We are in the process of transitioning off of Google Hangouts to Zoom. It's currently being used on an individual by individual basis but will be rolled out wall to wall. It solves a few problems at Asana: 1. Easier to use when working with external parties (in BD, sales, CS), and 2. Easier to use when connecting our remote teams.
  • Can launch super quickly; less fuss with figuring out plug-ins.
  • Integrated platform.
  • Simple UI
  • More integrations
Zoom is perfect for any real-time video communication and screen sharing. I haven't used it for a phone call and don't know that I would.

Currently, Zoom is used across the organization. When an employee is on-boarded, they get a Zoom Pro account. We are also developing Zoom room hardware standards for offices around the globe. Zoom addresses the business problem of being easier to use than other platforms and hardware agnostic.
  • Zoom is easy to use. Users just get it and aren't confused by the UI.
  • Zoom support. Currently, I am a team of one, so I don't have the bandwidth to support every question and ticket I get. Having a ghost support army via Zoom is invaluable.
  • Innovation. The features of Zoom, like just the wireless sharing alone, means it gets deployed in every possible room.
  • The only annoying thing is that when I am using Zoom on my laptop (apple mac I use virtual multiple desktops religiously) and I command + tab to another app or virtual desktop and then switch back to the Zoom call, it always goes back to the Zoom app UI and not the Zoom call in progress. That's all I can think of.
Just the wireless sharing alone is a game changer for conference rooms. Before that, I was constantly seeking out solutions that could do both Miracast and Airplay reliably. For new builds, we put Zoom in all conference rooms even if they don't think they are going to use it for Zoom calls. Our users love the wireless sharing that much and expect it in every room. It provides a consistent user experience.

We're currently using Microsoft Teams, evaluating Zoom Rooms and Zoom conferencing to address the ease of use and quality of online meetings. So far we like what we see. It's super easy to use and well reviewed from customers.
  • It's easy to install.
  • Zoom Rooms is easy to navigate.
  • There's support for multiple monitors in Zoom Rooms.
  • The cost to replace an up and running solution.
  • It's an additional platform to support.
Zoom is well suited for any corporate environment or team environment. I can't think of any situation where Zoom wouldn't work.

I started using Zoom 4 years ago when I decided to start holding video meetings with my virtual team, and the tool we had been using, Gotomeeting, only had support for a limited number of participants. From day one Zoom has worked flawlessly. I continue to need to use other tools to meet with customers, and I am often disappointed because of their complexity and the challenges for reliability. I really can't say enough good things about Zoom. It works, it's easy, and it's affordable.
  • Good audio.
  • Good video.
  • No dropped calls.
  • We would like the ability to choose the layout as a viewer.
Zoom is great for meetings with smaller groups and between conference rooms. It's not a great tool for large scale meetings, but integrates well with other products. We are better designed for those large formats.

We use chat, video conf, and rooms as well as bringing the phone into the fold now across the company. It addressed many issues we had with Skype for Business.
  • Impressive video quality.
  • Ease of use.
  • Great support with sales and technical implementation.
  • It is very reliable.
  • More API integrations.
  • Feature discrepancies on mobile device platforms.
  • It doesn't support the dev environment as well as products like slack.
All scenarios, minus dev environments, where Slack seems to be king. I understand that is a different product with different motives and that Zoom is essentially best in class when it is useful, but I think there are many companies that would love to collapse to a single chat client for various reasons.

Zoom is being used by the particular division that I support. I am currently working with users and other members of IT outside my Division that are interested in leveraging the Zoom products. I am excited to share with them this as an option as Skype for Business is the current option, but it's got many challenges and is cumbersome. The ease of use, and that it always just works, is its strongest feature
  • Screen sharing is a great feature. there is very rarely a delay in the connecting to share out to the connected team. It's also great from an IT perspective, as I can easily set up a meeting to do remote troubleshooting and incorporate computer control requests to help fix the issue for my customers.
  • The video feed is clear and crisp, which makes for doing larger town halls just that much nicer.
  • The cloud recording access and sharing are easy to use. As the sharer of these recordings, they have made this very simple.
  • The incorporation of our current cafe mic and sound systems is also cleanly integrated.
  • Within the desktop application, I would like to have the ability to control all settings without having to navigate to the web portal.
  • We're looking forward to the upcoming applause features, as that will help with cutting down chats for large meetings.
In our organization, I would like to see it Leveraged for Larger scale webinars that are streamed globally. In our current environment, our only option is to hire out a production crew and stream. It would be nice to incorporate this into Zoom. It would also be great to see it in our CSuite environment so that they could leverage their leadership meetings with recording and clean sharing of Powerpoints so that a local Powerpoint slide mover would not be needed and all are on the same page. There are also areas where we can expand it to create a better user experience.

