I use ActiveCampaign to host my email list, email then Monday - Friday and handle all my automations. It's being used by me as I'm currently a solo operation. It allows me to set up my own funnels and automations for customers coming in meaning I can make money with very little effort after the initial work is done.
  • Easy to use.
  • Great automation options.
  • Compatible with everything I need.
  • The mobile app could be clearer.
  • Open rates and CTR aren't visible on the main page.
  • The site on mobile isn't formatted very well.
ActiveCampaign is great for list building, daily campaigns and continuous automation. It's not so good for using on your mobile/cell due to poor mobile site formatting and an under developed app. However, I believe the app is in beta and I assume it will improve later down the line. At least I hope so.

We use ActiveCampaign for email campaigns like one-off announcements and newsletters, as well as for automation tied to landing pages and other opt-ins. Our marketing department uses the software primarily. We are a small business and this is our primary tool for marketing and email automation.
  • User interface.
  • Designing campaigns.
  • Managing contacts.
  • Managing lists and list segments.
  • Editing/changing format of draft campaigns could be easier.
  • 3rd party integrations could be more robust.
If you're not a professional or trained marketer and just need a simple, easy to use software interface for building automations and email campaigns, this is a great tool. Saves a lot of time and does not take too much time to learn the interface and basic functionality.

We use the tool for our mass emails and for our email automations. It allows us to create email campaigns and set them to run without much work from us once running.
  • Ease of loading targets
  • Easy to use templates
  • Easy to track targets who click on links/images within email
  • Some of the automation features need to be easier to use. When creating a long automation the linking time span or action in between messages is limited.
  • Linking targets to automation can sometimes be challenging
  • Could use some upgrades to the reports, such as page visit time spent, how many links clicked on, repeat visits etc.
This is a great tool for anyone looking to create email campaigns, either one-off emails or mass emails. It makes it easy to set up and to track your progress and success.

ActiveCampaign allows my agency to automate email communications with clients that address their needs at different stages of their relationship with business, identify strong leads, and maintain solid contact over time.
  • ActiveCampaign goes beyond email services like MailChimp in that you can build logic trees which trigger email communications to customers rather than handling them on an individual basis. Allows you to send info to interested parties at the moment they're most wanting it.
  • With ActiveCampaign, there's quite a bit of learning up front to really understand how to use its services to full effect.
  • The tutorial videos are led by a guy who clearly hates his life.
ActiveCampaign excels at sending automated emails to customers who've shown interest in your business--whether by signing up for some list or freebie, visiting your online store and perhaps abandoning a shopping cart, or just for thank you or confirmation emails--all triggered by actions you determine and sent out to speak to them at the right time.

ActiveCampaign helps my clients organize their contacts and use automation to send follow up based on the contacts' interactions with the website and sales team. We use the tagging feature to segment groups like prospects, customers, and other meaningful segmentation. We use the automation to send drip-style emails to our prospects and customers and stay in touch with them.
  • The automation builder is fairly easy to use and makes following up really easy.
  • The CRM and Deals module makes it easy for our salesteam to track progress of our different sales opportunities.
  • It's easy to track behavior of our leads (like clicking on links in emails, visiting our site, etc).
  • The automations builder is a bit clunky sometimes and requires a lot of effort to do seemingly easy tasks.
  • The CRM is a little weak for our sales team. They'd like a tighter integration into Gmail as well as a more robust task management system.
  • The reporting could use a lot of work. There really aren't' any visual reports to show me funnel info and conversion rates of my leads from one step to the next. This would make it easier to improve our marketing efforts.
ActiveCcampaign is a great start for online businesses looking to get started with marketing automation. For businesses who are already well-equipped and understand marketing automation, they might get a bit frustrated with its lack of features that more robust systems have.

We are using ActiveCampaign in a specific location within a nationwide business. We are using it for marketing purposes, as well as onboarding, deadline countdowns, and information based emails. ActiveCampaign helps us to better serve our current customers and market to new customers with their automation options and one-off emails within the CRM.
  • Marketing Automation
  • Click/Link Tracking
  • Email Integration with Gmail via a Chrome extension
  • One-to-one email automation (all automations have unsubscribe / impersonal req'd fields)
  • Sometimes the Chrome plugin does not work properly.
  • The email builder could use improvement on the UX end.
ActiveCampaign works well for onboarding, deadline countdowns, informational emails, and marketing. I think that ActiveCampaign could improve it's one-to-one sales email options to really be an all in one solution with it's CRM.

