If your company is looking to engage their learners in a very positive way, Cornerstone is the way to go. They offer up a wide variety of learning opportunities to end users, and make it so easy to use. We have yet to come across a scenario where cornerstone is inappropriate for us!

Mass rollouts of training for compliance are very easy using the learning assignment tool, and the dynamic feature allows new users to be added as soon as they're put in the system. Tracking completions is simple due to the dashboard functionality which allows line managers to track their direct reports with easy to read charts. HOWEVER, the dashboards do not update automatically when opened which can often lead to confusion from managers!
We have a demand for interactive workbooks as part of management training programmes, which involves users currently filling out paper workbooks. Cornerstone appears to have no workable solution to this in it's current form as it doesn't allow for that level of interactivity in programmes.

Cornerstone has some very rigid logic built in, such as not being able to edit certain aspects of a requisition once a requisition has been created or once an applicant has applied. It is very time-consuming to create a whole new requisition when a change needs to be made, rather than Cornerstone allowing us to edit the fields we would like.

It's a solid enterprise learning management system that can handle lots of training for lots of users. It's great for delivering online training and for assigning and managing classroom training. It will also manage the availability of rooms, instructors, and facilities, which is a great feature. There's a steep learning curve, so it makes the most sense as a long term investment. It's not ideal for a short term training need.

Cornerstone is great for when you have a large employee base and you want to assign them training. It makes it very easy with the LAT and reports are easy to set up and review. Not so great if you are an employee size of 15.

Tracking online learning completion for compliance or other reasons is easy within Cornerstone. Performance reviews are easy to set up and manage from the system as well. Searching for training can sometimes be difficult. Users do not know what types of subjects are available and can be confused as to how they can find a course.

Cornerstone is great for reporting. The reporting capability allows you to report on multiple fields and with a great level of granularity. There are some minor issues with the current reporting that will be easily solved by the new version. You just have to make sure that the users' information you give to Cornerstone is the right one and you have all your custom fields in their system. If that is not the case, reporting might prove difficult.

I was assigned a rep who set up monthly touch-base calls and he answered any questions I had about the product. This was very helpful, all my questions were resolved right then, and if he didn't know I had a response before the next meeting.

On the other hand, after that time frame passed I no longer had the direct line of communication. I had to either sign up for an available office hour or open a ticket. They resolved my issue, just not as fast.

Great for self-registration and withdrawal of instructor-led training sessions. Great reporting and tracking of training and managing transcripts. Cornerstone OnDemand is most useful for assigning training to all employees, like various compliance trainings.

Cornerstone is a great learning management tool. I feel that it can still make improvements and spend some time with performance. Performance is increasingly becoming a hot topic in HR. Performance feeds into retention, engagement, production, and compensation. It would be great if the same amount of attention that is put into learning is put into the performance. Cornerstone is great for being leaders in what is cutting edge. If you could apply that same mindset for performance, that would be amazing!

Cornerstone started as an LMS and it far exceeds the other modules. It can be used as an LMS alone or as a Learning Suite which provides access to Development Plans and Observation Checklists which are traditionally housed in Performance.

Cornerstone is ideal for an organization that wants to use eLearning as a training delivery method. It has a wide variety of options to deliver content and report to managers. It is ideal for organizations that can dedicate at least one, if not more, employees to administering the LMS, it is a full-time job. This LMS would not be good for organizations that are looking for a quick fix, or a method to track training.

Cornerstone OnDemand is exceptional in integrating content with partners like LinkedIn Learning. It is a globally secure product, with numerous languages - a novice admin can take this product to new markets and locations. We love the ability to transform from a classical LMS to an LXP - for any of its challenges, you receive 10 better features.

Cornerstone is a great product if you are looking to integrate and manage your processes all on one platform. We chose to go with Cornerstone due to the fact it was flexible when creating processes and workflows. Cornerstone might not be the best fit for you if you are wanting that unified platform, but recruiting is a huge priority for you. The recruiting platform has made improvements, but still has a way to go.

Cornerstone provides the ability to fully customize their system to customer needs. This is an amazing feature if the company can provide adequate resources. Smaller companies, who don't have the availability to hire a specialist to maintain those custom features, definitely struggle to utilize all the various capabilities that Cornerstone can provide.

We use Cornerstone for learning, which is its forte. I really do have few complaints.
My one critique: They often release new features as BETA or "Early Adopter" to give admins a chance to implement, test, and provide feedback. It's great that CSOD wants to get new features out to market, but sometimes they are slow to implement updates based on feedback, which makes these exciting new features less than usable for some periods of time. I do believe they really try, and obviously this feedback varies on the complexity of the new feature. At the same time, there are many enhancements and upgrades that are needed in certain areas of the system that they are slow to work on (i.e. their Test UI and UX from both the admin and end-user perspectives) -- improvements that are constantly brought up in the user community, but which CSOD has decided to not prioritize. It can make the users of those features feel like they have been put on the back burner, as there isn't a lot of transparency as to why certain priorities are placed above others (improving existing functions versus implementing brand new features), but that is how new business is attracted I guess, by providing shiny new features that you can sell to the new people.
Their user community is great for asking questions that don't need immediate responses, and for providing feedback on new features. Implementation with them is also a breeze.

If you want to transform the application journey and the candidate experience, Cornerstone is a great choice and we've certainly benefited by implementing the Recruiting Suite. Application numbers are significantly up, feedback from candidates is all positive, and the onboarding completion rates are at a record high.
However, if you are looking to transform your internal processes and introduce efficiencies to existing practices, Cornerstone may not fully deliver. We are finding that often we are taking 2 steps forward and 1 step back. As stated previously, most functionality is good, but with some more flexibility and investment/development for seasonal/bulk 'entry level' recruitment it could be a really great product, and I've no doubt that it would help you to realize the savings you are seeking.

Improved hiring efficiency.
LuxairGroup has successfully simplified and slimmed down all HR administration, with faster approvals and immediate launch of new jobs. Pre-screening was previously the most time-consuming part of recruitment but has now been reduced by a third, enabling onboarding to be completed on time and helping the business achieve its KPIs.
