I came in after UltiPro was selected. I would recommend not having individuals train on the system until they have access to the system. I came in after and trained on an old system and found out we had the newer version so most of the training needed to be redone.

We use UKG [Pro (formerly Ultimate Software UltiPro)] for payroll, HR information, onboarding, recruiting, performance management utilizing the UKG [Pro] software and non-exempt time management. UKG [Pro] is utilized across the entire organization in several offices. We implemented self-service sometime ago and employees are able to make basic changes to their employee data. The onboarding product and performance management significantly reduced manual paperwork and eliminated the need to hire an HR file clerk to file voluminous amounts of paper. We receive excellent support in all areas.
  • Payroll is exceptional. The support is great and UKG is always timely with implementing new regulations and laws.
  • Maintaining HR data is exceptional. The system is easy to use and the the recruiting and onboarding feeds into the individual hire's data files.
  • Performance Management system has been great. The workflow implemented with the process is logical and allows for proper approvals and reviews.
  • Time and attendance is a little confusing to individuals. Employees become confused when "requesting" time off and waiting for supervisor approval before entering into their timesheet manually. This creates a duplicate entry and needs to be corrected.
  • Designing reports is a little confusing at times. If you are not an avid report designer and only want to design an ad hoc report, it requires some time to get back into the knowledge of how to create a report.
  • Benefits module needs to become more user friendly from the HR programming point of view. About 3 years ago, we tried to implement the benefits module but found it to be cumbersome and found our insurance brokers system much more user friendly for HR personnel.
Payroll processing is done very well. At a previous organization, we utilized another payroll vendor with UltiPro and UltiPro is not well suited where you are utilizing another payroll vendor. It seemed, at the time, that it was very difficult to get UltiPro and the other vendor to work well together. Recruiting and onboarding is another area UKG [Pro] is well suited. The two work very well together and makes e-verify and background checking an easy process.

We currently use HR Core, benefits, recruiting, onboarding, time management/payroll, ACA, and performance development. It has allowed employees to view information much easier than before when most things were hard copy. We have saved so much time and created efficiencies across the company in every one of the areas we leverage UKG.
  • Customer service is awesome! I can put a ticket in with any question and I have someone following up right away by email and phone. I can always access someone to help and everyone is so pleasant.
  • There are no hidden charges! UKG listens to its customers and implements changes to make the user experience better and we don't get charged for them making their product better, which is how it should be.
  • The online training and resources they provide are awesome.
  • The main area would be in the performance management module. We purchased this over a year ago, but wanted something that could function more as a performance development system - real time feedback, no annual reviews, not ratings/etc. and that could easily allow for peer feedback. This wasn't available so we had to kind of hodgepodge things together to make the system work for how we wanted to, but it is definitely clunky and somewhat hard for our employees to grasp because the system isn't designed to do what we are doing.
  • We wish the recruiting system would allow for texting to candidates. We instead had to purchase Google Voice and manage this outside of the system which is a bit of a pain.
The system works great for allowing employees to view and access information and we have really enjoyed most aspects of it. We have found that the benefits program could be a little better as we don't currently use for new hire enrollment because there isn't an easy way to make that process (and each of the screens) different than open enrollment. So, we instead have to do all new hire enrollments hard copy and load and then do open enrollment separately.

UKG was implemented in our organization in April 2020. It is the first HRIS system we used. Being a global organization, we are using it for training, HR, payroll, career development, and recruitment. It is allowing us to oversee all of our global HR processes.

  • Regroup Recruitment, HR, Payroll, Benefits, People development all-in-one.
  • In the ATS, the search for candidates in the database could be improved.
  • Notes/documents from the applicants are mostly linked to opportunities; it doesn't always follow when an applicant is moved from one opportunity to another.
  • We should be able to add notes in the opportunities along the process, not only in the candidate's files.