Active Campaign let us contact all our customers in one go and organize and automatize all the messages and communications for months. However, if you want to be able to use it as a pro and get all of this tool, you have to spend time learning how to make things happen and it has a learning curve that is not suitable for everybody. In general, very useful!
  • Automatic messages
  • Contact thousands of costumers at the same time.
  • Create funnels
  • Has to be more simple to use it in my opinion.
  • Not predictive
  • Expensive
If you are starting a company, then this is your tool. However, when you start becoming bigger and bigger then you have to be very careful because it becomes expensive. You may use other options. In my case, I had to stop upgrading my account because my conversion was not very good, and having more subscribers in my lists was inconvenient for my business.

We decided to swap from another Email Marketing platform to ActiveCampaign in order to get more tools to track our Email Marketing activity and always improve it to give our prospects and clients the right information at the right time during their buying journey. We were looking for a solution to be easily implemented with our CRM software (Salesforce), and with ActiveCampaign we found the right tool.
  • Scoring Point.
  • Automation linked to the actions made by customers and prospects.
  • Salesforce Integration.
  • Implementation with the Email Template Design Software.
  • User Experience Design.
  • Bulk Tag of contacts.
  • Reports dashboard.
ActiveCampaign is well suited in a company like ours that want to bring Email Marketing to our clients and prospect to a more structured level - than the simple newsletter - integrating the process with software already adopted by the company (as CRM Salesforce). Also, the pricing played an important role in the choosing of this platform, compared with other solutions.

We use ActiveCampaign to keep our current and potential clients organized and ensure their information is updated, as well as sending marketing campagins.
  • Customer Support
  • Customizable actions
  • Keeping contacts well organized
  • Tags seem to randomly malfunction when sending campaigns
ActiveCampaign is great for most of our daily operations, including marketing campaigns and keeping our contacts organized. However, occasionally, there is a small, unpredictable glitch that causes some headache. For example, there was an issue with a marketing campaign that only went to some of the desired contacts for no apparent reason, despite the necessary logic being in place. You have to learn how to predict what tends to go wrong and work around it, which once you know is fine, but it can cause a problem the first time or two it happens.

I use ActiveCampaign in my organization to create my newsletters and help me with creating an email list. ActiveCampaign is very focused on user experience so it wasn't difficult to get what I wanted. You can do everything you think about! I am going to use it as well with my online program to send emails with learndash automatically. It doesn't need me to do that so I am spending more time on creating content for example.
  • Helping you to get ready with their features
  • Doing webinars to learn more about marketing
  • Limitless features and configurations
  • Easy to implement with other plugins
  • The menu can be easier to use
  • Sometimes emails take a "long time" to be sent
  • I think it is a pretty expensive service, it could be cheaper
I use ActiveCampaign to automatically [send] my newsletter. But this is not the only thing! I can split my readers into 3 categories with tags (fitness - wellness - health) or add them to all of them depending on what they like to read. It adds a better user experience to my company!

We use ActiveCampaign for keeping customers up to date about new products/brands and monthly newsletters. Also we organize our opt-in lead campaigns through ActiveCampaign.
  • Useful e-mail templates.
  • Clear academy where we can find detailed videos'/trainings on how to set up emails campaigns, websites and drip campaigns for instance.
  • Various options to edit the email templates to our own branding.
  • Easy to upload & update contacts.
  • Easy to integrate with other apps like Salesforce and WooCommerce.
  • So far there is no possibility to refresh the nr of people that viewed a landing page, this is a pity since we often view the page ourselves during the launch to see if everything works live. These numbers however are no longer accurate in that way.
Useful and easy program to manage your contacts and set up e-mail automations to onboard new clients. Besides, it is easy to plan ahead and schedule email campaigns such as monthly newsletters. All content is easily traceable so a good analysis can be made of which campaigns perform better than others (& potentially why).

