We leverage UltiPro for payroll, tax services, and some self-service functionality to our employees. We strongly leverage the BI reporting, document acknowledgment, benefits administration, and UTA features as well. We have experience streamlined processes, automation, and compliance with UltiPro.
  • Tax Services.
  • Setting up scheduled reporting to stakeholders throughout our organization (set it and forget it).
  • Benefits administration for Open Enrollment and Life Events.
  • Document Acknowledgment tool has been incredible for our Policy Manual sign-off for new hires and annual sign-off process.
  • Occasional escalation to get tickets to be processed faster.
  • UTA needs improvement, but understanding that it was originally a 3rd party integrated tool.
  • Cognos Event Studio, Benefits Admin types/plans where free-text boxes are available need to have better formatting capability. When copy/paste content into these fields, the formatting of the text becomes distorted, and difficult to fix.
Great for manager self-service such as cost center or manager changes that happen frequently. Easy to run payroll and off-cycle payroll runs are unlimited for direct deposits. Allows staffing to scale up or now without adding to payroll or benefits staff. Would not recommend for multiple subsidiaries (i.e. separate companies with different tax IDs) as these come at a cost and can be tedious to setup.

The whole organization uses it, in that all employees use it for self-service. The H/R and Payroll departments use UltiPro for all functions from hiring to paychecks. We import into it from our application software and from our two timekeeping systems. We perform payroll time function in-house. It enables to be 100% direct deposit and employees receive/see their paystub electronically. We also post our W2's electronically and Ultimate prints them for us as well. They provide an integration for employees with TurboTax.

UltiPro is currently being used across the whole organization and one business problem Ultimate addresses is how employees maintain their time and it provides multiple ways to accommodate Cavco, such as employees using time clocks or logging in thru their computer.

The most important business problem addresses is that UltiPro is has a direct relationship with all their modules and is updated straight across the board, i.e. name change will update back-office application (if applicable), UltiWeb Portal, UTM, Employee Directory, Community Broadcast, Recruiting and Benefit Exports.

  • Customer Service, People First and the willingness to help
  • Technology, that encompasses amazing features such as Document Knowledge
  • Ability to allow all your systems to interface with one another, even if it's not an Ultimate product
  • I've been with Ultimate for a long time supporting clients that use Ultimate and there are no features that are hard to use and [they] don't need job aids or specialist for assistance.
  • To my knowledge, there are no missing functionalities or anything else I would like to see differently. Ultimate never ceases to amaze me with functionalities done thru their daily maintenance window and ready for clients to use immediately.

We've experienced deep dives with other companies for comparison for services we currently use with Ultimate such as Managed Services, Business Intelligence/Cognos Analytic, Payroll, building interfaces along with many custom features such as the GL; to establish if perhaps we were missing out on the latest and greatest.

Hands down, none had all the features and functionality we currently use.

We use UltiPro to process payroll and benefits. It is used company wide by our managers and staff. Time and attendance are used by all staff. UltiPro helps us to process payroll efficiently and accurately. It also helps us communicate with employees on payroll and benefit matters.
  • I can configure the earnings in any way that I need.
  • I can also configure deductions to meet my needs.
  • It is a platform that can be used from anywhere, including the app.
  • Communicating with other programs. We constantly struggle with integration.
  • Our time clocks are often giving us trouble with punches being pushed out.
  • The billing system is horrible—all the add-ons are billed in different cycles and for different price ranges. It is very confusing.
In-house payroll processing from start to finish. This is hands down the best platform I have ever used. Once we get the employees hired in UltiPro it is relatively seamless. But when we recruit in one program and process in another UltiPro is very stubborn and does not communicate.

UltiPro is our system of records used across our entire organization. We use the system for record maintenance, payroll, benefits, document management and surveys/engagement. The data in our UltiPro system is sent to many vendors to streamline processes and reduce duplicate efforts across systems. We rely heavily on UltiPro's reporting tool, BI, which allows up to send real time data to numerous stakeholders.

We use it across the whole organization. Employees use it to access their pay information, make benefits elections, change dependents, etc. As administrators, it is our system of records and pushes data to other systems, such as our performance management system, Cornerstone. We use it for timekeeping, payroll, reporting, benefits, and so forth.

