We use Paycor for our biweekly payroll for our entire company. Paycor saves us a tremendous amount of time with all FICA, state, and local taxes.
  • Taxes.
  • We are able to customize each payroll.
  • It easily runs bonus payroll.
  • There's no one person of contact.
  • It can be difficult to get to a specialized department with questions when necessary.
For our purposes, Paycor does a great job. We do not use the HR functionality. When there is a problem, it can be difficult to get sorted out because you are always speaking to someone new.

Paycor has been processing our payroll since before I came to work here 10 years ago. We are a law firm of 2-3 employees. We have have various representatives over this time and each one of them have been very courteous, professional and very helpful. We switched to automatic deposit about one year ago and that has really saved me some time.
  • Excellent customer service.
  • Easy to read reports.
  • Taxes are always paid on time.
  • When I call, the system asks for my client ID. When a representative comes on, I am asked for my ID again. It's a little thing, but why ask again?
  • My payroll runs monthly on the 29th. For June, the payroll should have run on the 28th because the 29th was a Saturday. If I hadn't called on the 28th to ask why the payroll wasn't automatically deposited in our accounts, the payroll never would have run because no one works on Saturday.
  • Enclosing a copy of all W2s in the end of the year packet would be easier for me, rather than going online to print them out.
My experience is very limited with Paycor since we only have 2 full time employees and occasionally, we have an hourly employee. That hourly employee is paid bi-weekly, so I call Paycor and give the representative the gross amount of the employee's payroll amount and he or she gives me the net and emails me a pay stub. Paycor's customer service reps are well suited for their jobs. I have never had a rep in a bad mood or just be nasty. I've never had a bad customer service experience.

We use Paycor to process our Bi-weekly payroll. We also use their time and attendance module for time-keeping. It is used across the whole organization. We also use their ACA module.
  • Very responsive to questions and excels at offering training opportunities.
  • The system is intuitive.
  • There are a great number of data points that can be pulled for reporting purposes.
  • Their system could use a way to view data/analytics without having to pull a report for Excel.
  • Needs to be an easier way for companies to create new time designation on time cards.
  • The time off request functionality could use some finer tuning for people making requests over two weeks.
Paycor's systems are very well suited for time keeping and payroll processing. The reports, while customizable and have a lot of data points, could use a few analytical functions. The Time Off request needs some work because if someone requests time off over multiple weeks (i.e. either more than 1 week of time off, or a midweek to midweek request), it has to be submitted as multiple requests, or the hours get front loaded instead of correctly applied.

We use it to onboard new employees, process payroll, and reimburse expense reports.
  • Onboarding: it automatically fills in forms with personal information and you can easily see how the process is progressing.
  • Task list: this is helpful in onboarding employees as several different people are involved in the process.
  • Reporting: it has more reports than you would ever need as well as the ability to create and customize your own.
  • The option to not display completed tasks. I feel I have to read them all to ensure they are complete
  • Easier navigation in changing a salary. It's not very intuitive.
  • Price of applicant tracking: it is high for a smaller company who may not use it much.
For any company with an intensive onboarding process. It does this very well. The applicant tracking system and benefits pricing structure is cost prohibitive for a small business.

We currently utilize the core HR, payroll, benefits, and ACA modules within Perform. We also utilize Time on Demand for time and attendance. HR, Payroll, and Accounting are the primary users; outside of those departments, department managers have access to Time on Demand in order to view and approve time cards.
  • Perform has a very user-friendly interface
  • Time on Demand isn't user friendly for the employee or the administrator.
  • Benefits module is challenging to set up to our needs.
  • Perform and Time on Demand are not fully integrated which in turn requires double the work at times.
Paycor is not an ideal solution for organizations with robust time keeping needs.

