info 75% of the time
Lexis-Nexis - Zoominfo had more up-to-date info that we need (even though Lexis-Nexis has current articles, we don't really need that)
We learned that Zoominfo is actually the primary data source for Lexis-Nexis and have since dropped our Lexis-Nexis account. This has saved us further expense for redundant info.

Our COO is in charge of our Sales/Marketing/Biz Dev department. All 8 of us use ZoomInfo Pro within Salesforce to verify and obtain information. Our marketing and biz dev teams generate lead lists through new functionality in ZoomInfo. We also upload tradeshow lists to append data to the minimal info most trade shows provide.

As Salesforce Admin, I am the only person who supports our instance of ZoomInfo Pro. After initial setup, there is almost no technical support required. Mostly, I manage our teams use of 'credits' (credits are purchased in blocks and used to obtain information on contacts 1 credit=info for 1 unique person). I also manage lead list generation and any mass uploading or mass requests for appending data to existing contacts. Our team is free to append data on a one on one basis in Salesforce.

  • New features are about to be released that automate the lead list generation. Perhaps the coolest feature is the ability to suppress existing contacts in your database.
  • I'm excited to try one new feature in which you upload your lost opportunities and won opportunities and receive intelligence about what types of companies you tend to win business from versus those you tend to lose. This feature is already available and I can't wait to try it.
Zoominfo is crucial to our sales process. Primarily we use Zoominfo to check data that people give us from form submissions, whether through our website or a partner. Since people don't always want to fill out all the forms, sometimes they use "xjuosidjfoas" as their phone number or title. We could assume that this means the person does not want to do business with us, but that is not always the case. We have found that people just hate filling out forms. Zoominfo allows us to bridge the gap.
