It looks like a good enough product, unifying messaging to many social media platforms. However, given my experiences, I have a hard time being positive about this product. I barely used the product, only creating a free trial account to see how some functionalities worked. Can't really comment more on this.
  • Managing social media accounts
  • Managing social media feedback
  • Unifying social media accounts
  • Shady business practices [in my opinion]
  • Responsive support
  • Don't automatically convert trial accounts into yearly subscriptions
I started a free trial. I automatically got charged 585€ for a yearly subscription. I then talked to support, who told me they could refund the charge. After which they stopped responding. A little search turned up this is a very common occurrence [I believe]. I have blocked my card and contested the charge with my bank.

In my current role, I use Hootsuite to monitor and evaluate our social media content on LinkedIn and Twitter, while also following relevant mentions or colleague content. The platform allows users to go to a single place and view all current, scheduled, and past content across multiple social accounts rather than going to each account.
  • Organizes social media content in a single platform
  • Aggregates results in dashboard
  • Allows for cross team collaboration
  • Integration into Pardot and Salesforce is lacking
  • Limited creative flexibility
  • Interface is not intuitive for some specific features (e.g. draft content)
Hootsuite's feed view is very helpful and I use it most often. It allows me to see the social media feed for all of my organization's accounts in one place. The previews are effective and true to each social media platform. The scheduling features work very well, and it is easy to post simultaneously across various platforms. However, you cannot schedule simultaneously if you use bespoke URLs for different social accounts (e.g. Twitter vs LinkedIn) Having multiple team members schedule social media posts to work flawlessly, and various types of media all post seamlessly.

It helps me a lot when I´m trying to organize and execute our social media strategy. It [allows] me to implement in just one day our entire week (even month sometimes) calendar of social media content in our platforms (Linkedin, Instagram, and Facebook). I even use their own calendar and analyze contents I've already posted in the past.
  • Calendar to organise
  • Programming post
  • Check mentions and messages
  • Sometimes I have connection problems with IG
  • More features in basic plan
  • Simple interface
It is very good to save a lot of time just publishing and programming posts in one day, instead [of doing] it day by day. Also [it's] good to easily see your past content, in order to, think what else we can talk about. I don't think it is the precise tool to chat with your potential customers. I prefer to do it directly in IG or FB.

Hootsuite gives our very small team the capacity to operate like a larger team. We can post across many social media platforms, with access to deep content development tools and in-network tools. Instagram stories can be scheduled with the use of the Hootsuite App and dropped to social with minimal taps through the system. Analytics are great and reports are customizable, can be saved and distributed to stakeholders. We have added efficiencies by utilizing tag options, campaign, and short link structuring, effectively helping us control and track content across different social media platforms. The recent acquisition and integration with SparkCentral [have] an ability to view overall messaging and way more.
  • Hootsuite's dashboard setup is highly customizable and intuitive.
  • Hootsuite's analytics tools are constantly audited and updated, resulting in increasingly useful reporting.
  • Hootsuite's user management setup is fast, efficient, and utterly awesome. From invites to sharing existing dashboards, it makes onboarding new employees a snap.
  • Hootsuite is reliably working to remain consistent through product upgrades and keep up to date with partner product changes, but it could always be done a little faster.
  • Printing styles for analytics reports are less than ideal.
  • Integrating add-on tools to the main system is likely in progress, but not yet a reality, requiring users to have multiple places to check.
We use Hootsuite primarily for managing social content across owned properties. In this regard, we still need to use a few additional tools depending on how and what we need to post. Instagram stories tools are great, but loading video to IGTV and Reels does become problematic, requiring team members to navigate to Creator Studio to complete the task. Hootsuite has untapped opportunities in compiling story analytics and could work to improve the system there.

We used Hootsuite to monitor our social media pages and respond to customers and employees. While the product is designed to monitor multiple social media platforms, we found that some posts were missed, so we would have to double-check several pages natively. This was time-consuming and required more manpower.
  • Monitored multiple accounts
  • Monitored multiple platforms
  • Clean, easy to read design
  • Easy to navigate and user friendly
  • Would frequently miss posts requiring double checking
  • Did not send email notifications
  • Did not provide statistical analysis
Hootsuite works well for the majority of platforms and accounts, but it does miss posts [that] require double-checking the platforms. Hootsuite enables users to respond from the tool, which is very helpful and time-saving. However, due to missed posts, replies must be logged and monitored so double posts are not an issue. This takes additional staff and revenue which could be saved if Hootsuite gathered all posts across all platforms