We use it to run payroll and to house HR information as well as benefits. It is used by the Payroll and HR department. The employees use the self-service module as well. It was getting cumbersome for the HR department to enter all the employee personal changes, so using the self-service module, it helped free up time for other tasks.
  • Customer Support: Customer support is very helpful when issues arise.
  • Benefits admin: We used the benefits module for our open enrollment last year and it was sooo much easier! Not having paper enrollments and manually entering the information has saved us tons of time.
  • Payroll
  • Reporting: The reporting has changed recently. Some very useful reports I used to use all the time are gone.
  • Total compensation statements that are canned in the reporting section do not pull accurate information. It's accurate in the employee's page, but when it goes into the report, the information is different.
  • Transferring employees to another company within the same organization is not efficient. We have to terminate them and rehire them. The transfer button (which is new) only transfers a little bit of information and there is a lot of manual entry that has to take place.
A place to house all your HR/payroll/benefits info. Training tracking is not very robust and performance appraisals could be more customizable.

We use Paycor for all of our payroll needs. We call our times in every Tuesday and they send us a pre post journal for our review and approval. They are always accommodating to our needs or last minute requests. I am the one who manages payroll so I am the one who mainly talks or emails with our account rep.
  • They always make sure they ask if there are any new changes to the company to make sure you are the most current with all the information needed for payroll.
  • Paycor has many team members available so when you call in and your particular rep isn't available then you can always talk to someone else just as professional and kind.
  • They always operate with the most professionalism to make sure you feel like the most important client they have!
  • I have always had my concerns addressed and solved so there isn't much to say negatively about Paycor
In the past, we have just called in our hours and then told that payroll was processed but there had been a few instances years ago where there was miscommunication over the phone so the correct number of hours reported wasn't right and employee paychecks weren't correct. We put in a request to have the pre post journal sent to us for review and we double check it and then email Paycor of any changes or that they're authorized to process it.

We use Paycor across our entire organization. We addressesd a big concern in the beginning and chosing a vendor that was relevant with the current technology.

  • To be honest I can't think of a con against Paycor. We may be the only Con because the system offers a lort of bells and whistles that we don't use due to the size of our company.
Paycor is well suited in staying up with guidelines and keeping you informed. They handle a lot of back office stuff that my team used to have to deal with and we no longer have to handle it. Paycor is well suited to add changes to your payroll program.

Paycor is being used across the whole organization. This product addresses challenges related to employee timekeeping, payroll reporting, new hire procedures and benefit tracking. The product provides integrity in all aspects of payroll and H.R. functions by providing a comprehensive platform for reporting and maintaining accurate time keeping and employee files.
  • Paycor provides comprehensive payroll reporting for deep dive analysis on all aspects of payroll. Paycor allows for standard reporting and is particularly adept as providing custom reporting to fit the needs of our operation.
  • Paycor provided an accurate time keeping mechanism through Time on Demand. This gives the user an isolated platform for which to review and enter time, schedules, and other information for each employee without the need to log into a separate platform.
  • Paycor's reporting system is efficient. Reports can be generated within seconds and saved for future use making it easy to access and revise as needed.
  • The functionality of the time clock could be improved as there are times when adjustments to time are difficult, especially when adjusting from one day to the next in the event an employee "rolls" over past midnight.
  • When using the dashboard in TOD and reviewing exceptions, it is difficult to maneuver from one day to the next with having to go back to dashboard. This functionality could be improved by allowing the user to simply select the next page which should show all exceptions.
  • The Transfer at time of day, period block transfer, and reallocate hours functions are confusing. This could be tightened up a bit and allowing multiple revisions within the same selection would be helpful.
Paycor is well suited for scenarios where there is a centralized location where employees can clock in and clock out using a physical time clock. It has been a challenge getting "off-site" functionality through punch by phone. Additionally, the geolocation function available for "off-site" punches is expensive and inquiries for this service have been met with confusion.

Before we signed up with Paycor it was my responsibility to handle all payroll records; tax filings, reports etc. We are a small dental practice with about 6-8 employees. Paycor was recommended to me by our banking representative @ UMB Steven Kizer. This has been a godsend & has allowed me to focus on other responsibilities. The representatives on call are always very professional & have helped me handle any issues or questions that have come up. I would highly recommend Paycor and have appreciated the relationship we have developed.
  • great customer support
  • allows me to input future payroll to be released the next week (vacations)
  • files ALL tax filings
  • creates W-2's, 1099's & year end reports
  • I honestly have no complaints or critisism for Paycor. This is the first Payroll processing company I have used & they have taken care of our needs in a very professional manner.
In my opinion Paycor is well suited to the small business especially where staff members have multiple responsibilities and do not have a dedicated payroll person.

