We use ADP Workforce Now across the entire company for Payroll, Time and Attendance, HR, Benefits, Talent Acquisition, Performance, and Analytics. It is a great tool to have our HR Professionals, Managers, and Teammates use to keep track of all aspects of the Payroll and HR arena. It allows for even flow of a teammates "Life Cycle" with the company, from Hire, Retention, to Termination.
  • The payroll process
  • HR information storage/database
  • No true "Training" or Train the Trainer programs for large companies
  • Complex tasks to perform simple functions like creating benefits plans and imported enrollments
ADP Workforce Now is well suited for the following scenarios:
1. A small company with a dedicated practitioner (only one) who is in control of all access and data entry.
2. A medium company with two or three dedicated practitioners who work closely together and have specific tasks they work on in the system.
3. A large company that has several practitioners but one dedicated administrator who gives access.

Not well suited for the following scenarios:
1. A company that is growing and does not have a dedicated practitioner or administrator
2. A company that does not want to combine different aspects of the programs used and wants to have multiple systems to do different tasks.

ADP Workforce Now is being used by the entire organization; we utilize the ATS function, payroll, benefits, learning and development, and performance management modules. ADP Workforce Now has consolidated our HR and payroll functions to create a seamless candidate onboarding and employee services experience. It also allows us to use one platform that employees can use for the ESS, which empowers them to get information through the system as opposed to through HR.
  • It is easily customized to fit the needs of any industry or company that has specific payroll and HR needs.
  • It is an easy system to navigate for both administrators and users.
  • A more robust learning and development library and curriculum.
  • Reporting--building reports can be difficult.
I recommend ADP Workforce Now for a company that is growing or is medium/large, that is looking to have all HR/payroll services in-house, where both HR and finance, along with managers, can use the system to manage administrative tasks as well as design for strategic people goals such as performance management and workforce planning.

I don't think ADP Workforce Now is appropriate for small companies that are only looking for a simple payroll system.

We use ADP Workforce Now across the entire enterprise (Retail, Manufacturing, Corporate, Distribution, Fleet, Sales). We use all ADP platforms (Performance Management, Payroll, Recruiting, I-9, Benefits, Security Management, Workflow Approvals - Headcount, Time & Attendance). This is used at 94 locations and counting.
  • Payroll: Reduces the need for manual paper files (still need to print some things because of control audits)
  • Leveraging the cloud-based services--Policies and Employee Documents: This has limited the need for paper personnel files. It can separate different categories and limit access to managers or HR practitioners. The use of electronic signatures is a great feature that is used every day.
  • Recruitment: The basic features are great but from a candidate experience. This isn't the best ATS.
  • The electronic I-9 Management module is not capable to sync old data from previous carrier if you switched.
I have a love/hate relationship with ADP Workforce Now, but overall I have maintained it to continue to leverage or add to the modules that we use for HR. ADP Marketplace is a great resource to leverage other companies to role feeds, broker feeds, and recognition programs.

We have used ADP Workforce Now for over 10 years in our organization. I feel like, in more recent years, ADP has enhanced many of their products and the care we receive from our account manager meets our current needs. I do feel that pulling reports could be made a little easier, but other than that, I have no issues and am pleased with ADP Workforce Now.
  • Excellent response time and knowledge from our Account Manager
  • Easy to process payroll
  • Making reports user-friendly, meaning just making quick selections of information that you need to pull the reports quickly. There is not always a report that really gets all the information you want to have on it.
  • Difficult to get the employment verification to work. Not very easy to navigate. Gave up using the free service offered by ADP.
ADP Workforce Now is user-friendly for employee access. It is also easy to use when processing payroll. My suggestion would be to make report-pulling easier and the process of selecting the information you want much simpler.

ADP Workforce Now is being used as a timekeeping piece and for benefits, along with open enrollment.
  • Timekeeping
  • Benefits
  • More employee/user-friendly
  • Open enrollment more tailored to the company
For open enrollment ADP Workforce Now is great, but it is hard to follow what employees have started and made requests for. Make the request easier to see exactly what the employee is requesting (such as a beneficiary change).