Social media scheduling and management, including analytics and reporting. We program Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Insta content via Hootsuite, reactive posting tends to be done individually rather than via Hootsuite, depending on the circumstances. In terms of reporting, we pull monthly aggregates for the exec and Board. Reports also form part of our sponsorship/advertising media kit.
  • Easy to see mixed overview at a glance
  • Intuitive reporting
  • Easy to use interface
  • It's more difficult to adapt posts to different socials - it'd be great if there was a canvas-like mechanism to automatically reformat image size, etc for each social account.
I think it's an excellent starter kit for social management. Where it falls down, for us, is that it doesn't always play well with our other platforms - we're probably going to move to Zoho Social shortly as we already have Zoho CRM and use Zoho Campaigns. As previously mentioned, my dream functionality would be an auto reformat/format optimization for different platforms.

Hootsuite helps me keep relevant and congruent social media posts across various social media platforms. The new interface is much improved, would like to see auto cropping for Instagram included someday. It is great to be able to tweak the posts for each platform without having to keep track of several different windows and tabs.
  • Scheduling
  • Reporting
  • Editing
  • Instagram interface
  • Laggy interface at times
  • Provide stock images through something like unsplash or pixabay
Hootsuite is fantastic and helps me keep track of most of the social media accounts that I work with. I would like to see more social media platforms such as TikTok added and maybe have some basic video editing like the built-in photo editor. Hootsuite is a lifesaver when you have a small team to work with!

As resellers of Hootsuite, we implement the Enterprise package in companies that are looking into using a tool where multiple agencies and products manage their social media channels in one basket, measuring ROI and mapping out touchpoints for clients through a customer journey. What works in Hootsuite's favor, is the easy-to-use interface to multiple social networks from a single dashboard.
  • Bulk scheduling
  • Setting up multiple team members to manage multiple products
  • The ability to manage Facebook, Twitter, Instagram & LinkedIn on a single dashboard
  • Tracking team performance for multiple agencies and users
  • The set up/creation of Tags to categorise pain points
  • An integrated ROI Dashboard in the Analytics section
  • A basic sentiment analysis and share of voice analytics section
The ability to integrate other apps into Hootsuite is quite easy even for the not so techy users. Scheduling posts in advance proved to be a winner with most team members. There's been greater team collaboration when multiple agencies are involved in product and campaign launches. Tracking customer service for teams has never been easier.

Hootsuite demonstrated itself to be a valuable asset within our organization. We manage many social media accounts and coordinating logins, accounts, posts, and audience engagement [were] quite difficult. Before Hootsuite, there were many times where we missed posting deadlines or had someone forget their login info, etc. It was a struggle to stay on top of it all. Hootsuite definitely has improved social media management and has made it easier to not only be reactive with social media, but proactive! It is extremely helpful that Hootsuite offers the ability to assign posts and comments to other users. I also enjoy that Hootsuite allows us to follow other accounts and listen on different social media channels.
  • Hootsuite is great for scheduling posts. I can easily push the same content out on multiple platforms.
  • Hootsuite is great for assigning posts and tasks to other users within the organization. It makes it easy to track who will be responding to which specific posts on which specific platforms.
  • Hootsuite offers a helpful listening feature that allows organizations to monitor conversations and brand mentions across multiple social media channels.
  • An issue I ran into was having to upload the same image across multiple posts/platforms.
  • The price of Hootsuite is also a big concern. Compared to other social media management tools, it definitely falls on the expensive side.
  • I've run into difficulties when trying to post stories on Instagram and/or Facebook. It is less streamlined than it could be.
Hootsuite is a must-have if you are a large organization that has many social media accounts across many platforms. It is also a must-have if you have a lot of users that help manage social media. Hootsuite allows different administrative "tiers" that allow various privileges for users. You can set some users to need to have posts approved by an administrator, for example. Hootsuite is also helpful when it comes to scheduling content ahead of time. If you are limited on time, you could sit down and schedule a week or month's worth of posts in one sitting. Hootsuite does social media management very well. If budget is an issue, be sure to take Hootsuite's price into consideration when comparing it to other social media management tools. Some do similar things for cheaper.

I really enjoy using Hootsuite for all my social media marketing because it saves me time when posting. I love that I can reply to everyone on one platform. They have made things even easier with the ability to customize each social media platform I use so that I can tag other companies or individuals in my posts. I would recommend this product to anyone.
  • Time management
  • Client dashboard
  • Easy scheduling
  • This platform is not really supportive of LinkedIn as it sometimes does not allow you to tag different videos on your personal accounts with this platform.
  • I feel that the amount of channels we can manage with the Pro account is not enough.
  • The initial set up could be a little easier.
If you are in charge of multiple social media sites for your company using this product will save you time.

