It is well suited in a professional environment - for example business meeting, job interview, or call with a client. You just sent a link and invite participants this way. No need to have their username and so on (like you do for Skype). This makes it ideal for professional use. It is less appropriate for personal use - for example talking to your friends on zoom. Much better to use FaceTime or another app for that.

I have used a variety of applications quite similar to Zoom, but Zoom is different from all other applications in terms of being user-friendly and requiring low bandwidth internet connectivity. I have not seen any problems with Zoom yet. I would recommend it to anyone who feels that the internet connectivity is not fast enough, because Zoom is better than other similar applications.

I would 100% recommend Zoom if they need a conference platform or a platform for clients where they will need to record their calls. But due to all the fuss of the software, sometimes it's easier to just use Skype.

Zoom is our best app to use when delivering classroom trainings. Annotations, Screen Sharing, and whiteboards are essential functions for us to effectively deliver our projects to customers. It's a great tool for virtual meetings, presentations, and get-togethers. We use it for internal purposes and for all our client meetings. The process is smooth, it integrates with Google calendar and it's easy to set a meeting up. Once on the call, the quality is great and it has some cool features like screen sharing, taking remote control over someone's screen, presentation mode, and even backgrounds - in case you work from home or some other setting.

Any virtual meetings, Zoom is a wonderful tool.

For our organization, we give a lot of online demonstrations. Zoom is a wonderful tool for that because not only can we screen share and talk with our perspective clients, but we can also give them controls, take controls from them, and even use a whiteboard to share notes. We have also made multiple recordings to send to them so they can share with the rest of their team. This has been a very powerful tool for us.

Zoom is well suited for online meetings and also suited for recording of lectures that can be useful for those who have missed the sessions because of their personal reasons. It is also beneficial when you have to explain something and can do easily using annotation feature and by using whiteboard feature to properly explain what you want. At the onset of the COVID19 Pandemic, when Zoom became extremely popular, it's lack of security design exposed it to malicious attacks and hackers who were successful in what was popularly known as Zoom bombing. That Zoom managed add security layers after the fact was very concerning. It is good to see Zoom has managed to take care of that. But it will take some more proactive marketing and communication on the part of Zoom to make this a go to app for Large corporate customers to adopt.

Zoom works very well in the consumer world and also seems to be a go-to solution for online classes. Its simplicity and easy access make it a great tool for typical non-users. Most well suited for meetings on a regular or occasional basis with remote teams, learning with groups of any scale, online events, or any other activities which requires communication with remote participants.

The least appropriate scenario where Zoom can be useful is transferring of confidential information due to lack of security capabilities.

Zoom is very good for when someone is at home from work and needs to attend a work-related meeting. It is perfectly suited for demonstrations and live tutorials and can even be used to run a full online course with students from around the world. In my eyes, Zoom really is the only option for video conferencing software suitable for a job like mine. It's quick, easy, and very user friendly for a diverse set of candidates. We also use Slack at HubSpot, and being able to spin up a Zoom with a simple command makes meeting on the fly easy.

Zoom is well suited to host large meetings, and specifically when meetings are long and need multiple sub groups to discuss and come back to a larger meeting.

What is Zoom's biggest strength is also it's biggest weakness. Audio quality is choppy in large meetings and can be a hassle.

It's perfect to schedule a call with a colleague or a client. Just send a calendar invite and include your meeting link. If you need to pick up the phone and call someone without planning it in advance, [I feel] it's not well suited for that.

  • For a company, I can think of no better product than Zoom. It supports a huge amount of users and it works well.
  • I've done whole-day two-person meetings where we worked on an issue together. The screen-sharing function is really great in that situation.
  • We've used Zoom for meetings where some participants were outside using a cellphone, others were traveling by train, and others were in the office. Generally without issues.
  • If you need something that is open source, look elsewhere.
  • If you're a small organization, Zoom might be too expensive.