We use Paycor for payroll and all that comes along with that, such as w-2, keeping track of sick and vacation time, current and previous employee documentation, etc. Being a non-for-profit agency, we have to submit several forms for auditing purposes and Paycor stores everything needed and it's already calculated.
  • Paycor responds extremely fast after an email or call is submitted to resolve an issue.
  • Representatives are very knowledgeable and walk you through any process in question.
  • When speaking to a representative, they are professional and patient.
  • Since 2017, I've noticed some changes which resulted in improvement.
  • Previously, responses were somewhat slow, but that has changed in the last year.
  • During the end of the year, it's busy for Paycor. Perhaps they can hire more representatives during that time to help speed up the turn around time for responding back to questions, problems or concerns.
Paycor is a friendly user program. You can find what you're looking for and icons always show up when they've made changes to better assist its customers. The program also saves EVERYTHING you do in case your system goes out or you have to come back to it later. Representatives are always available to walk you through if you need assistance and it's very easy to follow each step.

I currently use PayCor to manage our regular payroll for our 7 employees.
  • It is extremely intuitive.
  • I have had great support when setting up deduction and benefits.
  • I am very happy with the peace of mind having payroll managed by Paycor.
  • I am very happy with all services used so far.
I use Paycor for basic payroll, 1099 and W2 generation in addition to managing benefit deductions. It has been wonderful so far and very cost effective.

We use Paycor across the whole organization for payroll, time & attendance, payroll tax filing and HRIS database management. Paycor helps us gather the correct time clock information to ensure that we pay our employees correctly and filing our payroll taxes promptly. We also use Paycor for many HR functions, using the HRIS system.
  • Excellent customer service within their Time & Attendance department.
  • Prompt Payroll tax filing for our small business.
  • Time Clock interfaces well with Paycor Time & Attendance system.
  • Improvement is needed is accessibility of Payroll Specialist. Typically when I call, I have to leave a message, which may or may not be returned. Usually, I have to follow up with an email, which is answered eventually.
  • I would like it if they could provide classroom training or 1-on-1 training. I typically learn better that way.
  • Additional training on ACA requirements and services that Paycor provides for ACA would be beneficial, especially when you are new to the system.
The Time & Attendance Representative is extremely helpful and accessible when I have a question. He is always friendly, professional and courteous. I have expressed concern over my current Payroll Specialist because of her inaccessibility. When I first started here, my Payroll Specialist was extremely helpful and patient with me during my learning curve. Since I have a new Payroll Specialist, I have had problems getting my questions answered promptly.

Hourly employees clocking in and clocking out each work day. Employees are entitled to an hour lunch so they are not required to punch out/in for lunch, however, if they have to leave for appointments or other activities that do not involve the office they must punch out.

Paycor manages all of my needs regarding payroll. Very important for my time management! I can be out in the field working, rather than tending to the annoying bookkeeping required as a small business owner. My time is the most valuable thing I have, and Paycor helps to give me more of it :)

I am a very small, 2 employee business. It helps me out an awful lot. I can't imagine Paycor not helping out another business. Larger companies, with more employees I would think could benefit greatly having this kind of help with regards to anything dealing with their workers. The time it saves me is super.

My company uses Paycor to do payroll and taxes. Paycor handles our W-2s and our 1095-Cs. They pay our income taxes and child support for us. We use both the direct deposit options or our employees have the option to receive a physical check. We also are integrated with our company that does 401k, meaning an employee can do a change on the 401k website and it will automatically change on Paycor without me needing to do anything.
  • Anyone can do payroll on Paycor, it is very simple, point, click, fill in the blank.
  • It is nice not to have to worry about submitting taxes.
  • It is not user friendly giving an employee access to see their pay stubs. The layout is very odd.
If you want control over your standard pays without having to put too much thought into it, I would say this is the program for you. I do sometimes wish there was a way to have my employees hours automatically be put in without me having to run them and type them in.

