HootSuite Enterprise provides a centralized platform for managing streams from different social media channels and posting/ engaging across channels simultaneously. It also has strong team / workflow features and good mobile apps.https://media.trustradius.com/product-logos/vG/FW/82VTWIZC8WTT.JPEGGreat Tool for Improving Marketing EfficiencyIt allows me to easily manage the social media accounts of multiple clients from one portal. This is a huge time saver for me as a marketing agency executive. It allows me to add multiple team members to my social media teams and coordinate their activities from one dashboard. I appreciate the ability to set up custom streams and track very granular keywords, geo-targeted comments, etc. For my local business clients, this kind of targeted tracking is essential,I would like to see Hootsuite create a better user interface for adding scheduled updates to the queue. The current system of uploading an spreadsheet is time consuming and awkward.,We've definitely seen benefits in terms of increased employee efficiency, particularly after putting our employees through Hootsuite University. There have also been improvements in terms of engagement for our clients on their social media channels.,9,8Great scheduling tool for social mediaWe use Hootsuite Pro to manage numerous social media platforms for several different clients around the world. Hootsuite is used by most people within our firm. It helps address the problems associated with scheduling lots of content for clients. We can pre-schedule content to make it easier to get messages out during the early and late hours. We can also tracks the number of clicks in order to better tailor our content to followers.,I like that Hootsuite makes it very easy to shorten a URL into an ow.ly link within the dashboard. I find it very easy to schedule messages and to see all of the upcoming messages for one client or all clients with just a few simple clicks. I like that you can review custom dashboards for each client, such as the Twitter homepage, scheduled Facebook posts, and inbox messages.,I wish that the reports didn't use a "point" system. We have a Pro account and still do not have enough points to generate some of the great reports that Hootsuite offers. Hootsuite should make it easier to schedule messages in different time zones. You can change the time zone of your dashboard but that's too cumbersome when you have employees accessing it from different countries. I want to easily know when to schedule a message so that it will go out at the correct time in another country without calculating the time difference myself. Sometimes profiles randomly get disconnected from Hootsuite and you have to reauthenticate the account by logging in via Hootsuite.,9,8,Hootsuite Pro provides a great return on investment. Without it, we wouldn't be able to send out some messages exactly when they need to go out without difficulty. We can also pre-schedule a lot of messages, which saves time overall. Because Hootsuite Pro is so easy to use, we can have experienced account managers draft the content and then train other workers to simply schedule it for the appropriate time, allowing account managers to focus on other client work.,,Saves time by allowing us to pre-schedule messages Allows us to analyze the results of social media posts for clients Saves us money by reducing the amount of time we spend on social media,We've used Hootsuite Pro to pre-schedule certain posts during a client's tradeshow if we can't be onsite,10,Implemented in-house,No,Change management was minimal,10,10,YesHootsuite Enterprise Review: Spectrum HealthAt Spectrum Health, we are currently using Hootsuite Enterprise within the System Communications and Marketing department. It is primarily used by the Social Media team; however, the Social Media team is in charge of managing others within the department who are using the tool. This addresses security, consistency, and ease of use.,Customer Service: Hootsuite Enterprise customer support goes above and beyond. When we are interested in updates, have questions, or want to customize the tool, the team at Hootsuite is always fast and accommodating. Updates: Hootsuite Enterprise is consistently listening to its customers and clients and updating the tool. These updates are timely and trustworthy. Ease of Use: The Hootsuite Enterprise tool is 100% user friendly. It works with your business to do what works best for your needs.,The Hootsuite mobile app would be much easier to use if the interface included a stream for favorites, new followers, and retweets. In order to allow for better cross-department planning, a draft feature that is open as public (public to team members) would be a great addition.,10,30,Better security (HIPAA compliance) Faster social care response time Increased social media visibility across the system as a whole,Sprinklr,Sprout Social,Radian6,10,2Hootsuite Gets the Job Done for Individuals, Small Businesses, and Small AgenciesWe use Hootsuite internally to schedule the majority of our social media posts on our Facebook Page, LinkedIn Company Page, Google + Page, and Twitter accounts. We also use it to post on behalf of our clients to their social media accounts. Lastly, we train small business owners and entrepreneurs on how to use Hootsuite for their businesses. We use the reporting tools for some of our clients and for ourselves.,Posts to Google + (limited API access, so this is a big deal) Posts to LinkedIn Company Pages Posts to Facebook Page (and personal timeline) Posts to Twitter,Sharing access to any social media account outside the organization is tricky. Clients who wish to share access have to give up their free or paid accounts and be added as a team member within your organization as a paid seat. Teams were a nice addition for granting/limiting access to social media accounts, but there aren't separate dashboards per team; all of the social accounts are managed by streams in tabs on one dashboard. With more than a few teams this is cumbersome and annoying. Bulk upload by CSV sounds great in theory, but most clients cannot manage it (expert level competency needed to accomplish this task.),10,,Hootsuite is a real time saver. It allows us to post and schedule efficiently. Responding to social media comments and messages quickly is vital. Hootsuite allows us to see who has responded, what they said, and when.,,8Hootsuite enterprise for the everyday companyAllowing others to manage Hootsuite with additional users. We have found that to be very useful allowing others to use it at the same time. We can assigned certain project to other strategist as well as post comments for them to read. The analytics are great, because you get to look at the links and where people are coming from. Offering you a greater