It has allowed us to run a multi-state company, with all users having access to their information timely. It allows us to reduce manual process (i.e., Open Enrollment).
  • Reporting
  • Single system that provides almost all your HRIS needs
  • Support structure and resources right at your fingertips
  • Easy to use - minimal training needed to end users.
  • One stop shop. They really provide the entire suite of HR system needs.
  • Customer service and communication. They offer great, timely service and are constantly communicating changes in legislation, etc. to their users.
  • Time Management (UTM). It's not very customizable and needs an update.
  • Pricing, specifically for some standard consulting services. Projects are based on a flat rate, but prices are steep.
  • Open Enrollment. System is very rigid- unable to company sessions making it cumbersome to build when you have multiple OE sessions.
  • Performance Management.

Mid-size companies looking for one main platform for all their HRIS needs. It does integrate well with other systems as well if you wanted to use another recruiting or onboarding system.

Ease of use. If you have a less computer savvy workforce, it's pretty easy to use from an employee and admin perspective. Minimal training needed for end users.

Well suited for companies that have many business locations and perhaps does not have HR onsite. Allows managers to enter transactions in the system through a manager self-service and can be directed through an approval process. Also for data-driven companies, has strong reporting tool with scheduled reports, dashboards, etc.

Less appropriate for perhaps a company that has strong scheduling needs. We used UltiPro at my last organization but we had to utilize a different vendor for our timekeeping and scheduling.

We are using UltiPro enterprise-wide in the U.S. and Canada. We have everyone in one payroll system although we still struggle to find a consistent configuration.
  • Ultipro provides a fantastic HCM system. It is very configurable, has great mobility and communication tools.
  • Ultipro training for life is second to none.
  • Excellent reporting tools, again with training for life.
  • Multiple integration tools and with lots of training available.
  • Rehiring employees doesn't auto add the employee role.
  • Some configurable features are not configurable by Company and or Country. This is a challenge when you use Ultipro across borders.
  • Some/many configuration items are not available in BI i.e. mobile app security.
  • File Utility - is only in back office. Why is this not available on the web?
  • Back office in general- this needs to go away.
Ultipro is well suited for a centralized HR/payroll business model.

UltiPro is being used organization-wide. We use payroll, recruitment, onboarding, life events, talent management and perceptions in addition to the basic core system. UltiPro has helped us go paperless by offering solutions in onboarding to provide new hire documents to applicants prior to their first day. They have also released a document acknowledgment feature that has eliminated the need to make hundreds of copies of items and track as they come in.
  • The UltiPro system is easy to implement. We did it with two HR employees and had minimal IT involvement.
  • The UltiPro reporting system is robust and you don't need to be an IT professional to use it.
  • UltiPro's platform configure feature helps you make the system fit your company.
  • While UltiPro offers a lot of wonderful training, it would be helpful to have access to checklists of the full process on items. For example, if you have to add a new location, we have submitted it before to our account manager, but it was never sent to taxes.....we assumed one ticket was the only thing needed.
UltiPro can easily be used for all types of companies. It may be a little more robust for startup companies.

We used Ultipro back office for all US and Canada payroll processing. All employees in the organization had access to the employee self service portal to view paychecks, view W2s, update address, etc. Ultipro addressed our need to keep payroll in house and gave us the tools to do this.
  • Employee portal and online W2s was great in our transition to going paperless.
  • Reporting through Cognos is a great tool.
  • Ultipro is user friendly and relatively easy to learn how to navigate.
  • Common pay agent companies not supported very well.
  • Payroll cannot support employee negative wages making tax adjustments very difficult.
  • Customer service can be difficult to work with and not always helpful.
Ultipro is difficult for companies with common pay agents. Ultipro is good for companies who want their processes all in house; check printing, ACH submission, garnishment processing, tax processing, etc.

We switched to UltiPro because we needed a more robust HR system to compliment our payroll system. We use UltiPro nationwide for HR and payroll needs. We would have better results if we were using UltiPro at its fullest potential (onboarding, timekeeping, etc.).

  • Sales needs a better understanding of what is actually delivered.
  • Having multiple systems for different tasks; we wish everything was in one system.
Multi-state workers: UltiPro allows set up for multiple locations for one worker. Also, having one user ID for workers across multiple companies makes them much easier to identify.