We use it for payroll administration, HR reporting and business intelligence, employee self-service, manager self-service, compensation, performance reviews (coaching dialogues), surveys (perception), front page for information dissemination and HR information repository, and paperless HR (employee files uploaded into documents).
  • Processing payroll is easy and clean.
  • The survey tool enables us to gather information that is important for decision-making.
  • We were able to set up the performance reviews to allow for our quarterly coaching dialogue process as we don't do traditional performance reviews.
  • Setting up feeds for our benefits providers was problematic and took much longer than it should have.
  • I would like for us to be able to use the front page for videos, etc. Not sure if that's already possible.
  • The training portion should be linked to LinkedInLearning which is our provider of choice and the best option out there for a largely remote and global workforce.
I would like to see a cost-effective option for small businesses with 1-100 employees. I know many organizations and would like to recommend it, but it is not available to my knowledge for less than 100 people. This is a market that I recommend you look into.

  • The new left side menu is difficult to use and to find what you're looking for; the old menu was more condensed which made it easier to find what you were looking for.

Payroll uses UltiPro to process payroll and HR uses UltiPro to maintain employee information.
  • UltiPro has the function to import timesheets which is useful.
  • UltiPro helps to resolve tax notices which saves me time.
  • UltiPro does tax return filings which saves client money to find a CPA.
  • When I process retro pay, I need to do the calculation myself. If the system can calculate it, it will be more helpful.
It is a good system. It is more user-friendly than PeopleSoft. One place UltiPro is not as good at as ADP is running payroll reports one by one. ADP can do payroll reports all at once by clicking one button.

UKG is used across our hospitals and clinics in all aspects of HR and payroll. We are also users of Kronos so we have the "whole" package of UKG. We are so happy with the Reports from UKG. We can build to suit our own needs and/or use pre-made reports. This year we intend to streamline some of our processes with the help of UKG support.

  • Payroll processing is easy to follow with the Gateway!
  • Love the idea of UltiPro and Kronos being "married."
  • We are not big fans of the new UKG Pro Kronos cloud based dimensions!
  • Lots of functionality and usage problems with dimensions!
I am a diehard proponent of UKG. I have worked in UltiPro for more than 15 years in total and have been using Kronos for over 12 of those years. Having the 2 companies combine and become one should help us resolve some major issues we have with wage and/or job changes that often occur in the middle of our pay periods.

UKG PRO is currently being used as our HRIS. Mainly used by the HR department. Access has been given to employees to book days off, view pay stubs, view company documents and policies. We are currently in the midst of installing another module (EFM) so we can become a more paperless organization and have better search and storage measures.
  • Fairly simple and easy to use from an employee's point of view.
  • Clean layout and design.
  • Customer support and training.
  • From an administrators point of view can be a bit messy/confusing defining roles.
  • Some login issues, timeout times seem to be short.
UKG Pro is well suited for our small-medium sized company. When hiring and onboarding new employees, it makes it simple to have all their information in one system. Though I've only been using it for a short time, it's fairly simple and straightforward to use. Support has always been helpful and quick to respond.

We use UKG Pro (formerly Ultimate Software UltiPro) across the whole organization. It is our payroll processing software; our employees use it to make personal information changes and benefits elections, and we will be soon using it for our timekeeping and time-off tracking. We use it for digital documents, such as merit increases, garnishments, changes of status, etc. We encourage employees to access it for all their record needs from W-2s to pay stubs.

We use the solution throughout the entire firm as the HRIS tool for recruiting, onboarding, payroll, and associated taxes therein performance reviews, employee exit.

  • Onboarding: This allows you to easily build a very user-friendly simple but complete web tool for onboarding.
  • Allowing administrators to log into the individual user view to help them learn more about the tool.
  • Reviews section needs to include a simple way to do 360 reviews simply.