We use Paycor to process our payroll. It is used throughout our diocese.
  • Very easy to navigate! It is very easy to add a new employee. The system takes you through each step with lots of good information.
  • Customer support is awesome! When I was first learning, I called in several times and each time was a very pleasant experience.
  • Trustworthy! It is a big help having everything calculated and having all necessary tax paperwork prepared and filed for me.
  • I have not come across anything I don't understand or that should be fixed.
For small businesses, it would be ideal. Because most small businesses may not be able to afford to hire someone who has years of accounting experience, especially right away, the Paycor system does a big job very easily! For big business, it is nice because every location can use the same software so management can be assured that everyone is doing the same thing (consistency).

I use Paycor to run/process payroll and remit related payroll taxes to the proper governmental agencies and provide direct deposit to employees bank accounts. I am currently exploring the options available from Paycor related to processing 401K plan deductions.

Paycor is well suited to handle basic payroll for small companies. The lack of direct access to a customer support person with ease makes me question how effective they would be for large enities.

I not only utilize the actual payroll part of Paycor, but the emails I get "Expert Advice to Keep you on Track" on a regular basis help me learn and grow. The one that is sticking out the most right now helped me to put together a benefit packet for the employees. Paycor helps with so many different areas. It's great to get help for so many things right from one place.

I own an insurance agency and we have been using Paycor for 13 years. We use it for our bi-weekly payroll as well as for end of the year processing. Our staff uses Paycor to check their paychecks, PTO time and other reports that help them understand how they are compensated by our agency. I use the reporting features and administration on a weekly basis. It allows me to track my payroll easily, and as that is our major expense in my small business, ease of use and flexibility are extremely important for me. I need a one-stop-shop for this and Paycor truly delivers.

  • Sometimes the search feature for help is difficult to navigate
Paycor has been an excellent partner for my small business. I don't necessarily have need of all the HR benefits they provide, but it is great knowing they are there for me if I do. Their customer service team is great to work with, and they are very flexible with reporting.

It's a simple way for our small company to manage our payroll, with only four employees and monthly paychecks it's quite efficient.
  • All my documents for taxes are well organized and easy to get to.
  • The reminders and e-mails on current issues and changes are very helpful to keep me informed.
  • The system works easily.
  • The people who help manage the accounts are constantly changing so you cannot build a relationship with them.
It might be a bit mroe expensive for smaller companies, I don't know enough to properly answer this.

I am currently using Paycor at a small Nonprofit but used it in the past at a Retail company. While the Accounting Manager at the retail company, I utilized Time & Attendance and Payroll and both worked exceptionally well. Department Managers were able to log in and verify their employees' times. This information was then processed into Payroll. We also tracked paid time off in the Time & Attendance module. The report writing and choice of reports was a huge help in analyzing the data. Customer Service representatives are very knowledgable, friendly and helpful. I highly recommend any sized company using Paycor.
  • Time tracking - both online at retail stores and with hand scanner at warehouse location worked very well.
  • Time was accessed by Department Managers to verify their employees' times and paid time off.
  • Reporting was easy to use and great for analyzing data.
  • Custom Report Writing can be made a little more user-friendly.
  • Choice of fonts in reporting would be a big help.
Multiple locations are easy to track for Time, Attendance and Payroll. Work schedules can be entered and compared to actual data. Payroll Grid is dynamic and informative. System security is top notch and when changes are necessary, they are easy to make.

We use Paycor's time and attendance module, payroll and other products. It helps us keep accurate time for our employees and also keeps attendance for recordkeeping purposes. It is used across our company at three facilities.
  • Good time keeping system that helps us pay our employees accurately.
  • Simple payroll processing that allows us to pay all locations at once.
  • Reporting system to allow us to look at different facets of payroll.
  • Time on Demand is a little difficult to use and hard to get screen shots of some of the menus for documenting procedures.
  • More interaction of the online onboarding. Allow more than just signing off on documents but allowing check offs.
Good for multiple locations to be processed together. Time on Demand could be a little more user-friendly.
