Companies can't remove reviews or game the system. Here's why

I use ActiveCampaign in my coaching and speaking business to automate my marketing flows when new leads enter my newsletter / system as a lead. I also send monthly newsletter to my audience -- inspirational materials, learnings, updates and more. It's a robust system and I love all the training materials offered, templates, ability to track and tag leads so I can segment folks and track leads and more!
  • Automation features that systematize when leads enter my flows
  • Templates in campaigns that make it easy to send templatized monthly newsletters
  • Integration with other tools / apps
  • Very expensive for small businesses
  • Took out a lot of useful tools in the lower tiers (used to be available and they just removed it without notification!)
  • Pretty slow
The strongest value proposition of ActiveCampaign is the tagging, automation and templates. If marketing emails and systems is critical to the business then this is a great tool. It's quite pricey though so not always 'worth it' for smaller businesses who don't 'NEED' a marketing tool that's so robust.

In my organization, we utilize ActiveCampaign across all departments - from marketing and sales to customer support, making it a crucial part of our business operations. We primarily use ActiveCampaign's powerful email marketing features to manage and optimize our email campaigns. The platform's intuitive design tools and vast template library have streamlined the process of crafting compelling emails, enabling us to maintain consistent engagement with our customers and prospects. Additionally, the split-testing functionality lets us experiment with different email elements, providing insights that drive better performance in future campaigns.
  • ActiveCampaign's marketing automation features have also revolutionized our workflows
  • We utilize ActiveCampaign's messaging features for sending targeted SMS and site messages, helping us reach our customers in real-time, and further driving engagement.
  • In terms of sales and CRM, ActiveCampaign provides a comprehensive view of our customer data, making it easier for our sales team to track and manage leads.
  • The mobile app could be improved. It doesn't offer all the functionality available on the desktop version, which can limit what can be accomplished when I'm away from my computer.
  • While the platform is comprehensive, its user interface could be more intuitive and load faster at times.
  • Some smaller businesses and startups might find ActiveCampaign's advanced features to be pricey. Offering more scalable pricing options or packages tailored to smaller businesses might be beneficial.
ActiveCampaign has proven to be a powerful and comprehensive tool for managing and optimizing our email marketing, customer relationships, and automated workflows. Its intuitive email design tools, robust automation features, and integrated CRM have significantly streamlined our processes and bolstered our customer engagement. Despite a few areas for improvement such as a more user-friendly interface and enhanced reporting capabilities, the platform's overall performance and the value it brings to our business make it deserving of a strong 9 out of 10 rating. Its capacity to personalize customer interactions and increase our operational efficiency has truly transformed the way we do business. We look forward to seeing the enhancements ActiveCampaign will undoubtedly bring in the future.

I use it all the time to send emails to my audience. It also sends automation or flows, so it's easier to manage when it comes to engaging a new lead.
  • Automations - sending automated emails
  • Scheduling campaigns
  • Managing my CRM
  • Integrations with other software without using third party apps like Zapier
  • Help with improving deliverability
Appropriate to send mass emails to your audience and not have to worry about deliverability issues. It also helps keep contacts organized using tags, lists, and other features. It's less appropriate if you need a lot more, like a Hubspot or Salesforce type of CRM, so I wouldn't use it for those types of tasks.

We use ActiveCampaign for keeping customers up to date about new products/brands and monthly newsletters. Also we organize our opt-in lead campaigns through ActiveCampaign.
  • Useful e-mail templates.
  • Clear academy where we can find detailed videos'/trainings on how to set up emails campaigns, websites and drip campaigns for instance.
  • Various options to edit the email templates to our own branding.
  • Easy to upload & update contacts.
  • Easy to integrate with other apps like Salesforce and WooCommerce.
  • So far there is no possibility to refresh the nr of people that viewed a landing page, this is a pity since we often view the page ourselves during the launch to see if everything works live. These numbers however are no longer accurate in that way.
Useful and easy program to manage your contacts and set up e-mail automations to onboard new clients. Besides, it is easy to plan ahead and schedule email campaigns such as monthly newsletters. All content is easily traceable so a good analysis can be made of which campaigns perform better than others (& potentially why).

