My business uses Hootsuite for social analytics and management! I am the primary user and I use it 3 to 4 times a week.
  • Engagement analytics
  • AI inspiration
  • Suggested analytic metrics
  • LinkedIn tagging capabilities
  • Publishing issues
Great for beginner to intermediate social media managers, an example when Hootsuite is perfect is when you are still learning campaign management targets, the analytics are really great.

I currently use Hootsuite for two of my clients. I specifically use the scheduling and reporting tools. I have also used the premium version of the platform previously for other clients. In total, I've been using it for about 6 years or so. I've also used the app quite a bit.
  • Versioning posts per platform
  • Easy scheduling
  • Reporting types
  • I like the options for reporting but I find the interface really difficult to navigate.
  • Reporting metrics vary too much per platform.
  • Scheduling calendar is hard to navigate/preview posts
Hootsuite's best feature is how easy it is to vary posts per platform without having to schedule them separately. This is especially nice when I need to tag someone but they have different handles per platform.

Overall, I find scheduling on Hootsuite messy though. There are also features lacking in my opinion.

I manage marketing the 6 locations for our business, with a marketing staff of one- without Hootsuite, there is no way I could post relevant info in a timely manner. The ability to plan a week's worth of social content in a couple of hours is amazing! Hootsuite Academy has been a lifesaver for helping me not only increase engagement of the platforms we currently use, but educates me on the newer avenues we need to explore.
  • suggest optimum post times
  • ability to add multiple social media platforms in one step
  • ongoing training to learn within Hootsuite
  • mobile app flexibility
  • it's still a bit pricey for a smaller company
If you need to plan ahead for social content, especially with a limited marketing staff, Hootsuite is a godsend. I have continued the offered training within Hootsuite and it has completely changed the way my workday flows- for once I feel like I'm in control of our social media instead of always playing catch-up. I have actually been able to weed out a couple of social media accounts that were lagging and focus on the better performing channels.

We use Hootsuite to help us schedule our social posts across all our platforms. We also utilize the AI text generator to help us get inspiration for posts when the creative well is dry.
  • Scheduling posts
  • Reporting
  • A one stop social media hub
  • The ability to tag people or companies across all the social platforms (instagram and Linkedin)
  • If you're scheduling a post that is going out across all your social channels it would be good to be able to bulk move them if you have to post them on a new date instead of having to do it manually one by one
I really like that I can just go into hootsuite, connect all the our social channels and be able to have a great overview on what our social feeds look like. It's super handy not having to spend time going into each social platform to do the same post, and I can spend one day scheduling out that month's social plan.

I much prefer sorting out boosting post from Hootsuite, the only downside is that they have a limit to what you can boost a month so a lot of the time I have to grin and bear it and use Meta Business Suite instead for boosting posts.

It's not easy to make efficient time of your day-to-day social media tasks when you have to log in to each of the platforms and make separate posts, but aggregately logins and dashboards and reporting all into one hub really helps cut the time needed to make these posts. It also helps will calendar-izing your planned posts and pinging other people in your organization to review copy or content.
  • UI Structure
  • Platform Integrations
  • Navigation
  • Social Listening Tool
  • Functionality Not 100%
  • Integrations expire too quickly
It's good for small marketing or communications teams where efficiency is needed to ensure there's bandwidth. It helps encapsulate your social media agenda all in one tool as opposed a decentralized approach where you're planning using emails, spreadsheets, and using independent social platforms. It's also great to aggregate the data for reporting to leadership teams.

We use [Hootsuite] daily to manage our Twitter, Facebook and Instagram accounts to give our parents and community timely information about upcoming events and news.
  • It is user friendly and easy to schedule posts across different platforms.
  • It aggregates data well so we know how much interaction we are receiving on every platform
  • The mobile site is easy to use
  • Hootsuite has room to improve when it comes to consistency - sometimes videos are difficult to upload, sometimes things get double posted by accident, or occasionally something will be scheduled but an unforeseen error will cause it not to post.
[Hootsuite is] well suited for school districts to schedule posts or push important information quickly across multiple platforms. We now have English and Spanish social media channels, and I can easily copy the English post and then re-write it in Spanish so I can use the same pictures while posting different content on other social media channels in another language.