insight into how your campaign is running while also providing you with the right information to provide to your clients to show them the results of your campaign. Being able to monitor what people are saying about you on the same screen as your post and news feed makes up for time management.,I think there could be room for seeing impressions and who your top influential users are on each social network. The addition of a buffer tool as well would be very useful for those trying to spread posts throughout their day. This would be a great to add-on to a great product.,10,5,It has been great offering us the ability to track our campaigns to see what is working for our social media strategy. We ran a promotion a few weeks back and we realized most of the success is due to the analytic of Hootsuite. We had more viewers going to our site and increased unique visitors thanks to the insight we had found.,8,5,Content management Anayltics Tracking,Create promotions Schedule ahead of time,Create widgets,8Toolkit for social media managementHootsuite Pro is being used to stay connected to the existing and potential customers using social media. One does not need to manage tens of social media accounts and then various profiles in case of different verticals within the organization. A single sign-in will do and multiple team members can be managed with varying roles and permissions within Hootsuite Pro.,Hootsuite Pro supports posting to Google + which is quite a rare feature across social media management tools. Moreover, it allows targeting the content to various sub groups like people following the business or to the existing customers. One can save template responses which are just like FAQs on websites which will be asked by customers multiple times. Supports the most number of social platforms as compared to competitors which makes it one of the most sought after solutions. With its extensive app directory (including CRM and analytics solutions), one can connect to more services which are not supported in the core software.,No support for URL shortners other than ow.ly which is owned by Hootsuite. If you have already subscribed to a custom URL shortner, you don't want to switch from the same. Some problems with how the content posted on Facebook is tracked. The Facebook analytics report is able to track the likes, comments, etc but the same is not captured in the Hootsuite feed. Hootsuite does not track the number of clicks and shares for the links which have been added using URL shortners other than ow.ly or ht.ly and also if they have been added outside of Hootsuite.,7,Hootsuite has helped improve our customer service and perception. As more and more people are considering social media as the best way to voice out their opinions about a brand, managing customer responses using Hootsuite has become a cakewalk. Employee productivity and collaboration has increased as now the posts can be converted into tasks and can be delegated to different team members manually or based on pre defined work flows. Also, employees can now remain productive even on the move with the help of Hootsuite apps which are available across all mobile platforms making it device and platform agnostic. Management is able to keep a track of agent productivity and campaign ROIs. This keeps them abreast of the situation in real time so that corrective measures can be taken if something is not going in the right direction.,7MailChimp's Hootsuite Review-a-palooza!MailChimp uses Hootsuite to manage our various social media accounts/profiles. We have a Social Support department that uses the app to monitor and respond to folks that have questions or comments. It's been great for making it easy to have a team that manages things, and for tracking the work that each team member does.,Hootsuite has been a valuable tool for enabling multiple members of the team to work efficiently and comfortably since each login profile can set their dashboard up as they wish. That's something that we haven't had before and makes things much easier for each one of our team members. Since there are multiple logins Hootsuite makes it much easier to keep track of what team member is managing what conversation. It allows us to make sure that all of the incoming questions are answered and that no one person gets too overloaded. It also makes it easy to assign things to some other departments that are set up to respond/monitor specific posts as well. Hootsuite offers many opportunities to learn! There are webinars that pop up often and Hootsuite University is full of handy modules that can help make life easier for our Social Support team. We're much better off for having those opportunities to increase our own knowledge!,We'd love for Hootsuite to have a few more reporting options tied to the activity of each login. Some form of reporting that includes specific responses tied to each user would be fantastic. Also would love to see a report that covers ALL tags, without having to manually choose each one. It can at times be cumbersome when bots make a ton of tweets that flood our Twitter feed. It would be great to be able to filter out keywords or Tweets from specific handles, as that could help us ensure we aren't missing anything important! The workflow tied to commenting on some Facebook posts -- generally when they are not posted directly to the MailChimp FB page -- can be kind of confusing and a little hard to do. We'd love to see that be more straightforward, and I know that Hootsuite has their developers looking into it already!,7,On a positive note, Hootsuite certainly does contribute to each Social Specialist on the team having increased efficiency. All of the folks enjoy having more control over how their dashboards are set up. Another positive impact is reflected by the built in learning tools available. That's a big plus for us, as we always want to increase our knowledge of our tools and also the Social Support Landscape overall. Overall, the ability for our team to easily see what they are working on and know who is owning what makes us work as a more well-oiled machine. That efficiency leads to better output and more educated users on social.,Sparkcentral,7Hootsuite: It will change your lifeWe have implemented Hootsuite Enterprise in four departments at Radford University: the Office of Web Strategy and Interactive Media, the Office of Undergraduate Admissions, the Career Center and the Office of Alumni Relations. Hootsuite Enterprise has revolutionized how we manage social media. We are able to see at a glance all of our key social media accounts, post easily across them, view the content calendar across all the areas within Hootsuite, assign inquires to the appropriate users, and get robust and useful reports that aid us in analyzing our strategies and tweak them as