We started using Active Campaign 4 years ago and the primary purpose of using it was as our CRM. We then integrated it with our WordPress website in order to have a contact form and for registrations for our dinner seminars. We have not utilized it to the best of its abilities by any means, as we are a small company, and have not had a need but now that things are changing we want to start utilizing it more for email marketing which we are looking forward to learning more about.
  • CRM: The CRM is customizable, which is the original reason I chose it over other CRMs originally. I found other ones at that time were very hard to customize for our line of business.
  • Integrations: The amount of apps that Active Campaign integrates with is huge. I personally have only used a few, more specifically Zapier and WordPress. I expect to use many more in the coming months.
  • Templates: They have numerous pre-made templates to use for email campaigns that can be customized with graphics, colors, and fonts making it easier to be more productive.
  • Email: Unless it has changed, to my understanding it does not integrate with Outlook in order to save information from outlook into Active Campaign which would be a huge benefit to us. I know you can email from within Active Campaign but we use Outlook and it would be much easier to have a button or way to integrate the 2 from within outlook.
  • Calendar: Same as above. I would like to have the option to save my Outlook calendar to Active Campaign and vice versa so they were in sync.
  • Layout: While the layout of contacts is easy to use, I've found the interface lacking in showing each contact with a summarized view. I think having a more condensed customizable view along with the option for a more detailed view would be more helpful. Again, this is something I plan to look into further as there may be a way to do this. Once I find out, I will come back and change my review.
I used 4 other CRMs before Active Campaign, and while the others had their own bells and whistles, I ultimately found Active Campaign to be the superior one across the board but especially in price. Active Campaign offers the same things as other much pricier CRMs/email marketing platforms such as Infusionsoft but at a much more affordable cost. This is very important for smaller businesses in order to be competitive.

We are using ActiveCampaign as our CRM / campaign Manager / sales funnel origination system / etc. So yeah we use the natural integrations and Zapier integrations en masse for our B2B and B2C efforts.
  • Ease of set up - I am not a coder but have been able to set up multiple automations.
  • Powerful as you want it to be - allows you to use it by drop drag if you want or with internal AI.
  • Ease of billing - simple to decide exactly what package you want to use.
  • So much more user-friendly than any of the other systems we have had and looked at prior to deciding to use.
  • More natural integrations are needed. Zapier is great but just an extra step to confuse.
  • More graphics capabilities - as of now Mailchimp does have a better level of graphics for campaign emails but not by much.
  • a simpler level of training. They have training but due to there being SO many different pieces of training, it is easy to get lost.
The Campaign Management is simple and elegant but the CRM is still simplistic ad could use some more touches.

We came to ActiveCampaign from Pardot and we are very happy with the decision. Pardot was pretty expensive. ActiveCampaign offers just as many features and more integrations at a fraction of the cost. The list upload can be a little wonky sometimes and it can run a little slow but I believe they are working on both of these issues. We get monthly updates with new features so it is nice to know they are continually improving the product.
  • Integrations
  • Workflow Recipes/Automations
  • Landing Page Creation
  • List uploads are not as straightforward as they could be
  • Speed/responsiveness of the app
  • Let me create an email without selecting a list first
ActiveCampaign is a cost-effective replacement for Pardot. It's probably best for teams with some technical know-how so that you can get the workflows and integrations working properly. They do have customer support but setup is easier if you already know your way around basic automation and integration setups.