We use Hootsuite to schedule our social media posts. Having to post daily on each social channel is a time killer and just not efficient. With Hootsuite, we were able to schedule a whole month of content upfront and adjust as necessary during the month. The software also offers us a way to keep an eye on mentions and messages.
  • Social posting on various social channels all at once
  • Keep an eye out for mentions and messages, replies, retweets, etc.
  • The UI seems old now, [it] needs an update.
  • [The] analytics [are] not always accurate.
  • The streams panels can get overwhelming, there should be a better UI for this.
It's expensive and there are other tools that you can use in your daily business that include some of the same capabilities as Hootsuite so you get more bang for your buck. When scheduling a post for multiple social networks, there's no way to customize each one. A big barrier is Twitter which only allows for a certain amount of characters so you are forced to keep the content under the amount allowed on Twitter for all other channels (that allow a lot more characters) or you have to make a separate post for Twitter which kind of takes away from the efficiency of posting on all channels at once.

Hootsuite is an incredible tool to utilize for social media posting optimization as it allows you to pre-schedule posts. You no longer have to ensure you log in during peak hours, as Hootsuite will post your pictures and blurbs automatically! • User friendly

  • Peak time optimization
  • Social media engagement

We use Hootsuite to manage and analyze the social media accounts for our portfolio of practices. Before we would work independently in each platform with no real way of consolidating them - Hootsuite solves that problem by bringing them all into one dashboard where we can draft, schedule, and analyze social media posts and [activities].
  • Analytics dashboard is easy to customize and interpret.
  • You can now customize posts for different platforms in a bulk draft and schedule workflow, making it easy to make the appropriate edits to a post based on the platform it's on.
  • Pulls in messages from each social platform which makes it super helpful to manage when you have tons of messages coming in.
  • I don't love the calendar in the "publisher" feature.
  • I haven't found the "streams" feature particularly helpful.
  • It would be nice if it was collaboration-friendly so multiple team members could work on things together.
I love using Hootsuite to plan on content a month in advance. Since I plan and schedule so far in advance, I find myself needing to edit or move things around and Hootsuite makes that super simple and easy to do. Hootsuite allows you to post to Instagram Stories which I haven't found on other platforms - we use this all the time! Their reports tool creates really digestible graphs and charts that can be shared with your broader team.

Hootsuite is very user-friendly and had all the functionality I needed to run four social profiles for a small non-profit. I enjoy that Hootsuite can schedule the post to multiple platforms at once, and it sends automatically to the accounts rather than needing to push them through manually, like some other platforms [such as] Later. I have also used Sprout which has more advanced options than Hootsuite which [is] likely not necessary if you are considering [it] for a small organization.
  • User friendly
  • Multi-platform scheduling
  • Nice calendar layout
  • Social listening
  • Hashtag insights
  • Inbox management
Hootsuite is perfect for small non-profits or small businesses where social media is a one-man show - rather than a department. It is less great for huge companies who need more advanced features.

Hootsuite was used as a collaboration tool for scheduling, creating, publishing, and monitoring content for the organization. It was also used as a content management platform for templated responses to member inquiries as well as photography/video assets.
  • Streamlines collaboration process for internal marketing & creative associates
  • Manages multiple social media channels in an effective manner from one platform
  • Provides thorough and robust social media analytics for owned channel performance
  • Monitoring of competitors
  • Manages process for addressing incoming messages/inquiries in a seamless manner
  • Improved monitoring for Instagram content
  • Missing functionality: monitoring competitors' Facebook pages
  • Facebook hashtag monitoring/search
Hootsuite is best suited for organizations that are just starting to organize their social media marketing efforts. It is very user-friendly and extremely straightforward. My colleagues were at first very apprehensive to use the platform; however, once they were trained and see how it actually functions, they grew to LOVE it in a matter of days and became experts in no time. I find that it is less appropriate for organizations that are more "mature" in terms of their social media maturity level and have several accounts, teams, and individuals managing social media because at that point they should be advancing to a more robust platform.