It is being used by the entire organization plus partners. It's also used for Allhands/Training/Marketing.
The biggest impact has been the transition to video-first comms. We have dropped VOIP/PSTN as primary comms because Zoom has worked so well.
  • Reliability and ease of use. Zoom is the first app I have used or administered that really truly 'just works.'
  • Ease of Administration -- making your admins happy will drive user adoption. My Admin team fights for this product when internal detractors get noisy.
  • Hardware agnosticism. Zoom provided us with global flexibility when vendors aren't able to deliver expected standard components.
  • We would like more control over isolating aspects of Zoom's business from my users. Specifically the third party app ecosystem. While land and expand works well to sell to me, my users will go nuts adding apps.
  • Okta Deprovisioning. This needs fixing.
  • An all-hands specific product would be great. While this is always super custom, extending the design philosophy to this use-case would complete the already strong magic.
As mentioned before, Zoom is amazing at all forms of collaboration communication, and extremely easy to use for the technically unsavvy. However, it's rough for me to use in an All Hands + ProAV scenario. It is the last part of my professional life that keeps me up at night.

It's being used across the whole organization and also on around 50% of the clients we have. We do AV systems integration.
By the AV and IT integration and more of collaboration, Zoom is getting there ahead of all others, and having the support of bigger AV manufacturers such as Crestron, Sennheiser, and Shure, boosts a lot.
  • Zoom works great within rack/room windows based machines as the Zoom Room host.
  • Controlling AEC and ANC.
  • Controlling capabilities, not being locked to a specific touch panel.
  • In the field of having a confident monitor on a direct share, it can be improved.
  • Expansion on Dante input channels could be expanded to more than 16.
Zoom is well Suited in scenarios where a large deployment, large scale client would have training rooms/divisible rooms with a need for a uniform solution for their globally spread locations. Zoom would help a lot in the meaning of simplifying lots of things.

Every user has an account. We have about 200 Zoom Rooms and we are deploying it for signage.
  • It just works.
  • It is easy to use and manage.
  • It keeps everybody connected.
  • The admin portion could use a portal instead of being on the user profile.
  • It does some false reporting of signs saying they are critical when they don’t have cameras.
  • The dashboard could be more customizable.
It is a very good meeting and communications tool. It does what it is supposed to do and does it very well.

Zoom is being used across our organization. Our primary reason for going with Zoom at the time was to replace an unreliable audio-only conferencing solution. Since then video adoption has increased, and we are slowly adding Zoom Rooms into the mix as well. It has been well received by our execs and end-users.
  • Zoom is easy to set up.
  • Zoom works on any platform or device our users may have.
  • Zoom is highly reliable.
  • We would like 4K video as an option.
  • Better interoperability with other video conferencing solutions. Some WebEx invites, for example, won't work with CRC if they don't contain the correct information in the invite to trigger it.
Zoom works well for anyone looking for easy seamless communication, whether it's audio only or video, with anyone anywhere. It will eliminate travel costs and can pay for itself for most companies just in those savings.

Currently, I am a job applicant for a number of higher education positions. To date, I have been interviewed via video conferencing with Skype, MS VC platforms, GoToMeeting, and Zoom.
From my experiences thus far, Zoom has been the most rewarding platform for me and the job interviewers. The technology was reliable and high quality.
  • Video Conferencing.
  • Chat Room.
  • Connect with multiple interviewers.
  • More applications for higher education with a focus on "best practices."
  • Sharing "best practices" of how Zoom is integrated with LMS that different institutions use.
  • The capability of colleagues in remote places to review, edit, and provide "draft" feedback to the author of a report/document.
Ideally, Zoom can be used effectively to meet, communicate, and elicit feedback and advice from colleagues that are geographically distant and part of the state higher education system. Instead of traveling to meetings all around a state, Zoom can be used to develop relationships, strengthen ties, and build trust with colleagues in remote locations. The human interaction and rapport that Zoom can provide to team members are invaluable, especially with regard to producing high-quality programs, reports, and work systems for the ultimate benefit of students, program partners, and employers served.

We use Zoom daily for communications between our remote sales offices and HQ, as well as for customer meetings and demos. The "it just works" aspect of getting into a Zoom meeting allows us to focus solely on our interoffice and customer interactions, without having to spend time at the beginning of the call solving technical issues around people trying to get in that we've experienced on other platforms.
  • Zoom connects from any device (smartphone, room system, laptop).
  • Very user-friendly.
  • We don't really have anything on this front. With the recent introduction of Zoom voice, all needs are well met on the platform.
Zoom is well suited for any and all remote communication needs.