I switched to ActiceCampaign a year or so ago to manage my contacts and email marketing. I was originally using two apps (Mailchimp and Insightly) but found switching between the two apps was super clunky and contacts were falling through the gap, especially with my follow-up. We have sub 5,000 contacts and needed a sales pipeline (in ActiveCampaign this is called Deals) which works incredibly smoothly, and also ensures contacts are segmented out into various lists/tags. The Automations in ActiveCampaign are its most powerful feature as this allows you to build out really tailored landing pages and send specific people very specific content.
  • The deals (Sales Pipeline) feature is amazing.
  • The automations are very customisable.
  • Integrating into websites and apps is nice and easy.
  • It's quite pricey.
  • The site can sometimes be quite slow.
  • The dashboard is quite basic.
For managing my sales pipeline the dashboard in ActiveCampaign is fantastic. It's like a Kanban board where you can simply move clients from one step onto the next which automatically tags the prospect and adds or removes them in specific automation. I'd say it's perfect for a small business like mine but wouldn't be suitable if we scaled, and it's quite expensive compared to most CRM platforms available.

[ActiveCampaign] is used for communication with our clients, and it is used by the marketing team[.] We design our newsletters and maintain our client list in ActiveCampaign.
  • Email designer
  • Automations
  • Response and site tracking
  • Landing page design
  • Support
  • Advanced search of contacts
  • Performance reports
  • Speed of platform
  • More user friendly navigation like breadcrumbs
[ActiveCampaign] is perfect for regular marketing communication. It is not quite smart if you often need to write personal emails to a certain contact - there the templates are very limited, cannot be designed like the campaign designer. So: perfect for everything that can be [standardized], based on countless automation possibilities, but doesn't quite work for following up a client personally.

We decided to swap from another Email Marketing platform to ActiveCampaign in order to get more tools to track our Email Marketing activity and always improve it to give our prospects and clients the right information at the right time during their buying journey. We were looking for a solution to be easily implemented with our CRM software (Salesforce), and with ActiveCampaign we found the right tool.
  • Scoring Point.
  • Automation linked to the actions made by customers and prospects.
  • Salesforce Integration.
  • Implementation with the Email Template Design Software.
  • User Experience Design.
  • Bulk Tag of contacts.
  • Reports dashboard.
ActiveCampaign is well suited in a company like ours that want to bring Email Marketing to our clients and prospect to a more structured level - than the simple newsletter - integrating the process with software already adopted by the company (as CRM Salesforce). Also, the pricing played an important role in the choosing of this platform, compared with other solutions.

At Worship Sound Guy, we use ActiveCampaign to manage all of our sales email campaigns and to facilitate customer engagement via email. ActiveCampaign allows us to custom-tailor a customer journey that’s engaging and provides value to each individual on our email list. The automation functions in particular are crucial to operating our business successfully.
  • Creating automations and customer journeys easily.
  • Designing great looking emails.
  • Allowing for custom follow-up sequences based on our front-end sales platform.
  • The UI can be a little clunky at times.
  • A fully featured mobile app (or at least mobile compatibility for the website) would be amazing.
  • It’s been a bit disappointing to see that a few basic features (that are available on other ESP’s basic plans) are not available on ActiveCampaign’s Lite plan.
ActiveCampaign is a great choice for any business that needs to communicate to a customer base quickly, efficiently, and in a way that’s customizable. ActiveCampaign is easy to understand and implement which makes it great for almost any use case. I’ve recommended it to several other people who’ve loved it.

It is very easy to set up automations and there are lots of different types of actions that you can create depending on the actions that subscribers take. This can be triggering other automations, delivering lead magnets, tracking engagement, etc.. There are also many different apps that can be integrated.
  • Integrating with other apps or softwares
  • Tracking actions taken by subscribers
  • Being able to segment your list to make things more personable
  • There might be able to be descriptions of certain things that could use less technical words to help beginners understand more easily.
ActiveCampaign is well suited for sending out email campaigns to sell products or services through single emails or automations. You can deliver access to products or lead magnets. This might be less appropriate for anyone that doesn't need as many options for different types of automation. It is simply way more than enough.

