We use it for the entire spectrum of Pre-sales, sales, and post-sales record management. However, we use GetResponse for email marketing, although Zoho CRM does have Zoho campaigns as well. Record management includes lead entry, appointment setting, follow-ups, post-sales support records such as invoices, payment receipts, and the like. It is also our go-to for long-term customer relationship management. Zoho CRM helps us keep a close eye on tele-caller activity and empowers them to schedule such in a very organized way.
  • Customer record management
  • Sales management
  • Salesforce monitoring
Cons
  • Automatic generation of customer web details such as social media activity, etc.
  • Downloading reports to Excel, etc. is still a bit archaic
  • None other for now. We love Zoho CRM
Well-suited for any business that has many customers and especially suited for B2C like ours where there is constant selling to new customers. Thus if you are a sales or marketing-driven business, one has to have this.

  • I love how Zoho CRM seamlessly integrates online forms into the customer database.
  • The Zoho 'Professional' is a good value for small businesss like the one I was at. For $12 mo., Zoho CRM adds inventory, security, and workflow management.
  • Also, the platform allows you to make/create/design forms for use on your webpages.
  • Very strong tool for E-mail marketing. Can draft and layout weekly, monthly or daily newsletters to customers.
Cons
  • Is not as easy as other CRM platforms to "build" your database of customers. (i.e. a little less hand-holding in populating the program)
  • Makes little effort to integrate social media involvement or tracking
  • Although the programs layout is intuitive and easy-to-use, it does not wow one and could have a slightly more attractive and interactive UI
Depending on the size of the company he or she is working for, I would recommend paying $12 a month for the Professional edition because of the workflow and security management features. However, for a colleague more involved in speaking with clients daily, I would certainly recommend the Enterprise edition ($25) because it provides group web chat.

My marketing leads and potentials are safe with Zoho CRM.

We use Zoho CRM mostly to create Potentials/Opportunities. I used to work on the marketing team and used to use it daily. Now I use it on a weekly basis because of my current role. In Marketing, it is integrated with HubSpot. As soon as a lead is pre-qualified on HubSpot, within minutes the lead arrives in Zoho. We then use Zoho to create a potential, which is then consulted by other teams while working on the project. The potential making process is quite easy and straight to the point. The fact that you can add custom data fields that are required to fill in while making new potentials makes data analysis easy.
  • I adore the reports feature. I set up a report which contained the new potentials that were created within that week. It would periodically go to all the stakeholders in the organization.
  • The Dashboard feature is quite amazing. I use it to do various kinds of data analysis. I have created a dashboard where I am able to see the number of potentials that are created from each marketing channel-SEO, AdWords, etc.
Cons
  • I really wish they change the interface of the platform. The interface is quite lifeless and it can sometimes become very unmotivating to work on it.
  • Sometimes, the integration with HubSpot doesn't work efficiently. It can take hours before a pre-qualified HubSpot lead appears on Zoho.
Zoho really becomes useful when we use it to analyze how the marketing department is doing as a whole. We also use it to calculate the ROI of various marking channels. We use data like the number of pre-qualified leads, potentials and closed deals. Downloading the data out of Zoho to do offline analysis is quite easy. We compare the amount that was spent on marketing and closed deals to draw conclusions.