needed.,The ability to create customized dashboards allows us to get a high-level view of how everything is going -- all in one place. The reporting capabilities allow us to see what is working and what is not so we can tweak our strategy. The ability to manage permissions across a broad team is awesome!,Currently, university LinkedIn accounts cannot be linked through Hootsuite, so we still have to log in separately to manage that account. I wish we could customize the look and feel of the dashboard a bit.,10,10,Increased employee efficiency Better customer service Improved strategy,Sprout Social,Vocus PR Suite,10,1,Better customer service Improved engagement Better organization,Vendor implemented,No,Change management was minimal,The first part of the implementation was essentially a product demo. Since we had demoed the product several times, it was redundant.,9,Setting up dashboards Posting to social channels Creating reports,Creating really complex reports is a bit tricky.,Yes,9Using Hootsuite EnterpriseWe are using Hootsuite Enterprise to better coordinate our social media channels/messages. It has helped to streamline our external recruiting processes and has allowed multiple departments to begin working together to produce content and schedule posts.,Hootsuite Enterprise allows us to access more social media channels than the other products we've looked at. They've also been open about upcoming additions, which has allowed us to plan which channels we may use in the future. When we've had a problem with a post or using Hootsuite Enterprise in general, the support team has responded quickly. While it is never convenient to have something stop working, it is nice to count on their quick response. The Team Hierarchy structure is straightforward and has been simple to use as we've had to adjust access for individuals who have moved to various teams.,There is no simple way to preview how a post will appear on the various social media platforms. It makes it tough to know what to expect without some trial and error. I wish there was more transparency about how each feature works. For example, Hootsuite allows you to post multiple pictures on Facebook in one post. However, when they go live it actually posts each picture separately. Knowing how it works ahead of time allows us to tailor our approach.,8,5,Hootsuite Enterprise has allowed us to respond to social media crises much more quickly. That speed allows us to prevent some situations from becoming bigger than they would have before. It has reduced duplicate efforts from our recruiting teams. In the past, several people would be trying to reach the same goal. Now, we can have one person working on the goal while the others spend their time more wisely in other areas of focus.,Meltwater Buzz,Sprout Social,8Hootsuite Enterprise for UniversitiesHootsuite Enterprise has been our go to tool for managing social media at Georgia State University. Universities by nature are very siloed and this tool gives us the ability to effectively monitor the conversation and get it in the hands of the right departments across campus. As a result customer services has improved as well as our lead generation for admissions. I have also been very pleased with the level of customer support and service Hootsuite provides. They are always willing to go above and beyond to help their clients solve business problems. You will also find as you start to work with Hootsuite, they are always improving and adding new services. We are very pleased with the product and the way Hootsuite has helped shape our interactions with our audience.,Social dashboard - integrates with most social services and has a robust selection of apps Work flow - provides great work flow for social customer service Listening - gives us the tools we need to monitor the conversation,LinkedIn University integration - This is more on LinkedIn's end of not opening the API, but it is a gap for universities.,10,,Lead generation in admissions Improved customer service,,10Hootsuite Review for those who do not 'do' social media for a livingWe are a small consulting business. I am the sole user and I use it to co-ordinate my outgoing communications across LinkedIn's various groups, Facebook & Twitter,Easy to send and schedule - once you figure out where you do it from. The instructions for scheduling are straightforward The Hootlet on my Chrome toolbar has increased efficiency with communicating interesting web links being easy to spread It is easy to add LinkedIn groups to a communication message, again, once you have done it once or twice (first time was a bit tricky) The link shrinking is a good feature - saves having to go to ow.ly,I find it is not as intuitive as I thought it should be, although easy once you know how (& remember how!). I found myself guessing where stuff might be and some things still baffle me! As it is not my 'day job', I can only spend so much time trying to uncover the benefits. The vertical slider is very narrow. A small issue but an irritating one! I notice this is a trend on software but I don't like it. My Windows vertical slider on my screen now at 3 to 4 mm (1/8th of an inch) is a lot easier to control. I find the whole 'streams' concept a bit confusing and don't know what to do with it other than look at it. I might be a bit of a social media laggard but I find myself in the 'one way' (outgoing) communication stream - and don't know how to readily respond to others. Adding new LinkedIn groups is a bit of a hit and miss challenge. I have to remember which screen to go to (which reminds me, I will have to do this again soon). It would be good for Hootsuite to reach out to LinkedIn and offer me to sign up those groups which I am not using through Hootsuite rather than wait for me to go through another screen (when I find it!) and to this. I would like to have the option of grouping LinkedIn groups so that I could short cut selecting groups for particular messages. For example, I am a member of a number of Australian based groups, as well as HR groups, Insolvency groups, Restructuring groups, Business Owner groups. It would be good to have the ability to 'group' the groups to save time posting. The posting process is not a check box but you click on the link and it disappears and reappears in the links to be posted to. Again, a bit of a challenge the first time to intuitively know how this works.,7,1,I use it to reduce my stress of feeling that I should be communicating. It has achieved that to a large extent as I have increased my knowledge of how it works. I can't say I have obtained any direct leads from it but I notice that my postings are getting some traction which is good It is the usual '100 hours' to learn the software. I find most software - even relatively simple to use software like