I have used ActiveCampaign for email campaigns with follow-up forms, automations from website-based forms flowing from ads or research, and generally managing mailing lists. The design flexibility of the forms and the emails allowed me to make a professional impression when contacting people or when they responded to an ad. The automations also worked very well, and were easy to monitor progress.
  • The graphic design is very good, especially fonts, colours and templates
  • Flexibility of design and functionality
  • Takes a little while to learn it, but generally user-friendly
  • Looks very professional but doesn't cost much to get started
  • There are masses of integrations for ActiveCampaign, and the ones I tried all worked well and didn't take long to figure out.
  • It took me a while to get to understand where to find things, and I used a free online course from a consultant who specialises in AC to help me get the foundations set up more easily. That said, there were lots of onboarding workshops, which were good. It just felt like it required a lot of different angles of learning to just get started.
  • The customer support took longer than other software to get back to me via email, though once I found the chat option for my most recent query, that was fast.
  • I've ended up switching to another programme where more software is more naturally integrated, and the AC equivalent is included in the price, along with many other types of software. However, design-wise, ActiveCampaign is much better.
  • I also had a problem with a form used on my WordPress website, which has a BuddyBoss platform - the colours on the form would be overridden by colour choices for the website, so they were hard to read (pink text on purple background instead of the gold text it was meant to be)
  • I couldn't always find the templates I was looking for or how to access them for automation-based emails. I think when I used it, there was a new type of template for newsletters that weren't available for automations, so I had to recreate it, which added time.
I think ActiveCampaign is very useful for setting up newsletters, forms, and automated responses that are nicely branded, with good functionality. It's also useful if you are starting small and want something both inexpensive to get started but also very scaleable as you grow. Do use the double security because I got a lot of spam through forms, even with a captcha.

I started to use ActiveCampaign as a lower-cost alternative to Infusionsoft (Keap). With a relatively broad scope of practice (Brain Health Coaching in 4 different niches - Weight Loss, Parenting, Business and Mental Health), I needed a way to tag my clients and sort them into different campaigns and automation as well as assign them to different deals depending on their interests and activity scores. ActiveCampaign has given me this ability for a very reasonable rate, and also has some easy-to use landing page options and product options. It works well with my websites and the email deliverability is great.
  • Tagging customers dependent on engagement and interests
  • Sending automations and email campaigns
  • Pulling it all together in one software
  • Having good training and support options
  • making it easier to navigate
  • making the site faster to load
  • making it easier to just send a quick email to a list...
  • making the support options more accessible and intuitive
For a serious business working in more than one area of business - or wanting to be able to sort customers based on behavior Not so much for a start-up coach that wants to get experience with emailing clients

ActiveCampaign is a very good web marketing tool for CRM and for automation marketing to send emails to several people at once. Contact management is simple and the creation of an email campaign is within reach for everyone. However, the software remains quite expensive I find.

ActiveCampaign is useful for improving the customer experience and for customer follow-up, but also for being present throughout the sales process and allowing the company to develop new prospects and leads through this software. We use ActiveCampaign in a variety of ways, from campaigns to automations as well as the site and forms. We use the program on an everyday basis and build out campaigns and automations often. The problem the ActiveCampaign addresses is to contact continuously with our contacts. It helps us to soft sell our product and brings news and information to our customers at different times.
  • Increasing ability in automations
  • Ease of use of campaigns
  • Sites are easy to put together
  • Themes can be improved

I use ActiveCampaign to integrate my customers' sales and communication channels, and as a layer to CRM, mainly in the further integration with emails. The ActiveCampaign tool has one counter itself to be able to meet the demand of my corporate clients without any problems. Either from the built-in tools or through API integrations.
  • Flexible
  • Easy to Automate
  • Corporate Capacity
  • Interface
  • Speed
  • Documentation
From small businesses to large corporations, Active Campaign for me is a tool that integrates three pillars for a good email marketing campaign: 1. Powerful segmentation 2. Ease of creating automation 3. Ability to manage leads in PipelinesAny company that is thinking of developing its communication skills in the email channel will definitely benefit from this tool. The interface could definitely be more polished, and it takes time to get used to it, but I've been using it for years without a problem. I recommend it.

ActiveCampaign is a pretty powerful system all in all but definitely requires that the user has some level of understanding how to use a CRM and light programming background. I have setup ActiveCampaign for a few of my clients over the years and there is a bit of a learning curve. It took several attempts to understand why certain were not working. The tutorials were lacking and made assumptions as to how people understand how to create various campaigns and workflows sequences. I would say it was nice that it had various templates for welcome sequences or follow up or abandoned cart. Also, in terms of cost it is better than Hubspot, more powerful in terms of the ability to embed code or add more functionality but all of that powerful comes at the cost of the users understanding of the platform. I would recommend ActiveCampaign to immediate to advanced users who really want to have the ability to create integrations with other software programs or systems - like tracking leads through Google Ads or some other advanced techniques.
  • Power programming tools
  • Integration tools
  • Various workflows templates
  • Creative email ideas
  • Poor tech support
  • Outdated tutorials
ActiveCampaign is best for experienced marketers or those who have an understanding of programming. If you have used workflows or used other programs like Constant Contact using ActiveCampaign will be a delight in terms of more robust tools and functionality. If you’re also trying to capture lost sales abandoned carts - using some of their technology can help identify any leaks in your sales funnel.