We've deployed Zoom globally throughout all offices and all departments. We use meetings regularly and at all departments, as there's lots of collaboration between offices located overseas. We also use Zoom for all-hands meetings, seminars, and events. For events, we integrate Zoom with AV equipment such as Wirecast, Blackmagic capture cards, and Shure mics.
  • Video quality: Zoom can keep a stable connection and a seamless video motion throughout entire meetings. Sometimes there will be macroblocks and noticeable compression artifacts, even though our network is top-notch.
  • Audio quality: audio is clear and evenly distributed.
  • It's simple and fast to join meetings.
  • Zoom needs massive improvement in content sharing for video. We get very noticeable lag and delays when sending content through wifi, while Airplay using an AppleTV works with imperceptible lag.
  • IMPORTANT!!! -> Zoom has great documentation online, but it's not concise and organized in a way that we can navigate. It's particularly hard to google for documents, as "Zoom" is way too common a word. This has caused major headaches in the past.
  • Zoom could improve in video switching, implementing cutting functions, and the insertion of graphics and lower thirds. This would be particularly useful for events.
  • I would also love support for NDI (Ip cameras).
Zoom is well suited for collaboration with overseas offices, business meetings and, up to a point, live events. As I've mentioned, many functions should be added to the tool in order for it to be properly considered a solution for live events and all-hands meetings. We struggle to integrate it into AV solutions sometimes.

It’s used by the whole organization. All of the meetings in the company are done over Zoom. Even when there are no remote participants, we use Zoom for recording.
Zoom helps us connect our global workforce. We have many remote employees from all levels of the organization, including C level and VPS. Zoom helps connect all of them and allows for great collaboration.
  • Video and audio meetings.
  • Screenshare.
  • White boarding for engineering meetings.
  • Digital signage displays independent of Zoom Room.
  • Trunk SIP for Avaya PBX.
Zoom is at its best in any company that encourages the collaboration of remote employees. It’s truly a tool for a global organization.
The only scenarios where Zoom is less appropriate that come to mind right now are financial sectors, due to strict compliance requirements. Also, maybe the medical industry for the same reasons as the financial industry

Howard & Associates is a consulting company that helps organizations (primarily large corporations) implement enterprise video communications, including video conferencing, video streaming, video call centers, and digital signage. In the course of that consulting, we primarily work remotely and interact with our clients frequently over video conferencing. Our go-to tool to do so is Zoom because of its quality, reliability, and most importantly the fact that without fail, anyone can connect. The last point is extremely important. In many cases, my clients will be using, for example, Skype for Business, but to get multiple parties from multiple companies connected on video is in many cases impossible.
We have also provided consulting services for companies that are implementing Zoom. This includes Zoom room design as well as networking impact analysis. Many organizations do not have a video-first culture, but want to get there by moving to Zoom. However, they are extremely concerned about the impact this may have on their network. So we help them analyze their network and make sure it will be able to support video, and if not, how to modify it to do so.
  • Quality: the video quality is outstanding. It does an incredible job of adjusting to bandwidth issues, and rarely do you have a video or audio issue. In the rare cases you do, it recovers quickly and efficiently as if nothing happened.
  • Reliability: it always works. People rarely have issues connecting. The client software is extremely lightweight. As mentioned above, it recovers quickly and efficiently if there are network issues. If you are in a spot with poor data service, you can always call in on the phone.
  • Functionality: Zoom continues to add more and more functionality to the system, including Webinars (which people love), Digital Signage, and Zoom Phone. Customers that choose Zoom for meetings almost always end up using Zoom for additional functionality.
  • Meetings: I would like to have more options about where to place the video of the participants in the meeting, and which users I see. I like to put the video of the people at the top of the screen by my camera to get better eye contact, but it is difficult to do so when someone is screen sharing.
  • Webinars: I would like to see more options for video distribution within large organizations for webinars. Webinars works great for scenarios of hundreds to low thousands of users. But organizations are hesitant to use it for extremely large webcasts because there is no eCDN or multicast functionality so they are concerned about network issues.
  • Administration: From an administrative perspective, I would like to see Zoom add the capability to see what the client's internal IP address is, so you can determine which office the client accessed Zoom from. Currently, it only reports on where the client goes out to the Internet, which in many large organizations is still only one or two datacenters.
Zoom has become a fit for pretty much any organization at this point. Any time there is a shortcoming, they address it.

We are using Zoom all across our company in Zoom Rooms, in webinars, in meetings, and all other mobile collaborative communications. We are also using it embedded in other products for touch screen technology and interactive communications. We find it provides a smooth solution to all our audio and video communication needs.
  • It provides users with ease of use within their OS environment for direct communications.
  • It's very interactive between multiple users within the same meetings.
  • Zoom allows each user to customize their own Zoom interface the way they want to use it as a tool for audio, video, chat or Q&A submissions.
  • Sometimes video appears choppy or buffers with fast motion content.
  • I would like to see different custom layouts for content and live video in the recordings. It's hard to concentrate on a small video thumbnail image.
  • I would like to be able to pop-out the video or content windows separately and move around the desktop so I can work in other applications while joined in the Zoom event.
It is very easy to set up and use, and makes good use of collaborative functions for chat, video, content and archiving. They have clear and easy to use functions from the drop down menus or within the application window. Using it in webinars makes it easy to control users when presenting or just allowing them to speak out.