Hootsuite, still requires a level of trial and error and study - oh and mistakes!,,9,8,5,6Enterprising!It's being used by the corporate social media team along with the social media admins from our regional hospitals and service lines.,Publishing to multiple channels Scheduling in advance Content library,It would be nice to be able to add more streams to a page for monitoring. The reality is that there are many platforms and tools that are available for social media monitoring and engagement. It seems like there is a new one every day. Some of them have good features that are similar to Hootsuite. The difference in my mind is Hootsuite's experience and reputation. They are clearly an established leader that continues to innovate.,No,9,Yes,Standard reports Adding social channels Making assignments to team members Scheduling posts,Integration with LinkedIn is not the best. Not sure where the issue lies, but I can't use the Hootlet tool to schedule a post because it doesn't properly import the picture for the post.,Yes,9,10,8,10,10,Hootsuite took the time to learn about our specific needs related to the channels we utilize and the industry in which we work. They provided several potential solutions and variations from which we could choose. We were able to then provide feedback on what we needed and didn't need when it came to the various features like training, crisis management simulations, scanning for any channels related to our company and price.,Don't be afraid to negotiate. Hootsuite is very willing to work with you to create a custom solution that will meet your specific needs. And, the solution can scale as you grow or your needs change or expand. For instance, you don't have to start with a custom training or education solution. The Hootsuite Enterprise comes with access to Hootsuite Universities extensive library of video training. But, if at a later time you want to implement any of their additional custom training, you can do that. And, it's easy to add seats to the platform as your team grows, or as you expand use throughout your organization.Affordable, effective and reliable solutionHootsuite Enterprise is used throughout our organization. We have members of our team across the US and in Australia and the United Kingdom successfully utilizing this product. We rely on HootSuite enterprise for monitoring, responding and measuring the impact of our social media efforts. We have found it to be a great fit for our organization.,Monitoring a number of different platforms, and social media accounts globally. Love the response tracking and internal communication among teams. Analytics are simple and easy to use. They allow for auto-generation which saves us a great deal of time monthly. They are also easy to read and understand for our non-social media stakeholders.,They are making product improvements all the time.,9,,Reduced time to customer response and resolution Increased efficiency in monitoring social accounts at the enterprise and local level. Increased efficiency in generating social media reports. Improved social media monitoring by account and key topics,10HootSuite Enterprise: Great functionality but at too great a price? We are a small advertising/marketing/PR agency and we have a social media team that uses HootSuite Enterprise to manage client social media accounts, as well as our agency's own accounts. HootSuite Enterprise lets us monitor conversations, schedule messages and run analytics for multiple clients, each with multiple social media accounts, from one shared dashboard without each person having to know passwords or sign in to multiple accounts. Most (but not all) clients also have one or two of their staff members who can share the same dashboard with our staff to form a joint team. After we do initial orientation for our staff or client team members, we can enable them to enroll in "HootSuite University" to continue their education independently. We can quickly build client-specific Twitter lists and integrate a client's existing apps (e.g., Salesforce or Mail Chimp, or Constant Contact) to efficiently implement an advanced social media strategy for our nonprofit, public sector, and small business clients.,Works well with a broad range of social media networks (Google+ pages, Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn corporate/groups/individuals, YouTube, Flickr, Vimeo, FourSquare, Instagram, Storify, ScoopIt, SurveyMonkey, etc.) so everything can be managed (and analyzed) in one place securely. Customized analytic reports can be built for each client and scheduled for automatic distribution on a set schedule. HootSuite University enables self-paced independent learning for new staff and clients. "Template" posts/messages can be developed and saved for each social media team, which ensures quality for routine hiring/recruitment and customer service messages. When monitoring/listening for certain topics, you can easily email or assign specific posts and comments directly to the responsible or interested party.,Although at the Enterprise level there is an expedited support function, we have found the speed and quality of the responses to be spotty. The Enterprise level is extremely pricey and clients routinely downgrade to the Pro version to save money. Only ow.ly links are tracked, so if clients or staff forget or use another app or web version of a social network, no analytics are available. (There is a custom url shortning function, but it is outrageously expensive.) We find that the integrated HootSuite Syndicator and the RSS Reader app are extremely slow and bog down everything, so we continue to subscribe to Feedly to monitor RSS feeds for individual client industries. While pricing at the Pro level is published, the Enterprise pricing is not -- which continually makes us (and our clients) worry that as small firms we are overpaying relative to the Fortune 1000 and other 'big guys.',7,5,Reduced staff time needed for training new clients on HootSuite and social media in general from using HootSuite University. Negative ROI because after training and set up, clients migrate to Pro version to save money. (We are not resellers and do not mark up HootSuite charges, but smaller clients can save significantly by switching from paying their pro rata share of our Enterprise version to a Pro version.) Increased employee efficiency from logging in and scanning/monitoring multiple client accounts from one dashboard.,,6,Implemented in-house,Yes,Change management was minimal,If a client or staff member has an existing free HootSuite account, the transfer of ownership and set up in HootSuite Enterprise caused confusion. A client administrator inadvertently deleted Twitter lists and account reports that took quite a bit of time to recreate.,8,Building a custom dashboard with streams for