UltiPro is being used organization-wide. We use payroll, recruitment, onboarding, life events, talent management and perceptions in addition to the basic core system. UltiPro has helped us go paperless by offering solutions in onboarding to provide new hire documents to applicants prior to their first day. They have also released a document acknowledgment feature that has eliminated the need to make hundreds of copies of items and track as they come in.
  • The UltiPro system is easy to implement. We did it with two HR employees and had minimal IT involvement.
  • The UltiPro reporting system is robust and you don't need to be an IT professional to use it.
  • UltiPro's platform configure feature helps you make the system fit your company.
  • While UltiPro offers a lot of wonderful training, it would be helpful to have access to checklists of the full process on items. For example, if you have to add a new location, we have submitted it before to our account manager, but it was never sent to taxes.....we assumed one ticket was the only thing needed.
UltiPro can easily be used for all types of companies. It may be a little more robust for startup companies.

We are using Ultipro as our payroll and HRIS system. We recruit, onboard, enroll in benefits, use performance reviews, track PTO all in Ultipro. We have gone totally paperless! Managers have access to appropriate employee data to allow management and reporting of all things payroll and HR via the system.
  • Open enrollment was a tremendous success over prior years. All the options were available, employees made their elections, auditing was easy, and there was no double or triple entry required.
  • Performance Management was much improved for us over prior years, no more emailing, printing, scanning documents back and forth. And all reviews are stored in the system for future reference.
  • Payroll is such a breeze compared to our previous process. Changes are easy to make and the payroll is easy to review before you finalize.
  • The PTO tracking in Core is weak. There is no calendar to show who else on your team is on PTO as there is in UTM. You cannot see when you are requesting PTO how many days you have available. You can request PTO on a holiday or weekend and the system doesn't stop or warn you. You can request more days than you have available and it doesn't warn you. You can enter multiple requests for the same day and the system will allow it. There is much room for improvement in this functionality.
  • Salary grades are not very useful for us. Many of our employees receive a significant amount of pay via commission and bonus. There is no functionality to account for incentive pay in the salary grades.
  • Data feeds have been painful for us to get up and running. I believe it may be the Ultipro consultant versus functionality. We just got assigned a new consultant, so hopefully, we are on the right track now.
The implementation team assigned to us was awesome. They were supportive, talked us through how to set up the system to best suit our structure, trained and coached us to go live. Post go-live it is so refreshing to place a call and get support! The payroll process is very smooth, and we are gradually expanding the HRIS modules; performance reviews, open enrollment, salary grades and Job details...

We use basically every module UltiPro has to offer so it is solving all aspects of human resources: benefits, payroll, time, recruiting, employee surveys, document space, performance reviews, and more. We are a holding company with 8 affiliates all using UltiPro. The security functionality allows us to restrict each company to only seeing info for their specific companies: job titles, salary grades, employee info, etc.

The fact that all these modules are housed in one system makes data integration a breeze. All info is shared internally between modules and externally with vendors through custom-built APIs that can generate on whatever frequency is needed.
  • Data integration is perhaps the best aspect of UltiPro. Employees enter information during onboarding which is transferred to their employee profile. They then enter benefit elections which are transferred to both payroll and benefits modules. There are many interactions like this that make it so easy to use.
  • UltiPro's customer success portal is always a big draw. We're able to put in a case and have it in resolution within 24-48 hours on most cases. They are quick and efficient to correct any issues that may arise.
  • The Perception employee survey tool is one of the most intuitive, advanced tools I've seen. It analyzes open source text responses from employee surveys to extract emotions. It's a great way to gauge employee engagement.
  • The time module (UltiPro Time Management) is somewhat difficult to use but they are rolling out a new time module in 2019 that should replace this.
UltiPro is wonderful for mid-size to large corporations due to the capacity to handle so many modules in one system. Having thousands of employees that have to move from system to system is cumbersome and vulnerable to errors so UltiPro is great for larger corporations to avoid that.

It might be a little complex for smaller companies with too much under the hood.

Our company utilizes UltiPro for all HRIS needs: Recruiting, Onboarding, HR, Payroll, Benefits, Time Management, and Performance Management. It is used across the organization for 900 employees. For us, the move to UltiPro presented an opportunity for a fully integrated HRIS that could manage employee data internally throughout the employee life cycle, and also integrate with external systems as needed.
  • Customizable to suit the organization's unique needs.
  • Very user-friendly for front-end users and back-end administrators.
  • Powerful reporting capabilities.
  • The existing Time Management module has many weaknesses, but these are all being addressed in a new version to be released soon.
  • Service requests can occasionally take a long time to receive attention and be completed, depending on time of year.
UltiPro has worked well for us starting at around 600 employees and now up to 900. The integration between modules has helped automate a lot of manual processes for us. It's a very powerful service that can be used in whatever way best suits the organization. I recommend having an HRIS expert on hand to really help achieve its full potential.

