Reviews
(176-200 of 676)ActiveCampaign is a great visual tool for campaigns
- Customer service.
- Organizational tool.
- Better delivery - so emails don't end up in spam.
- Better pricing options for larger email lists.
- More fonts available to use.
- Quickly create workflows to automate campaign messages.
- Easily integrate with my other tools to keep my contact list updated.
- Wizard-like templates that help me create technical automations that work.
- More powerful mobile app.
- Automations are easy to build.
- Highly customizeable.
- Integrates with a lot of other platforms.
- Reporting is fairly basic.
Great for sequences and automation/easy to use
- Email automation
- Segregating lists
- Tagging
- Connecting it via Zapier to our website, etc.
- More email design templates.
- Loading and selecting images for email templates can take a little while.
- Some real stories of people using the product for medium and small size businesses.
- I would like to see how creative industries like music use Active Campaign.
Outstanding B2C Email Platform
- Smooth/professional looking communications.
- Good templates = plug & play.
- Good support & training modules.
- A bit higher price point than competitors.
- Drag & drop features within email composition can rarely be a bit clunky.
- Sometimes experience a font resizing issue in the signature line.
- Email automation - Automated email marketing to potential customers, follow up with existing customers, and automated messaging to outside parties.
- Flow building - This software allows companies to build simple or complicated sequences in a visual builder so that you can see exactly where people are in the sequence of messages.
- CRM - Customer relationship data. Maintaining data points across a user journey (tagging a UTM source, current activity. If you have someone - and want to know where they are in the journey, there's a way to find that data and label a profile with that).
- Integrations - ActiveCampaign integrates with almost everything. Seamlessly. You can trigger behaviors in other apps through Zapier, or import data from other software you use. It's a very easy experience to integrate with others.
- Customer support - Every team member I've encountered has been exceptionally helpful. They are probably the bar for customer support in the tech industry, to be honest.
- Email systems for the long-haul (and for sequences and emails that are expected to bring in a lot of $$$). Email marketing should be 30-50% of revenue for most businesses. It's THE platform that we recommend for coaches and other businesses to help them earn 6 & 7 figures from email. You can track A LOT of data through this software as a platform, which makes it a great candidate for businesses who want to grow and visualize where their customers are in the overall purchase process, as well as maintaining them as multiple purchases customers.
- User education - I really appreciate the company's effort with many help articles, study halls in cities, and reps for accounts. It does take a bit to get up to date on what functionality the platform has and in applying it.
- Migration from Mailchimp - Mailchimp has just been disabled as a CRM with access to Shopify. So a slew of customers are looking for new solutions. Technically Mailchimp is probably a competitor to ActiveCampaign as an ESP (email service provider), but if that's the case, wouldn't you want to make it easier to get data from that platform/migrate from that ESP?
- Clarity in communication & expectation setting - (ex: possibilities if you do/don't have a rep) - I really appreciate the support that is provided by the platform - but my team was helping clients migrate to the platform for some time before we learned about extra services we had available to us (ex: partner programs, migration services) and then IF you had a rep, what expectations looked like for the relationship, things that you didn't have access to if you did have a rep.
- Error prevention in sequences and flows - Building flows can be really tricky - make one spelling mistake on a tag, and you can really get yourself into trouble (and it takes a while to clean up the mess). New users need to put serious thought into what they're building and the data that they're trying to track.
- Simplification of the system - I appreciate the system for what it is, but it's a lot more complicated than other ESP's. The capabilities are great - it's broad and flexible and can handle big builds, but it's not as user intuitive as Mailchimp for new users or out of the box.
- That has a minimum of 200 contacts (or that are planning on generating more very soon).
- That has marketing and lead generation in place to grow their network.
- That needs automated email marketing (automated messages sent out to potential, existing customers).
- That wants to visualize their data (be able to see where potential customers are coming from.
- That wants to integrate their email marketing with all other aspects of their business.
- If you are brand new to email marketing, need something super visual and super easy to use... ActiveCampaign may not be the best place to learn. It's mid-tech (some understanding needed) in order to execute these. The learning curve might prevent you from sending out emails altogether. Don't be intimidated, but if you're brand new, plan on asking for a bit of help.
- If you're planning on building for the long-haul, then I would recommend this platform - just don't do the emails yourself. Hire this out to consultants or email marketers.
Wondrous Email Campaign Tool for Sales, Support and Marketing
We changed our mind to get an alternative from one of the popular tools which they said hub of a marketing campaign. It was 100% the right decision to move over to ActiveCampaign. I love the simplicity of the UI as well as their easy-to-use features like Newsletter campaigns, contact management, deal tracking and the one I like most, the automation setup to follow up with leads.