ADP is used by our organization in the United States. Within ADP Workforce Now we use HR Management, Time and Attendance, Payroll and Tax, and Benefit Administration.
  • Processing payroll is relatively easy.
  • The self-service feature is great for employees.
  • ADP Service Center-- Account managers are hard to reach, and they don't follow up on current issues. This has been an issue with multiple account managers.
  • They experience a lot of issues with connectivity; ADP goes down a lot.
A lot of the functionality that ADP Workforce Now brings is very useful and relatively easy to navigate. It is user-friendly for employees to use. It is nice to have a system that has almost everything built into it and it is constantly being updated. That is also a negative aspect, though, because different areas in ADP Workforce Now will have issues after updates have been completed. It is very difficult to reach Account Managers in a timely manner. That is the biggest downfall for me.

We were using ADP Workforce Now to manage our payroll and HR. We were supposed to also use it for benefits but after six months of implementation, that part was never setup.
  • ADP Compliance - uploading government notices
  • Different portions are disconnected - Employee profiles/pay profiles/time and attendance do not connect and you have to change the information in multiple places
  • Time and attendance tracking is cumbersome
ADP Workforce Now is good in concept because it looks like it's merging multiple systems. What is confusing is that it is actually multiple systems under one portal that do not talk to each other, so you have to update employee data changes in multiple places. There are too many options I assume to fit "all companies" but because there are so many extra options, choices, and data points it makes it hard to find what you need.

ADP Workforce now is used by myself, Payroll Manager, our Office Manager and our controller. It addresses many problems such as not having to handle payroll, taxes, ACA compliance and all related duties in-house. It saves us a great deal of time and hassle and allows us to focus on other tasks related to our business.
  • ACA compliance.
  • Payroll processing.
  • Help Center Communication.
  • Limited payroll features.
ADP Workforce now is very well equipped to handle Payroll processing on a weekly basis. ADP Workforce now is also a great source to handle all of our ACA needs to keep in compliance with regulations for companies over 50 employees. ADP Workforce now does lack some important features such as the ability to automate payroll batches for a specific week.

I recently implemented ADP WFN for our entire organization. We are utilizing it for HRIS, payroll, time and attendance, and performance management.
  • The implementation process was so smooth! The consultants were easy to work with, very accessible and easily worked with me with any issues we encountered.
  • Uploading employee data from previous system was so easy!
  • Since we are still new to the system, there is nothing that I have issue with just yet.
I would absolutely recommend ADP WFN to other companies and HR associates. From the sales process, to implementation, to running the first couple of payrolls, ADP has exceeded my expectations! I like that all of our employees information is in one place. Employees understand that they can log in and view their time, request time off, change their personal information and more. They appreciate that there is an app that they can put on their phone.

We use it for Human Resources Information and Payroll. It's used mainly by HR and Finance, but all employees have access to update their personal information, open enrollment, and access pay and annual statements. HR uses it for data reporting and maintenance, some benefits administration automation, setting up benefits self-service. Finance for payroll and related taxes, annual statements, etc.
  • Comprehensive employee data storage.
  • Quick payroll delivery.
  • Departments within ADP don't communicate well - so problems can bounce around and take forever to resolve.
  • They are quick to sell-in carrier connections and management reports, but setup is laborious and slow.
For payroll and recordkeeping, it does the job well. But in my experience the sales pitches promise more than the product delivers.

We currently use ADP Workforce Now to manage our personnel records, time and attendance, benefits and payroll. It provides an all-inclusive HRIS service that suits our business needs so that we can function and serve successfully as an HR Department while remaining compliant. From the perspective of my position, this system helps me to perform my job responsibilities such as reporting which is important for many reasons including audits and data integrity, general benefits administration like enrollments and qualifying life events and larger projects like Annual Open Enrollment and vendor interfaces.
  • Custom fields are integral for every business and WFN provides that ability which is very useful when it comes to organization and operations.
  • Open Enrollment has been a struggle because WFN often doesn't have the features required to cover the functionality we need for our benefit packages, but that being said, we have managed to pull off Open Enrollment using some "work-arounds" and enforcing mild audits.
I think the WFN reporting tool has all of the features and functionality that are required to meet the needs of a medium sized company. If you're a beginner, this tool is quite accommodating, but also offers the ability to create more complex reports for the needs and skill set of more advanced requests by a skilled user. However, I don't feel that WFN has the all the of the same abilities when it comes to companies with complex benefit packages or specific Annual Open Enrollment needs.