We use UltiPro as our HRIS system across the whole organization. UltiPro has addressed many business problems we were having as our old system was very outdated, manual, and used a lot of paper to complete many of the tasks. We now can use the system for all areas of HR in one system and not have to be in multiple systems to complete tasks. Employees also are able to do more on their own profile, without submitting forms to HR to update. It also addressed the issue of saving paper and allowing employees to access pay stubs and tax forms at home along with submitting time off.
  • UltiPro assigns a representative to take you through the implementation of each module you set up for your company. A weekly meeting is set up and they help you set-up the module to customize for your needs/wants. It is very helpful to have them for the few weeks/months of implementation.
  • UltiPro offers a customer success portal with many answers to questions you may have. You can check the portal, prior to submitting a case or calling a representative which can help save you time/wait time.
  • UltiPro is customized to your company needs/wants.
  • Reporting in UTM would be an area that could be improved. Many reports for the time management system in UTM can not be accessed in the BI reports and are a little difficult to find a report.
  • Extending the password reset date out further than 90 days.
UltiPro offers a lot of training classes and a full library of questions and answers online for easy access to train yourself/team or get an answer to your question quickly. You can access UltiPro anywhere you have internet access!

We use UltiPro across the whole organization and have several modules. We use onboarding, recruiting, payroll, time, compensation management etc...just to name a few. It has created a whole list of efficiencies for our department, making our life a whole lot easier. It has allowed us to go electronic from paper, our employees have a much better HRIS experience, the solutions are easy to use and have cut down our time.
  • Reporting through Business Intelligence. The reporting tool is great and allows you to create a report on any information in UltiPro in just a few seconds.
  • Recruiting/Onboarding: those two tools have created a great candidate experience and have cut down on the amount of paper and time that we spend onboarding an employee.
  • Support: we have a dedicated account manager if any issues were to arise. They also have customer support and you get a call back within 24 hours, although in my experience its always been sooner.
  • Time management. They are always improving the tool but that is where we have had the most challenge. Sometimes I feel like it doesn't talk to the core as well as the other products. Scheduling, requesting vacations...should be a bit easier for employees.
  • Performance management. You should have the option to choose what type of rating system you want to go with.
Global companies, companies with employees over 100, multistate employers and anybody looking to improve their HRIS system. Companies with only a few employees would not be best suited for this product as I think it is meant for mid-large size companies. Ultipro also offers a lot of support for Canadian companies.

Ultipro is being used across the organization for performance managment, compensation management, payroll, benefits including open enrollment and life events, and regular HR functions such as new hires and rate increases.
  • Ultipro is particularly helpful on the performance management side. The set up and process is simple and is modiable enough to work for most organizations.
  • Our main concern when choosing Ultipro was how it would be used by thousands of hourly, not necessarily system savvy employees. We have found that Ultipro simplifies it's processes so that it is easily understandable and therefore readily used.
  • Customer Service is a strength for Ultipro. The model in place provides a personal touch and I am always amazed at how quickly our issues and questions get addressed.
  • Ultipro listens to its' customers. We all have the opportunity to send in ideas and it is always gratifying when they are put into practice.
  • Report Writing is an issue. It is not necessarily intuitive and with the recent upgrade has become more complicated especially for simple report writers.
  • I was recently surprised at the pricing associated with the new Learning Management system. In comparison to other vendors it was way out of whack. Much too high.
  • When tickets have to be escalated to customs or other areas beyond the basic customer support, it often gets lost in a "black hole" for too long.
Well suited for companies, especially retail, who are looking for a system that is easy to teach, responsive, logical and lets your teams spend their time on their customers rather than on trying to figure out systems. Ultipro knows how to simplify processes very well. In addition, I have been "wowed" by their customer service.