- Event-Triggered Email: It's way more easy to set up event-triggered email. It sends the email to your subscriber for the action they took. I love that part.
- API Integration: Their documentation is very well done and they have functional examples that you can use as a base for your work.
- Subscriber Management: We're product based SaaS company which is one of the leading social media marketing tools. It's incredible to have ActiveCampaign in our workflow to manage our subscribers. We can see each single detail right from when they visited our website to subscribe to us.
- The way I use I don't have anything to dislike, but I have some feature requests and enhancement request I'm thinking to submit to their support team.
- I wish there were some extra customisation available in their forms, would be great.
- Little things aren't possible in their reports. For example, we can't get the information on how some parts of our contact list are performing.
- Building email automations that are sent after a purchase has been wonderful and it has been a fairly easy thing to learn how to set up these automations.
- Being able to use filters in email automations has also been great. Sometimes I have email content that I only want to send to people who either have or have not done something previously (e.g. have purchased something or not, clicked a certain link or not). ActiveCampaign makes this easy to do.
- I also like the ability to easily tag subscribers with additional information on opt-in forms, e.g. which lead magnet they opted in for.
- There may be a learning curve in learning to use all the great functions of ActiveCampaign. So for a non-techy type of person it may take a bit time to familiarize with the functions.
- ActiveCampaign is robust against spam contacts; since we switched from Infusionsoft our spam-bot problem disappeared overnight.
- ActiveCampaign is comparatively easy to use and set up; it's more intuitive and visual than Infusionsoft.
- The customer support is bang on, the agents (shout out to Logan!) are really great at teaching you how to use the software and understanding how it works so that you're empowered to do it yourself.
- A migration service from other software platforms would be great. I had to rebuild my automations from scratch which took me a long time to fit into my already hectic schedule.
It seems to be better built in terms of integrity, so far we haven't bombarded by spam bots with this software, which was a problem we had with IS.
It's also just easier to use and more visual when you're building automations to handle your lead nurture, you'll save time by having your well-thought out and easy to build automation sequences to take the mental load out of remembering to send emails and follow-ups, this will do it for you and you can also include reminders for more human interactions like reminders to call a lead and what stage they are at.
I really love the tagging feature. Right now I'm working with a client for a series of live events. I'm using the tagging feature to create separate automations to go out and send people follow ups after each event. So, I can set up the automations when they register, auto-tag each sign up, then remind people of the event at distinct times and follow up to get feedback to quickly improve for the next week. All on autopilot! I'm looking like a rockstar lately.
The support is really good. They answer any question and have helped me figure out some cool solutions to make my life way easier.
- Robust email automation
- Great visual editors for both campaigns and automation chains
- Patient, knowledgeable staff
- I feel that ActiveCampaign can get a bit laggy, not as snappy as I would like
- Sometimes the support queue can get very long
Definitely a great choice for a newbie!
- Very user friendly and easy to use.
- It looks professional.
- The support is great!
- Some more customization would be nice.
- It's hard to insert images at times.
- The videos show up dark.
I should have ditched ConvertKit and MailChimp for ActiveCampaign!
- With ActiveCampaign, I am able to build automated engagement workflows for my clients that are targeted to where they are in my unique client experience. We all want targeted and timely information, and ActiveCampaign makes this easy for me to provide to my customers.
- With ActiveCampaign, I can integrate directly with MemberVault, within which I have built my client portal and all my offers. No double entering information or having to set up a third-party integration to zap my data from MemberVault to ActiveCampaign.
- With ActiveCampaign's scoring abilities, it was very easy to extend the gamification within my client portal to things my clients do outside of the client portal. Not only can I reward clients for completing modules and lessons, but I can also reward them for reading emails and checking out my social media sites.
- Every time I am creating a workflow, there comes a time when I will copy an action or set of actions and the system will give me the spinning wheel of death--until I refresh the screen. This is disruptive and happens so often that I see it as a part of using ActiveCampaign. That is not good, and if another system could do what ActiveCampaign does without this issue, I would leave ActiveCampaign. That is how frustrating this time suck is.
- I wish that there were a way to input a field as text into another field so that whenever one field is updated, another field's data changes accordingly. For instance, if a client books an appointment with me for Monday and I want ActiveCampaign to input that date plus two days in another field.
- I wish there was a way to make sales pages and forms pretty. These are so boxy and clunky and there is no modernization to draw the eye.
