We also looked at Ring Central. The implementation team and what Fuze had to offer. We researched Thinking Phones/Fuze and they appeared to have the best fix for our needs. We meeting with Fuze and the Sales team the personality and knowing there product was important to us. Also, they was will to negotiation on different items.

The only company I have used previously that I can speak to is Birch. We were using them when I first got hired and their systems did not work so well from a support standpoint. I would constantly be stuck on hold, sometimes for an hour, waiting for the next available representative. I had to sit on the phone with the support team and wait for them to enter the information needed for new users. Fuze makes that experience much easier with being able to setup users myself and their online portal to interact with the support team.

I inherited Fuze and am making best efforts to work with it, but it's a challenge. I've used Skype and other unified communication platforms in the past and I've found these more reliable and intuitive.

We chose Fuze over the other vendors based on the dependability of the system, excellent customer service record, and the company's continued focus on mobile technology. Their datacenter redundancy provided the fail-over capabilities we needed in our VoIP provider. The ability of the system to be completely hosted and function well on our existing infrastructure without the need for a large investment also aided in our decision.

The implementation was much easier and SFB did not have Canadian integration with telco providers at the time we were rolling this out. We were also on-premise SFB which made things more complicated and required much more resources and building out for reliability across all offices. We had sour experience with Mitel so it was an obvious choice not to choose them.

With Fuze it is actually a cloud based unified communication platform that is designed to empower all business communications. While on the other hand Skype is a software application whose text, voice, and video tools make it simple to communicate with each other. So whenever there is some issue IT doesn't need to go to that person's desk to solve the problem if any. Also as Fuze is a cloud based platform, it is way cheaper to implement as compared to Skype that requires a heavy investment. Fuze is economical.

WebEx seems to be a top contender against Fuze, but because it's more meeting based than for just individual calls we decided to disregard it as a solution as a replacement for our traditional phone system. Skype for Business on the other hand is also good and has the features we need, but it was too expensive.

Although Avaya offers some cloud-based solutions, they didn't have the features we were looking for in the price-range we were willing to pay. ShoreTel has great features and great pricing, but we would be heavily reliant on hardware at each location or a higher level of network dependence to reach the servers, Cisco was only used at one of our locations and the price and features weren't inline with what we were looking for. In all cases Fuze really hit the sweet-spot for being incredibly feature-rich, easy to deploy anywhere, no hardware needed, works across all our platforms, mobile connected in every way.

Cisco is a much better product for reliability and support, however, it requires far more resources in-house to support the platform. Fuze, however, requires very few internal resources to support a large number of employees.

Although Skype and GoToMeeting are great products in their own right, I feel that Fuze has a more professional look and is more intuitive to use and navigate than other products. I feel that Fuze is more suited for business purposes and seems less like an instant messenger.

Fuze won on reporting flexibility and disaster recovery and business continuity features. For reporting, they provide granularity that I haven't seen on other platforms and data for us to create our own. Their base reports are highly visual and boardroom ready. For disaster recovery and business continuity, they provide the ability to automatically failover to another circuit without calls dropping or interrupting the user experience and their mobile client provides another layer should all physical circuits be down.

Fuze still has work to do with the desktop and how it communicates with the preferred device, and this is where ShoreTel and RingCentral have the upper hand, but we have already seen improvements and they are dedicated to matching this functionality. Said another way, Fuze listens to their customers and acts in a timely manner. Updates and improvements are implemented throughout the year and during my 3 years with Fuze, I have seen these updates at least once per quarter and they almost always include features and improvements from customer requests.

CallManager requires servers, Voice routers, independent PBX providers, SIP providers and admins who know how to manage all of that. Fuze alleviates the need for Cisco VOIP and telecommunications experts and simplifies and consolidates every site onto a single hosted platform where the only devices we have to worry about are our phones. It includes support as well so users can engage Fuze support directly for call flow changes, or support for lines or anything else in the system. Cisco charges extra for this, but it is bundled into the Fuze per-line cost.