We currently utilize it globally at my company. I personally use it daily for scheduling social media posts, reviewing trends and updates, and seeing what other sites across the globe are posting. Mainly though, I use it for scheduling social media posts. Utilizing Hootsuite has enabled me to plan more strategically, [quickly], and [more easily] than directly posting to each platform. It has also helped greatly with idea sharing globally.
  • Schedule posts ahead of time
  • Global content sharing
  • Saving time
  • Saving resources
  • Networks frequently disconnect
  • Tagging other accounts is hit or miss
  • Enterprise setup and implementation was lengthy and time-consuming
I use it both personally for freelance work and professionally with my global organization. It works well for both uses. It has its pluses and minuses but is one of the best (next to SproutSocial) in my humble opinion. The setup and implementation [weren’t] the easiest and it often disconnects networks (which is a pain).

We use Hootsuite to schedule social media posts, come up with content ideas, and collaborate on social media content. It allows us to have our social media work streamlined and easy to access with a variety of users. We use it for our own social media and for our clients' social media.

  • Sharing content across platforms
  • Filtering out to see only content that is applicable

Hootsuite is great for most organizations who need a social media management and scheduling tool. For people who use TikTok, Snapchat, and Pinterest frequently, I can't speak to how well it works. Our creative agency uses Hootsuite to schedule and publish social content across a range of social media platforms for a variety of CPG brands and b2b clients.
  • Good all-in-one tool for social media management
  • Makes scheduling/posting across social platforms super easy
  • Generates analytics reports
  • Pricing can easily balloon as additional services, accounts, integrations are needed
  • In past, sometimes had problems probably displaying media when published (images, GIFs, videos)
  • Have to use OWLY short links or pay for expensive custom link generators
Hootsuite used to have one of the best free services out there for small and midsized organizations' social posting needs. But once our agency needed to scale (i.e. adding more clients and/or more social accounts), Hootsuite quickly became a less-affordable option relative to the other social management services out there.

Allows our team to schedule social posts for our clients as well as our agency. Compared to other social tools, such as those integrated with marketing automation platforms, it offers more robust and advanced features. Such as the ability to tag people and businesses or remove URLs once the media auto-populates - features that you have if you are posting directly on the social platform.
  • Tagging people and businesses
  • Selecting or customizing the display image for linked media
  • Easily editing posts or changing scheduled dates
  • Experienced difficulty linking Instagram account
  • Limited the free version’s number of scheduled posts
  • Differing features or capabilities between linked social platforms
For those looking for a free account while they start to understand the capabilities or don’t have the current budget, Hootsuite recently limited their free account so you can only schedule a few posts at a time. This makes it difficult to grasp the full potential of a robust social scheduling tool. If you are committed to social scheduling and have numerous platforms that require consistent posting, then the paid plans and robust features are a good option.

We use Hootsuite to schedule social media posts on all social handles (LinkedIn, Twitter, IG, and FB) for one of our clients. The platform generally makes it easy to post the following month's content in advance so we are not having to post in real-time or every single day.
  • Easy to use
  • Provides good analytics
  • Provides good external content (webinars, blog posts, etc.)
  • Reconnecting profiles (I have to do this often)
  • The platform is routinely down and not available to use
  • Platform sometimes does not schedule my posts as planned
Hootsuite is really easy to use and user-friendly. When my colleague trained me on how to use it, I was able to pick up schedules for the client within a day. I joke that it's so easy to use, my dog could probably figure it out. My problem with Hootsuite is that [in my experience] it's routinely down for maintenance or is just not available, so I have to go back and schedule posts that may not be the best time for me. Hootsuite is perfect for small businesses or startup companies that need to automate social scheduling. It allows us to plan out large amounts of content without having to constantly log in, post natively, and monitor. It also allows for great collaboration between team members during approval processes prior to live posting.

I use Hootsuite to manage the 50+ social accounts for my company. This is across Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter. Hootsuite helps to make bulk posting a breeze and helps with my time management. One feature on Hootsuite that I recently discovered and love is the Bulk Composer. This is especially useful for Twitter scheduling. Being present on each of our accounts is so important, so being able to consistently push content out is crucial. This feature allows me to do that without the hassle of logging into each separate account. Working for a company with so many social accounts can be overwhelming. Hootsuite helps me manage and increases my productivity. One last thing, Hootsuite is always changing and improving [its] platform. Each month I notice new tools to help make my life easier. And the pricing is much better than competitors, which is always a plus.

  • Bulk posting
  • Engagement
  • Constant improvements
  • Ease of connecting accounts. I have issues connecting certain accounts and then dealing with them disconnecting on their own.
  • This may not be on Hootsuite, but not being able to post to multiple Twitter accounts at once is definitely a disadvantage.
Hootsuite is great for companies that need to push out a lot of content to [many] different platforms. It is also great for being able to monitor engagement across [these] platforms all at once. It may not be as helpful for a smaller, more intimate audience.