ADP Workforce Now is being used across the whole organization for time recording purposes. Certain employees also use the ADP-generated reports for monthly reporting needs.
  • ADP has several built-in reports that can be modified to meet your needs.
  • ADP manages all tax reporting and W2 distribution. Our company received the physical copies of the 2019 W2 by the second week of January 2020.
  • Our company has an account manager that we directly work with. If the account manager is out of the office, at times we cannot be helped immediately because ADP requires you to work solely with the manager. Although a back-up is assigned, I personally have never been able to reach the back-up in these times.
  • We have experienced some G/L reporting issues in which ADP could not tailor the G/L to the needs of our accounting software.
ADP is very functional and appropriate for employees who charge to multiple grants. Employees can find and select different grants by simply changing the department on their time card to the respective one required. Once the department is changed, the employee can filter through and find the appropriate grant code(s).

We use it across our entire organization as an employee info database, time and attendance, payroll, and benefits management. We also use it for compliance reasons with the ACA and as an online on-boarding tool to reduce paperwork and new hire orientation time.
  • Payroll administration.
  • Time and attendance.
  • Performance management.
  • Customer service.
If you have enough employees that you need access to report running and data analysis, ADP is a great tool for that. Their report running function is extremely user friendly and allows you to compile info in a snap.

ADP was selected to replace three systems we were using for payroll. This added a self-service option for our employees and allowed our supervisors access to their employees' information. This has ended barriers and issues we faced daily. Implementation was decent, but a lot of information was unable to be moved into the new system. Almost 6 months later, we are still manually moving things over and using two systems for HRCM.
  • Self-service.
  • Payroll.
  • Implementation/transfer of needed information.
  • Better process for transferring historical data.

We use ADP Workforce Now as our core HR system as well as for payroll for our entire company. It maintains an employee system of record for HR and helps us process payroll. The core HR system is also used to connect to our other HR platforms, such as our learning management and performance/career development system, our recognition system, and our accounting system.
  • Payroll - really the market leader in providing payroll services and they do this well.
  • Support & Testing - their support team, unfortunately, leaves a lot to be desired. There can be long wait times on the phone and it can be difficult to get the answers you need. There is no test environment to test functionality before rolling it out in the live site. This is a huge problem when exploring new features.
  • Integrations to other systems can be difficult unless it's a previously established integration.
Well suited for an entry-level HR system or for payroll only.

We use ADP for our basic payroll processing for all employees. When we have hourly employees it is also used to track their vacation and sick time off. ADP also handles all our tax reporting needs in regards to employment taxes.
  • Customer service.
  • Ease in processing basic payroll.
  • Submitting help tickets by email - not always going through.
  • Being able to display more than 4 weeks of reports at a time.
Since I have been using ADP it has worked well for our smaller employee base. The one issue we had was receiving incomplete instructions on adding a car allowance to one employee, as it was the first time we had done it. That was done through email, and it caused a w-2 to be incorrect. But when we called in for help the person was very knowledgeable and made sure it was done correctly.

ADP Workforce Now (WFN) is used at our company as our HRIS and Payroll system and it is used company wide. All employees utilize the system to review pay statements, etc. as well as enroll and manage their benefits. We utilize ADP's recruitment and performance management tools as well. It handles all of our administrative needs in an easy-to-use manner.
  • Payroll Processing - It works flawlessly and integrates well with internal accounting systems.
  • HRIS System - ADP's offering is strong and the features such as Employee Document Library are great!
  • Menu Access - ADP is complicated to use in the sense that there are many places in the system you need to go just to complete one task.
  • Account Representative as Support - Our Account Representative is very difficult to reach when we need urgent assistance.
ADP WFN is a robust offering but it is best suited for larger clients (500+) due to ADP's support structure. The larger your account is the more support service available - for smaller clients this is not a great solution. ADP is the market champion when it comes to payroll processing and benefits - highly recommended for those systems.

We use the HR and Payroll module every day. We also use this as our company intranet to house all of our documents and daily information sheets.
  • Payroll.
  • Benefits.
  • On boarding could use more information and guided steps - as an admin, it would be helpful to see the new hire perspective.
  • Compensation dashboard - wish this had more features to just insert annual increases and send out notices to staff through this dashboard.
Payroll is a great feature and the benefits/carrier connection.