each social media network, list or group is a breeze. Building and scheduling custom reports is easy. Integrating apps such as Salesforce or Constant Contact is easy.,Adding a new staff team member or client team member to a fully set up existing client team. People get confused and we'd like to be able to simply 'copy' an existing set up for them Enrollment in HootSuite University is all or nothing. For clients, we'd prefer to be able to select specific modules for them and block modules more appropriate for the agency. The work around for adding more than 10 streams to a tab, or more than 20 (?) tabs to a dashboard is annoying. Just let me add more, rather than make me "add an app" and then convert it to something else.,Yes,9,8Hootsuite: The Place To Be For Social Media ManagementWe at the CFL use Hootsuite Enterprise for not only social media management of our own channels, but have a contract that sees all 9 CFL teams use the Hootsuite platform. This allows all the teams to have their social media (most notably Twitter) all under one umbrella giving access to great functionality such as content library and the ability for everyone to see what everyone else is doing. Placing all team and league accounts under the enterprise software has been a great tool for not only me at the league office, but for all teams.,The Tweet Scheduling tool allows social media managers like myself to take care of content days in advance and allows others within the org. to see those scheduled Tweets to ensure there is no timing overlap. The different stream functionalities allow me to have different set ups for Game Days, special events and easily track our teams, players and media. The content library allows me to easily share content with the other org users with the simple click of a button. The 24/7 support team is always ready to help should anyone in the org. have any questions, concerns or notice any bugs.,For me there is no real weakness to the Hootsuite software except the Facebook publisher tends to have a bug or two when using it to publish multiple photos.,10,,Certainly increased employee efficiency as we are able to track, monitor and observe everything going on in Twitter and social media very easily. Allows us to see trends and big things faster, as they happen and respond in a more timely manner.,,10Hit Up HootSuiteOur department made the decision to purchase HootSuite Enterprise in 2013 in order to maintain a growing number of social accounts as well as provide a better institutional understanding of the role that social media plays in the communication efforts for all audiences including faculty, staff, students, alumni and fans. While not all departments on our campus utilize Hootsuite Enterprise, more and more departments are expressing interest in the software.,The ability to share an editorial calendar with all users in the software is incredibly helpful. It allows our internal social decision makers the ability to see what content their coworkers are sending and when. Hootsuite's customer service is second to none. I can always get a response from a team member quickly which is critical in the world of Public Relations and Communications. They also aren't focused on the next sale and call to follow-up on product usage frequently. It's a relationship; not a sale. HootSuite is constantly improving the platform and adding value to an already powerful software.,I'd love to see interactive reports that could be shared online. As of right now, the analytics portion of the software is quite helpful, but I hope there will come a time in which my CCO asks for a slick, interactive report that I can generate within the platform and send to him without having to download a PDF.,10,23,Thanks to HootSuite Enterprise, we can quickly funnel questions received on social to the appropriate personnel on campus. It's cut the time that I spent scheduling messages on individual platforms in half, thereby allowing me to focus on more big ticket items.,Radian6,10A handy straight forward programWe currently use Hootsuite to manage our primary social media channels (Facebook, Twitter, Google+) and to interact with our parent company and sister brands. The primary reason for using the software is to better organize and review our posts before they post on various channels. Since our whole group uses the program I can see which brands are pushing out messages at a given time to help serve the overall strategy of the parent company.,The scheduling layout is superior to any other products on the market Ability to add group members and change access for each member on the fly is very handy The contacts interface is nicely arranged and helpful in looking for followers of influence,The software is very inconsistent with formatting for Facebook & Google+. At times it will set up a post to render nicely in the channels and at other times it will not show an image or show sloppy formatting where it's better to post directly in the channel. I wish there was a good way to post directly to as many channels as possible and just hit up the differences between the channels instead of having to create separate posts for different channels so that formatting will work correctly. The streams are handy, but if you have quite a few channels it is hard to navigate quickly to what you want to see. If there was a better way to break down or temporarily hide sections it would be very handy.,9,1,Hootsuite has helped me become more efficient and organized with our primary social media feeds. I have not measured an overall ROI, however after trying another system I do end up saving at least 1-2 hours a week vs. not using the program.,TweetDeck,8Hootsuite? Big fan.Hootsuite is used at my organization in the marketing and communications department. It helps us to efficiently monitor our social media communications and allows for a team that is physically in different locations to all work on the same accounts collaboratively. I love that I have Hootsuite on my phone and can be responsive no matter where I am. It is also very helpful in scheduling communications to go out at predetermined times. On the weekends, for example, it is nice to know that Hootsuite is set up to send out material. It makes my work load more manageable.,Makes communications more efficient by allowing a team to collaboratively monitor communications. Allows users to schedule communications, decreasing the workload. The Hootsuite phone app is a lifesaver, allowing my to monitor my company's communications on the go!,There is room for improvement on the navigation bar on the left hand side of the screen. Analytics could be improved and brought more to the forefront, with support on how to use the analytics reports in presentations. The $9.99 a month seems a little pricey!,10,1,Hootsuite helped