Reviews
(101-125 of 676)ActiveCampaign is one of the most flexible marketing automation platforms out there!
- Automation campaigns are excellent in ActiveCampaign. It allows granular control over what happens when to whom and how. You can create very complex automated campaigns to nurture leads at the right time with the right content.
- Ability to create custom pipelines is great as it allows us to cater to different sales processes that vary depending on customer type and/or different services, so we can track the right information in a flow that makes sense in specific situations.
- Sending 1-to-1 emails in CRM that are tracked so we know when contacts open emails.
- Chrome extension for Gmail is really useful to access contact data within emails in Gmail and being able to track emails sent in Gmail.
- You can't add a contact without an email address.
- Site tracking of visitors sometimes doesn't work, so when they submit a form their activity prior to form submission is lost.
- Sales/CRM reporting is very limited. Anyone coming from a proper CRM like Salesforce would find reporting unusable, especially sales teams.
- Email builder needs some work, it has certain limitations and doesn't allow custom designs to be editable in the builder.
- No Android app for CRM (suppose to be in the works as we were told).
Where I wouldn't recommend ActiveCampaign (at least not right now) is when a business has a sales team. The limited CRM functionality and poor reporting compared to dedicated CRMs would make it very difficult for a sales team to function, especially for a sales manager to get proper reporting to know how everyone is doing and where they are as a sales organization.
Great for day to day operations with the occasional glitch
- Customer Support
- Customizable actions
- Keeping contacts well organized
- Tags seem to randomly malfunction when sending campaigns
A very Good Solution to bring Email Marketing to a better level
- Scoring Point.
- Automation linked to the actions made by customers and prospects.
- Salesforce Integration.
- Implementation with the Email Template Design Software.
- User Experience Design.
- Bulk Tag of contacts.
- Reports dashboard.
ActiveCampaign: A Great Choice in the Big World of CRM
- Helping you to get ready with their features
- Doing webinars to learn more about marketing
- Limitless features and configurations
- Easy to implement with other plugins
- The menu can be easier to use
- Sometimes emails take a "long time" to be sent
- I think it is a pretty expensive service, it could be cheaper
ActiveCampaign is well worth the pricetag
- Automation is the major feature of ActiveCampaign. We can visually outline how every email is sent out and when.
- Having a reseller account lets us organize all of our client's account in one dashboard.
- Texting automation in addition to sending emails is time saving and efficient. We can have both texts and emails sent in one automation outline.
- I don't like how we currently have to log in to our account as a reseller. I wish there was an easier way to do this.
- Automation outlines can get very detailed and can be hard to see on one page. I wish there was a way to zoom out to see the entire outline on one page.
Great tool for beginners in email automation
- Easy to use.
- Good automation.
- Lots of designs to choose from.
- Not cheap.
- Problems with foreign credit cards.
An excellent experience for a marketing novice
- Marketing campaigns.
- Collect data securely from user.
- Organize data.
- Marketing automations.
- Campaign design.
- Fast messaging.
Packed with features for a great price!
- Contact's journey/interaction with our site and content.
- Reporting
- Customer support
- Reporting on spam reports.
- Speed of the web interface.
- The way you access some features are less than logical.
Quick thoughts from a new user
- Setting up automation is very easy and intuitive.
- The onboarding process and help from Active Campaign has been amazing and helped solve any issues I have had.
- Some of the personalization on automation requires too much input of information or assigning when it could be a simple client detail from the client card.
Great but not perfect!
It saves so much time in sending out marketing especially with the automation recipes, and nurturing prospects.
- Makes it easy to decide which automation to use when building my own sequence.
- Made it simple for me to set up a simple campaign for my client.
- Troubleshooting was fairly simple with the walk-through videos.
- More diverse templates.
- Stock image catalogue in-built.
- Could do with highlighting the best order for setting up campaigns, lists, etc. Sometimes a bit uncertain what to do first.
- It allows you to really customize your email marketing approach to make sure that the right people get the right content.
- It is a very good tool to also do your CRM.
- I love the potential of automation where you can have different funnels running at the same time. All customized to the specific prospect.
- I find navigating sometimes a bit cumbersome and I tend to open multiple windows as a result.
- It takes a bit of tweaking to receive notification about new subscribers. This is not as easy as turning something on or off if I recall correctly.
- I would love to see a bit more flexibility in the email editor. It is good but it could be better.
Great option if you are serious about your business
- Integrations, more specifically Zapier and WordPress.
- Templates : I love pre-made templates that can be customized.
- Lead gen distribution.
- Prices for smaller accounts.
- I would like to receive email reports of my account activity (daily, weekly, monthly basis)
- Dashboard design.
- Deleting inactive clients from my lists and keeping them out of my price accountability.
Better than most alternatives...
- WYSIWIG automations - Easy to map out branching flow logic and If/Then branches.
- Integrations - Can use API or built-ins to connect with other tools.
- Preview screen before sending - Nice to have a concise review before hitting Send.
- Email editor - Can't insert images in-line in a text block, which is absolutely maddening.
- Email editor's image tool itself is limited, and navigation is not intuitive (mostly hovering over graphic buttons and guessing what they might do).
- It's not always clear when to use segments vs. groups vs. tags.
- They insist on branding forms even on paid plans, which they didn't do in the past — If I'm paying $49+/month for a tool, I should be able to turn off the ActiveCampaign branding (I asked and was told I'd need to upgrade to the *next* level. Not cool).
The best solution for email marketing
- Easy to set up. One of the first things that you notice when you start using ActiveCampaign is how well-designed and intuitive the user interface is.
- Intuitive automation. You don't need to be an expert to build an automation.