We use WFN across the entire organization. We currently utilize the Timekeeping, Payroll, and Time Off systems.
  • Robust systems with a lot of capabilities.
  • Useful resources to research questions.
  • Lack of a practitioner dashboard.
  • Not an easy process to easily upload changes.
ADP WFN has a good base for Payroll and Time Off, but it lacks a lot of useful features that we feel we could use. Some of the features seem "clunky" and not as user friendly as they could be for how robust of a system it is.

It is being used by all of our employees for payroll purposes. We hire all new hires through it and process their paperwork through it as well. It's my HR tracking center and we can pull reports for job costing and also transfer into our accounting system.
  • User friendly website/app - anyone can use it in just about any language.
  • Payroll - our payroll process dropped time in all areas and it helps knowing we stay in compliance with how we pay, taxes being paid, and so forth.
  • Link the amount of time on a job to the actual cost of the worker - earnings and hours should go together better.
It helps us keep track of people in our organization better.

Specifically only the payroll and HR departments use it. We do give reports out of ADP to others within the company to help with their jobs as well. It is a payroll engine that allows us to pay our employees on a mass scale. When working correctly, it should allow us (payroll) to do our jobs efficiently. This includes General Ledger balancing, paying employees, auto-deducting garnishments, etc.
  • I love that ADP WFN allows you to compare past payrolls with current payrolls. It helps a lot to know that we are on track for about what's "normal" between payrolls.
  • Their customer support can be really good at times. Sometimes our representative isn't available and we will have to call in and I always worry getting someone random means my problem won't be addressed appropriately but I'm wrong every time. Usually, they even teach me a little tidbit I didn't know about the system as well.
  • Building reports in ADP is actually way more difficult than originally thought. Like I stated, it's a great idea. However the execution can get messy. I usually have to mess around with a report a lot and try to pull different fields before I get "the one" I was truly wanting. There are fields that are named the same but are found in different areas of ADP that don't always seem to work the same as each other.
  • As an example of other issues, if I try to pull data like all earnings and hours for a pay period, it works unless I have also posted an additional calendar in the same pay period. It will not pull data from my "main" regularly scheduled calendar so data is missing. This is one example, but there seem to be many quirks of the ADP reporting.
  • I believe if there was some sort of "advanced" teaching that could be done on the subject I'd be very happy to take it. There is a learning center but all of the tutorials are for the most basic things which are honestly pretty easy to figure out. I know there is a lot of functionality within ADP and it would be nice to know what every little thing is.
  • For a company like mine, Auto Pays are not an option with ADP. We do not use earnings codes like "regular" or "OT" because so many of our employees fall into special categories like being salaried but exempt from FLSA or salaried and nonexempt. As a result, because ADP doesn't allow you to set up Auto Pays for an earnings code of your choice, it's just not an option at all. Meaning even for folks who get paid salary, we have to hand import them. This also means that we get errors every pay period stating that "auto pays have been canceled" even though we've never had the option to use them in the first place.
  • Because we have weekly and biweekly folks in the same company code, we run into a lot of strange issues. Every weekly payroll, I get errors on my "Unused Deduction" report because the checking account deduction codes are not being used for my biweekly folks. Obviously, because they are not being paid that week. I just have to sift through the errors to try and find the relevant information I would need to look for.
I truly feel there are a lot of tools at ADP WFN's disposal. I really wish I had more training on the system because I know there is a lot of functionality there. Unfortunately a lot of the things that can be done are just not as intuitive as I would hope. I think the main reason I wouldn't recommend ADP WFN is because of how hard our implementation has been. I feel if there is a roadblock that can be hit, we've hit it and continually do so. We are new and have only been with ADP for 4 months, so I am hoping as time goes on and I get used to the quirks I won't feel as badly as I do. But it also feels a little disappointing that I can be 4 months in and still not feel entirely comfortable with their system yet.

It's used by Payroll and Human Resources for payroll, payroll taxes, insurances and paid time off.
  • It's easy to use.
  • Has very few problems.
  • Making/running reports should be easier to do.
  • Some things should be easier to find.

Payroll has been made much easier to use.

The HR piece still leaves a lot to be desired.