ActiveCampaign Review

A great email marketing tool for the smart marketer
- Integration with Wordpress: I have a form integrated with my website to collect leads. Works great and has for years.
- Integration with ClickFunnels: I have Active Campaign integrated with ClickFunnels. I use it for website pop-ups as well as other lead gen purposes.
- Automated marketing: The visual automation creator is a game changer. It's helped me automate my marketing to new leads.
- I wish there were more detailed reporting options available at the "plus" level.
- It can be hard to find things you're looking for at times. I had a hard time finding the reports recently and had to jump on live chat to find them. Pretty intuitive most of the time but sometimes not so much.
If you're looking for an email marketing platform, I really can't think of anywhere where it's not appropriate. I've used Mailchimp, Vertical Response and others over the years and I'm sticking with ActiveCampaign.
- Mail Marketing
- Marketing Automation
- CRM
- Not 100% friendly
- Contact search limitations
- Lack of visual reports
Easy to use email automation with a few minor inconveniences
- Email automations
- Email campaigns
- Contact tagging
- Form building
- I wish that I could use my own IP and a third party tool like SendGrid to manage deliverability
- Some of the contact search capabilities are lacking
- Ability to add additional users for a small fee would be preferable to needing to upgrade for a substantial monthly additional fee
Intuitive, simple and effective mail marketing with ActiveCampaign
- Active Campaign is great for managing automatic emails
- Active Campaign is well built for tag management
- Active Campaign does not duplicate the number of users if they are subscribed to more than one list, avoiding the increase of costs as happens with other suppliers
- Providing the landing page function in a reduced form also in the lite plan would be an interesting plus
- Providing the Custom audience function on Facebook also in the lite plan would be an interesting plus
- Integrating a webinar feature could be an interesting plus
Advanced automation at a very low price
- Their HTML email builder is easy to use.
- Their automation workflows have tons of options to send custom messages to your audience
- It has advanced features at a much lower price than other vendors
- I wish they had a landing page builder included (like other tools do)
- Their forms are not very customizable
Take control of your automated campaigns today!
- ActiveCampaign is really easy to use unlike some of the other automation software available out there. The automated campaigns are very flexible and you can manage contact forms, emails, and users all in one system.
- For the features it offers, it's the cheapest solution out there (as far as I am aware). ActiveCampaign offers a different range of pricing and even has a reseller program.
- ActiveCampaign is still a relatively small and new company. As such, there are some features missing. For example, there is currently no way to change the design of any internal emails or notifications sent. This means if you are a reseller, any notifications your clients get from the system will be stuck with the blue color scheme.
- Another big feature missing if the support for SSL on custom domains. Again, if you are a reseller and want your clients to access their system on a custom subdomain, the connection won't be secure unless you use ActiveCampaigns generated domain.
Easy to use, highly customizable
- Integration - ActiveCampaign easily integrates into many other software solutions. It is a simple process to make it happen.
- Automation - ActiveCampaign has easy to use templates to help automate your business, or you can custom build them for yourself.
- Dashboard - Most of the information I need is available at a glance on the home screen.
- ActiveCampaign for my purposes is not a standalone software. It needs to linking to other solutions
- ActiveCampaign is not the cheapest email management software
Active Campaign is a winner for organization, making more sales, and keeping in contact with clients
- Email Automation
- Campaign Creation
- CRM Organization
- Calendar functionality. Why do I have to save the date first then the time when making an appointment?
- 2 way email communication for Deals.
- Better reporting capabilities. Yes you have reports but i'd like to customize the information i need without having to spend a boat load more for an upgrade
Great for solopreneurs
- Sign-up forms
- Lists to organize your audience
- Funnels
- The automations can be hard and time consuming to set up
Great B2b Email Marketing Platform
- Easy To Use Interface
- GREAT Email Creation Platform
- Quality Reporting
- Successful Email Drip Campaigns
- Could use Better Integration into my CRM (Nimble)
- Pop-Up (creation) Should be more customizable
I'm a fan of ActiveCampaign.
- Marketing Automation
- CRMs
- Integrations with other software
- The gmail extension puts every spammer into Activecampaign as a Contact. I had to delete the AC Chrome extension.
Not so great for a call center. Pipedrive or Salesforce is better for a call center.
- Tracking the customer behavior across multiple marketing channels
- Adapting and aligning our marketing strategies to the interests of the customer
- Keeping records of our customer history in a single database
- A drip functionality can help avoid spam filters especially when sending campaigns to an extremely large list.
- A blank image box may appear below the image when I use the drag and drop option to add an image