- Affiliate friendly. I've never had problem adding affiliate link in my emails.
- Customizable forms.
- Customer service. The customer support must improve the response time, I had problem with billing and I waited days to have an answer.
- A mobile app would be great.
Few tweaks away from being the best in its class
- Easy to use
- A lot of features
- Friendly price
- email integration is flawed. Synchronising the email address with a deal does not bring only the relevant conversation between Sales Agent and Contact referring to a deal; all emails with the contact or with the sales agent are imported. So this feature is useless as it is wrongly implemented - you can not track the conversation and see what your contact and sales discussed so far. Also the feature does not bring the attachments of an email (if, for example, there was an offer or a brochure sent by one of your sales team, no one will be able to see it and pick up the sales process).
- Deals reporting needs improvement. reporting from deals is a bit confusing and not very friendly. There are some features, but so far they don't hold a lot of value and still we need to go through a lot of manual work to get some data. Some reports (e.g. funnel) show numbers and percentages, but you can not see who the contact was and explore the case-by-case issue (e.g. if there were 4 deals LOST in stage X, we need to see who the contacts were so Sales can explain case by case why the deal was lost)
- Customer service reply time needs optimization. It can be improved with better response time. If we open a case today regarding an issue or need assistance, getting a response after 3-4 days is not fast enough.
Good but needs improvement for CRM and deals - especially the reporting features.
Pleased With ActiveCampaign
- Email marketing
- Marketing Automation
- List segmentation
- User support
- Email campaign templates limited
- Pricing tiers could be more flexible
Solid Product, Good Price
- Easy to build automations that allow you to have highly segmented email tracks.
- Integrates directly with Salesforce for easy contact management.
- Intuitive user interface that makes it easy to navigate.
- A/B testing at the automation level for all plan levels.
- Better reporting interface.
- An easier way to take existing list members and add them to automation without having to tag them or create some kind of "trigger."
The reporting interface could use some improvement. All of the data is there but I often feel as though I have to pull several different Excel files and manually create the reports I need.
- Email marketing
- Designing marketing campaigns
- Competitive pricing
- CRM isn't robust enough for complex B2B sales.
- Better management of leads at scale.
ActiveCampaign - learner driver!
- Send broadcast emails to targeted users.
- Preview and testing before sending.
- Automations.
- Reporting.
- Email editor - Can't insert images in-line in a text block, which is absolutely maddening.
- Email editor's image tool itself is limited, and navigation is not intuitive (mostly hovering over graphic buttons and guessing what they might do).
The work horse for your email marketing creativity
- Automation
- Segmenting lists
- Integrates easily with other platforms
- Email editor
If you're more of a blogger who needs to write new email content daily, then the number of steps to get to the email editor is going to be a put off for you.
Easy and Intuitive, but Be Prepared to Add-On
- Easy and intuitive to use.
- Quick responsiveness from customer support.
- Simplicity for a prospect to understand.
- Form development was maybe a little too simple, may not look appealing to a prospect.
- Could be more functionality in scheduling/calendaring functions.
- Customer support was responsive, but sometimes the chat was unavailable or hard to find.
- Email Marketing - ActiveCampaign has an easy to use email marketing and email editing platform making it a cinch to create hand crafted emails with dynamic content, schedule, track and integrate with various analytic platforms.
- Marketing Automation - ActiveCampaigns marketing automation tool has been a life saver for our marketing and sales teams. Easily allowing us to create various automations to nurture and tag new leads and existing clients, with personalized content all while minimizing manual tasks and saving us tons of time.
- Lead Generation - ActiveCampaigns form builder easily allows us to create landing pages and link forms that will auto fill fields if the contact is already in the system. These forms allow us to nurture these leads and existing clients because each form can be added to a automation and various tasks and tags may be set automatically allow our teams to better understand what each client is specifically looking for.
- Improve the conversations iOS app - The iOS provided by ActiveCampaign allows our sales team to use the conversations add-on to instantly chat with new leads or existing clients on the various landing pages we have it enabled on. However, the app consistently crashes and since about 6 months ago, we have been unable to use it. The ActiveCampaign support team is aware of the issues and is working on a fix but at this time, the app is still plagued with problems.
- Add additional features for their lower packages such as deep data integrations and SMS marketing. While the lower packages offer many features by default, as a small business, adding on or upgrading packages for features such as the SMS sending is currently not in the budget. Having the SMS marketing feature in the the lower tier packages would, I think, be an amazing asset and help propel the ActiveCampaign platform further.
- Improve navigation of the custom HTML email editing section. The HTML editing section of the email marketing section on ActiveCampaign, while easy to use, can be a bit of a hassle to go back and edit various campaigns or easily change subject lines without having to work through multiples steps in order to do so.
ActiveCampaign is much better than Mailchimp
- Easy to use.
- Great automation options.
- Compatible with everything I need.
- The mobile app could be clearer.
- Open rates and CTR aren't visible on the main page.
- The site on mobile isn't formatted very well.
Great tool for email and marketing automation
- User interface.
- Designing campaigns.
- Managing contacts.
- Managing lists and list segments.
- Editing/changing format of draft campaigns could be easier.
- 3rd party integrations could be more robust.
Email marketing with customer service better than receiving actual mail in the mailbox :)
- Really good segmentation.
- Nice visual to plan your funnels.
- The scaling pricing is fine and fair, not only because the more people you have, the more you get charged, but also because it forces you to have a quality list, not numbers for the sake of numbers.
- Ok, I like Active Campaign, but the email editor is horrendous: zero usability, lots of editing mistakes, lots of difficulties just to put one paragraph after another. Lots to be improved there.