us to break down communications silos and communicate efficiently across departments. Hootsuite gives us that extra "manpower" to schedule communications strategically. We know the message will be sent out when it needs to be. Hootsuite has helped increase follower engagement because of the ease of monitoring our accounts with Hootsuite.,,10,Implemented in-house,No,Change management was a minor issue with the implementation,Multi-generational training can be challenging.,10,Sending communications. Scheduling tweets. Reviewing mention, retweets and sent tweets.,Analytics could be improved. Adding or removing social media accounts is not entirely obvious. I had to spend some time to do that.,Yes,10You get what you pay forWe use HootSuite Free to initially examine the cross-social media postings and activities of a client. It is too bad of a UI to use as an enterprise edition and too limited in analytics to use as a true client solution but you get what you pay for and it's a very low cost ($0, no setup fee) way to start getting a grip on a client's state of affairs in social media. Its popularity makes it a good initial sell for research purposes before we move to a solution which both has a better UI and has a more client-specific features (namely in reporting and analytics where HootSuite suffers in, perhaps as it's meant for management). HootSuite Free is also useful for increasing activity on clients' social channels at the lowest price just to get the client to feel confident about their social media activity rate before moving onto a more fully featured service. Pro ($14.99/mo) is required for any useful feature so Free is obviously only intended to get users to pay. We use it only on new clients who have naive or no social media experience. We ultimately usher them to mostly SproutSocial (most clients, small to mid) or Percolate (big, corporate clients).,Web-brower based (no more Adobe Air, thankfully) Very fast setup Free means no payment or client billing needed Widely known so easy to sell clients on it The original in social media management remains useable, relevant,Reports are overviews only thus user needs to pay for anything more thus condemning HootSuite Free to management only Publisher, Conversations & Analytics in Free do nothing without Pro payment, so remove it Far slower stream updates than native platforms Questionable security (2FA not defaulted = problem) given sensitive nature of its associated credentials Apps are many & seem useful but no ratings for the developers disallows vetting trust,5,3,Cheap (free) to start monitoring a client's streams & thus how they can make quick changes to posts/content Reasonable functionality given the sheer array of social platforms Increases client confidence as they & we can view the whole social media stream at once for free,,,Initial client social media use monitoring Most basic levels of posting Initial push to increase social media management for early-stage clients Basic UI which anyone can fearlessly use,5,No,Price Prior Experience with the Product Existing Relationship with the Vendor,We can't sell clients immediately into a high cost thus fully featured solution so our social media entry points must start at these lower price points then move up as client confidence grows. Our business requires this gradual development.,Implemented in-house,No,Change management was minimal,5,No,3,No,None, HootSuite Free has no support possible, only Help Desk read-only articles, no contacting possible without Pro ($14.99/mo).,Web-based Reasonable self-explanatory UI Free cost still includes basic management,No reports beyond overview No Analytics No Conversations No ROI/Metrics No confidence in platform-specific features being supported,5HootSuite ... more like Hoot SWEET!As a business consultant I provide social media services, meaning my clients can completely outsource their social media management to me or there's the option that I could train them in the program if I believe it's a good fit. So far I have only been in the first scenario, and this program makes the job of social media management almost effortless. With the Pro account, I can have as many social accounts as I want, and I manage a LOT. I have tabs for my personal, my own business, and my clients. All of those have about 5+ social platforms that I have integrated with HootSuite. So that's a lot of social media accounts organized in one place. For someone like me, it's definitely the way to go. For an independent user just using 1 business with 5 platforms, the free version would suffice, in my opinion.,The dashboard - has a very easy interface that lets you customize what you see. I use a different tab for each business/client and then within those tabs, different streams from the various platforms. For example: Facebook stream next to the Twitter stream, and those are easily clicked and dragged around, added and removed. Letting you schedule posts ahead of time and simultaneously - If I had to do every social post individually I would definitely not be providing this service. This is an area that I feel really gives me a competitive advantage because it saves me time, but by charging a monthly fee for my services I am not punished on my invoices for the efficiency. For example, if I read an article that I want to share, I can click all the accounts I want to share it on and schedule it to post Monday at 9AM next week in one click. I like that it sends me weekly emails with quick stats so I can see which posts did the best and any new followers I gained in the week. Although it is easy to change your email preferences, I have never found HootSuite to be spammy. They only send me emails related to my accounts and I appreciate not being showed a bunch of partner offers or anything like that!,I use Firefox as my web browser, and there are times when I can't fully see everything I need to see, but that can be fixed by zooming out so it's not the biggest deal. I have the Pro version, not enterprise. I feel like pro is the best value for me. With that being said, I wish I could get some of the cooler features that I'm sure the next level up get. I have very low overhead for my business, I don't pay for a lot. So me paying for this program is a pretty big deal. There are times I wish I had more. I tried to build a custom report, but found out it was going to charge me extra for it, so I didn't follow through with it. Analytics wise I wish it would give me more. I'm not sure if there are more analytical options available to the next paid level up. I would really love to be able to do more streams of trends and account activity, and again make reporting easier. To show one of my clients monthly reports, I give them exported PDFs of Google Analytics and also a spreadsheet that I make from Facebook insights. It