The main goal for our company is to increase our customer base. We use ActiveCampaign mainly to create email campaigns to introduce current customers to new products and warm leads to our company's portfolio. The great thing about ActiveCampaign is that it is very easy to track how many people opened the mailings, replied, and clicked on links. Also, it is very easy to perform an A/B test on each campaign. Besides, ActiveCampaign makes it easy to generate a good-looking email and landing page by providing various templates. One of the things that could however be improved is the integration with Salesforce. Currently, we are able to sync contacts between the two platforms but only to a limited extent. It would be great to be able to track SF emails with the same metrics we have for AC. Besides, it would be helpful if when we delete contacts in AC, they are deleted in SF automatically as well.
  • ActiveCampaign provides various templates to create a professional-looking email
  • ActiveCampaign makes it easy to create your own landing page
  • Clear overview of metrics for each email campaign
  • Deal overview gives a good impression of the sales funnels
  • Integration with Salesforce > automatically delete contacts in SF if they get deleted in AC
  • Offer an opportunity to resize images
  • Increase the "delete contacts limit" so that the contact list can be adjusted at all times
ActiveCampaign is perfect for creating email automations to inform current customers and track how many people open the emails and click links. However, ActiveCampaign is not appropriate to generate more leads or contact businesses from a database since contacts need to be opted-in before you can send an email through ActiveCampaign.

I use ActiveCampaign for email management, as a CRM and for lead generation through free tools that I offer via email campaigns and landing pages. Being a solopreneur and creator of an independent brand, it is extremely important that I have a touchpoint for my clients, leads, and referrals outside of social media. With ever-changing algorithms and moving targets, ActiveCampaign allows me to reach my audience without being reliant on Instagram or Facebook. The integration with Zapier makes my business logistics nearly seamless and customer support is always willing to help me with any integration issues.
  • Contact Management (tags, lists, merges)
  • Automated Campaigns
  • Zapier Integration
  • Sales Funnels
  • Campaign Creation
  • Templates
  • Template Functionality
  • Template & Email Formatting
  • One-Off Emails
I would recommend ActiveCampaign to anyone who describes themselves as 'tech-savvy.' It is well suited for anyone who is wanting a robust system and is willing to figure out how to create a process that works for them (versus having the process already built). It can take some time to figure out the integrations, so it would be helpful for anyone who has a tech background or someone to help them navigate. ActiveCampaign is not good for someone who wants simple, already designed template without add-ons.

We use ActiveCampaign to manage our workflows using the Deals functionality. It works great to keep our teams on track and make sure customer data is not missed or misplaced. Major missing feature, NO FILE ATTACHMENTS. But aside from that, it works great. We also use the Conversations functionality on our website which works great. And the most functional features: the sites and campaigns for keeping in touch with customers and capturing data work awesome.
  • Email campaigns
  • Intake forms
  • Automations
  • Attachments to deals: this is a major miss.
If you're looking for automation, AC is top of the game here. As a CRM, it's average. The Kanban Deals function is simple and effective, but the lack of file attachments may render it not appropriate for some users.

We use Active Campaign to send weekly newsletters about the products and programs we have coming up. We also use it to track recipients' interest in products by tracking clicks and finally we can communicate and follow-up with clients after purchase of one of our courses, retreats, or online study programs.
  • Click tracking
  • Automated tags
  • Interaction with Zapier
  • I'd like to be able to group content elements before saving it
Simply sending blast emails can be done on other platforms for less money, but if you want to get a real feel for what clients are interested in or if you have long complex multistep automatons, Active Campaign is great. I don't honestly think I have even learned the full power of the platform.

My organization uses ActiveCampaign to disseminate our content to all levels of our marketing channels. We use the program to onboard clients, to nurture leads, and to automate our review process. We also use the program FOR our clients in a multitude of ways from lead follow-up, lead nurture, and audience segmentation. The program is instrumental to our success and is vital to our company's lead flow.
  • They create well-organized automation templates.
  • They provide easy-to-implement documentation for new users.
  • They offer an excellent reseller program.
  • They give phenomenal customer service and support.
  • The way their automation templates are set up could use some better organization.
  • The SMS feature needs to employ a new sender. SMS doesn't always go through.
  • They could offer a better Chat option with their support team via the website's interface.
ActiveCampaign is well suited for pretty much any business that uses online marketing to generate new leads, to reach out to new or existing customers, or to create new sales via an online interface. It would not be well suited for use in a world where there was no internet.
