Reviews
(126-150 of 676)Email marketing with customer service better than receiving actual mail in the mailbox :)
- Really good segmentation.
- Nice visual to plan your funnels.
- The scaling pricing is fine and fair, not only because the more people you have, the more you get charged, but also because it forces you to have a quality list, not numbers for the sake of numbers.
- Ok, I like Active Campaign, but the email editor is horrendous: zero usability, lots of editing mistakes, lots of difficulties just to put one paragraph after another. Lots to be improved there.
Cost Effective and User Friendly
- User friendly
- Great customer support.
- Lots of templates to choose from.
- Sales function could improve.
- Creating automation and tagging can be a little confusing.
- Lead scoring could improve as well.
ActiveCampaign Is Fantastic - Highly Recommend To Beginners And The Experienced Alike!
- Easy to use.
- Effective communication With agents.
- Tutorials to show how to set everything up.
- Easy for beginners to grasp.
- Integration with Clickfunnels requires learning how to code.
- Agents aren't always available during UK working hours for live chat.
Does what I need it to do
- I like the visual drag and drop dashboard for creating and maintaining autoresponders.
- AC integrates with my other systems and platforms such as LeadPages, StealthSeminar, WordPress.
- There is list segmenting so I can filter in or out whom I want to receive specific campaigns.
- AC should come up with a mobile interface. It's sorely missing.
- I would love it if I could send an email to my distribution lists directly from Outlook desktop and/or mobile.
Easy, affordable and reliable
- Well structured automations
- Easy to understand interface
- A lot of options, even in the free version.
- Problems with deliverability.
- Premium prices are quite high.
- Tracking can be complicated.
Big Learning Curve but also Big Dividends
- ActiveCampaign goes beyond email services like MailChimp in that you can build logic trees which trigger email communications to customers rather than handling them on an individual basis. Allows you to send info to interested parties at the moment they're most wanting it.
- With ActiveCampaign, there's quite a bit of learning up front to really understand how to use its services to full effect.
- The tutorial videos are led by a guy who clearly hates his life.
- The automation builder is fairly easy to use and makes following up really easy.
- The CRM and Deals module makes it easy for our salesteam to track progress of our different sales opportunities.
- It's easy to track behavior of our leads (like clicking on links in emails, visiting our site, etc).
- The automations builder is a bit clunky sometimes and requires a lot of effort to do seemingly easy tasks.
- The CRM is a little weak for our sales team. They'd like a tighter integration into Gmail as well as a more robust task management system.
- The reporting could use a lot of work. There really aren't' any visual reports to show me funnel info and conversion rates of my leads from one step to the next. This would make it easier to improve our marketing efforts.
Active Campaign Review
- Ease of loading targets
- Easy to use templates
- Easy to track targets who click on links/images within email
- Some of the automation features need to be easier to use. When creating a long automation the linking time span or action in between messages is limited.
- Linking targets to automation can sometimes be challenging
- Could use some upgrades to the reports, such as page visit time spent, how many links clicked on, repeat visits etc.
So glad we decided to switch to ActiveCampaign
- ActiveCampaign can handle large email lists
- ActiveCampaign helps to keep the emails lists organized
- The ActiveCampaign automation is a must to keep the email list healthy and engaged
- We think the workflow, from creating a list until designing the automation, should be a little more intuitive
- First-time users must watch quick tutorials to move quickly inside the application if they want to better understand the system
- Linking automations together
- Having access to a secondary login for my assistant
- Forms that trigger stuff for me with ease
- Lead scoring lets me see who is excited about me
- They cut down customer success without warning and then also increased the tax fees that I was never charged before. They didnt do a good job explaining this.
- Its slow in my browser which feels like somethin that should have been fixed ages ago.
- I wish they were more transparent abou the free 30 min calls I used to get. It seems like they changed a lot in the last year
- for an email automation company, they have added me to automations that were not correct like new user ones. Or I got prospecting ones when i was already paying.
- Automations are logical, easy to understand, and build
- Tagging is very easy
- Importing data and data clean up is simple
- Segmentation is not easy to work with
- Reports are too basic, not easy to craft meaningful reports
- Campaigns (basically emails) need expanded functionality, or just remove them and force them to be used in automations (even if just simple)
- Your new interface for email templates is clunky, and does not accommodate migration from older templates that have been crafted
- Your knowledge center is difficult to navigate and often hard to work with (separate platform with login). Consider a portal format as an upgrade path
- Mail Marketing
- Marketing Automation
- CRM
- Not 100% friendly
- Contact search limitations
- Lack of visual reports
Easy to use email automation with a few minor inconveniences
- Email automations
- Email campaigns
- Contact tagging
- Form building
- I wish that I could use my own IP and a third party tool like SendGrid to manage deliverability
- Some of the contact search capabilities are lacking
- Ability to add additional users for a small fee would be preferable to needing to upgrade for a substantial monthly additional fee
Intuitive, simple and effective mail marketing with ActiveCampaign
- Active Campaign is great for managing automatic emails
- Active Campaign is well built for tag management
- Active Campaign does not duplicate the number of users if they are subscribed to more than one list, avoiding the increase of costs as happens with other suppliers
- Providing the landing page function in a reduced form also in the lite plan would be an interesting plus
- Providing the Custom audience function on Facebook also in the lite plan would be an interesting plus
- Integrating a webinar feature could be an interesting plus

I should have ditched ConvertKit and MailChimp for ActiveCampaign!