For Hootsuite, we use it in the marketing department to help share posts on our social media channels. Right now, that consists of just myself but [I'm] hoping that will be expanded over time. This helps [me] schedule and put together monthly content calendars for our social media channels and see them all in one structured place.
  • The layout is great and how you can see the monthly calendar is appealing to the eye.
  • Hootsuite is very easy with incorporating and linking to your existing social media channels, [whereas] other programs have not been as smooth.
  • The whole process of adding images, creating posts, and scheduling them is very easy in Hootsuite.
  • Tagging pages in posts doesn't always work or the pages do not pop up
  • Not having the ability to reshare or retweet posts
  • Analytics side of things
Hootsuite is great for posting and scheduling new content for your social media channels. It is a timesaver and a great way of seeing everything you have scheduled/posted in one place. It would be nice to be able to tag other pages/accounts from Hootsuite a little easier though.

Manage multiple social networks: schedule and post to many Facebook pages, manage engagements
  • Schedule & post content to multiple facebook pages
  • Conduct training webinars
  • Manage facebook page engagements for multiple pages
  • Great social presence themselves with great tips and tricks
  • Localization of posts for a franchise system
  • Included review management for franchise locations
  • Social listening
  • Local listing managment
I loved using Hootsuite and participating in their webinars. It just isn't necessarily designed for franchise systems. Great social presence, really on the trends, makes things relatable

I used Hootsuite for my automotive dealership group's multitude of social media accounts. Hootsuite allowed me to schedule posts, post to numerous accounts, and get more in-depth reporting than what is natively available. We currently have 5 dealerships, each with their own set of social media profiles. Hootsuite makes managing multiple profiles much easier.
  • Schedule posts
  • in-depth reporting
  • post a single post to multiple profiles
  • monitor reviews and comments
  • Google post integration
Hootsuite is a great solution for managing social media profiles. It's more cost effective than many of the competitors.

I use it to schedule out posts on our social media channels, monitor engagement with our posts and monitor our competitors.
  • Able to schedule posts easily and use Canva to edit photos
  • Able to use AI to help generate content
  • Allow scheduled carousel posts on Instagram
  • More information on reporting
  • It can be glitchy at times
It has increased our efficiency by allowing us to schedule many posts at once.

Everyone knows Linkedin has an algorithm and Hootsuite is a great tool that allows you to make the most of the Linkedin algorithm. If you are regularly posting on Linkedin, the ability to schedule, duplicate and move posts around on the publish allows you to always be active in your networks. The ease with which you can reschedule posts and repost old posts makes creating content almost thoughtless. It is almost plug and play in terms of its ease of use and I would fully recommend to anyone looking to take a more structured approach to their social media
  • Suggest timings for posts
  • Ability to duplicate old posts
  • Ability to move pre written posts if something comes up
  • Ability to schedule more than 5 posts on the free version
  • Allows you to tag people in the posts
  • Suggest hashtags
Hootsuite is great for being able to schedule posts to go out at the exact key times that work with the Linkedin algorithm Hootsuite is great for moving posts around with ease if you have a last-minute post come in Hootsuite is great for people able to copy and paste old posts on the publisher to help you create more content.

We use Hootsuite in our Digital Communications Analytics class every semester to assist students in their preparation for the working world. Students often asked for more insights and education in the tools used by today's brands and agencies to measure success. By providing Hootsuite in the classroom, we give our students a better chance at success right now and in the future.
  • Easy to get started
  • Training videos that are not hard to understand
  • Industry-leading platform
  • Sometimes the dashboard can "lag" behind
  • Does not always show posts in specific sections, like mentions
  • Layout can be an issue at times
Hootsuite works really well in the classroom setting. Even though I've used it often outside the classroom, I find it more effective in the classroom. Students get an idea what they can look for with clients or brands. Outside the classroom, I do not use the dashboard as often. Instead I opt for Twitter's webpage or it's app.

