Quickbase

Salesforce is really the only platform that stacks up to Quickbase. However the cost is astronomical in comparison.

QuickBase is the only solution available to me that I know of.

Quickbase is a reliable solution that is relatively easy to begin using immediately.

Most of our work was previously done in Microsoft Word and Excel. We've also used GoogleDrive and DropBox for syncing information. QuickBase is a huge improvement upon these because of the security, the multiple user capabilities, as well as the ability to keep institutional records which can be passed on to future staff. Personally, I've also used Filemaker and Access, and QuickBase is a much more intuitive product for someone with no background in database development or management.

AppSheet is great for turning a spreadsheet into a function app on the go, but not for manipulating and viewing data in any other format than the one you set. Microsoft Access is only available on computers; I needed something I could access on the go from my phone or tablet. Having QuickBase be web hosted is excellent for my needs.

Overall, Quickbase provides us the best overall balance of functionality, customization, speed of development, and price. There are platforms which have more features, platforms which are less expensive, and platforms which offer native interaction with other systems more readily. However, in trying out alternatives we didn't find any which had the right balance of all these needs as well as Quickbase.

QuickBase is not as powerful as Salesforce.com but a better value for us today, given the challenge we have in getting sales people to enter the information we need in a timely fashion.

We evaluated products 6 years ago when we chose QuickBase, and have not looked back. QuickBase had the most straightforward approach and was the straight line to be able to get a handle on our costs. We have learned along the way that it is capable of much more, and we have expanded our use.

Smartsheet is nowhere near as capable as Quickbase in some areas, but it also costs much, much less.

Very limited experience here so can't say much.

We are looking into Smartsheet, it provides similar capabilities and at a fraction of the cost. Projects can be managed and notifications sent.

I have not used other products like QuickBase.

Other data bases seem to be designed so you get what you get. Not customizable nor tailorable to your specific needs.

Quickbase provided the level of customization and functionality at an attainable price. There were other teams within the company using Quickbase which made the license acquisition easier. The ease of implementation and management, with the recommendation of other, existing user groups was the true selling point. We were able to get up and running without additional consulting costs.

Faster to deploy that SQL server. Also eliminates the need to create a large infrastructure for backups and redundancy - especially in a global environment.

Ease of use

We looked at a handful of exiting fire-specific tools. The one thing that QuickBase did was allow us to bring multiple tools together into a common tool and make the tool specific to our needs.

I have not experienced any other products that require a subscription.

Salesforce is more difficult to development in, however, it is more powerful. I would recommend Salesforce to enterprise level clients that can afford its high price tag. QuickBase is great for smaller shops and businesses not tracking more than ten thousand projects at a time.

I was not involved with the selection of QuickBase or have experience with any other low-code platforms.

QuickBase is not robust like Excel, but we see that QuickBase can develop more functionality if they want to.

We looked at Basecamp and about 10 other systems and settled on QB but this was 8-9 years ago. Recently we've looked at things like Mircrosoft Project and SharePoint -- but those are expensive and overkill for what we need. But Quickbase is not meeting all of our needs. We need help figuring out where that sweet spot is and if QB can get us there.

When we compared QuickBase and Zoho Creator, QuickBase had features that met that our IT security requirements that Zoho Creator did not.

We used Excel for years. At least this is a data base and on line. We want and have to use the cloud to communicate with many employees.