would be SO ideal if I could make a nice report in HootSuite that covered all of the platforms, especially those that don't provide analytics themselves, like Google+ and Twitter. To elaborate on the stream of trends, right now I can set up queries, for example on my personal account I have a saved Twitter search where I have a feed of the keywords "free screening" and "Seattle" so I can find free movie screenings in my area. Great life hack. I but for my Physical Therapy client for example I wish I could have a stream that showed me related keywords that were hot at the moment, popular articles for the industry, that kind of thing. I'm not sure if competitors to HootSuite provide that kind of insight, but it would be ideal for me.,10,,As mentioned earlier in my review, if I didn't have HootSuite I would most likely not be providing social media management as a service. As a lover of social media, I would probably try my best and check out the competitors, but I've heard HootSuite is the best. There are just too many platforms and I deal with too many accounts that it would be a 24/7 job if I didn't have this program. Sometimes I worry when talking with a new client. I don't want to tell them too much if they are the least bit tech savvy because honestly it is so easy to use and I want them to hire me!! Not just check it out and use it themselves. But what I do say is that I "use a program that saves me a lot of time by allowing me to schedule posts in advance." When it comes to ROI, using one client for an example, comparing what I pay and how much time I spend, I make at least $100 for every $10 I spend with HootSuite. Now that I've been in the game longer and raised my monthly fee, it's more than double that. So you can see there is a clearly positive ROI for me when it comes to social media outsourcing services. More than I would expect to gain from any software program.,Google Analytics,8,7,10Great for teams of any sizeWe are using HootSuite in several team across our marketing department, as well as our customer support department. It helps us monitor and respond to questions, complaints, or mentions in real-time allowing us to join relevant conversations or address customer issues at the speed that social media users expect.,Ease of use is a big strength for us. Getting new users up to speed on using the product is very quick and we don't need to spend a lot of time on training or support. The Assignments are great, especially when you have multiple handles for different departments. Being able to assign post responses between marketing and support, with notes, and resolve them when handled helps us make sure nothing gets overlooked. The ability to create discrete "teams" with associated permissions allows us to give control of our international profiles to those regional team without risking any cross posting.,In the publisher view it would be great to be able to add placeholder items with a certain status that wouldn't post it until approved. I would really the ability to track any links and not just the ow.ly shortened links.,9,We have been able to resolve certain customer service requests and questions immediately, without the need to open a ticket and add extra wait time on the customer end to get a simple answer. On the marketing side we have been able to quickly respond to questions about our product capabilities, which is especially important during the buying stage or when a competitor is mentioned.,10HootSuite Made My Job and Life EasierI used HootSuite Pro in two different capacities. First as a very passive user when an agency we worked with brought it to us. After not finding much use other than scheduling a few Twitter updates, I was ready to end our contract. I reached out to HootSuite directly and quickly changed my tune. Once the agency was cut out of the equation I found the tools available were great. I could publish content to various social channels, review analytics and a monthly call with my very helpful account rep kept me up-to-date on the latest additions. I quickly found myself doing all my engagement via HootSuite. It was a one-stop shopping experience that allowed me to post, respond, and review social activity. Keyword and hashtag searches were easy to set up for both Twitter and Instagram and if I ever had a concern my rep was addressing it ASAP. Now that I don't use it at my new role I realize how helpful their tools were. While it is not the prettiest layout on the market it is effective. The mobile app also came in handy when out in the real world and not near a computer.,Publishing and scheduling social posts. Continuing to build and add new apps that make life easier. Unlimited analytics made for a numbers man dream. Creating and exporting reports was easy. Great account rep, always attentive to my needs.,My only real concern is that some apps they provide require signing up and pay for the services. I felt that if it was being made available to me via Hootsuite which is already paid for then there should not be additional costs. I realize that this probably would drive the price up dramatically but still a bit disappointing seeing a new toy but not being able to touch it. It's not much to look at, drab grey and black. Could be a bit more aesthetically pleasing.,9,Increased employee efficiency Better and more timely customer service Ability to create and share reports with senior management in a nice package,Salesforce.com,9,Social Posting Adding new streams for monitoring Analytics reports,None, I found it really easy to use.,Yes,9Getting organizedHelps organizations keep their social media operations organized. For example, we manage dozens of streams from 15 different teams. It is kind of a mess. But Hootsuite makes sense of it all. It creates easily shared reports to help you track growth and performance. It makes scheduling and posting on social media easier, especially through use of the Hootlet.,I wish the reports were a little more robust and allowed more post-post tagging. For example, I wish we could go back and tag several posts then pull them into a report to look at how they did. I wish the follower data was a lot more extensive. If I could afford SocialBro, I would get it. I want to be able to parse my audience more quickly to learn different things about them and also to be able to target messages more precisely. I wish we could schedule shares. Here's what I mean. We have sub-accounts and we schedule posts to them. But I wish I could tell HS to go share that post when it is posted ...,Increased employee efficiency. Posting just doesn't seem like the big task it used to be. Plus, we can collaborate better.,9,10Great tool for our simple, multi brand social media needsWe, the marketing department, use HootSuite Free to manage our social media accounts