Hootsuite is an excellent social media manager. We use it to upload content across our various platforms, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, Youtube, etc. We can schedule posting times, reposts, and strategic engagement. We can respond to replies, and delete content. Hootsuite has extensive analytics and engagement tracking. Customer service and training videos are excellent. Setting up multiple users with varying access is a breeze.
  • User management
  • Content posting
  • Timed posting
  • User groups can be confusing
  • Onboarding training could be better
We were able to post content across our platforms with strategic ease. We tried a few other programs and they were lacking in smoothness. Hootsuite uses a simple calendar interface. The new Hootsudite creation AI is a good start, it definitely needs some tweaking. Video content, TikTok, Reels, and YouTube is wonky sometimes.

Hootsuite, a multipurpose social media tool which helping us to manage all out social media activities, from scheduling to content planning using calendars to social media analytics it is our daily driver. The analytics part is really helped us to get the past insights and take better decisions for the future. Making social media reports are ez pz, just two click away, plus 3-4 types of views to choose from. Filtering posts is also a easy task, for understanding our social media performance which is a daunting task to be honest, we can filter the posts easily here, even for the all the sites. That's the best part.
  • Social Media Analytics
  • Scheduling posts on social media
  • Social Media Planning
  • Analytics Reporting
  • LinkedIn Carousel: We cannot post LinkedIn Carousels using Hootsuite, would be awesome if they can implement this feature.
  • Similar to my last point there should be an option for sharing converting the PDFs to the pictures when sharing on other platforms (in case of posting multiple series of pictures) i.e. If we provide multiple pictures, the algorithm has to smart enough to understand that we are trying to post a carousel, so it optimizes the images for the specific platforms and help us to schedule the posts.
Any organization having a busy social desk can consider Hootsuite. It can help scheduling the posts for the day, week, month. There are some bottlenecks present, as it cannot post all kinds of media, but it does the job for most areas. Even for the reporting it provides all kinds of reporting parameters to choose from, pick whatever you like and include in your social media report. Customize it in your way. And the analytics can help you to take better decision for the future.

We use Hootsuite to schedule and publish in our four social media channels, as well as to monitor results and review analytics provided within the tool. It is especially helpful for scheduling content since we post every day; this ensures that we can continue engaging with followers even if the person with primary posting responsibilities is on vacation. We have been using it for several years and the platform continues to improve; most recently they introduced a cool AI tool to help generate posts and photo captions. We also like using the reporting tools that allow us to benchmark ourselves within our industry and to view how we perform against our competitors.
  • Ability to schedule posts in advance of publishing (allows us to review/approve content)
  • Tools to provide Competitive Analysis
  • We can see all four of our social media accounts in one place for ease of responding and monitoring performance
  • Other tools give us the ability to determine the best time of day to post and how posts perform overall.
  • Would be awesome if Hootsuite could auto-generate executive reports on a monthly basis
Hootsuite is great if you have multiple people involved in the approval process to see content before it is published. It can be scheduled, someone can review/approve. There is integration between posts and Canva, which we use to access images. We can see what our competitors are posting and what their engagement rates are. The best thing about Hootsuite is that all of your social channels can be monitored in one place. The analytics are very good.

We wanted to have a tool for our social media manager to administrate all social networks accounts from one place, allowing the person to save time on creating and publishing posts, but also on assets creation and management, and tagging of links in order to align with our global data strategy. We also needed a place to centralize data about our performance on social networks, allowing us to generate consistant reports.
  • tag link with dynamic UTMs, this feature has become a deal maker for me!
  • organize streams of posts by social network in a nice fashion
  • calendar view of posts is great and very useful to balance the number of posts
  • Because of the way algorithms works, we would have loved to be able to automate making a post with no link and posting the first comment with a link (hello LinkedIn)
  • We would have loved an easy way to post from a main account and repost the post for other accounts we administrate, for instance a corporate post reposted by individuals for LinkedIn, or retweets from one main account by child accounts
From my experience, I would say that the size of the company is a good indicator of how much resources can be dedicated to social media, and what outcomes you expect and thus want to track. SME have probably better options than Hootsuite, which might end up looking like over-engineered to just post on social networks. On the other hand, to manage different teams across different entities accros the world, with different level of access and rights, and use social media as a core part of the demand generation process, it is a great tool.