- With ActiveCampaign, I am able to build automated engagement workflows for my clients that are targeted to where they are in my unique client experience. We all want targeted and timely information, and ActiveCampaign makes this easy for me to provide to my customers.
- With ActiveCampaign, I can integrate directly with MemberVault, within which I have built my client portal and all my offers. No double entering information or having to set up a third-party integration to zap my data from MemberVault to ActiveCampaign.
- With ActiveCampaign's scoring abilities, it was very easy to extend the gamification within my client portal to things my clients do outside of the client portal. Not only can I reward clients for completing modules and lessons, but I can also reward them for reading emails and checking out my social media sites.
- Every time I am creating a workflow, there comes a time when I will copy an action or set of actions and the system will give me the spinning wheel of death--until I refresh the screen. This is disruptive and happens so often that I see it as a part of using ActiveCampaign. That is not good, and if another system could do what ActiveCampaign does without this issue, I would leave ActiveCampaign. That is how frustrating this time suck is.
- I wish that there were a way to input a field as text into another field so that whenever one field is updated, another field's data changes accordingly. For instance, if a client books an appointment with me for Monday and I want ActiveCampaign to input that date plus two days in another field.
- I wish there was a way to make sales pages and forms pretty. These are so boxy and clunky and there is no modernization to draw the eye.
A great email marketing tool for the smart marketer
- Integration with Wordpress: I have a form integrated with my website to collect leads. Works great and has for years.
- Integration with ClickFunnels: I have Active Campaign integrated with ClickFunnels. I use it for website pop-ups as well as other lead gen purposes.
- Automated marketing: The visual automation creator is a game changer. It's helped me automate my marketing to new leads.
- I wish there were more detailed reporting options available at the "plus" level.
- It can be hard to find things you're looking for at times. I had a hard time finding the reports recently and had to jump on live chat to find them. Pretty intuitive most of the time but sometimes not so much.
If you're looking for an email marketing platform, I really can't think of anywhere where it's not appropriate. I've used Mailchimp, Vertical Response and others over the years and I'm sticking with ActiveCampaign.

Overall best option for online marketers!
As a company that develops & markets digital information products, email is our primary means of customer communication and the central component for all marketing activities. ActiveCampaign enables us to rapidly automate our lead generation and marketing funnels, and customer & prospect segmentation, easier and with greater capability than our previous solution.
- Easy, quick, hassle-free import of our lists from our previous email management company.
- Excellent integration to virtually all of our marketing channels and apps.
- Rapid development & rollout of marketing funnel automations.
- Training and support that we aspire to - and I used to consider ours to be the Gold Standard that others should aspire to!
- The interface is a little counter-intuitive with some features hard to find.
- Lists & segments are a little kludgey setup-wise.
- Reporting is also a little counter-intuitive.
Easy to use, highly customizable
- Integration - ActiveCampaign easily integrates into many other software solutions. It is a simple process to make it happen.
- Automation - ActiveCampaign has easy to use templates to help automate your business, or you can custom build them for yourself.
- Dashboard - Most of the information I need is available at a glance on the home screen.
- ActiveCampaign for my purposes is not a standalone software. It needs to linking to other solutions
- ActiveCampaign is not the cheapest email management software
Active Campaign is a winner for organization, making more sales, and keeping in contact with clients
- Email Automation
- Campaign Creation
- CRM Organization
- Calendar functionality. Why do I have to save the date first then the time when making an appointment?
- 2 way email communication for Deals.
- Better reporting capabilities. Yes you have reports but i'd like to customize the information i need without having to spend a boat load more for an upgrade
Great for solopreneurs
- Sign-up forms
- Lists to organize your audience
- Funnels
- The automations can be hard and time consuming to set up
Great B2b Email Marketing Platform
- Easy To Use Interface
- GREAT Email Creation Platform
- Quality Reporting
- Successful Email Drip Campaigns
- Could use Better Integration into my CRM (Nimble)
- Pop-Up (creation) Should be more customizable
I'm a fan of ActiveCampaign.
- Marketing Automation
- CRMs
- Integrations with other software
- The gmail extension puts every spammer into Activecampaign as a Contact. I had to delete the AC Chrome extension.
Not so great for a call center. Pipedrive or Salesforce is better for a call center.
Great Infusionsoft replacement... unless you just enjoy complicated and expensive software
I use it for automated marketing campaigns, newsletters, sales and the ease-of-use is terrific. I didn't have to spend six weeks in a bootcamp to understand the basic functionality of it and how to apply it. I'm the primary user, but a few of my employees use it for occasional things and find it user-friendly.
It saved me money, saved me time, and enabled me to match the features of Infusionsoft, for the most part. And the customer service is terrific. If I ever run into an issue or have a question, I am able to get help almost immediately, which is HUGE.
In a crowded market, ActiveCampaign distinguishes itself, and I recommend at least putting in on your list to research if you're looking for a new marketing automation platform.
- Great customer service
- Reasonable cost
- Very easy to use
- Wide range of features
- E-Commerce and payment processing feature
- More robust web chat functionality
- No landing pages