UltiPro is a system of record for employee data such as job, personal, pays. We use third party systems for time and attendance, performance and benefits. UltiPro makes it possible to easily integrate with other systems and have data flow to and from UltiPro. The ability to have business process workflows with approvers configured to fit our requirements has eliminated the need to manually audit employee changes monthly. The business process workflows with approvers greatly reduced our data entry errors. We implemented employee self-service which removed the delay in processing changes for employees personal information such as address & name changes, direct deposit, etc. Our managers have the ability to view employee job-related information without having to contact someone to provide it for them.
  • Integration with other systems.
  • Ease of use.
  • Configuration flexibility and the ability of Administrators to configure tables as needed.
  • Field length such as job title (description).
  • Make it easier to report on Platform Configuration fields in Cognos.
  • Org charts need to be more flexible.
We love the Flexibility / Configurability / Ease of use / Integration with third-party systems. UltiPro listens to its customers! They also have excellent Customer Support.

UltiPro is our total system of record. We are on the enterprise side and utilize it for payroll, recruitment, on-boarding, time and attendance, 1095C administration and we just started with compensation and performance management. It is used by every employee in some capacity. It allows our managers and supervisors to quickly manage time off requests, correct and approve time cards, audit remote punches and see real-time information on their team. Its ease of use is what makes it so valuable. It has allowed us to put in more efficient processes too.
  • UMS is a payroll services division of Ultipro that we use. They process our payroll, manage garnishments and taxes. They do it very well.
  • Providing the necessary technical and system support that is needed. We almost always get someone that is well versed in the module we are working on.
  • System integrity.
  • More space for names and codes.
  • Integrate into one system. We still have to back-office a lot for things that can't be done on the web yet.
  • The Phone App could use some improvement. More specifically in the area of CA law and around meal and rest breaks.
It works great for large companies. There is flexibility in sets ups where there are multiple pay groups, jurisdictions, union and non-union workers. It may not be a good fit for small companies

UltiPro is being used across all of S&T Bank. It is how employees check their benefits & pay & multiple other things. We use it in our department for paying our employees and it's used by my coworkers for 401k and pension benefits. We also use it for time management.
  • I feel like the customer portal is a huge success. It is so nice that if I have a question rather than Googling it I can search in UltiPro's own database to find the answer and know that it is right.
  • I think the time management is amazing. Very easy to understand and very easy to see time cards. If I need to make changes to an employee's paycheck I don't have to go through a bunch of steps.
  • I have only ever worked with UltiPro and I don't have much to compare it to, but I just feel like the overall feel of it and how user-friendly it is, is one of it's greatest strengths.
  • I am still not too familiar with the time management as far as PTO time goes, but I have noticed there seems to be a "disconnect" there when PTO time is put in or removed, some employees see differently than what we do. That has been my only issue so far that I can think of.
It is all around well suited. It is very clean, user friendly, and very much oriented in helping the users and making them happy.

We use UltiPro across the organization. This system has helped us to reduce payroll processing time, streamline data integration, offer self-service tools to employees and managers, enhance our annual compensation review process and most recently, enhance our goal planning process.
  • The Support Teams have been wonderful to work with, very knowledgeable and responsive.
  • The system is always being developed and enhanced to stay current and best meet client needs.
  • Although the reporting tools are very robust, it is somewhat misleading in the beginning with the resource(s) and skill level that will be needed to really take full advantage of the reporting capabilities.
  • I would really like to see enhancements to the security elements of Recruiting to better meet each clients needs rather than a structured role approach.
  • I would love to see capabilities to allow the client to add text to workflows that would offer instruction to the employees/managers.

If you are looking for a system that touches all areas of the Employee Life Cycle without bolting on additional products, UltiPro is a great choice. It is very user-friendly and always being enhanced and developed to stay current with technology.

UltiPro is currently our company's Human Capital Management solution for benefits management, scheduling, tax information, time cards, and so much more! UltiPro address the issue of having multiple interfaces by condensing them into one, simple to use interface!
  • The search bar has to be one of the biggest benefits of UltiPro! It may seem like something small but it saves so much time especially when you need to find something immediately. The search bar searches as you type so you should be able to find what you're looking in a matter of seconds!
  • UltiPro is so simple to navigate! Every tab/function is well organized and easy to find.
  • Another great thing is the "Pay" widget that can be added to your main dashboard. It provides the user with a fast and simple way to see your most recent pay statement and your most recent pay date.
  • UltiPro does have a mobile app, however, a very important function is missing. There is no clock-in/clock-out function on the mobile interface! This function would be so beneficial for those employees on the go or who don't want to wait until they are at a desktop to clock in/clock out.
  • Another con is that employees cannot clock in once you log in because there is no widget on the main dashboard. Employees have to search "Time" in the search bar or look for the tab. Having a time widget on the main dashboard would be so beneficial.
UltiPro is well suited for any company of any size! I currently work for a property development company and we have recently switched over from ADP and I firmly believe that this a great substitution. Every single one of our properties, as well as headquarters, use this solution and we all have been loving it!

