  • Software has great functionality and very user friendly/intuitive
Cons
  • Support is severely lacking. When you have issues, it takes a lot of time and effort to get them resolved.
FinancialForce has the same robust capabilities with billing and deferred revenue, revenue recognition and that is the piece that drives us . Any software can do payables. Deferred revenue and billing are critical. FinancialForce out of the box integration with Salesforce.com is very attractive to us. Right now licenses to NetSuite are cost prohibitive in order to give to sales and account managers. Sales people and account managers would benefit from seeing data in NetSuite, e.g. billing, invoices etc. With FinancialForce, they can see all data in Salesforce.com without requiring licenses to FinancialForce. The second advantage of integration is closed orders flow and setting up contacts in NetSuite independent of Salesforce.com. Today this is a manual data entry process which takes 5-10 mins per order for existing customer, 10-15 minutes for a new customer as need to set-up the customer within NetSuite. I don’t know about the relative pricing for Financial Force, though I perceive the overall pricing would be cheaper because of access to data for account executives and account managers. Another potential benefit is international support relative to the NetSuite Enterprise edition that we are on. To get the international capabilities with NetSuite, we’d need to upgrade to OneWorld which is quite a bit more expensive. You need international user support. For us, it would be a brand new implementation and cost $50-60k. It would not treated as an upgrade. The go forward license model wasn’t all that different for current functionality, but were looking at added functionality. If international is a big priority, the scale is more tipped towards FinancialForce. International is handled using data from the same tables. NetSuite tables are currently different to Salesforce.com opportunities, and may show up differently due to foreign exchange rates e.g. $101k vs. $100k. This leads to foreign exchange reconciliation issues. Even if we had one OneWorld, we would still have this issue. However, the lack of SSAE 16 compliance was the factor that really stopped us from switching to FinancialForce. Because it is an early stage product, there was some items around billing, revenue that were less robust, but with our in-house Salesforce.com expertise, our IT team felt they could customize Salesforce/FinancialForce quite easily. We don’t have NetSuite expertise in-house. There would be synergy in our IT organization to having one platform. I think Financial Force will get there very quickly and then I think it will be difficult. NetSuitehas remained closed. There are not a lot of good consultants who work with it. By contrast, everybody knows Salesforce.com.

We use it to create and manage field service work orders from sale to fulfillment, as well as house the status of our network of digital devices in doctors offices.

The most important record type we use are the transaction, and transaction lines, and repair item record. We also use a custom record type heavily, which is represents Our digital devices at a location. We use these records to understand our inventory, and progress In sales objectives.
  • Custom Sales Order creation
  • Batch processing of orders
  • Flexibility to create custom record types for specific use cases
Cons
  • Better native field service functionality without use of 3rd party
  • Excess modules and templates that are not relevant to every customer
  • Ether open source API connectivity & community for pipeline creation
It is the source of truth for most of our business, and allows us to reference one data input in multiple places. It is appropriate for organizations who embrace change and are ready to reimagine better ways to automate manual spreadsheet processes. It is less appropriate for organizations who have not yet fully built out / accounted for all ends of their operational process, because that is the first step to a successful NetSuite build.

NetSuite ERP - Customer Review

I use NetSuite ERP to create invoices and make customer payments. When first utilizing NetSuite ERP, our goal was to make a seamless process for creating invoices. We typically generate 40-115 invoices weekly and moving to NetSuite ERP has allowed for a more cohesive workflow of data.
  • Easy to Apply Customer Payments
  • Historical Data
  • Invoice Creation
Cons
  • Rate limitations
  • Record types - The sales order is the parent record and fulfillments are a pass through
The Accounts Receivable process from creating invoices to making payments for the most part is an easy to follow process. We run into issues when we have multiple invoices and multiple fulfillments for the same week. If we have to make changes to an invoice that is not the latest invoice, we have to change dates on the sales order to reflect correctly on the invoice because the dates pull from the sales order and not the fulfillment. This causes delays in productivity/efficiency within our department.

I use NetSuite to help clients accept payments. Versapay NetSuite Payments allows clients to accept ACH and Credit Cards. The solution is embedded into NS and allows for payment acceptance on Sales Orders, Deposits, Invoices and Cash Sales. It is also integrated into SuiteCommerce InStore, SuiteCommerce Advanced and E-Commerce.
  • Customizations
  • Workflow Management
  • Integrations
  • Role Management
Cons
  • UI for handling large data sets
NetSuite is great for growing organizations that needs to manage their financials. It is particularly great for managing multiple subsidiaries and divisions. Segments allow for easy slide and dice of reporting data for easy analysis. The application is highly customizable to suit any business need.

NetSuite is used across both of our subsidiaries for Customer Support and Success, Professional Services, Education Services, Implementation Services, Sales and Finance. It allows us to have near a 360 degree view of the customer. Alerts are set up to allow account owners and executives to see trends and updates on at-risk customers.
  • Automation, sharing and collection of data about the customer experience all in one place.
  • The cloud option allows you to access your customer data wherever you may be. We can see the data when at our user's conference or at another tax conference. We can see the data on one customer at a holistic view when talking to a user or the primary contact.
  • It is very configurable to allow you to capture data of concern for you and automate reporting.
Cons
  • Analytics on notes are almost impossible and so much is hidden in the notes. The reports have some features while others are available in searches - and reports are difficult while searches are easy.
  • While there are more data centers since the purchase by Oracle, the downtime has increased. They really need to work on the communication plan during outages.
NetSuite is great for the midsize business. You can look at the holistic view: sales; finance; support; education; professional services. Integration with other vendors can become costly, so try to use configuration within the system by your team rather than with their Professional Services teams and other vendors - less interaction required with NetSuite support team is required then too.