Mainly for Payroll and HRIS. We've been able to simplify and stream line a lot of our HR processes throughout the past two years. Our onboarding and recruitment has vastly improved with UKG.
  • The onboarding and recruitment modules are easy to navigate and streamline processes.
  • The learning module has been hugely helpful for our onboard training and safety.
  • There isn't enough support for Canada yet. Releases for the 2020 YE were slow and have impacted our processing. Support with rapid response isn't always timely either as they are trained primarily in the US it seems.
  • Some of the GL functionality isn't very user-friendly. Again help on the learning center is usually geared to US issues so it's hard to find a Canadian solution.
  • Our implantation specialist was not helpful and as a result, we ended up with issues lasting right up until the present.
It's a full-service product so if payroll and HR are working together it's very useful to ensure departments are in the loop of each other's activities. One-stop-shop!

It is used as our HRIS, initially for payroll and timekeeping. We have added recruitment, performance management, salary planning, career development, ACA admin, and employee surveys (perception). Used across the whole organization, but primarily by HR and accounting. We utilize it to better coordinate our performance reviews with our salary planning. We reduce paperwork, increase visibility and engagement, and find the payroll solution to be user-friendly and very accurate.
  • Strong payroll solution.
  • Really effective survey process with Perception—very helpful for pulse of employees.
  • Salary Planning was easier and rate increases more equitable using the software.
  • Mostly just small tweaks would be helpful in salary planning space for comments and better communication between reviewers.
  • Perception could be slightly cleaner in terms of survey reporting in Excel.
  • Would like some simplified options for us as a company on the smaller side.
I would think it could be suited for any company with at least 200 employees. There is so much UKG Pro is capable of, but you need a dedicated team to learn it and implement it.

  • Organization Structures: Only allows one type of structure, a secondary supervisor option would be helpful.
I would recommend it if asked but I don't have a lot of experience with other HRIS systems, so I wouldn't consider myself an expert opinion.

It is being used by all employees. Employees use it for their timesheets and to request PTO. Managers use it to edit and approve timesheets, as well as approve/deny PTO requests. HR uses it to process payroll, post open positions using the recruitment module.
  • Program looks and feels modern.
  • Always making improvements/enhancements.
  • Has rapid response number you can call.
  • Assigns account manager to our account that we can go to if there are issues.
  • More knowledgeable core specialists.
  • Quicker turn around time on open cases, especially cases related to taxes.
  • Rapid response specialists should know core and UTM.
  • Don't do a major upgrade around year-end.
  • It is well suited for our payroll needs.
  • The recruiting module works well for us because we are not a large company and don't have a lot of openings.
  • One of the reasons UKG was selected was due to the tax filing capability. We do not have a tax manager on site. I am not confident when setting up a new state or tax code that it is correct even if I have a core specialist on the phone.
  • When there are variances or misc debits that get deducted from our account, there is no easy way to find out why. The collection detail report only gives a breakdown but does not explain the why so a case always needs to be opened.

We are currently using UKG Pro across our entire company. It addresses all of our payroll and HRIS needs.
  • Payroll processing
  • Employee reviews
  • Timekeeping (has improved with the addition of Kronos but you must pay additional fees).
  • Customer service has dramatically declined since the merger with Kronos.
It may not be the best fit if you are looking for an all-in-one package. Several of the essential services provided are in separate modules which is not very convenient.

- Payroll department to process payroll.
- HR department to manage compensation and wellness.
- Finance department to run report and drive business decisions.
  • Customer service - all the RR calls i had were pleasant and helpful.
  • BI capabilities.
  • Mass update through import file.
  • We had hurdles during initial learning phase, the onboarding team can do a better job but it could be our specific account manager who was let go during later phase.
We like how powerful it can be as long as we master the skills first.

We use UKG Company wide - UKG Core for HR functions and UKG Pro Learning as our LMS (Learning Management System).
  • Easily organizes content.
  • Works well in conjunction with itself - Core vs. LMS.
  • Makes Learning and Development content easily accessible.
  • Customer service is slow to respond on issues.
  • Content organization could be confusing for some users.
UKG Pro Learning has been a relatively new addition for us, and as an LMS, seems to be functioning very well.