UltiPro is used by all of our employees whether they are clocking in or managing their employees. For Human Resources, we are able to report better and provide information to the managers that need it most- whether it be financial information; emergency contact information or anything in between. In the past we were not able to do that. As UltiPro evolves we are finding more ways to provide more information.
  • Reporting- Cognos is a great tool and easy to use.
  • ACA - helps us stay in compliance.
  • Core- Allows both employees and HR see the necessary information for daily needs easily without confusion.
  • UltiPro Mobile - can't wait for the BI reporting feature to be available (that is coming soon).
  • Would love if there was a way taxes for all states would be set up in the back end and then we could just turn on. It would make it a faster process. No company I know does it now, but it would be a great idea.
UltiPro is well suited for any company looking for a Payroll/HR solution that is all in one and provides excellent customer service support. Their team during implementation and as a customer has been top notch. They help us whenever we need them. Their training as well is the best I have encountered to date as an HRIS professional.

Ease of access for our employees to view and update their information was a step in the right direction for our company and we are looking forward to taking advantage of even more features as quickly as possible.

We currently use Core, payroll, benefits administration, salary planning, recruitment, platform configuration, time management, performance reviews, BI, import tool and we also use this as our intranet portal for our entire population. Using UltiPro helps us to reach the major population of our organization that does not have access to company emails or work computers. We do have 2 areas for them to access ultipro to enter their time off requests, manage their personal information and time. Same for management, they are able to manage their time and employee information. The reporting helps our management and finance areas for weekly, monthly, qrtly an annual reporting. UltiPro has helped us to streamline out processes and we are getting closer to a 1-stop shop which is wonderful for administering so many moving pieces.
  • One thing that is extremely wonderful is that Ultimate knows that there is always room for improvement and listens to the customer. Each year we see improvements implemented that customers request.
  • One area is the compensation module. Currently salary planning only goes to managers with their direct reports. The old module also had it go to the department head with his direct reports and their direct reports, which made it easier when you are using a pool. It would be nice to add that back into the module.
It really is an easy product to use and the tools to help you along the way are great, which is needed since this is a virtual system.

UltiPro is used across whole org. We use Back Office for processing our payroll and setting up deductions and earnings. We use the web portal for employee self service, open enrollment, UTM and just added Onboarding.
  • Reporting is great, there are multiple options for reporting. You have canned reports and you have Cognos Business Intelligence. I am able to use the tax reporting from UltiPro to file all my Federal and State reporting.
  • Support is outstanding. From your named service representative to logging on to the Customer Support to create a case or need of Rapid Response for time sensitive needs, you can count on Ultimate Support to take care of the issue.
  • Continuing upgrades to programs to meet industry needs
  • Some times when a support case is completed and issue fixed, the explanation of what caused the issue is not very clear.
  • Connection issues at times, rare, but seem to hit at the worst times.
If you are looking for a system that can fit small companies to large global UltiPro is a great solution.

  • UltiPro provides advanced reporting capabilities.
  • UltiPro provides easy to use self-service portal for employees.
  • UltiPro Time Management is easy to use.
  • UltiPro Payroll Gateway is easy to use and intuitive.
  • The confirmation screen in open enrollment sorts past and future enrollments differently, which makes it difficult to compare.
  • I would like to see improvements around the PTO processes. The PTO Request screen is not very intuitive. Many of our employees struggle with figuring out how to change the hours of the request (for example, it defaults to 8 but they want to request 4 - you must click Advance Options to open a pop-up dialogue). I would like the capability to enter a request on behalf of an employee.
  • I would like to be able to import deduction data and other mass changes.
I believe UltiPro would be well-suited for all types and sizes of companies.

Currently we use UltiPro for our HRMIS and Payroll for all employees. We process new hires and pay every other week with the system. We are working to add different modules to our platform.
  • Payroll Processing - from importing time to paying employees, the process is very smooth. We use their time keeping system so it works very well.
  • Recruiting - we recently added the new recruiting module and it is amazing. We are able to show off a more personalized look for potential new employees and really get them excited to work for us.
  • Employee input - when coupled with recruiting, the information easily flows from the employee directly into the system to ensure their personal information is correct.
  • Special requests - our biggest gripe is that any time we need specific help with reporting or set up, it's always $6,000. That seems to be a magic price every project request.
  • Canadian locations - we have some struggles with our Canadian locations and the regulations. Most recently the change in holiday pay within Ontario has caused us to have to have a custom done within the system to make sure the pay is calculated correctly. At this point, we are doing it manually until a solution can be provided.
UltiPro is perfect for companies that want to have the control of processing payroll in house and have the resources to do so. The system also allows for more reporting than other systems I've used in the past.