It is used to record videos for customers. I use it more for customers.
  • Tagging
  • Atuomation
  • Optional texts
  • Design shown in some devices
  • Design of emails: sometimes I struggle with something that can be made, but there is an error with it after done, but I was able to do it that way without an error message
Is well suited for ecommerce or when many automations are used. If first time with email marketing and no automations intended, people often select free apps, and it is OK, if they will not take advantage of all the superb options of ActiveCampaign.

We use ActiveCampaign's automation to help onboard new clients and give them a great experience while taking the workload off our support staff. We also use it for announcing new content that we publish to our audience. We just implemented new automation to collect customer feedback and encourage Google reviews for our business, it has been working really well.
  • Automation
  • Integration with other tools
  • Broadcast emails and data
  • The email design editor is not as easy to use as some other tools
  • Creating the automations can be overwhelming, we hired outside help
  • Ability to control the mobile layout on emails is very limited
ActiveCampaign is well suited to businesses that need a bit of marketing or client onboarding automation, but it can be a bit too cost-prohibitive to newer businesses starting out that just need [a] simple email database and broadcast functions with very limited segmentation (not ready for the more powerful features yet). So often I don't recommend it to newer businesses.

We are using ActiveCampaign for marketing automation and research purposes. We send email campaigns to promote products and services and we create automated email sequences based on actions taken by our customers. Lastly, we use it as a database for when we need to make 1-on-1 outreach phone calls to our customers.
  • Email and Task Automation
  • Easy and intuitive interface
  • Segmentation
  • Integration of internal features
  • Compatibility with 3rd party apps
  • Their conversations app / chat bot add-on is a bit basic
ActiveCampaign is best suited to a business that wants to analyse their customer behaviour and create intuitive automation that meets their specific needs. More importantly, the interface is so simple and intuitive that you don't need to hire a tech expert to do it. Their support system is also the best I've ever experienced. You get a fast response and they are very technically astute.

We use ActiveCampaign on daily basis on our business.

We are in the travel marketing industry so we create sales funnel to attract new potential travelers and then we send them specialized emails campaigns based on their travel preferences.

It also helps us to keep in communication with our regular customers to send email campaigns to promote a discount for our existing products or a new release.

So, it's one of our main tools to segment new and regular clients.
  • Client segmentation
  • Integration with other software and apps
  • Automations (You can create an amazing marketing campaign based on "if" and "then")
  • Email design. The emails are ok and you can make them look pretty, but it's not that simple.
They always say the money is on the email list so ActiveCampaign is the perfect tool to segment and create a drip content campaign, for example:
  • A user subscribes to your email list cause he read or saw a post about traveling to Paris
  • The user start receiving emails about the trip to Paris (hotel suggestions, attractions, discounts...etc)
  • If you have a travel guide to Paris you can promote it to this user.
  • If the user bought your travel guide then you can send him another type of content or a VIP content
You can repeat the process for as many "destinations" as you want. Now, instead of "Paris" use any topic or product you sell on your business.

We use ActiveCampaign because it easily connects to MemberVault. Plus the automations are simple to set up. I use ActiveCampaign to automatically send my MemberVault users their login info for my free offer. In the future, I plan to use it for nurture email campaigns, once my product is live.
  • Automations
  • Segmenting audiences
  • Tagging audiences
  • More options on mobile app