Ultipro is used across our entire organization. It serves as our payroll platform, HRIS data management system, and will soon serve as our talent acquisition and onboarding product. Many of our employees use this on a daily basis.
  • One of the things Ultipro does well is building an intuitive product. Some systems require a 500 page manual to learn how to properly use, but with any Ultipro product I have felt that I can pick it up and use it proficiently in a few hours.
  • Ultipro does reporting well. They have many useful reports that come standard, but also allow for the creation of ones to meet your specific needs.
  • Ultipro sometimes has issues with large, dynamic organizations. Our system has over 100 hospitals and over 100,000 employees, which has created some challenges while using the core product.
  • In the onboarding module, when an internal candidate is hired, you have to delete them from onboarding, and manually make the update in the core product. This seems redundant and should be addressed as a problem to fix. The feed from onboarding should be able to overwrite data for job changes. We want this system to provide more streamlining and not create extra work.
Well suited in payroll processes and data management, it is also simple to learn and use. It is less appropriate in a large dynamic company with more complexity.

UltiPro is being used by our entire workforce as well as the HR Department across the US. We are able to store all our employee data as well as administer our company benefits through the site.
  • I believe UltiPro does a great job tracking information for our employees as well as for the HR.
  • It is very user friendly and our employees love the self service piece of the program. They are able to elect benefits and update their information directly through the site.
  • The BI reporting is one of my favorite aspects of the system. I'm able to pull reports and send data to different departments in order to solve problems and gather information.
  • In my experience, the file feeds to third party vendors is something I have had problems with. I will say the case management system and support within UltiPro is very fast.
When on-boarding new hires, it is imperative to utilize UltiPro. Uploading I-9 documents is something I wish UltiPro had the capabilities for but do not at this time.

We use Ultipro as our LOB Human Resources solution. While it is primarily used by HR, everyone in the company uses it at times -- managers and directors quite frequently.

We use UltiPro for our HR & Payroll system. We use several different modules in addition to core including UltiPro Time and Attendance, Performance Management, Recruiting, Business Intelligence, Manager Self-Service, Employee Self-Service, Open Enrollment, Life Events and more. We use is company wide. It has helped us take our HR department completely paperless. Our benefits process is completely paperless. It has made our department more efficient and enabled us to keep our data accurate and up to date.
  • Ultipro support is incredible. They are always very helpful and they contact me very quickly after I submit a request.
  • Their product development is always moving at the speed of lightening. They are continually coming out with new solutions for us and developing their current products as well.
  • They make their web portal extremely easy to use as an administrator. Everything is exactly where I think it should be.
  • I would like to see more and more pages opened up for platform configuration.
  • I would like to see more development of the UTA reporting product and mapping into Cognos for Core rather than having to report on UTA data from UTA Cognos.
  • I would like the scheduled reporting feature in UTA to be more reliable.
  • In Performance Management, I would like the ability as an Administrator to add additional contributors for managers and send the reviews to the employees.
  • In Performance Management, I would like the ability as an Administrator to enter review comments for a an Additional Contributor if they for some reason can't get to it.
UltiPro is a great product for companies who are tech savvy. Our law firm is a little less tech savvy than most companies so we have had to overcome a few hurdles, which requires extra support from HR for our users.

Luminex uses Ultipro across the whole organization. In North America it's our core HCM system from paying employee in the US & Canada, to enrolling in benefits to performance management. We continue to leverage Ultipro to our Global markets for HCM tracking, Performance Management and reporting. UltiPro has helped us standardize reporting needs globally.
  • UltiPro gives us ownership of the system, from tables to security. It allows us to configure the system the way we need it to be.
  • We have benefited greatly from the Open Enrollment solution UltiPro offers. It's allowed us to take a very manual process with multiple system entry and stream line it to a one stop shopping. Employee's complete their enrollment on line and their elections are then exported from UltiPro to our benefit partners.
  • UltiPro's global workforce solution allows us to now have one point of access for our global markets data. We no longer have to take days to get a worldwide headcount report. We are very excited to continue to further grow our global functionality.
  • UltiPro's puts their customers first and it shows with everyone you work with at UltiPro. It's a true partnership.
  • Being a SaaS customer allows us to always be update to date and current with the latest functionality.
  • Continue to develop the performance management functionality to include HR ability to reach out to users through email to keep the process flowing.
  • Have the ability to change reporting structure when an supervisor leaves in the termination process.