UltiPro is used across the whole organization among three companies. We use it to manage benefits, payroll and our time management.
  • Rapid Response hotline is outstanding for assisting with payroll critical issues.
  • Through the Learning Center and Customer Support Portal there is a lot of information available to review and research. The FAQ the Ultimate provides greatly aid in launching new products such as the mobile app.
  • Find the use of UltiPro very logical based and user friendly.
  • Open Enrollment - would like to see the option to copy a previous year enrollment then able to modify for current year changes. Time consuming to recreate for each pay group.
  • While promoting from within is great, we have encountered several account managers. Some better than others. So the turnover can be a bit frustrating.
  • In UTM wish there was a method for administrator to make modification on behalf of the employee instead of only deny or approve.
For our organization we find the HR and Payroll Processing features well suited for our environment. The reporting options are very beneficial for our needs.

I used Ultipro for years at my previous company until I left in April 2018. Our entire company used the platform for payroll management. It made it really easy to request time off, view my PTO hours, and view my paychecks.
  • The platform is extremely user-friendly and easy to navigate compared to other payroll systems I've used.
  • It's really easy to log in and view or print your previous paychecks, which saved a lot of time when I was applying for a mortgage and could just print my own documents instead of requesting them from HR.
  • It was also easy to see how much PTO time I had already used and how much I had left throughout the year.
  • It's a big bonus that they have a mobile app with full functionality as well.
  • I have nothing negative to say about the platform.
I think Ultipro makes sense for any business with a large workforce of salaried employees.

UltiPro is our total system of record. We are on the enterprise side and utilize it for payroll, recruitment, on-boarding, time and attendance, 1095C administration and we just started with compensation and performance management. It is used by every employee in some capacity. It allows our managers and supervisors to quickly manage time off requests, correct and approve time cards, audit remote punches and see real-time information on their team. Its ease of use is what makes it so valuable. It has allowed us to put in more efficient processes too.
  • UMS is a payroll services division of Ultipro that we use. They process our payroll, manage garnishments and taxes. They do it very well.
  • Providing the necessary technical and system support that is needed. We almost always get someone that is well versed in the module we are working on.
  • System integrity.
  • More space for names and codes.
  • Integrate into one system. We still have to back-office a lot for things that can't be done on the web yet.
  • The Phone App could use some improvement. More specifically in the area of CA law and around meal and rest breaks.
It works great for large companies. There is flexibility in sets ups where there are multiple pay groups, jurisdictions, union and non-union workers. It may not be a good fit for small companies

UltiPro is being used across all of S&T Bank. It is how employees check their benefits & pay & multiple other things. We use it in our department for paying our employees and it's used by my coworkers for 401k and pension benefits. We also use it for time management.
  • I feel like the customer portal is a huge success. It is so nice that if I have a question rather than Googling it I can search in UltiPro's own database to find the answer and know that it is right.
  • I think the time management is amazing. Very easy to understand and very easy to see time cards. If I need to make changes to an employee's paycheck I don't have to go through a bunch of steps.
  • I have only ever worked with UltiPro and I don't have much to compare it to, but I just feel like the overall feel of it and how user-friendly it is, is one of it's greatest strengths.
  • I am still not too familiar with the time management as far as PTO time goes, but I have noticed there seems to be a "disconnect" there when PTO time is put in or removed, some employees see differently than what we do. That has been my only issue so far that I can think of.
It is all around well suited. It is very clean, user friendly, and very much oriented in helping the users and making them happy.

We use UltiPro across the organization. This system has helped us to reduce payroll processing time, streamline data integration, offer self-service tools to employees and managers, enhance our annual compensation review process and most recently, enhance our goal planning process.
  • The Support Teams have been wonderful to work with, very knowledgeable and responsive.
  • The system is always being developed and enhanced to stay current and best meet client needs.
  • Although the reporting tools are very robust, it is somewhat misleading in the beginning with the resource(s) and skill level that will be needed to really take full advantage of the reporting capabilities.
  • I would really like to see enhancements to the security elements of Recruiting to better meet each clients needs rather than a structured role approach.
  • I would love to see capabilities to allow the client to add text to workflows that would offer instruction to the employees/managers.

If you are looking for a system that touches all areas of the Employee Life Cycle without bolting on additional products, UltiPro is a great choice. It is very user-friendly and always being enhanced and developed to stay current with technology.

We use Core and time management. I am working on opening UltiPro's capabilities for our company for HR internally to use and self-service for employees.
  • As an HCM system it helps keep all of our payroll and employee information in one system. The software is very easy to use and I feel for the most part is accurate too.
  • Benefits enrollment is very intuitive and easy for employees to follow. Even for new hires who have never used the system before.
  • Time management is simple for our employees to use and we could use this software to its full potential in the future.
  • Our repetitive issues are with payment services cases. They seem to be lacking the support needed to process issues in a timely manner.
  • There are a few quirks with the way we process benefits, payroll that makes it so that we can't use certain things in UltiPro.
This software works very well for our company, which has a size of 300-400 employees. We have the option to add on additional products that may be of use to us.