We're using ActiveCampaign as both a CRM and email marketing tool across the whole business:
  1. Managing contacts and recording our interactions with them
  2. Sending regular emails to our mailing list to stay in touch with them and provide educational content
  3. For automations as part of products and services we sell (onboarding and course delivery)
It helps us to stay in touch with people - the advantage over other apps is that it's CRM + email marketing in one, so we can see contact activity relating to email campaigns in the same place as notes, telephone call records, etc.
  • The email builder has a lot of customization options when compared with other email marketing apps.
  • The automation builder is incredibly powerful, particularly when combined with contact tagging. With 'tag added' and 'tag removed' as triggers for automations, there's huge scope for building automation.
  • Forms and landing pages are very useful, especially for list building.
  • My biggest frustration is with the email campaign reports. The UI appears to almost be from a different, much older app entirely. The data I can see about campaigns at a glance is very limited compared to other email marketing apps.
  • More flexibility with Zapier would be a real improvement.
  • The campaign creation process, although mostly excellent, feels a little clunky at times. For example, when choosing a segment to send to (that includes all contacts with a specific tag) I can't see who is in that segment without a number of additional clicks.
Although there are some areas for improvement, I do think it's the best combined CRM and email marketing app available right now - it's flexible enough to cover use cases for those new to using email marketing as well as those with advanced automation. It's perhaps less appropriate for those who aren't tech-savvy - there is a training available but the learning curve is a little steeper than with other email marketing apps.

Used in my sole operator brokerage. I originally got it to replace another newsletter distribution app but then realized it's capable of SO much more- super impressed!!! It will be used across the whole organization- me and a range of contractors in various support roles around the country. I love the integration and automation possibilities- it's brilliant!
  • Marketing campaigns
  • Automations and workflows
  • Analytics
  • It's really slow on my system and no-one can tell me why
  • Huge learning curve, even if you're used to workflows/automations
  • Found it difficult to find stuff in help but that could be just me
Automating and tracking client newsletters, news releases on a one-off basis, I would imagine product releases would go really well because of the really comprehensive analytics and automation available. I'm a newbie so haven't really fully explored what it can do but I can definitely see the potential is huge and will grow with my business with no problems!

I’ve been using ActiveCampaign for close to 6 months now and it’s such a godsend to be able to have all the CRM functionality that one would have within a single platform.

It is used across the entire organization and is great for sending out our organization's messages to all our clients and gets the maximum and widest reach possible.
  • Excellent marketing channel
  • Total CRM solution
  • Customer information in a click of a button
  • Little cumbersome on a mobile phone
  • Maybe the security features a little bit too much.
  • Don’t want to keep going to a Authenticator to log in
It is great when one wants to look up client information in the shortest span of time possible.

Is a little cumbersome on a mobile phone and many times seem to toggle between the vertical and horizontal landscapes.

ActiveCampaign is the email marketing system that we use at True Blue Marketing, LLC for our funnels and newsletters. It is a streamlined system with an impressive CRM-style database that's more robust than competitors I've used in the past (5+ years) which allows us to have more in-depth metrics when scoring potential leads for sales.
  • CRM-style database
  • Solid metrics for emails and engagement by constituent
  • Great deliverability (better than competitors)
  • Impressive integrations with many, many systems
  • The mobile app could use a view that shows scheduled emails and automations.
  • I'd prefer more integrations on the starter level of subscription.
I've worked with more than five major competitors and now recommend ActiveCampaign to clients (especially if I manage their client account) because it is a simple system that doesn't require coding knowledge in order to get a professional result, has great deliverability, good metrics into constituents, and integrates with the major systems I use with clients like WordPress, Divi, AccessAlly, MemberVault, and other membership site plugins.

If a client is looking for a very simple system for email deliverability without the need to integrate with other systems and/or to know more than very surface-level metrics, I'd consider ActiveCampaign but wouldn't necessarily recommend it since the smallest level of subscription is more than some competitors who offer basic email marketing features for low-cost or free. If you're serious about funnels, integrations, and/or constituent metrics, this may be for you!

We are using ActiveCampaign as a link generation tool, email campaign tool for our customers and are very satisfied with the tool.

We compared AC to other tools on the market and concluded to use AC as it is the clear market leader.

  • user handling
  • feature set for email sequences
  • mobile interface on smartphones (app) is missing
Active Campaign is well suited for the automation of email sequences and up/downsells for our products. Also for user handling and email broadcasts, it can be used perfectly. We are using it as a CRM System as well.
Only the user interface on mobile phones is poor (the app is missing )