for multiple brands. HootSuite Free enables us to monitor who's interacting with our brands on social media, engage with others on social media, and share helpful content for our audience. There are two of us who monitor and contribute daily. A few others use periodically. So it's great to have one place for all our users to go to for social media management.,HootSuite enables us to view multiple streams for our social channels from one page. This helps us see who's reaching out to us, what's being said about us, and what we're saying from one view. While we prefer to be in real time for tweets, scheduling helps us have a more global reach with Twitter. It enables us to schedule posts during times our global audiences are at work, when we typically couldn't Tweet. We really like how HootSuite shares who posted what for our accounts. It gives us a better picture of who's sharing what and when.,A general problem with Twitter as well with anything else online is spam. Being able to filter through spam would be nice for tracking keywords we're interested in. Displaying pictures inline like the Twitter stream does now would be great. But not a must have feature. The analytics reporting could be a little easier to use. I imagine it's more helpful with a paid subscription.,9,3,HootSuite Free has great ROI because it saves me a lot of time managing our brand's social media accounts. HootSuite Free enables our brands to engage with those talking about us in real time without having to have all our social media platforms open at once. HootSuite Free has helped us listen in on what our audience is talking about to help us understand them better and what their needs are.,,9HootSuite as one of the leading Social Media management platformsEffective overview of Social Media environment thanks to the well-developed dashboard and customization options. Good tracking & monitoring capabilities thanks to the simplicity of adding required data (tweet) streams. Easy-to-use communication capabilties. The highly intuitive HootSuite dashboard makes it very easy for users to publish new content, and reply to other users, on various different platforms, e.g. Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn. Integrated link shortener. Effective & customized KPI reports that offer good first overview of business performance with an additional option to integrate your Google Analytics account.,Competitor analysis could be improved in the future. At the moment, HootSuite is lacking superior capabilities around tracking competitor performance. Access to historical data is rather limited, but this is a common issue for most of the tools in this category.,Increased social media community that generates more leads can be partially attributed to the integration of HootSuite into our business activities.,9,,9,2,Social Media management Communication "Buzz" monitoring,9,,Implemented in-house,9,Online training Self-taught,8,From my personal experience and the experience collected from other clients, including complete newcomers, there are no big issues encountered in learning this tool. In case some tips & tricks are necessary, most of answers can be found on the web.,No,8,8,10,9,Integration with Google Analytics may be done in the future, and this is already supported by HootSuite.,Clients considering Pro and Enterprise plans can negotiate on different topics, including how many users are going to work with the tools; what kind of support is necessary; and the amount of credits required to track the data via analytics reports. For this reason, it is advisable to decide exactly how the tool will be used before engaging into a firm business relationship. Bear in mind that you have an option to try things out with a trial account, so use this trial wisely!.

At this time we are satisfied that Hootsuite offers the most of what we are looking for at the most reasonable price point. As the social media landscape and monitoring/scheduling software changes, so do our needs. We re-evaluate our tools semi-annually or as new tools emerge onto the market. If we find at any point that we aren't gaining an advantage, then we are open to switching products.

It's still somewhat early on, but we've been pretty happy with Hootsuite overall. We do think there are some ways that it could be improved based on our own experience and workflows, but that may not serve the greater good for all of their users. The impact on our daily operations has been positive, which is exactly what we were looking for at the outset.

I can't see myself learning another piece of software in this space unless I find some time! However, it does have some issues and if when researching others someone gave the opposition some rave reviews and in particular, addressed some of my concerns re gliches, then I would be highly likely to change.

If/when we renew, we are likely to downgrade from HootSuite Enterprise to the Pro version, or switch to Sprout Social or Buffer as they enhance their team and social media network breadth and functionality. Overall we think HootSuite Enterprise is very well done, but as a small agency we and our small clients cannot afford to continue it at its current price.

It's free so there're few blockers to renewing the subscription which is just a permanent account other than to revoke the social platforms' permissions after the clients have bought into another non-HootSuite platform. As its obvious purpose is to move users to Pro ($14.99/mo), the limited functionality plus the security permissions it raises as well as disabling any other HootSuite account from registering the associated social media platforms means we'd delete the HootSuite account after its limited initial use.

It's an automatic renew so there's no reason I would have to worry about this. For all the functionality I get, $10 a month is a steal. I am considering upgrading for a month so that I can do their online training program, Hootsuite University, where I can earn a certificate and be listed on their site as an expert in the program. I have inquired about this, and I could earn the certificate and then switch back to my pro account. I think the whole learning program and certificate is a very awesome thing for them to do. I see myself continuing this until I am not working in this industry anymore - and I don't see that happening anytime soon because I'm just getting started!

My main reason for renewing is that I believe we have not yet utilized all that the tool can do for us. I think Year One got us organized and on the right track, but we need one more full year in the tool to make sure we're using it well. Frankly, at that point I will want to compare it to others, and I am still not sure one tool might be all we need. We might need a better mix of social-posting and analytics tools.