We use UltiPro for timekeeping, HR, and payroll across the whole organization. It gives our employees access to their information, securely, gives HR access to the employees, and helps us process payroll more efficiently.
  • Payroll processing: seeing instant results as opposed to mainframe processing and waiting for calculation results.
  • Ultimate listens to clients! If we're in the software and have an idea for an enhancement, we just click a button and submit that idea. If other clients vote on it, Ultimate implements it and delivers it to all of us.
  • HCM: flows seamlessly from on-boarding to payroll, and timekeeping.
  • Having a 225 day calculation for state taxes for baseball teams would be huge.
  • The ability to apportion taxes based on location (i.e. 20% CA, 10% TX, etc).
  • The ability to select mutiple W2s for different employees based on either job code, pay group, or department would be great as we have to save these to pdfs and email them for our players who have no access to the system.
I can't think of any scenarios where UltiPro is not well suited.

UltiPro is a system of record for employee data such as job, personal, pays. We use third party systems for time and attendance, performance and benefits. UltiPro makes it possible to easily integrate with other systems and have data flow to and from UltiPro. The ability to have business process workflows with approvers configured to fit our requirements has eliminated the need to manually audit employee changes monthly. The business process workflows with approvers greatly reduced our data entry errors. We implemented employee self-service which removed the delay in processing changes for employees personal information such as address & name changes, direct deposit, etc. Our managers have the ability to view employee job-related information without having to contact someone to provide it for them.
  • Integration with other systems.
  • Ease of use.
  • Configuration flexibility and the ability of Administrators to configure tables as needed.
  • Field length such as job title (description).
  • Make it easier to report on Platform Configuration fields in Cognos.
  • Org charts need to be more flexible.
We love the Flexibility / Configurability / Ease of use / Integration with third-party systems. UltiPro listens to its customers! They also have excellent Customer Support.

It is used to process hours worked for payroll and employee leave. It is typically used by HR and Accounting departments, but we have implemented the mobile app, which allows all employees to see certain data. Our employees across the company use it to request and approve leave and time off as well.

  • Setting up new codes can be a challenge.
  • It is sometimes hard to get issues resolved through case management.
It is great for payroll and HR because it makes some of the compliance and reporting more efficient. It is also great that it automatically feeds our retirement plan provider with census and contribution data. We have not integrated it with healthcare, but I imagine it can be useful to feed those third-party providers with data as well.

UltiPro is being used across our company. The ability for employees to see their own data when needed by them cuts down the number of calls to the Payroll and Human Resources departments. Having their information available 24/7 allows our employees access to their data on their own time. Opening up UltiPro to allow changes initiated by our employees allows them more control of their data and gets them personally involved with the process.

We use UltiPro as our system of record for HR and Payroll. We utilize Onboarding and Performance Mgmt as well. Our staff has access to pay stubs and personal data. Our managers submit status changes, pay changes and evaluations using UltiPro. Essentially, we have eliminated about 90% of our paper process. It has provided many efficiencies from a benefit enrollment, payroll and employee maintenance process. We are able to track changes and help reduce errors.
  • UltiPro tracks every change made in the system. We are able to trace back to the originator any change in question and it keeps the historical data for us. When a manager submits a pay change for an employee, they are able to see historical information that may impact their decision.
  • UltiPro's reporting feature is superior to any system I've ever used. I am able to easily find what field I need to report on and can mix and match what level of detail I choose.
  • UltiPro's customer service is top notch! Whether it's using case management, utilizing the chat feature (amazing!) or searching for an answer myself in knowledge base, they have mastered the level of customer service busy HR professionals need day to day. You have many options to find your answers based on the severity of your need and the timeliness of your solution.
  • A local user group would be great where we can meet and brainstorm with other UltiPro users about functionality, setups or best practices.
  • I'd like contingent requests to be active on the effective date rather than waiting until payroll closes. We are consistently getting calls from managers and employees wondering if their request was approved or why it wasn't viewable.
  • Performance management and assignment of goals could use some improvement. We have limited flexibility because we don't use this function throughout the organization.
Having used UltiPro at two other employers and implemented it for two out of the three, I feel UltiPro is extremely intuitive. It also offers the user many tools to execute what they need or find information at their fingertips. Where it's the knowledgebase or the quick tours, etc, UltiPro is there for you in many different ways.