We use UltiPro across our entire organization. We have several integrations that allow us to push data to other systems, controlling the effect the data has on our employees and processes. UltiPro allows us to automatically load employee records to our POS, allowing the employee to clock in and provide a great experience for our customers. With this automation, we totally eliminate that area of data entry.
  • UltiPro is very configurable. This allows us to address any issues that we would like to automate or optimize.
  • UltiPro software is very logical and user-friendly. We have a large wide-ranging employee base, and it is suitable to all of our employees.
  • UltiPro is always developing new ideas and continuously implementing them. They even listen to customers and implement those most popular ideas.
  • The largest drawback for us is the cost of customization. While we always try to use the standard features, if we do need a customization, it can be costly.
  • There are times that customer service can be challenging. That being said, if you keep in contact with your representative and let them know your dissatisfaction, you will succeed in having a customer service contact assigned to your company.
  • Response time on issues can drag out. If that happens, I will escalate the issue to get resolution.
Our business model is growth by acquisition. We have configured UltiPro to be very scaleable. Very easy for growth.

We use Ultipro across our organization. We are a very diverse holding company with hotels, a bank, an oil refinery and a large c-store presence. We implemented Ultipro about 4 years ago and our employees love it. They love the convenience of being able to access anywhere and being able to get information and answers themselves. It also addresses having all HR, Benefit and Payroll, plus company information in one easy to access place. We have over 6000 employees across 10 states, with turnover about 150% and Ultipro makes it easy to manage all things related to employees.
  • I love the ease of accessing employee data. As an HR Professional, we are in UltiPro many times during a day and it is very easy to use and pleasing to the eye.
  • Payroll is very easy with UltiPro. We are able to easily manage our numerous companies and their payrolls with a very small number of employees. The system is very user friendly and can import almost any type of time file. Thus adding flexibility to companies when converting.
  • UltiPro has a very easy to use Performance Management module. It allows for reviews to be configured many different ways and they are easy for employees and managers to complete. This alone has saved a ton of time for our employees and managers.
  • Ultipro provides great employee self service. Employees can do most tasks themselves, this relieving HR of providing many tasks employees can do themselves.
  • Ultipro is large enough to handle even the biggest companies. It scales easily and doesn’t need a specialized programmer to do it.
  • While every software has items that users may not like. UltiPro has some also. But the best part about UltiPro is that they are always taking customer feedback and improving the product. We had only been with UltiPro 6 months when they implemented 2 of our suggestions. I think this is the best part about UltiPro.
  • All transitions to a new HRIS are a bit challenging. As I have converted 2 companies to Ultipro I have seen both. As long as your implementation team is dedicated and focused on the implementation it will go smooth. If you are one person doing the implementation, I urge you to get a team to help make it smoother.
I have implemented UltiPro in 2 companies. One about 500 employees, and my current company with over 5000 employees. I found that it works equally well in both small and large companies. With my current organization, we have many locations, and UltiPro works well to keep our employees up to date and all information in an easy to navigate location.

UltiPro is used throughout McFarland Clinic to include Human Resources, Accounting, clinic-wide department managers and all employees access their employee record on UltiPro's web environment. It is our one true source of employee data from hiring to benefits to payroll to our general ledger. It also provides paperless access for all employees to view their employment, benefits, and payroll records.
  • Providing excellent support regarding any issues or questions that pop up through the submission of online tickets.
  • Providing fast payroll related support when payrolls are being processed, errors occur and you need to complete payroll processing quickly.
  • The web access for all employees is great. Employees can access information regarding their employment, benefits and payroll records.
  • I've heard talk about UltiPro removing access to the back office environment. Although the web environment is great too, I cannot imagine not having access to the back office since I access it regularly for my job. It seems for me, the back office contains more easily accessible data that I could not do as easily without.
  • I wish the PTO accrual rollover at year end would have an option to run separately from payroll processing. We select to rollover accrual balances and then accrue as of 01/01 every year, however, if someone has been paid PTO on the first paycheck of the year, it reduces the employees PTO balance before the rollover occurs rather than after the rollover in the currently year.
I think with UltiPro the reporting functionality through Cognos/Business Intelligence reporting has been great for the most part. However, I do find it frustrating at times when fields are named differently between viewing them in the back office or on the web and in the tables used for reporting. It can be difficult finding the correct field at times.