We use Hootsuite for social listening, social media management, and social media analytics. Using Hootsuite, we are able to post content to all social media channels of choice and monitor the engagement of the content, reach, and other performance metrics without having to log into each social media platform separately. I also get useful insights on share of voice and what's buzzing on social media and competitive benchmarking for better content planning
  • In-depth social media analytics across all platforms to give complete perspective
  • Competitive intel and market updates through social listening
  • Hootsuite academy is a great resource to learn more about latest trends and techniques in social media management
  • Set up process can be seamless, it is difficult to configure in self serve mode
  • Pricing is very high and can be made more affordable for smaller companies
  • Unable to tag people on images on social media and has to be done manually
Hootsuite is extreme delight in situations where there are too many social media platforms to manage and rapid and tailored content deployment across social media channels according to platform needs. It is particularly very useful for big brands and consumer brands with a large target audience. It is cumbersome to use for tagging oriented posts as this has to be done manually.

My organization is active on 4 social media platforms, however there wasn't a strong tool in place to schedule and map out our social media content. Also, pulling analytics was difficult because I had to go into each platform for all metrics. Hootsuite helped solve all of those issues by allowing post scheduling and providing performance metrics.
  • Planner is very reliable... all posts have deployed correctly and timely.
  • Metrics are accurate - I've cross-checked vs. native platform and the variance is within an acceptable range.
  • The ability to set up posts across multiple platforms has saved me hours of work!
  • The analytics view is limited... I would prefer to have the ability to order the columns.
  • Even though I pay for Pro I need to bump up my plan to output to Excel. You know this data is making it's way to Excel one way or the other, right?
  • Instagram metrics are limited. You get better insights from Instagram itself, although you need extended time in order to analyze on a daily basis.
If you need a basic tool that will allow you to schedule posts and measure performance, then Hootsuite is a great economical option. I'm in a very small organization, so a tool like Sprout is out of the question due to expense. I also have my time divided among several channels, social being only one of them, and the ability to mass upload/schedule saves me a lot of time vs. scheduling in platform (which you still cannot do in LinkedIn).

I appreciate the convenience of being able to schedule posts for multiple platforms at once with the option to customize each post individually. In contrast, other tools require scheduling each platform separately. Additionally, I find it useful that the calendar displays the post image. The ability to schedule posts in advance, view upcoming posts on a calendar, optimize posts for each platform, schedule posts at optimal times, and access basic analytics allows me to better plan and strategize my social media decisions, saving me time and helping me stay organized.
  • Schedule your social media posts
  • plan your content calendar
  • analytics in one-stop
  • helps to create strategy and plan your posts accordingly.
  • Sometimes it can be difficult to find draft posts after saving them.
  • pricing factor for small business
  • can improve a space for better analytics
Hootsuite allows me to not only schedule posts for the future, but also edit the content. This is particularly helpful when I am working on social media content for the week, as I can do it all in one go. Hootsuite makes it easy to either create unique posts for multiple platforms or duplicate content that has already been posted.

Hootsuite is used to manage 30+ social accounts. It is currently being used centrally by our marketing department. Hootsuite addresses three business problems for us. First, it allows us to easily schedule posts across multiple accounts and social platforms simultaneously with relative ease. Second, it provides fast and flexible reporting on key performance indicators across any and all key social accounts. Third, Hootsuite provides social community management tools that make it easier to stay informed and engaged.
  • Hootsuite is inexpensive. We subscribe to the Pro Team Plan.
  • Hootsuite is easy to use out of the box.
  • Hootsuite's reporting is easy to use and comes with a catalog of preset metric widgets that you can use to create your own social reporting dashboard.
  • Hootsuite allows you to manage your GMB listings and post across multiple listings at once.
  • Hootsuite doesn't allow the user to post video to GMB listings.
  • Hootsuite provides the ability to post videos over 60 seconds and carousel posts to Instagram; however, you have to take an extra step and use the Hootsuite mobile app to post the content on Instagram. Note, videos under 60 seconds and single image posts can be scheduled and posted directly from a web browser.
  • There are a few metrics that Hootsuite does not provide, such as FB response time.
  • The reporting GUI could use a facelift for 2021.
Hootsuite is well suited to stay within a tight budget. It provides most, if not all, of the functionality a business would need to stay on top of their social accounts. There are a lot of choices when it comes to social media management tools. Some may have more features, while others have less. We feel that it has the right balance of features and price point for our needs.
